MSI GS70 : Battery Light Indicator Blinking Amber

Hey everyone,  my MSI GS70's battery status light started blinking amber a few days ago. It blinks amber whenever the battery is fully charged with or without the adapter plugged-in. The battery is still working, and the blinking amber light goes away when the battery level drops from 100%.
When the battery level is at 99%, and I plug in the adapter, it starts charging the battery. I remember the battery doesn't get charged when it's at this level.
FYI I hardly use my laptop on battery, always using with the adapter plugged-in, so I'm very confused!!
Thanks.

  • MSI GS70 - Battery light blinking amber after Windows update

As the title says, but in a bit more detail, I was doing fine with my computer and didn't have this problem at all before the update. The battery charge indicator would either be a solid white for charging or off when it was at full charge. Now after a recent windows update that I did, it seems to charge fully and keep a 2 hour charge that it normally held, but now at full charge it blinks an amber color. I did a bit of looking into and apparently it means I have a defective battery that isn't holding much charge anymore or something, though it seems to be holding the charge just fine.
Is there a fix for this or am I required to send my laptop to MSI to get it repaired under warranty?

Hi, you can try MSI Battery Calibration:
    http://www.msi.com/support/nb/GS70-2QE-Stealth-Pro-Silver-Edition.html#down-utility&Win8.1 64
And update BIOS, EC may help.
If battery is still abnormal after these actions, forward the problem to the repair center, good luck.
None of that worked, awesome. Guess I gotta ask the repair center, thanks for helping anyway.

  • When I plug in apple tv the status light just blinks amber and nothing appears on the screen

When I plug in my apple tv (first gen) the status light just blinks amber and nothing appears on the screen.  The status light never turns white and won't stops blinking amber.  I've tried to over ride this with the remote, resetting it and trying to revert it to the factory settings.  Is there a way to wake it up or is it a lost cause?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
The system looks like it's unable to start up, this could be software but more likely hardware, either way unless it will start up there is nothing a user can do to resolve this.

My Apple TV is not responding. Screen in black and light indicator blinking fast. Cannot make it work. What should I do?

Unplug it from power, wait 10-15 seconds and plug it back in.
If it does not power up properly at that point, restore it via iTunes on the computer.

  • Airport extreme setup. Airport express reset to factory settings. Light stays blinking amber. Utility won't recognize

AIrport extreme is setup. Airport express reset to factory settings. Light continues to blink amber. Utility will not recognize express to setup

Thanks. We understand that you want to use the Express to set up a separate wireless network with another modem, is that correct?
Unfortunately, we did not receive an answer to the questions that we asked above and have repeated again below regarding the AirPort Express and AirPort Utility. We asked these questions because not all versions of the AirPort Express are compatible with all versions of AirPort Utility.
What model of AirPort Express do you have?  If you are not sure, please locate the model number on the side or bottom of the AirPort Express. It starts with an "A" followed by four numbers.  It might be something like A1264 or A1392.
What version of AirPort Utility are you using? If you are not sure, please open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort Utility menu in the upper left corner of the screen, and then click on About AirPort Utility.

  • I have a new Airport Extreme and an old airport express.  I am getting an amber light on the new Extreme and a green light on the Express.   I have internet no problem but the status light is blinking amber

I have a new Airport Extreme and and old airport express.  I am getting an amber status light on the Extreme and a green light on the Express.  The Extreme is blinking amber all the time.
I have internet and everything seems to be working.
I have reset and pulled the power cord on both the extreme and the internet block
How do I make it Green?

If things seem to be working OK, but the amber light is flashing......the AirPort Extreme has a message for you. To see what that might be......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Extreme icon
Click on the amber dot in the small window
It might be a message that a firmware update is available for your AirPort Extreme.

  • MSI GS70 Keyboard Lighting

    Hello,
I'm wondering if anybody else out there has this problem with the certain keys in the keyboard not lighting up with MSI GS70. I JUST got this notebook and like it very much, however besides the fan being kinda loud (which I don't really care too much about), keys like F1, F7, F8, F9 , TAB, CAPS LOCK, SHIFT and others are not lit up at the bottom side of the key while everything else is. I'm starting to think this is a problem. Should I get it fixed? Replaced?
    Thanks.

Hey, I am experiencing the same problem. I was wondering how you dealt with it. I have sent a support form to technical support and hopefully receiving a response soon.

  • Airport is connected but light is blinking amber?

Does anyone know why this would be happening? Thanks in advance!

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word "Status" (2nd line on the summary page) and a window will open to explain why you are seeing the flashing amber light. It may possibly be a notice that an update is available for your AirPort Express.
If another reason, what does the message say?

  • My Time Capsule's light remains blinking amber

Hello all, I've just updated my modem/router for a faster one and I'm now finding it difficult to get my Time Capsule to give me a "green light" status. I can access the internet (as you can see) but I'm not sure that the Time Capsule is fully functional when it's flashing amber continuously. Does anyone have any information on what mught be going on?
    Many thanks.

