MSI GT620 sudden blank screen

hi,
now i wonder if anyone can help me, but yesterday i got a deal on a msi gt620 video card and after installing windows 7 and all my updates and drives, i was speaking with a member of family on skype and all of a sudden my screen just went totally blank. Now i'm not to familiar with nividia cards as ive always trusted ati, but for a steal deal with 2 gig of ram who could ever sniff it out, anyway i was wondering if anyone could advise if its a defective card from a batch as if so i only have 8 days entitlement to return it back to the place of purchase for a  return refund... thank you for reading

hi,
thanks for that, allready used the driver that came with the disc as that was my first option and as after installing that it decided to go blank again, however i have 8 days to excersice my rights to take it back to the place of purchase... so your reccomendations would be???
As its not behaving as it should with a continuous signal, I would suggest you return it to the shop and get a replacement unit as that one is obviously faulty if its just doing all the time regardless of drivers as you have 8 days left I would do it ASAP and get it switched out.

  • Sudden blank screen, now not working

My early 2011 MacBook Pro was working normally, I was reading an Ebook and getting ready to play an online poker game, when suddenly a blank screen (initially white, the whole screen). I restarted, and the first time it seemed like it would be OK, then I got an error message saying there was a graphics problem, and it would be reported. I tried to restart VMware Fusion (for the poker game), and it began to open, then the whole screen turned dark grey. Subsequent attempts to restart-- I get the Apple logo and the indicator line beneath, but the pixels look funny, like there is horizontal but not vertical response, and it reloads about a third of the way and shuts down-- repeatedly. I am using my older IMac right now, but there is a lot of data in the MacBook that I use daily-- need to fix it as soon as possible-- and this is happening at a moment when I don't have any money, and I need the computer to find or make some…….
Any useful feedback would be much appreciated.

  • MSI 790GX-G65 Blank Screen on boot.

I finally decided to upgrade my computer and I am having an issue unfortunately. Please take a look and see if you can give me any advice.
    Mobo: MSI 790GX-G65
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz
    RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
PSU: Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-DB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply
    Output     +3.3V@22A,+5V@15A,+12V1@14A,+12V2@16A,
    [email protected], [email protected]
I have isolated the problem to these components, attempting to turn it on the CPU fan turns on and LEDs on the motherboard all turn on but my monitor receives no input at all, boot screen, no blinking cursor, no nothing. the computer doesn't beep, if it wasn't for the blank screen I wouldn't have a problem. I don't know how to determine which part is the problem as I don't have parts to switch out but I need to figure out something soon If I am going to have to be returning stuff.
I have read other posts on the forums and one of the first things you guys mention as being the problem is the PSU and I have considered upgrading it to AZZA Dynamo 850
    Output     +3.3V@24A, +5V@32A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A, +12V3@20A, +12V4@22A,[email protected], [email protected]
I realize it doesn't have the +12v amps that everyone is recommending on a single rail but would this be workable with my set up for a casual gamer on a budget(the PSU is on a special right now with a case for cheap)
    Thanks for helping.

    Hello!
All LEDs are Go? It doesn't sound like a BIOS problem, more of a power/processor thing, but update 1.2 is required.
    All LEDs light up.

Check that all plugs of the wires from the PSU are fully seated in their sockets and that the 4/8 pin power for the CPU is plugged in. Usually labeled JPW1, JPWR1 or something similar.
All wires are plugged in solidly and the PSU is fully seated

Try with less memory; a single stick nearest to the processor.
I tried with both sticks individually, same result. Blank Screen

Corsair VX550W +12V~41A single rail would be a very good one for you especially if you might want to get a halfway decent VGA card later on down the road. I'm assuming you are using onboard graphics since you didn't list a separate card.   http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004
Right, I ordered a HD 4770 seperately and it came a day later, the screen receives no input whether I plug in from the onboard video or the video card.

Get a quality PSU, please. An 850W PSU doesn't cost 60$, have a half hidden amps list, and come with blue LEDs. Better a quality 500W than a lousy 850W. How would you fancy this one?

Like Fredrik said, a cheap junk PSU is still a cheap junk PSU no matter how many watts it claims to have. That's the mistake far too many people make is getting cheap with a PSU which is the heart of a system and when they take a dump it more than likely will take other components with it. I'm sure you've read plenty of that if did much reading of things regarding PSU's on this forum.
Thanks for the PSU suggestions and advice, I'll be a better shopper when it comes to PSUs.
Thanks for the suggestions but nothing worked, I guess I will be contacting newegg and telling them something doesn't work and let them sort it out.

  • Sudden blank screens

Since about half year, i get random blank screens on my Mid 2010 Macbook Pro. First i thought, its Firefoxcausing the problem, and it didnt happen often. But since about a week (since Lion.....), it happens (still randomly) every day! Every time i have to hold down the power Button and force-reboot. And i tried using Chrome only, so i can almost surely say, that it isnt Firefox.
I passed RAM tests (memtest on terminal), used TechTool Deluxe from my earlier AppleCare, nothing showed an error.
After some study of forums, i've read, that it is probably the graphics card? I run gfxcardstatus to force integrated graphics only and since then i hadnt a problem.
So i'm right with the assumption, that Apple is building in alot of defectuous parts, with people all around the globe with the same problems, but since i have no more applecare, the replacement will cost me money?

