MSI GT60 0ND Restore Windows 8 DVD

Hi everyone, today i tryed to install Ubuntu on my MSI GT60 0ND, just for fun. After 2 days of using, I wanted to get back to Windows 8. I started to restore via msi restore disks. And found that 3rd disk is damaged.
I tryed to restore the disk. Copyed the OSImg3.swm, and noticed that just 0405, 0409, 0445 files are damaged.
So please guys who can upload 3rd disk or know the way to fix my problem please answer.
I need only 3rd disk, total disk quantity is 5.
My notebook model is MSI GT60 0ND-286CZ:
Intel Core i7 3630QM
RAM 12GB DDR3
NVIDIA GTX 675M 2GB
64 + 64 SSD RAID 0 (Super Raid)
750 GB 7400 rmp hdd

Easier to say which ones NOT to install.
http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT60-0NC.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win8%2064
Don't install the Raid drivers unless you use raid.
Start with the Chipset, Intel Management Engine Drivers then install the others one by one depending on which devices your laptop is equipped.

  • MSI GT60 0ND 675M Throttling Problem (NEED HELP)

    Hello MSI Forum
    I have 2 year old MSI GT60 0ND with Intel i7-3630QM and Nvidia GTX 675M with 2GB GDDR5 memory.
My problem is focused to all games. After few minutes playing game fps starts to drop frequently under 30 fps.
But after few seconds it comes back to normal state.
I have cleaned fan from dust and it doesnt have any effect. Also running fan on turbo mode doesnt have any noticable effect.
    - Never updated bios
    - Running Windows 8.1
    - Always updating drivers.
    - Intel speedstep is disabled, no effect.
I think its problem with CPU throttling but i cant find any thread to help with issue.
    Anyone can help me?
    Thx in advance!

    Hi ijimma,
    1. Does the problem happen recently? If so, then maybe some driver or system update has caused the problem.
    2. Check the FAQ and see if turning off the HDD power saving function. (http://www.msi.com/faq/nb-977.html)
    3. What's the current graphics driver version? (this msi tool helps to export all driver version and installed programs, so sharing the text file to us can let us know better about your system environment.)

  • Hi Everyone Im New, Got Question About Upgrading MSI GT60 0ND With SSD

Hi Everyone I'm New, Got Question About Upgrading MSI GT60 0ND With SSD.
:welcome:So As I've stated I'm new here, or at least got a new MSI notebook.
Ive got the new MSI gt60 0ND with 750GB HD and 675 Ge-Force GTX , anyways to the bottom line.
I would like to Upgrade my computer with SSD that I bought and install the win8 on it, in order to speed things up, but I have encountered a few problems..
    1. there is no sticker on the back of the computer that gives information about the serial number of my windows 8...
    2. lets say in some magical way I could get the serial number out, can I use it to reinstall ? because Ive heard that you cannot use this CD key anyways unless you got a special win8 installation CD key from MSI because its MSI branded windows 8.
am I screwed    ? ?? ? I thought it is possible to upgrade with SSD but it seems like MSI made it very hard, I do not understand why they even putted the warranty void sticker on the expansion bay's .... WEIRD..
Please help !! Thanks in advance,

  • MSI Gt60 0nd wont recognize USB 3.0 mass storage device (WD)

    Hi all
my notebook MSI Gt60 0ND wont recognize USB 3.0 mass storage device (WD), Western digital my passport 1TB USB 3.0 \ USB 2.0Compatible.
i connect the WD my passport to the SS USB 3.0 but it wont be recognized it only gives it electricity to spin but that's it, on the other hand if i connect it to the USB2.0 it is recognized.
i installed all the drivers from MSI to this computer the Intel USB 3.0 and the Intel chipset which are the only drivers that can be related to this.
i use windows 7, even when i had windows 8 it didn't work.
i tried upgrading the Western digital my passport firmware and even got the software thought that maybe it could help but still no luck.. any one got any idea for a solution ?
    Thanks in advance,
    David.

Does anything else work when you plug it into your USB 3.0 port? How about a mouse? Keyboard? Another USB Flash drive?
If nothing works in that port, your USB 3.0 port or card is probably bad. RMA time.

  • MSI GT60 0ND - Time to upgrade?

