MSI GT70 - which ones are required drivers and apps? Which ones are optional?

I have MSI GT70 0ND but I suppose lots of things will overlap with other GT70 even GT60 owners (Windows 8 x64). So which onces are needed and what are they? I will post some that I know, then ask you about the rest:

Well, you don't know what SCM is. It's the System Control Manager. It is the most important tool at all. It is required for the system to work properly no hotkey will work without. Even e.g. enabling/disabling WLAN wouldn't work.

The Intel lan driver is for the Intel lan, Qualcomm WLAN Killer N1202+ Bluetooth is for the additional Killer NIC.

You need it if your notebook came with the optional Super Raid and before installing Win8.

It's the driver for the cpu's integrated gpu which is used for non-3D applications instead of the GeForce.

This is used to utilize the gpu's boost via the turbo button if using SCM as well. It doesn't allow any manual overclocking.

MSI GT70 Help with finding NVIDIA drivers

I just bought an MSI GT70 which has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M GPU. I tried updating to the latest driver detected by my Nvidia Experience (v.320.490) but, it gave me an error that it is unable to install because the hardware cant be detected. I tried the next best thing which is the main Nvidia website. When I tried the Detect my Gpu button and it detected it it said "Your product manufacturer requires you to download a driver for your device from their website". So I went to the MSI website but I can't seem to find the notebook driver. Also tried the Live Update but that seems to only update your inegrated graphics. I need some help updating my GPU guys. Thanks in advance.

Thanks It Installed but I'm afraid I hit a road block. You see when I installed the driver I tried to go the Nvidia Control Panel and I couldn't find it. I checked my Nvidia Experience and it says that my driver is up to date but when I looked at My Rig panel but the GPU section is blank. Thought it was odd so i went to Device Manager to check whats up. Under Device Status I had this message "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)". I tried restarting the laptop a few times with an extremely horrible results. Every time I restarted my computer just started with a black screen and froze there ( I waited 30 minutes and I'm sure that was enough to know it froze). Although I did find a back door which was um.. I'm not sure which Fx it was because I just spammed them all ( this was after the multiple restarts). This took me to a menu which gave me the option to start windows normally able to access the laptop. From here I thought to Roll Back the driver. To my luck this was a success now my computer works fine and I am able to access the Nvidia control panel like nothing happen. I'm sure it the correct driver since its the same laptop I bought. Now this is were I need help from you guys any ideas why the driver is doing this? ( Oh and I re-downloaded and installed the driver a few times so I know there is a problem.) How to Install ATI drivers and apps using MDT 2010

Hi, I am a greenhand for the Windows7 deployment via MDT.
I am currently facing an issue, I downloaded the ATI drivers from Dell Offical website (I am using Dell laptop), they I extracted the driver files using the 7zip, then imported the files to the MDT Out-of-box drivers, but this could only import the driver files,
for the application, MDT couldnot import.
Is there anyway to import the both Drivers and App of the ATI together to MDT, thus when deploying the windows, the drivers and app of ATI can be installed along with the Windows OS.
Appreciate your comments/suggestions. thanks in advance.

MSI GT70 0ND : Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

I just bought a MSI GT70 0ND 1212xfr :
CPU : i7-3630QM
GPU : Nvidia GTX 675MX
RAM : 8 Go
HDD : 750 Go 7200 trs/min
OS : Windows 8.1 (installed by myself)
I tried several drivers but i always get this error message when the laptop has to switch on the GTX 675MX instead of the Intel HD4000 :

Already done and it didn't change anything but i found a temporary solution : i set the nvidia parameters to start my game with the GTX, the message still appears but next the game is running with the GTX. I didn't try with another game. I hope it will works too.

USB/Serial Drivers and App Builder Installer Questions...are drivers included in the Installer with the LV runtime engine?

