[Roberts are the dream of every man] one of my close fellows said. Actually, I am not a 3C fans. But it is really excited that Titan Fall is online now. So I made a tough decision that I never did it before. I purchased the [MSI GT70 2PC Dominator] with last year bounds.

There is MSI log on the top of box. Furthermore, I must said the Dragon log is so fashion and beautiful. That is a nice backpack which we can carry it outside anytime.

In my own opinion, I like this kind of design.

After the quick test, it is time to install my game.
I find a secret app in the tray of task bar during the game installation.
YA! That is SSE (Steelseries Engine). I can set my own hotkey, backlight LED and combo key with this good friend.
SSE is a smart app. It recognized my GT70 and my mouse immediately when I launch the app.
Sorry again. I was wrong because I don’t need a mouse driver. The SSE can control all of the actions. It is so sweet.

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator Wifi Dropping

Hi there, new user here, first of all I have already read the existing post regarding wifi drops and fixes. To clarify, below are the steps that I have taken as per suggestions that i found on the net:
1. Uninstalled the Killer Gaming Network manager program and only using the wifi/lan drivers.
2. Re installed updated killer gaming network manager and drivers from both MSI and Killer websites.
3. Change the maximize the power saving mode in the battery section for wireless adapter.
4. Unable the power management settings in the network wireless via network and sharing centre.
5. Use several different drivers via the update drivers window in network adapter (via device manager)
- ive used the standard killer n1202 drivers.
- ive used the qualcomm atheros wireless network adapter (both microsoft and qualcomm)
- currently using the qualcomm atheros ar9462 802.11a/b/g/n wifi adapter
These are the steps that i've taken, one of the many that i can remember doing at the moment. Still to this day my wifi issue persist.
I refuse to believe that this is a hardware issue because the current GT70 that i am using is a brand new laptop that MSI has given me after I RMAed my earlier GT70. So you can say this is the 2nd laptop they've provided to me after making a hell lot of noise to them because my first GT70 had an unknown issue 1 week after light usage.
I've ran out of ideas on what to do, i've been sucking this up for the past 3-4 months as i cant find a fix. I've done everything i can except updating the bios, which i was advised not to since I do not know how to flash or update my bios (whichever term you call it).
My wifi drops so often and I keep having to flush my dns (using ipconfig /flushdns) every 30 mins or so just to able to use the net, much less play any games.
So i was wondering if there was any steps that I missed? Im really in desperate need for help as i no longer know what to do.
I appreciate any help that you guys can provide. Thank you very much!

Just a quick update on my wifi after installing two different 'realtek drivers' from the MSI website.
It's still too early to tell, I will update further once i start gaming.

UPDATE
After 2 hours of gaming and surfing the web, i didn't had to constantly flush my dns. Although my wifi bar alternates between 4 and 5 bars, im guessing this is normal (as the wireless modem isn't in my room but the room opposite mine).
So far so good, is it a coincidence? I am not too sure, give me a few more days of test run and it'll be more conclusive. I say you guys should update your drivers, no harm in trying right?

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator USB 3.0 Issues

Hey folks,
Hopefully somebody can be of assistance, me and my friend both purchased the MSI GT70 2PC a couple of months ago, fantastic laptop by the way. The only issue that both of us have been experiencing is with the USB 3.0 ports.
The problem is that when we connect a USB 3.0 External HDD it occasionally works fine but more often than not it will continually connect and disconnect almost as if it is not getting the correct amount of power. Now we both work in a computer repair shop so we have tried all of the basics, ensuring drivers are up to date, changing the HDD cable and due to where we work we have managed to test over 5 different brands of USB 3.0 external drives, used and brand new, all of which work fine on other computers via USB 3.0
Having read a few posts it seems that others have experienced this but there is no solution that I have found. Is there something we have missed or is this awaiting a driver update? The laptop is fantastic for my development needs however a £1300 laptop that can't reliably connect to a USB 3.0 drive is somewhat disappointing - I remain optimistic that there is indeed a solution!