    Hi Guys,
So...after a long time i was inactive coz of work and other stressing stuff i'm back...starting with a question ofcourse :P ...
anyways guys i want to share you with somthing..after a year with my MSI GT60 0nd i started to notice some LAG and low FPS in some games..  (BattleField 4 and such), and now i'm really trying to think what to do if to buy a new one.. ? or try upgrading the one i already own from GPU 675GTX to the 780GTX or 765...
anyhow i really want to know if that's possible and if any one here has already done that...
Also !! is it possible to upgrade the CPU ? ? to the new gen 4700 ?? i know already now that the chances it can happen are low but i'm not sure so i'm asking...Thanks guys!!

    Hey Dark Hawk,
sorry for the time it took me to replay.
Thanks for the time you took to answer me, i really dont want to purchase a new laptop right now and i do want to upgrade it.
i dont know where to buy an mobile gpu(770gtx or 780) is there any place that sells those and ships? how much should it cost ?
regarding to the cpu i would be glad if you could tell me if i could get to a really major improvment or its a waste of time.. ?
Thanks again, i appriciate it alot!
The CPU is most likely not worth the cost to replace it, to be perfectly honest. You COULD do it, and you might see a slight performance increase, but not like going from a 3910 to a 4700 or something.
The GPU upgrade will help the most. You should be able to technically handle a GTX780M, provided you have at least a 180W power supply. You can get those from Ebay or resellers. You might be able to get one straight from MSI as well.

  • MSI GT60 0ND Wont charge.

One Day it World, next Day it dosent charge. I noticed it  at 10% so im all out of power. I have tryed diffrent plugs and taking battery out and in again. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone know anything about a similar problem?
Now does warranty cover it not charging?
Also is something wrong with this model? The GT60 0ND, I were just wondering because something else is also wrong, screen driver has stopped responding. And that didn't fix after getting new graphic card, also has some dead pixels. I don't end help for these problems tho. I were just wondering, not complaining every other msi product we had worked perfect. Maybe I'm just unlucky.
Should be noted my PC has a GTX 675MX instead of a GTX 675M because apparently they swapped it around when I send it to warranty, the problem ain't completely gone tho (wich is weird, only happens in Arma 3 and AC4 now. But w/e.)
    Not sure if this matters.
Edit: quick question does all msi notebooks use same charger? If not do anyone know wich notebooks use the same as gt60 0nd.
Edit:got a old charger, that works, only does half the power tho, will it just be slower?

So in my search for a new one, i found http://www.batteribyen.dk/stromforsyninger/laptop-baerbar-stromforsyning/msi-stromforsyning/msi-gt780-adapter-stromforsyning-180w wich seems to be the exact same as mine. But it says it wont work for my PC, now if i search for one that will work for my PC, I find 125w wich doesn't seem to make any sense. You guys think I would be able to use the linked one for my PC?
Now if I go look at the gt780 wich the website above says it should work for I see the power adaptor is 150w (http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GT780.html#?div=Specification) now if I go to the website it sells 180w for this PC? Have they gotten something wrong or have I?
This sentence probably doesn't make much sense, sum up.
The adapter I linked is 180w and if you scroll down, you see gt780 is one of the products that the adapter would work for. Now if I go to msi's website the gt780 says that the adapter it needs is 150. And if I search for a adapter for my gt60 0nd, I find 125w but on msi's website it says it needs 180w. Do you guys think I can use the first linked one for my gt60 0nd? The output 9,5a and 19v matches. And it looks the same on the picture although I can't see the written things on the picture.

  • MSI GT60 0ND-250US BSOD during gaming

I've had this laptop for about 6 months now and recently (this past week) I've been having problems with it. Every time I try to play a game other than league of legends the game runs for about 30 seconds to a minute before locking up and freezing. Sometimes I get a BSOD sometimes I get the popup that says my driver has recovered from an error. I've been monitoring my CPU and GPU temps during this time and they don't even go over 80c. There's no artifacting or anything just locks up on me. Runs league of legends flawlessly, but anything else from my steam library doesn't work.  The error codes have been DPC_Watchdog_Violation or VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE nvlddmkm.sys.

create a bootable USB key and extract nvidia flash tool over the USB key:
    http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2257/nvflash-5-136/
then boot your notebook to pure DOS and type:
    nvflash -b gg.rom [ENTER]
see if the card will be seen and if the vbios backup of it will be taken

  • My GT60 0ND just completely died... help?