Hello all,
I'm wondering if someone can help me out with how drivers and all are treated with applications distributed with App Builder, used to create a stand alone, full install of app and labview engine with Installer.
What has happened is, my application was created using the NI branded USB to RS232...and USB to RS485, and they work great.
On the application when running..you fire it up, it finds the USB to serial device, and I have a dropdown that finds the available COM ports to use (along with setting parity, etc).
I've installed on different computers (without previous labview installs) with the installer. They all worked.
The customer has received the installer....and despite us telling them to use the NI branded USB/Serial interfaces..they are trying to work with a different USB/serial cable.
They say the COM ports aren't even showing up when they run the installed application.
So, I'm not sure where to start. Is this a driver issue? Does the App Builder Installer...install the drivers for the interfaces I was using with it? Is there a way for the person to find and install a driver on their own...or would I have to somehow find out a driver for what they use....then, basically redo the App Builder Installer build...to include that driver with the executable I send back out?
I guess I basically need a better understanding of how drivers for external access/communications are handled when you use App Builder to create a stand alone application complete with the labview runtime engine...and nothing else.

The main thing is that LV uses VISA to talk to serial port whether native on the machine or from USB dongles that you plug into the computer. It sounds to me like their dongles aren't working.
Can the customer see the ports in the Windows Device Manager? Can they access them through something like hyperterminal? How does your program find the USB/Serial devices?

Upgrading OS...how to reload all drivers and apps?

I am upgrading my P755-S5395 to Windows 7 Professional. I plan to put in a new drive and install the OS from stretch. Instead of downloading, searching and installing each device driver one-by-one, is there a better way to install all the proper device drivers in one shot?
I seem the Recovery process automatically installing all the drivers, but since I am installing a new OS, how do I get Recovery process only to recover device drivers and applications?
Appreciate any pointers.

Burn recovery media and restore to the new drive. See the sections Creating recovery DVDs/media, which begins on p. 74, and the section Restoring from recovery DVDs/media on p. 76 of the User's Guide.

Then apply Windows Anytime Upgrade, which takes only a few minutes and leaves all the drivers and utilities intact.
Upgrade to another edition of Windows 7 by using Windows Anytime Upgrade
All the versions of Windows are present in Home editions. It's just a matter of unlocking the additional features.

When will WIndows 8 64-bit drivers and apps be available for download

It's a bit frustrating that I can't get Windows 8 drivers and applications for my Satellite P775 because of a buggy Windows 8 Update Assistant: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=68918&tstart=0
I'm happy to download and install the relevant components manually. Do you plan to make these available for download and if so when? The web site did indicate that they would be available in time for the Windows 8 release - which is today.

Hi JoeJoe as far as I know all notebooks which were shipped with the Win 7 and are part of the Win 8 Upgrade Assistant will get the Win 8 drivers via this Upgrade Assistant. All newer notebooks series which are already shipped with the Win 8 will be able to download the drivers manually
Furthermore other it seems that Win 8 drivers will be released in three different steps

MSI GT70 0NC-070NE problems with KLM and S-Bar after Live Update

Hey there.
Last night i decided to update my laptop with the newest drivers, so i launched Live Update and got startet.
When it was done with all of the updates, and had rebooted, both S-Bar and KLM wouldn't start. I clicked the button to have windows try and fix it online, but it didn't help.
After that i tried to update them to the newest version, and that didn't help either.
Is this a know issue, or am i just unlucky? Can it maby be solved with installing Win8, as im doing that in a few days from now?

Make sure you have installed also NET Framework before you use KLM and S-Bar and I really don't recommend to use Live Update, if you want to update your drivers to the latest just go to the manufacurer's website in download section. Don't forget to choose your version of windows before downloading!

