Msi GT780DXR wont start anymore

Hello,
For some reason my laoptop doesn't Start anymore. When I press the power button nothing happens, no lights,no fans, just nothing. It started this week with random shut downs but after that the laptop always rebooted on its own. Today however it was different.
The last thing I noticed was that the battery was low even though I had the loading cable plugged in.then after 5 minutes or so the laptop shut down like someone just killed the power. So because of the battery being so low at the end I thought something is wrong with the loading cable and so I tried a different cable, but had no luck either.
So the laptop won't start whatever I do: not with cable and battery together and not with the cable or a different cable alone. Already tried that 30second power button pressing thing but that didn't worked.
Any help or advice you guo can give me?

Turned out my problem was the gpu card was the cause. If your no longer under warranty, I suggest you remove the gpu, then plug the ac or battery in and see if it can turn on. If it does, your gpu probably died.

I hate to say this, but I think you should uninstall again, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 ) then runs MSconfig to turn off unnecessary startups including anti-virus and malware scanners and browser helpers and toolbars. then run the installer again from the actual Administrator account. Run MSconfig again after the install to return to normal startup.
Also, be sure your default printer is NOT a network printer (MS fax will do) and is ready for use for the first launch of ID.

TV 40TL933 wont start anymore

Hi there! I updated the firmware today and everything went fine for a couple of hours.But then while switching the channels the tv turned itself off and wont start anymore. The light on the front is green. I can't use the remote nor the switch on the side will work.Plugging-out and in had no effect. What can I do? I don't wanna RMA the tv because its quite a hassle with such a big screen. Any help you be great! CheersMarc

I'm having the same problem on my brand new (3 weeks) 40TL933. The screen suddenly turned black and the green light remains on. Short power chord unplugging does nothing (like one hour). This seems to be a recurring problem on these devices; is there anyone at Toshiba who's aware of this issue? I mean anyone else than Peter the mod of course. Isn't there any faster solution than leaving the TV unplugged for 24 hours? Like performing a force factory reset or a USB firmware flash? Thanks in advance for your support.

GS70-2PE wont start anymore

Hi,
recently my GS70-2PE began to hang on MSI logo and now it freezes there and wont let me enter bios or windows but if i unplugg both msata and the 1TB HDD that came with it and put in a 250GB HDD then it goes futher but then it shows MSI logo and then black screen with "-" on it :/ but then it also would let me boot into any boot able USB such my recovery USB but once i put msata and so back in then it continues freeze at MSI logo and also when i have 250GB HDD only it also wont let me enter bios due to it throwing "-" thingy on screen :/ i have tried EC reset does not fix it and last thing that may fix it is CMOS battery but i cannot remove it because doing so will void warranty because warranty is vaild to when upgrading and so as well but doing dissamble would void warranty :( so yeah i'm out of idea on how to solve this so i hope anyone has a fix.

well no thats not same issue i wrote xD what i mean is mine hangs on MSI logo and wont boot anymore at all and even if i spam DELETE button it remains stuck on MSI logo and boot into bios so i opened my laptop up took out all 3 storage drives powered laptop on and it still got stuck on MSI logo when it is supposto foce boot into bios but nope this time it wouldnt so i had no chooise and go closes store and have it sent to repair :( so i might be without laptop for 1-2 weeks or up to 20 days :(
Also coold boot can be done if you go to side bar then settings or w.e it's called then there shut down and it will turn windows 8 off completely and when you power it on again the MSI logo will appear for like 1-5 seconds or so and when that comes you can spam delete button to enter bios.

Edited gnome menus with Alacarte - gnome wont start anymore!

First off; I've had this problem about a year ago, and the only thing that repaired it was to reinstall Arch... I made a similar thread at the time, but didn't get any help.
I use Alacarte to edit my gnome menus, but when I delete the items that I dont use, the next time I try to log into the computer, gnome wont start. It stops loading the desktop while the splash-screen shows, and I can see the mouse-cursor and conky in the background, but no menus or panels, and the splash-screen wont go away either.
Luckily, this time I had both openbox and gnome installed, so I was able to use openbox to write this thread.
Anyone got any tips on how to fix this without reinstalling my os?

Okay so I found a way to work around this problem. If I create a new user it works again, BUT I want my old user back. If I delete my main user, and recreate it with the same username etc, will it use my old home directory with all my settings etc?

but my phone last night, received a call,(my battery was low) it rang as usual, but i could not answer as the touch screen would work, then after the it was done ringing(i missed the call) shut down to a black screen, then started to show up the white apple logo for 20 sec, then return to black screen for 1 sec. i put it to charge, with my apple charger all night, this am, it is still doing the same thing, flashing from the apple logo 20sec then black screen 1 sec. i tried to reset it , then do the home and power button 10 sec, tried to connect it to Itunes, nothing works, my itune does not even recognize the phone being connected, i checked the LCD liquid indicator thing, and they are both fine (clear/sliver) i just got it, never dropped it, and wont start up passed that apple logo screen, i m not sure what happened, anyone know ?
It s still under 30 days from purchase.