'm usually not the one to ask for support like this, but this time I would really appreciate some advice. I cherish my MSI GT60 0ND-250US laptop, and while playing a simple, non-graphically demanding game last night, my entire laptop just died. In a split second the fans turned off, the screen went black, the hard drive shut down, and it was completely bricked. It didn't overheat, as that was the first thing I felt for and upon inspection the fans are clean of dust. Talk about any computer user's worst nightmare!
    So far, I have tried:
     - Removing the power supply and trying to start it up
     - Removing the battery and plugging it in and trying to start it up
     - Removing the disk drive and trying to start it up
     - And finally, removing the HD and trying to start it up
And, as you could probably guess, none of it worked :(. I'm trying not to freak out, but short of replacing the CPU/GPU, I can't really think of what to do! Every 20 seconds or so I can see the battery indicator LED flash on for a split second, so some power is flowing sometimes at least. Otherwise, it is completely 100% dead. I can't find any similar problems for MSI laptops online, and as I said, I'm pretty desperate at this point. If anyone here has any advice at all, I would be greatly, greatly appreciative!

Thank you so much for the quick response! In response to your advice:
    1. I just tried uninstalling one RAM stick and starting it up, no change.
    2. This is one thing I'm hesitant to try - If I uninstall the GPU, I don't have the thermal paste or whatever it's called to reinstall it. Also, I was under the impression that even if the GPU was broken in some way, I would still hear the fans trying to start up. I can of course try this if you believe it's the best course of action, but hopefully as a last resort.
    3. Just tried that now, and there doesn't seem to be blinking. Also, I was a bit unclear in my original post: I saw the battery light blinking at about 20sec intervals last night (while the battery was installed and the laptop unplugged), but after a while gave up and got some sleep. By the time I woke up today, the blinking stopped, even though literally nothing changed except for the passage of time.
Again, thanks for the great advice!

Oh jesus. Sadly, I visited there back in 2006. I had a great time back then. Now I think I'll stay away. >.<
That being said, yeah, there isn't much you can do. I've had people paypal me money and then purchasing the part, and forwarding it to them (they were in AUS though).
Not sure I can do that this time around again though. I'll be gone for a week too starting on Sunday, so yeah, I wouldn't be able to get to it for another 2 weeks. =/

  • Msi gt60 ram

    Hello,
    I buy msi  GT60 0ND-099FR .
I can not find or is the ram on the inside.
I see two empty slots of ram.
Thank you in advance for your help.

This unit can support up to 32GB total (8GB x 4 slots).

The spec shows this unit comes with 8GB therefore the 4GB x 2 are underneath the keyboard.
You can add 2 more of 4GB/8GB modules.

  • MSI GT70 0ND-622AU - Accessing BIOS/Finding Windows Product Key

    Hi,
Looking for answers to the following questions on my MSI GT70 0ND-622AU please.
    1. How do I access the BIOS? There's no "Press blah for setup" prompt when powering on. Only an MSI screen.
    2. How can I locate my Windows 8 Product Key. There's no stickers on these laptops including under the battery. I'd like to install an SSD as the primary drive and assume I'll be needing it to install the OS.
    Thanking you in advance

Per Microsoft's new rules, the key must be embedded inside of BIOS, which will only activate with matching edition.
You can use http://rweverything.com/ to check your ACPI -> MSDM to find out what your key is.
However, if you still cannot activate your OS then you will need use recovery DVDs to restore the OS back to the stock one.

  • MSI GT60 with Vertex 4 SSD - Freezing, won't load Windows only in SATA III port

    Hello,
New to the world of SSD's and trying to get my Vertex 4 to be able to operate at 6 Gb/s. I know that in my MSI GT60 that it has to be in port 1 because that is where the SATA III controller is, port 4 is just a SATA II. I was able to update the Vertex 4 to firmware version 1.5 and when it is plugged into port 4, no issues at all. It will run and take anything i throw it while running at 3 Gb/s in SATA II mode. My port 1 currently houses a 500gb Western Digital Scorpio drive.
As soon as i throw the Vertex 4 in port 1, issues arise. Sometimes i get a disk read error right after bios, sometimes it just freezes. On the latest Intel RST for my board, 11.2.0.1006 it can actually boot on occasion but 90% of the time freezes but still only reads 3 Gb/s when it does boot. It does the same thing in version 11.1.0.1006 and any older RST it just freezes or says disk read error and never boots.
I have my bios set to AHCI mode and i have tried the Vertex 4 by itself and also with the WD 500gb in the other port. When i switch back to Vertex 4 in port 4 and WD in port 1, no issues at all. Just trying to see if this is a known issue or anything else i can look at.  I made sure to break the RAID 0 and it was a clean install of windows 7 to the drive.
Running on bios E16F3IMS.10M.  The Vertex 4 is at its latest firmware as well.  I do have one PCI device i can't identify in Windows and thinking it might be the issue but can't narrow it down.  I have the Intel RST installed.
I also posted this on the OCZ forum and did their tips as well.
    Thanks!