The USB 3.0 high-speed electric signal is easy to be interfered and this will make the device suffer intermittent connections/disconnections. Not every USB 3.0 device suffered by this. It depends on the quality of the circuits between the USB device and the mainboard of the laptop.
1. Suggest you get a shorter USB 3.0 cable or an interference-resisted (magnetic shield) USB 3.0 cable. Some problems can be resolved by this.
2. Update the firmware of your external USB devices. Some problems can be resolved by this.
3. Return the laptop to the MSI authorized service providers or your local dealers for inspection on the USB ports. They can make sure your USB ports do work in the spec. or not.

Msi gt70 2pc dominator wlan

Hey guys its me again, i have a question which i cant seem to find on the net.
In the msi gt70 2pc dom driver page there seems to be two wlan driver; killer gaming wlan driver and intel wireless driver (beta).
What are the differences between the two? I cant seem to find the intel wireless driver on my device manager despite installing the beta intel wireless driver. As im still having issues with the killer driver, i was wondering if i could use the intel driver. Thx

The GT702PC has a Killer Wireless N1202 network adapter. There is no Intel adapter in the laptop (source: device manager).
Edit - This is a Qualcomm Atheros device, so if you absolutely must start messing around with drivers, first step is the driver disc that came with the laptop, then MSI's site, then Qualcomms site.
Extra edit - According to Qualcomm's site, the most up to date driver for this device is V10.0.0.274, which is the driver I currently have installed on my laptop/for this device. If you also have this driver installed, it's as up to date as it gets. You could try DL'ing it from Qualcomm's site & reinstalling it once you've ruled out other causes for any problem you're seeing

Touchpad MSI GT70 2PC DOMINATOR

Hey guys!
First of all, i'm new here and I will give a short introduction to myself: I'm a Belgian finances/insurances student who plays Battlefield 3/4 on his laptop.
Since I upgraded my HP laptop to my GT70 i've had one very big problem: the usability of the touchpad! My previous laptop support multiple touch gestures. I've looked into my settings and normally my touchpad SHOULD support double finger scroll, but actually doesn't work. Only the one-finger scroll works. This was a feature that I used A LOT on my old laptop so I was wondering if it is a software problem or hardware problem? I have installed the recommended MSI driver (due to the fact that the driver from the Synaptics website won't install on my GT70).
I have contacted MSI support, but as usual with company support, it will propably take 2 months before I get a reply!
So hopefully the goeroes from this forum are able to help!

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator problems

My laptop has 3 recurring problems. First, the fan noise is really loud when almost playing any modern game. And even when not playing games, the fan noise is audible. I am just worried that there could be a problem with the fan, so should I replace it?. The second problem is the CPU temperature. It reaches up to 90 degrees Celsius when playing games and I fear that this is not normal, do you guys think its normal?. Finally, I have an issue with the Killer N1202 wireless adapter. As online games especially League of Legends, is almost unplayable at times. The amount of lag spikes I get is immense. I tried using Ethernet and it seemed a lot more stable. However, I tried that for about one day when the net was not at its worst. I fear that its a hardware issue for all those mentioned problems . Tell me what you think guys. Any help is much appreciated

Thanks for the reply. I tried contacting MSI by email and no reply yet. I did register my product, yet when I try to send a support ticket, there is no option for laptop and when I click on register my product (even though I did it a long time ago). it redirects me to the MSI International login page. When I make an account in the international site, it redirects me to the login page of the US and Canada website.Its really messed up...therefore I can't send a support ticket.
I bought my laptop about 4 months ago. Also, can you instruct me on how to update EC firmware, as I'm not really familiar with that stuff. Also, do you have the same laptop? because I can't seem to update my drivers from the MSI website. On the Canadian MSI website, my laptop model is in the list yet there aren't any windows 8 or 8.1 drivers. Only a windows 7 driver.
I did turn off my bluetooth, but no results. I also unchecked the box that turns off the wireless network to save power. but I still get unstable ping on LoL. Football manager 15 is not really demanding, yet the fan goes insane during the match which is in 3d but not even that good of a quality. Do you recommend using GT70 Fan Control V1.6.3 setup? or it might cause more hardware problems? I appreciate your help

