MSi GP60 2PF

I bought this GP60 2PF leopard pro from germany (I live in UK) and I can't seem to find any manual for it on the MSi website. Will it be fine if I used the GP60 2PE's manual to update the drivers/BIOS?

You mean GE60 2PF?
The manual can be downloaded from here:

Hi , i buy this notebook 2 weeks ago (MSI GP60-Proi545FD) Gp60 2pf Leopard Pro.
My problem is i cant find any info for this model in MSI webside. cant update anything, drivers bios or firmware.
    If someone can help please.

There are some models is only on sale in certain country, and they don't have the download page on the website.
You should contact with the local store where you bought it and ask them about the driver/bios/firmware update.

  • MSI GE60 2PF (Apache Pro)-609UK

    Hi All
I'm new to forum so hello!
I'm looking to buy my son a mid-range gaming laptop, he doesn't need anything crazy fast and have come across the MSI GE60 2PF Apache Pro.
Only thing is, when I do a search for the laptop itself in a search engine it doesn't bring that information up about it.  The specs according to the website are as follows:
    Intel® Core™ i7-4810MQ Quad Core Processor
    15.6" Full HD Screen
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
    16GB DDR3 RAM
    128GB SSD + 1000GB 7200 RPM HDD
    DVD Rewriter
    Dedicated GTX 860M 2GB Graphics
    USB3 | HDMI | Bluetooth
    2 Year MSI Warranty
Does anybody know any more about this laptop?
    Thanks

Yeah, that's the one.  Was looking for more "hands on" experience though.
The real issue I have is that this laptop is about £200 cheaper than the GE60 2PE laptop.  I can't see any differences with the two other than the PF has the 4810 and the PE has the 4710 processor.  Just seems a tad weird that the PF is a lot cheaper...  Just wondering if I'm missing something glaringly obvious?

  • Custom BIOS requested for the MSI GP60 2PE Leopard

    Hi,
Is it possible to generate a BIOS update, for allowing the notebook to have 32 GB (2x16 GB) SODIMMs. It seems that the Memory Reference Code needs some adjustments to allow this. I got currently the MSI GP60 2PE Leopard (i7-4700HQ • 16 GB DIMM).
The currently available modules are IMM2G64D3LSOD8A-B15E or the IMM2G64D3LSOD8A-C15E from Intelligent Memory.
    With kind regards,
    Roland

    nope, can't do such modifications

  • MSI GP60 - Graphics question

    Hello,
I bought a msi gp60 with a geforce gtx 740m, and i'm having some problems with games, they are not having a good performance, as if the dedicated graphics is never being used.
I'm testing with a rocksmith 2014, which doesn't requires a heavy graphics (Graphics:256 MB DirectX 9.0c- compliant with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (see supported list) - they say laptops aren't supported, but i got 2gb, it cant be that bad as it is right now)
So, is there a way to verify if this shift between dedicated and onboard is really happening?
    Thanks

Check in nvidia contrrol panel for changing the default "Graphics processor" for games. Not sure where that is..
    ====EDIT===
I think that in the Physx surround.. At least on my desktop. Or Global Settings>CUDA Processors... Choose nvidia

  • MSI GP60 SSD/HDD Upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading the hard drive to either a SSD or 1TB HDD. What kind of HDD/SSD is compatible with MSI GP60? Also I wouldn't mind if you could tell what kind of RAM that the laptop supports.
    Thanks

I guess all 2.5" HDDs are compatible, but regarding SSDs, you'll need to buy the SATA interface of SSDs. PCIe interface of SSDs can't be detected and won't work.

  • Newly bought MSi GP60. :(

Hello guys! I'm new here. I've recently bought a new MSi GP60 and I'm kinda having some confusion. I'm new to windows 8 too ( though mine's 8.1 so i think it's just the same ). So here's my little problem, I sometimes experience having my laptop being slow compared to my pc. My pc's not that of a high-end PC, it's just a lil bit mid-end kind of. The slow I'm talking bout is the response it gives me when i do alt tabs for example or having like 2 or 3 apps running. My question is, how do I fix this and what's the cause of this? if ever i should do some tweaks, what should it be? ( Sorry this is the first notebook ever bought to me, sorry for being noob :( )
    Here's my dxdiag.
    http://pastebin.com/LQg5Me8x

Do you have this problem from the first time you turned on the laptop? or you notice the slow response time after you use it for a while?
How many programs are running at the same time when you try to use alt tab function?
Can you tell what those 2, 3 programs you are running when you think the laptop's responses is slow?
(make sure there aren't any other programs running in the background)
What spec do you have on your pc? (CPU, Memory, graphic card..)

It's under seal sticker :/, so i would suggest you to contact local MSI Service about it first and see if they say it will void your warranty or not if they say no and you can go ahead and break it then do that but then your held responsible for damage that is made.

