MSI gtx 560TI TFII fans

Hi everyone, before all, i'm sorry for my bad english.
I've got some troubles with my msi gtx 560 ti TFII. one of the fan is broken (two "fins", i don't know how you call that, are broken). it gets quite warm (i have to play in 1440x900 to get it under 60°C during games like assassin's creed brotherhood or batman arkham city, with medium setting.
I can't go any higher because over 60°C, the fans are getting very noisy, sounds like a plane in my case.
So, I'd like to know if I can replace my fans myself, where to buy it? And if I can put an aftermarket cooler on it. I've been told by arctic cooling that the accelero twin turbo II would fit, but it is out of stock everywhere here in belgium/france... Any other idea for a very quiet cooler?
Thanks.

No! Nvidia controlpanel was set to max perfomans and windows power options to high perfomance.
I changed nvidia to adaptive (windows stayed high perf) and now the clocks to come down again.
Thanks Svet!
There is still a OC problem when i set core clock over 1000MHz.
I just ran 3dmark11 at following overclock core     1040MHz
                                                              shader 2080MHz
                                                              memory 2100
                                                              core voltage 1.075+0.013
In results window the 3dmark11 says core clock 1040.
Afterburner 2.3.1 monitoring window says max core clock 1000
                                                                          shader 2000
                                                                          memory 2099
Although i´m not seeing shader adjusting bar in 2.3.1, there are  only core clock adjusting bar.
But adjusting a core clock will adjust shader x2. Am i right?

    Hey guys,
I have an MSI GTX 560ti Twin Froz II OC card which was giving me weird artifacts on desktop and many random places so i send the card to rma. They replaced it with a same model MSI GTX 560ti Twin Froz II OC card but since i got this card i am getting very high temperatures like it reaches 90-95 C in 10 minutes and keep rising with fan speed 100% in games like Dota 2,Grid 2 and many other games so is there anything i can do to solve this problem.
My Nvidia Driver Version- 320.14 i have even tried 320 but the same result.

its showing me the same version i have checked using nbitor. What do u think can be the problem of temperature rising so fast nearly 90+ in 1 min any guesses? cause my old 560 was working perfectly should i go and rma again?

  • MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk SLI not available

I have 2 MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk and when I go into Nvidia control panel SLI is not available as an option.
Both cards are visible and working properly in both the Device manager and the Nvidia control panel and the bridge is installed between the cards.
I am using Nvidia driver 285.62 which I have completely removed and reinstalled to try and solve the problem.
The only strange thing I noticed when installing the cards is that there is a small switch next to the SLI bridge that is marked Performance and Silent. When I opened the boxes one card had the switch was set to performance and the other was set to silent. Looking on the net I found that this was how aggressive the fan control was so I set them both to silent. After running into the problem of no SLI I also tried shutting down the machine and moving both switches to Performance but this didn't fix the issue.
Motherboard is a MSI Z68A-GD65 and Live update 5 says its up to date.
Any pointer on where to look would be appreciated.

K  problem sort of solved. I installed an old nvidia driver 270.61 and it works perfectly. Guess I'll just use the old drive until a game is giving me major issues and then see if a new drive is safe.

  • MSI GTX 560Ti TWIN FROZR II 1GB GDDR5

Currently I'm experiencing a problem where no matter what I'm doing, whether it is gaming or browsing, green/orange chequered squares appear exactly as in the picture below:
The problem lasts for a matter of seconds and then windows informs me that the drivers have recovered from a failure. This is very remininsant, but not identical, to when I had a 9800GT that died. This issue has only started within the last month and the card is over 6 months old. Is this likely to be a GPU issue?

Sadly I've no way of testing the card in another PC or a different PSU.
What is the likelihood that it is the PSU even though the card has been performing flawlessly for almost a year? Also I could understand if it was causing artifacts just when gaming due to power load, but it happened when I was merely surfing the net, where power draw doesn't even reach 300W.
Is a known solution to this issue an increase in Watts or is there a chance that it is a problem with the GPU?

  • Msi gtx 560ti hawk running always max clocks

    Hello.
My msi gtx 560ti hawk running always max clocks.
OC core clock up to 1000MHz gives similar results.
OC core clock past 1000MHz will stuck it at 1000MHz. Example i set core clock to 1040MHz and run 3DMark11,but
during the test it never exceeds 1000MHz.
Card is 15 months old and worked normally so far.
    My OC results before was
core clock 1000MHz Core Voltage 1.075V
core clock 1040MHz Core Voltage 1.088V
core clock 1100MHz Core Voltage 1.100V max temps ~78C
I never raised core clock over 1100 and memory clock over 2275.
    Things i'm done so far
    used 310.90 310.70 306.97 306.23 301.42 drivers
    disabled antivirus
mounted card out of the case and switched vbios in silence mode
used Afterburner 2.2.3 Evga Precision X
    reinstalled windows7
    reverted cpu to stock clocks
    Any advice?