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator (happens to similar msi's too) WiFi Spikes/in-game lags and freezes IMPORTANT

Ok so I've been searching this all around, it is a common issue. I have tried many fix's but if anyone has an idea please suggest. If anyone has had this issue and now it's fixed please tell me. It is clearly the wifi hardware or software from MSI. I first thought it was the router or my wifi but tested several different wifi spots and had it on 5 bars. Also it doesn't freeze or spike at all when I use the cable.
So please if ANYONE has had this issue please post here, thank you

MSI GT70 2PC dominator not using dedicated video card

Hi well for the past two weeks ive been having fps and perfomance issues in games like diablo 3, path of exile, guildwars 2, but there was an interesting point in path of exile at the option select screen and it says choose adapter and its stuck using integrated graphics card this could be the problem for most of my games, of course i went to nvidia setting and chose to use the nvidia card as global and changed the setting to use it individually for each game, my nvidia drivers are up to date 344.11 i swear i thought it was something else causing these problems but i can be sure now that i saw this problem in path of exile, everything is set so games use the GTX 870m but i wouldnt be having these kind of problem if it were in use right? please i really need help here, there must be something wrong i bought this notebook 4 weeks ago for 1600$us from bestbuy, you know how i feel :( i just wanna play my games as smooth as possible!!!

Beside the update you should do, if the problem still remains, I'll suggest to roll back the graphics driver to the version from MSI website.
*Make sure that you completely uninstall all NVIDIA related programs in Control Panel> Uninstall a program before the installation.

MSI GT70 2PC dominator heating problems

All my games get choppy sound and stuttering image when the GPU reaches 75C or more celcius, even with cooling boost activated game wont work, tought these computers could handle higher temperatures...

I did everything you told me to do did the f3 restore thing downloaded the drivers from the website updated EC/BIOS/VBIOS and still got the same problem, im not getting any decent and valuable help anyway.. and i cant send this Notebook to MSI because i live to far away from it, im just gonna have to sell it for half the price i bought it.. and never buying anything from this brand again..

Is there anyway I can get more fps?
In CS:GO I usually get 130-180 fps, when playing on maximum resolution (1920x1080). I'm really new, I heard that overclocking does make it better.

MSI GT70 2PC DOMINATOR - HDD constantly 100%

Im new to the forum and just bought and msi gaming laptop last week. Having some trouble though, my hdd seems to go on 100% activity according to task manager on win 8 - 64bit.
Any ideas? It´s really slow on loading general stuff, and even worse on games.

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator - trackpad switch light not working

Hi All,
Brand new GT70 user here. Love the computer so far.
But I made the mistake of trying to install new trackpad drivers from Synaptics, which didn't work. For some reason they fail to install in Windows 8.1.
So I reinstalled the drivers from the CD that came with my computer. After reinstalling the driver, the trackpad switch light no longer turns on and off.
The switch itself works. I can use it to turn off the track pad, and I can use it to turn it back on. Doesn't matter whether or not I have a USB mouse plugged in. But the light that used to come on when I turned the trackpad off now fails to do so. Any idea what could be causing this? It's not a huge deal, but I'm being picky since the computer is only a couple of days old.
My other lights work (caps lock, num lock, everything along the top of the keyboard), just not that one little light.

OK, another update, in case anyone is following along.
For some reason, Windows 8.1 is detecting two HID-compliant mice every time my system boots up. I've disabled the one that isn't actually my mouse (Logitech M310) and had some success.
With Synaptics Driver Version 17.0.9.1 installed and the mystery mouse disabled in Device Manager, my Touchpad switch now lights up whenever my Logitech mouse is plugged in, and it turns off whenever it is unplugged. That's pretty much good enough for me.
But sith the mouse plugged in, I cannot turn the trackpad on and off using the switch. The light just stays on.
When the mouse is unplugged, I can disable and enable the trackpad using the switch, but the light doesn't turn on and off, which is still different behavior from when I first got the computer. I'm guessing there's something goofed up in the registry somewhere, but I don't know what to look for and don't want to play with it any more.
That will teach me to install new mouse drivers!!
If anyone figures out what the deal is, I'd much appreciate a solution. I've considered restoring my system, but I don't think it's important enough to take it that far.