Well, here is the outcome, with the help of Lawrence and Allan, i have manage to place my phone in recovery mode, but after many attemps to restore it with Itunes, i had no success, and keep having the message (9) comming up saying something cause the restore to fail, so i contacted Apple support, as you guys said, was still covered on warranty, they helped me re-attempt everything, which took probly another hour, including removing Itunes & Quicktime and re-installing, and still nothing worked, basically, my phone is "toast", but with apple protection care plan, they are shipping me a replacement phone overnight, and i am sending them my old phone in a box,free of charges.
The worst in all this, is not having a cell phone for 3 days and so much time spend trying to troubleshoot it, but the outcome is good, i am happy that they are replacing it, and this discussion forum is very helpful, if anyone else gets this issue, try all these options, then, worst case you know, the phone is done. wonder if it s a bug in those new phones maybe ?

N97 wont start anymore

I recently bought a nokia n97, and when i installed the pc suite it told me that there was an update for my phone.
I started updating but around 15% my pc lost connection to my phone and never got it back again.
Now i cant seem to start my phone anymore :s
Anyone knows how to fix this?

After i insalled a keylogger, firefox wont start anymore. i've already unninstalled the keylogger and scanned my computer with 3 antispyware, there's nothing more on my computer, but still, firefox crashs everytime i try to open it. please help me

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

Windows 7 wont start anymore ; bootmgr is missing

Hi there,
Santa brought me a Toshiba laptop this year and I spent the night trying to install Arch Linux on it.
The machine came with two partitions, one containing Windows and one containing silly restauration files. I shrinked the second one to 10Go since it didnt need the 180Go it had, thus leaving room for Linux. This operation was made using Windows' graphical tool.
Then I booted on an Arch CD and entered manual setup for partitions.
It was like this :
sda1 * File System Unknown
sda2 NTFS //Windows
sda3 NTFS //Useless restauration
I made it this way :
sda1 * Linux (83)
sda2 NTFS //Windows
sda3 NTFS //Useless restauration
sda4 Extended
sda5 Linux (83)
sda6 Linux Swap / Solaris (82)
I mounted the filesystem's root to sda5 and the swap to sda6, and I told grub to install in sda1.
Windows wouldnt show up in grub ; I tried to tweak menu.lst but failed at solving the issue, now I suppose the Windows section was a comment but I didnt notice back then. Thus I thought I had done something wrong and I booted on the arch CD again and this time I mounted /boot to sda1 and installed grub to sda (and I assume sda meant MBR).
Windows still didnt show up in grub's menu. I looked at menu.lst again and noticed the windows section was preceded by # which made it useless. I removed the sharps and it still doesnt work (see below).
Now fdisk -l outputs :
sda1 Linux (83)
sda2 * HPFS/NTFS // (Why the fuck is this one bootable ? Oops ?)
sda3 HPFS/NTFS
sda4 Extended
sda5 Linux (83)
sda6 Linux Swap / Solaris (82)
menu.lst has :

Now Windows appear in the grub menu but when I try to boot it it says "BOOTMGR is missing, hit ctrl+alt+suppr to reboot".
Arch Linux still works fine.
I think I can fix the misplaced * by reinstalling again and remanaging partitions but I'm clueless about how to launch Windows 7 again. Could it be possible that the partition's content was wiped during the Archlinux install (I never touched it in the partition managing menus nor mounted anything there) ?

Thank you pointone, you helped me understanding what was going on and it's all good now.
sda3 was a recovery partition (there was a readme on it) and it was used when I put the recovery DVD in the machine. This DVD wasn't able to reinstall just the bootloader so it put everything back to factory settings.
I started all over and got it working, this time leaving untouched sda1 and putting grub on the MBR. My dual boot now works

Yes it does. Ive seen posts regarding other models about taking the battery out and holding the power button down but no joy. I've contacted msi who are supposed to be taking it back. Just wondered if there were any tricks to get it going without sending it back. It all sounds ready to go when you press the power button, its just that the light stays orange and no screen.

ITunes 7.0.1 wont start anymore

Lately I upgrade iTunes from iLife 06 to iTunes 7.0.1. with some difficulties. Today, I dont know why, iTunes doesn't want open. I get a crash report to send to Apple <Link (dyld) error:

Msi GX70 wont start after bios setting change

Hello, can someone help me with issue? I changed 3 things in bios:
I turn off integred graphic(i thinked that it will speed it up)
Changed boot from ssd disc instead of cd rom
and turn off logo from start.
now i cant start my computer
please help me with issue.
can i reset bios without dissasembly laptop?

I have done the same stupid thing few months ago, but I have just enter BIOS without display, just click DEL to enter BIOS (yes, it's still there, you don't see it, because you don't have a GPU at the moment) and from there click key responsible for Load BIOS to Factory Default (F9), then hit Enter, then just reboot with F10 key. You will have your system fully functional after reboot.
If you don't know which F key to click (I think it's F9 as far as I remember), you may use your arrows, hit right arrow 4 times (to Save & Exit), then 1 arrow down (to Load BIOS to Factory Default), hit Enter to load, hit Enter to confirm, reboot (F10 - Save & Reset).

I have updated my ipod mini and It wont start anymore! :(

I have installed the new update on my mini and then i follow everything correctly i connect my ipod to a ipod power adapter i did toggle the hold switch on and off and at last press and hold the menu and select button for at least 6 seconds...and it is dead meat....

That is true. you purchase one download only of music/vids/etc.
You can redownload apps only.
Did you update without making sure that you had transferred all purchases from the ipod to itunes? not good.

You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception. They are under no obligation to allow.

Gnome-panel sudenly crasched and wont start anymore

When I try to start gnome-panel I get this message:

I tried starting it again and it worked kinda, it will start atleast. But I couldnt log out via "System / Log Out johan.." (The last line).