Thanks for the prompt response LaPlastenague. After a lot of mucking around, I managed to get the Time Capsule to recognise the new modem by changing the comms setting from DHCP+NAT to Off (Bridged). I was under the mistaken impression that the Off (Bridged) setting wouldn't allow me internet access but that is not the case. I did this using the Airport Utility settings when clicking on the elements of the network diagram (as instructed by the screen prompts).
    Thanks and best regards,

  • MSI GX623 Battery indicator

Normally your batter indicator should chance to the orange colour when your battery is almost empty? Anyway, that's what the manual says. My indicator doesn't show any colour, unless when it's charging, it's green>
Also I noticed it charges really slow. No power charger on this one? (in 1 hour to 80%)

    Quote from: Choub890 on 03-October-09, 03:27:45
My GX620 battery light indicator changed orange when 10%>.
I've just done quick simulation to different one :D /* With 100% charged battery */
    Just to test what how they will light if my battery is going bad or low discharged level.{which i don't want to do in reality}
[i also changed the color a bit]
    Forced battery LED On,{which normally means that battery is charging, but that's not the case,{my battery is already charged to the max}
i've done battery led light test simulation}[not related to battery status]
Battery led is marked in blue, right led is numlock led which glow in green i leave it to compare with battery led light since my webcam is bad}:
    Green:
    Orange:
    Red:
Here i've done another simulation, but without battery installed where the battery LED normally is also off.
I've force it to light again without battery installed, then force it to blink if you have bad battery:
Battery taken out,[shown below, sorry for the bad quality its taken with crappy webcam] forced simulation to shows that my battery is bad:
    [Which can't be true since i don't have any battery installed, {i've removed it temporary just for the simulation}
its just simulation to check how the led will lights if i really have a bad battery and to see how will blinks]
And yes i also follow the sticky for properly battery usage: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=129715.0
And my battery{which is year old}, its in perfect condition
Listed above is just test simulation{patched temporary my notebook a bit} to check how the lights will works in opposite condition
In reality i don't want to do that, i've simulated dead battery process instead.

  • Blinking battery light when fully charged

My battery light is blinking (low battery power warning) but the battery is fully charged.  I installed a brand new battery, left the AC adapter on overnight, and this morning had a blinking battery light.  It doesn't seem to be a problem except that I won't be able to tell when the battery really is low?  Thoughts anyone?

On buying MBP with retina display, one of the Apple genius in the store advised never overcharge it and till date I am acting upon his advice.
Also, he stated don't put your MBP for continuous charging. Charge it in the same way same as you do for your mobile phone.
Anyways, I'll keep on looking charged status (100% charge) like what I and other iPhone users do.
Actually, I take well care of my belongings and iPhone being a premium product, I raised this concern.
Anyways, Thank you very much for your kind support.
The genius was misinformed. There is no way to over charge an Apple battery powered device. The charging circuits in the device itself will never allow that to happen. Once the battery is fully charged, charging stops no matter what you do or don't do to the device.
BTW, this is not an Apple thing. The over charge protection is actually part of the international engineering standards for smart lithium battery technology.

  • Apple TV LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio

As described in the header, my Apple TV (120GB) has its LED blinking amber non-stop, no video, no audio. It is about 2 months old and I have never had issue with it before.
The manual says this indicates that it is starting up, but I can tell you, it is not starting up.

Is the light only blinking amber? White and amber mean bigger problems. See what apple says.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305099
If all you are getting is a bad booting, try running a diagnostic.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305190
Also, if you give it a reboot (unpluging), leave it unplugged for a good 30 seconds to a minute. I bet there could still be power to the logic board, and you need to let the internal led bleed it dry otherwise the internal memory can cause some problems.

  • MIFI4620LE Jetpack blinking amber light--does this mean the battery is bad? Should the unit operate without the battery installed if plugged in?

MIFI4620LE Jetpack blinking amber light--does this mean the battery is bad? Should the unit operate without the battery installed if plugged in?

The MIFI4620LE Jetpack does not work without a battery installed, even when connected to an external power supply.
I personally think that was a dumb design. I would think the unit would use more electricity when continually charging the battery than just powering the unit it's self, but that's the way Novatel made them.
If your Jetpack works with the battery installed and connected to an external power supply, but does not power on with power supply disconnected, I would say that the battery is defective or worn out.
You should be able to go to a nearby Verizon Store and have them either test the battery or put a new one in it to see if it works. Then you will know if you need to spend the $$ for a new battery. OR if you always use your Jetpack at home, or in your car, just use the old battery connect to a power supply or your cigarette lighter and save the cash.
As the Customer Support person stated, the slow blinking amber light is a normal state when the Jetpack is turned on and connected to Verizon's service.
I hope this solves your problem.

  • T400 battery light blinking orange. Senses second battery error with NO second battery present.

I am using T400 laptop,  problem is battery indicator light is blinking orange even though my main battery is well charged. Power manager indicates Battery 1 is fine but it is also showing Battery 2: Error detected. Power manager says main battery condition as good and second battery condition as error? Any Ideas? There is NO secondary battery in the laptop.

2-3 years is a normal lifespan for a lithium-ion battery. The blinking orange light means that capacity is low, which makes sense for a battery at the end of its life. Although you're getting contradictory indications from the Power Manager, I suggest trying a new battery.