  • First PC Build: MSI P67A-G43 - Can't Boot From Windows 7 DVD

    MB: MSI P67A-G43
    HD: Seagate 1TB
    DVD: HP 1260
    CPU: Intel i5 2500K
I just built my first PC.  In the BIOS I had it set to boot first from my DVD drive that has a 64-bit version of Windows 7 loaded.  No matter what I tried, I received the message: "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device"
So I have been on the phone with technical support, and they suggested I download a driver update, which I found HERE.
I have tried installing both the driver and the BIOS updates, but every time it says that the boot from the pen drive failed and to check the USB drive and ROM.
I've looked for answers all over the web, but the only ones I find assume that you've previously had Windows installed.  This is a first boot though, and I really don't know what to do next.  Can anyone help with this?
    thanks!

If anyone would like to take a look at these OC settings that are default with my board as to a reason why it wouldn't be booting from the DVD drive or accepting the RAM, I would appreciate it.

  • MSI GT60 0NE Reformat from Windows 8.1

So I recently updated my GT60 0NE's Windows 8 to 8.1, but now I'm deciding to just completely reformat my computer back to OEM factory settings.
I have read that there are some issues regarding the function of the F3 recovery partition (I haven't personally tried it yet.)  I've also read that another option is to use the built-in refresh/reset function in Windows 8 instead if the recovery partition doesn't work.
    My questions are:
    1. Which one should I use?  Assuming I can access the OEM factory settings recovery partition, should I use that or the built-in Windows 8 reset function?
    2. If I use the built-in Windows 8 reset function, will it reinstall Windows without any of my laptop drivers and/or delete the recovery partition?
    3. If I reformat my laptop using either method, will it not recognize the RAID 0 setup of my C drive?  That and built-in drivers are the main reason I want to stick with the OEM recovery partition.  Although hunting for the drivers will be easy, I have no clue how to set up RAID 0 (it came as default when I bought my laptop.)
    3. I have 2 recovery partitions: BIOS_RVY and winRE_tools.  What are they for?  If possible, I'd like to keep the option of having the OEM recovery partition for future reformats for the drivers (unless it's not needed with the new Windows 8 reset function), but these recovery partitions are installed in different drives (one is on my C drive and the other is on my D drive.)
    4. I am currently using the BETA EC firmware that prevents throttling.  Will reformatting my laptop cause it to revert back to the original EC firmware?  (I assume it won't since it's a firmware update.)
I hope someone can answer my questions.  Thanks in advance!

Quote from: darkhawk on 19-November-13, 20:03:07
    1. I would use the OEM Factory Recovery partition (using F3 during boot). This will reset you back to your original settings as if you just bought the notebook.
    2. It will essentially make the laptop as if you just brought it home from purchasing it. Your recovery partition will remain intact.
    3. It will recognize the RAID 0 most likely (Windows should have the required Intel raid drivers built in to recognize it). But you will have to find all the drivers and install them on your own. You won't need to worry about the RAID drivers that much honestly.
    4. BIOS_RVY is for recovering via the F3 option mentioned above. I'm not sure what the winRE_tools are for.
    5. Reformatting the hard drive will not effect the EC firmware. It is seperate.
Thanks for the answers darkhawk.  Two last questions:
    1. What exactly is the difference between using the OEM Factory Recovery partition through F3, and using the built-in windows 8.1 reset function?  Don't they both restore to factory settings?  I was thinking the difference was that OEM = restore to how you got your laptop originally, and Win 8.1 reset = clean install w/o any drivers or programs aside from basic windows OS.
    2. After I upgraded to Windows 8.1 my screen "blinks" after I input my password and press enter to login.  It's not a black screen of death or anything, it literally just blinks once and proceeds as normal.  Is that something I should be worried about?  I have not been able to find anything online about it (most search results talk about black screen problems or flickering problems, while mine is literally just an ADD annoyance.)  This only started happening after I upgraded from 8 to 8.1