  • MSI CX61 issue - blank screen, amber power button. Help appreciated.

    Good evening,
I have an issue with my MSI CX61. If anyone can help I'll be very grateful.
The notebook is unmodified it has all the original hardware straight from the box.
The issue is that the MSI, when turned on, seems to access the hard drive for a second before the blue led that indicates hard drive access stops blinking. The MSI doesn't even reach the logo. It is completely unusable, there is nothing on screen, at present I cannot access bios.
The battery led to show the notebook is charging starts off blue and then turns orange.
The power button is persistently Amber.
    What I have attempted:
I have attempted to run the computer directly off the battery, battery taken out, and the problem persists.
I have connected my laptop, via HDMI cable, to a TV while turning the notebook on; the TV stays blank but appears to receive a signal
The harddrive is working while attached to another laptop, it can access all my data.
If this is important the last thing I did was install steam. The problem started when my computer cut out. No warning, it still had battery also.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
    Jharris

Ok hi, it seems like you might have the windows black screen error and its because of faulty windows updates, it usually occurs on windows 8 systems but might occur on others too. What i suggest is to set it back in time before you installed steam and now you can do this by pressing f8 or f9 or shift f8 or shift f9 or f10 or f11 when starting your laptop.
Try the different keys just spam click it really while restarting or booting cold your laptop and test all the keys im 100% sure one of them should work or maybe its another key but u should come to windows recovery options and from there u choose reset. Try it and tell me if it worked thanks!

my iphone 5 suddenly has a white blank screen,  no liquid contact or history of fall, what can i do with this problem?

    Hey there Galileo,
It sounds like your iPhone screen is solid white and you cannot do anything with it. Take a look at these steps from the following article about that kind of issue:
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

My iPhone has suddenly stopped working. It now says the battery is dying and to charge it. After charging it for over an hour, there is no change. The power won't come on, and I am left with a blank screen advising me to plug my phone into the charger.

Try different USB Cable, try different Charger. Clean iPhone charging port with clean dry toothbrush. If still problem and you have Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, most likely it could be battery or charging port assembly that need replacement.

  • Doesnt boot Black/Blank screen when a cd-rom is connected - MSI x58 Platinum

    OCZ OCZ700MXSP 700W SLI/CrossFire Active PFC
    geforce 280gtx
    Windows 7 64bit
This is a build working perfectly for over a year.. well one day my mom turned off the computer when I got home it wouldn't boot I disconnected/reseated everything and was able to figure out if I didn't have my dvd drive hooked up it will boot perfectly fine. I should note that the drive shows up fine in the bios and that with a pata hard drive it will load windows fine.
I've tried 2 pata drives and 1 sata drive all working/tested in other machines .. and it stops at the same exact spot every time right after the bios and before the Windows logo would normally pop up it will just sit on a black/blank screen forever. I have never heard of a issue like this where it wasnt the ide channel going bad or the drive itself but since a harddrive on the ide channel works i assume its good.
I didnt know if i should post this in the windows 7 64bit forum or this but im leaning towards motherboard as the issue because it still freezes at same exact spot even with no hard drives connected , so I couldnt boot anything from the dvd-drive. I'm also thinking its the mobo because i had it repaired a year ago, see my old thread here
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=127312.msg958264#msg958264
Any idea's or suggestion please let me know.

A PSU acting up can cause some strange things to happen. Have you confirmed that the DVD drive is working correctly?

    Greetings
    I got two VGA cards:

    2) RX300HM-TD128E
    On different PC's
The two card work fine in Windows & Games

I tested the cable on my laptop (Acer) it worked fine.
Now i used it on the two MSI cards, i went to:
Control panel => display ==> settings ==> advanced ==> display
I saw that the On/Off icon near the TV turned RED i click on it and click Apply then ok
I looked at my TV there is nothing just blank screen
So what seems to be the problem???

U need to press the connector in real firm.

  • MSI K8N TV tuner card gives blank screen?

Now besides other problems, My TV tuner card, that has and still does , run perfectly normal in every other board I have. Abit KV8, KV8-Pro, and NF7S, gives me black blank screen after watching it for more than 5 minutes. I have never had any such problems before. I have read all support at Hauppage and found no mention of this problem.
When I take it out of this board and put it into another machine, it works perfect.
    Help please.

    Hauppage TV Tuner Card
    Win XP-Pro
All normal updates etc, graphics drivers, DX9c
Never had this many problems with a Mobo since using cheapo Elite MB.

I have been seeing some amazing video using my msi TV-Tuner card (older card) and HDTV S-video inputs from my digital HDTV cable box.  I understand what SteveK is saying about how S-video is not capable of displaying 1080i, but dang it looks awesome using dscaler.  I did some searching and this guys says:
A better solution is S-video. Almost all players have s-video output. S-video looks much better than composite video, and only slightly inferior to component video. Hook an s-video cable from the player to the display (or to an A/V receiver that can switch s-video). The round, 4-pin connectors may be labelled Y/C, s-video, or S-VHS.
    Link found here:  http://www.home-theater-faq.com/whats_the_difference_between_composite_s-video_component_and_rgb_video.htm
Anyway I found some similar links that said about the same.  In any case, if anyone wants to play with the HDTV viewing using dscaler and an HDTV s-video connection, it might be of interest.