MSI GT70 2PC Dominator, how to know if all cores are at their 100%

Hi, i would like to know (for gaming proposes) if all my CPU cores are running at the their 100%? ive been having some issues with games, and a friend told me if there is no powersaving features enabled on your notebook, i have checked power options and everything is running fine, but it seems somehow that the cores aren't running at their maximum performance, i usually just plug the notebook to the AC adapter without the battery and play like that, any suggestions? maybe something from the BIOS? ty!

According to the situation, there should be no problem with the unit.
Now it's good to have some more information of the issue, but there are still some parts which you didn't mention.
Also, it's important that you don't mix up all problem together since they may have totally different cause. For example, sound delay in game is different with the music playing in Spotify.
Form what I've read, you have issues I list out below:
1. 0.2 secs screen tearing.

You can try to adjust the graphics settings(use the proper graphics setting) in game by turning off different graphics settings one on one and turn the V-sync "ON" to avoid screen tearing. (when the V-Sync is on, the FPS will only at either 60 or 30, so to find a optimize graphics setting is important.)
2. Watch Dogs crashing after 20 mins play.

Q1: Can you explain what kind of crash do you have when playing Watch Dogs?
For example: system hang and you have to force shut down, auto shut down, BSOD, system auto restart...

Q1: What's the choppy sound you mean? Do you mean lantency? or the sound is missing? It's better that you can provide a sound file for us?
Q2: Are you listening to the local music files or online music files?
If the files are on your HDD, it could have the latency from HDD's power saving feature and like I mentioned BEFORE, the crystal disk info or HDDAlive can help with the problem.
4.Problems with the latest graphics driver 344.11.

Issues with a GT70-2PC Dominator

Morning everyone.
I am an italian customer who has recently bought an MSI GT70-2PC Dominator. I am kinda new to the mobile gaming thing, so please apologize me for whatever you judge unappropriate.
As I stated in the topic subject above, I'm having some performance issues on this laptop while I'm gaming.. I'm talking about lag and throttling. The game I've been testing is Ghost recon Phantoms (online FPS), but it's not very high-resource demanding, compared to last gen titles.. so I shouldn't have problems running it!
I have updated all the common drivers expect for a couple of them i'm not really sure about updating.. basically when I went to the msi download page for my laptop, there is one tab which displays 'firmware' - and contains not only firmwares, but also a vga bios.
I have not updated:
BIOS
VBIOS
Firmware
My questions are:
N.A) Is updating these drivers gonna improve my overall laptop performance?
1) Which bios should i update? 50y or 70y? I don't use raid, i'm asking just to be sure
2) How can i update the VBIOS? I couldn't find a tutorial for it, can you explain it to me?
3) How can i update the firmware? And which one of the twos (1513 and 2513) should i install? Again, can't find a tutorial for this.
I have Win 8.1 as OS.
Hope to solve my issues as soon as possible so I can start enjoying my new laptop! Thanks in advance guys.

I'll start with my normal speech....
How do you know it was throttling? You don't give any temperature information or anything else.....
What color was your power button when you were gaming? If it was white....well, you were using the Intel iGPU and not the NVidia, which would explain why you were seeing lagging and what you thought was 'throttling'.
I saw this recently myself when I ran Brutal Legend for the first time....it was still using the Intel iGPU. As soon as I setup the NVidia driver to switch for the game, suddenly everything worked AWESOMELY, and it was great.
Give a bit more information (specifically temperature, and color of the power button. Use MSI Afterburner if you need to) and we'll see what the next steps should be.