Windows 7 Enterprise 64-Bit on a TouchSmart Elite 7320 drivers and apps issues

First off, very few of the 64-bit Windows 7 Drivers on the HP site work, but I was eventually able to get it working for the most part.
My issue is that they would like to have the HP apps installed (what used to be called the Smart Center and the Cyberlink apps). I have tried to find them on the HP site and, of course, no luck.
I have even tried accessing the Recovery Manager to see if they can be installed from there but it only opens to Explore the files, there is no boot option or executable.
Any suggestions on how I can get a) valid HP drivers that will work and b) the TouchSmart apps

My freind welcome to HP forum. What are you doing? My freind you have the right ideal but going about the wrong way. Please follow my direction to the tee. Click on start button then go to all programs search box . In the search box type in recovery manager. Now above it will be listed now open this one up. Select Software Program Reinstallation click next in next window bing go list is now open now at a time select your software. Now you have selected software to you see that button on bottom of list called Next click it. Bingo Presto! Please follow wizards commands. You can only install one program at a time so repeat steps as many time it takes.
Now for divers do the same steps above but this time select Hardware Driver Reinstallation.
If for some reason this should fail then I suggest you do a full recovery from recovery disc you made because your (D Drive is corrupted. By sounds of in your post it is. Or you can order a set of recovery disc from HP's parts store. MSI GT70 2OD Nvidia Drivers

Is there a reason why MSI GT70 2OD owners are unable to upgrade to the latest Nvidia Drivers for their 780M?
Other brands with the 780M seem to be able to upgrade (Alienware, Clevo etc), but the drivers won't work with the MSI Laptop.
Will we only be able to get drivers from MSI for this laptop, or in the future will we be able to install drivers from Nvidia?

When the GT70's originally came out with the GTX6XX cards in them, they didn't have support from NVidia for a few driver releases. I expect that within the next few driver releases, support will be added.
Most likely, it should be possible to make the new drivers work if you did some INF editing though.....

Turbo mode MSI GT70

I recently upgraded to a 256GB SSD as my main drive on my MSI GT70, I installed windows 7 64bit and reinstalled all the drivers and programs from the MSI notebook disc and the ones i could find on the website.
Now my Turbo button does nothing, when i touch it the light comes on but it doesn't go into to overclock mode and the light shuts off after about 2-3 seconds...
Are there more drivers i need for this feature? If so where can i get them?...

Some users want more (I run mine actually at around 1 GHz), and you can still get there with this if you know what you're doing.

As far as this user's problem, have you installed the VGA Overclock application as well? If that isn't installed, then the turbo button will not function properly.

MSI GT70 2PC laptop bags..

Been looking for a Laptop bag(messengerbag style?) that can hold and protect the MSi GT70 2PC Dominator style laptops safely and securely. My current 17 inch Case Logic bag seems to be a tad bit to small and my Camera carrier Backpack doesn't fit.. The laptop is to thick haha.
Which one do you all recommend? I know that certain US brands are not available here or are simply outrageously expensive with international shipping tied to it.

I got 1 targus 17" bag and it fits MSI GT70 with adaptor easily.
I had a G75 before, but I can't find any 17" bag could fit it in.

MSI GT70 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Error

Having trouble using the Intel USB 3.0 on the MSI GT70 when using it with my Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle.
The Intensity Shuttle does work properly on my current EVGA X58 system.
When initializing the video on the Intensity Shuttle it blinks a few times and then the driver fails and can't reconnect. I made a short video that will sum it all up.
I've also spent hours updating to current MSI, Intel, Blackmagic, and Windows drivers.
Long story short... "It doesn't just work."
In case the link doesn't work please search youtube for "MSI GT70 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Error" and you'll find it.

Asked the guys at Blackmagic Design if they would be updating the driver to work with Intel 3.0 hubs and the new chipsets, this is their reply.
"We make the Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0 and software for it. The USB 3.0
solutions that are available, like the Intel USB 3.0 hubs would not
necessarily be made by a software implementation.
The issues can either be hardware or driver specific. If the Intensity
Shuttle on the MSI GT70 is not working, you can check the manufacture for
any software updates that they may have or make available."
So I'm guessing that they won't be updating their drivers specifically...
Could you please send me the "renesas usb 3.0 driver" that worked for your setup..?