Try and connect a USB mouse if that works then download newer version of touchpad drivers and install it and see if it works if same thing after that then try doing a touchpad firmware update and see if it will bring touchpad functionality back to life.

  • MSI GP60 96 degrees celsius normal when doing heavy work?

I'm currently rendering a video in Sony Vegas Pro 13 as we speak and the CPU temperature is at 96 degrees (system monitoring with the MSI Dragon Gaming Center App). Is this normal? The video is around 40 mins, so it might take some time to render. But what worries me is the CPU temp. Just in case you're wondering, I have a MSI GP60 i7 Laptop with an Nvidia 840M graphics card. Also I'm only using the CPU to render the video in Sony Vegas because apparently the 840M isn't that powerful enough to handle rendering on it's own.
Beside the temperature I've also noticed that MSI Dragon Gaming Center App shows that it's currently using 90-80% of my CPU power, but when I look at the task manager it shows 55%. Which one is accurate? Task Manager or MSI System Monitoring?
    What are your thoughts?

Hi, laptop thermal FAN design is not possible as powerful as a desktop PC, therefore it is normal to see 96 degrees when you are using CPU to do rendering job.  As long as the laptop is still stable when it is on heavy loading, I don't think there would be big problem.
As for the system loading display, Task manager would reflash the dispaly every second, but MSI Gaming center?  I guess it just follows the result of task manager, and there might be time gap between their display result.  I think you can base on the task manager to judge the current loading.

  • MSI GP60 - mSATA slot?

    Hi!
I bought a MSI GP60 this weekend and I'm expecting to receive it during this week. It's a "basic" version, and comes without the hybrid hdd, which I wouldn't want anyway.
As I don't want to buy a large ssd and I'd like to still have the 500gb HDD, I'd like to install an mSATA SSD if there's a free slot in it. Can someone tell me if my future GP60 will have this slot?
And if it doesn't, anyone knows where to buy a disc tray that replaces the original so I can install a normal SSD without removing the normal HDD?
    Thanks!

    Darkhawk thanks for your reply.
I finally received my GP60. Overall good impressions, given the price. Did not come with any operating system, I did a fresh install if Windows 7 64bit and used the drivers they had online. Comments/problems:
    1. The configuration of my laptop was similar to the pics posted by Allan, meaning there was an extra connection beneath the wifi card - but there was no way to fit an msata ssd drive there anyways, mainly because of the capacitor. It wouldn't have worked probably.
    2. Problem: The orange light stays always on, meaning that it uses nvidia all the time. I can't get it to work with the intel vga, although all drivers are installed and everything seems fine in device manager. The change should happen automatically right? Any ideas how to fix this?
    3. Problem: The 5 out of 6 buttons at the top never light orange, as others have already mentioned. No idea why...
    4. Problem: The G button does not work, opens a window to custom define its function.
    5. The bios version it came with is E16GDIMS.30B, there are newer versions online but I can't for the life of me understand which version I should update to. They list different versions with respect to the operating system, since when does the OS have anything to do with the BIOS version?
I'd appreciate any advice I can get.

  • [Solved] Problems with MSI GP60 2OD-410XFR

    Hello everyone,
First of all sorry for my english.
Here it is, my problem. I bought one new laptop gaming notebooks (MSI GP60 2OD-410XFR), and i've got some problemes.
1st time i turned it on, it displayed two lignes exactly like this :
    " Checking media presence
      No media present "
Then, i searched the problem and the solution in internet. Some guys told me that i should change Boot mode devices: from UEFI to LEGACY. I did it but one more new problem has displayed:
    " Intel UNPI PXE-2.0 (build 083)
      Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v21.1.2(09/06/12)
      Check cable connection!
PXE-MOF : Exiting Intel PXE ROM
Reboot and select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot deviece and press a key  "
After that, i tryied to install Windows 7 because i think that Windows has not installed (because normally,  logo Windows will be labeled on laptop if we've got one,and on mine has nothing) . But unfortunately, the blue screen has displayed after windows is loading files:
    " Stop : c000007b {Bad Image}
....\system32\basesrv.DLL is either not desingned to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the programme again using the original installation on media or ..... "
Does anyone know what happened to my laptop and can you tell me step by step what i have to do to resolve them?
Thank you very much and sorry for my english once again.

    Hello,
I can reply you in french if you want, because yu buy a NB sell in France, I believe you speak FR
About your NB, you buy one without operating system, so it's normal you don't start Windows.
The message about PCE are normal too because it's about the NB try to boot from network, so don't worry about that.
The only problem are fact you get blue screen when try to install Windows 7, look like your DVD/USB key are not good.
What do you use exactly and do you have another one for try and see if not link to your image are not good ?
