MSI Gforce4 MX 4000 troubles when using XP SP2

Hi,
i just got a new MSI Gforce4 MX 4000 card, and I have troubles when I try to use it under XP SP2. The card works fine under 98SE, but crashes and reboots system when used under XP SP2. I tried everything, updated drivers, updated card BIOS, still problems, when I use XP SP2, it starts and after a very short while it freezes and reboots, changing resolutions didn't solve the problem.

Passivation/activation trouble when using proxy DB authentication

I have an application module which uses database proxy authentication. A user authenticates with his own login/password and AppModuleImpl.java implements following methods: https://blogs.oracle.com/imc/entry/how_to_use_database_proxy .
It works fine, but there's a trouble with passivation/activation.
When passivation/activation happens, a user recieves another application module instance from server pool, which was authenticated by another user - and so an application shows another user data.
Could someone please advise me how to cope with this trouble?

"(jbo.doconnectionpooling=false and release mode=Stateful)" is not the default setting for a fusion web application... so override the prepareSession-method and set the proxyuser in this method.

hello, i hope this thread is not closed as you can see still i am facing this problem of hanging. but this time it only happens when i am playing games. why is it like that. as i have pointed before my system specs are core 2 quad q9650, 2 gb corsar xps ddr2 1066mhz memory, 750 watt ,geforce gtx 260 nvidia thermaltake tough power. msi p45 platinum bios ver 1.6.
i havent oced my system and havent done any modding after you mods have told me to alter the voltage values and adjust ram frquency to ddr2 800 i did it but it still hangs somes in os and other times only when i start up a game.
i even set it at defualt 1066mhz and and voltage at 2.1 still it doesnt work it hangs while playing a game. see what i dont understand is where is the problem , is it with the 64 bit windows 7 build 7077 or with the graphic card ram. Color gamma trouble when using external acer 223w monitor

I have an MBP and I am connecting my Acer 223ww external monitor to it while I am at my desk. For some reason, I have noticed, the displays (both the MBP and Acer) will periodically, at what seems to be random intervals, give the appearance of a the gamma being changed to something lighter. Suddenly the colors will look washed out and more bluish on both the Acer and the MBP LCD screens. I have been able to get it to promptly revert back by simply opening the Display Preferences, but it will inevitably happen again.
This does not seem to happen when the external monitor is not attached.
Has anyone seen this with any other monitor? Any solutions out there?

Opening the Display Preference Pane solves the issue, until the next time you sleep your display.

Fall into a trouble when calling a dll from java in linux

Hi, experts:
I encountered a big trouble when using JNI to call a C++-compiled DLL from java in Linux: The DLL function didn't execute immediately after the invocation, and was deferred till the end of the Java execution. But all worked well after migrating to windows. This problem made me nearly crazy. Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance.
Linux: fedora core 8, jdk1.6.0_10,
compile options: g++ -fPIC -Wall -c
g++ -shared

It looks like the OP compiled the C source file and linked it into a Windows .dll, which would explain why it worked flawlessly in Windows. (Though I must say the usage of GCC would make someone think it was compiled in Linux for Linux, GCC also exists for Windows, so I'm not sure it's a Windows .dll either...)
@OP: Hello and welcome to the Sun Java forums! This situation requires you to make both a .dll and a .so, for Windows and Linux. You can then refer to the correct library for the operating system using System.loadLibrary("myLibrary"); without any extension.

Poor performance when using kde desktop effect

Hey,
I'm having trouble when using kde effet (system settings -> desktop -> desktop effects).
I have a dual core E5200 3 ghz, 2 GB memory pc8500 and an HD4850 using fglrx driver, but I got incredible bad performance when using desktop effect and watching video, I can barely watch a 800x600 video in full screen mode without having bad performance, X getting up to 40% cpu usage.
Its really like my graphic card isnt handling the rendering stuff but 3D acceleration is working, I can play 3D game without problem so far (as long as the deskstop effect arent enabled cause the cpu have like a hard time handling both for recent game)
So I guess its some trouble with 2D acceleration or something like that, I read that some people had such issue, but I didnt figure a way to fix it.

The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.

In the Paths panel, click the flyout menu (in the top right of the panel) and choose Make Selection (this option will only be available if you have a path selected). Reduce the Feather Radius to 0 (zero) and click OK. This setting will be the default even when clicking the Load Path as Selection button.

We get the internet via cable company and their modem is upstairs and the Time Capsule is downstairs in the basement. The latest error message was about it could not backup as it was already in use (should have written it down before clicking OK and moving on.

No web site expert here but I would suggest changing the .m4v to .mp4 and ask one of those friends if they still have problems. .m4v is something I always associate with iTunes and don't really see it used elsewhere.