  • MSI GTX 560Ti Hawk Question

Just a quick question to start with, how many RPMs should my fans be doing at 100%?
I have a feeling something is going horribly wrong with my new card.

Use MSI Afterburner to adjust the fan speed - you can draw a graph and dictate how much the fan should be working against a given temp.
Is the MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk the most problematic card.....i mean EVERYONE complains about fan noise and temps. If i had read the forums first before buying the card....i wouldn't have bought it.

I have had my pc for around a month now and have noticed that while folding and gaming ... I am hitting between 75 and 87 degrees with the fan profile never going lower than 80% ...
    My question is ...
Are these temps still in a safe range and if I change cooling will it void warranty ?? ... (looking at the Arctic Extreme 2)
Also ... What is that little switch and 3 pin connector on the top of the card ...

Temps listed are in safe range, if you change the cooling yes this will void the warranty.
You can try to reapply GPU's thermal paste and to retest, also ensure that you have enough room inside PC case along with good and enough airflow.

Also ... What is that little switch and 3 pin connector on the top of the card ...
It is switching between 2 different vBIOSes, one is performance one and other is silent one.
    It's related to FAN behavior

  • MSI GTX 980 + Afterburner Fan Controll

    Hio
i only have one simple question, will afterburner support fancontrol of both fans of the msi gtx 980 in the future??
thats the only thing preventing me to buy a msi gtx 980 because i dont want 2 seperate programms to have control of both fans... and i can only set custom fan curves for 1 fan with afterburner...
And as i heard with the msi fan control tool i can only set fixed speeds not fan curves.
the msi gtx 980 is already out now for over 6 month and still afterburner didnt support both fans... so i think it will not happend?
    best regards

on several other forums that is discussed, afterburner only controls the gpu fan the other one can be controlled with msi fan control tool.
and yea 960 and 970 didnt have seperate fan controls, they bind together.
Exactly right. MSI decided to use two controllers on the 980. AB will not change in order to control both per the programmer of AB. Tell MSI not to do this kind of thing in the future if this concerns you.

  • MSI GTX 970 faulty fan RMA

I sent my card back to ebuyer who have since sent it to MSI in the Netherlands. I can't call MSI or find a valid email for the MSI repair unit in the Netherlands. I have the infamous fan 2 spinning at 100% problem. I don't know if it's been solved yet but can someone let me know how I can get in touch with MSI Netherlands to find out what's happening with my card. Is there a known fix yet for the problem?
I made a video which I've sent to ebuyer:
edit: I've just seen on this forum
    Quote
Components, such as for mainboards, VGA cards and multimedia peripheral devices should be returned to the place of purchase. There is no direct RMA to MSI available. The reseller will request RMA.
So my question is what is the fix for this problem? what's MSI been doing since they got the card? sucks that I couldn't contact them in person because the Ebuyer technicians have tried to replicate the fault 3 times using Furmark and they haven't found it but I only get this problem after playing games, not running stress tests. They weren't willing to try any other method to replicate the problem

the problem may be firmware/ VBIOS related so if you give us the Serial Number (should be on the rear of the card Leave off the last 3 digits) and a copy of its VBIOS (download GPU-Z and use it to save your current VBIOS to a file and upload it) then someone will be able to see if a VBIOS update may be needed on your card that may fix the issue!

  • GTX 560ti twinfrozr II OC runs very hot

    Hello all,
this is my first time in this forum and unfortunately under not very good situation:
    my system:
    core 2 duo e8400 @3.00
    4 Gb RAM
    MSI gtx 560ti TFII OC
more than a year ago I bought myself a new gpu, the best card of those days, MSI gtx 560ti twinfrozr II OC. Now, until recently, most played games were some FIFA and some NFS and gpu temperature weren`t an issue. Recently I installed Skyrim and Crysis 2 and temps go high high, over 90 degrees, monitored with GPU-z. In OCCT test, on maximum 7 shaders complexity, it reches 96 degrees in less then a minute.
Anyway, the case is open and still temps are that high. general system temps measured by OCCT are around 45 degrees during test. CPU under full test doesn`t get higher than 69 (CPU test!!!, during GPU test it stays around 46)
The GPU is still under warranty, until september 2014.
What is to be done? Any official oppinion about this?
    Thank you!

    @flobelix:
In deed FIFA and NFS aren`t so resource demanding. Actually my younger brother plays skyrim and crysis while at our place in weekends. Fot him I bought this powerfull gpu. He then left for almost a year to study abroad and one month ago he returned and gaming started in full load ...
I installed Kombustor and temps were 96 degrees celsius in 1 and a half minute. I exited the test at 97 degrees.
    @XFM:
I didn`t checked the fans. How do I do that?
    @Svet:
I have an Asus case, don`t ask me the model number, I don`t know it. I have on it 3 Nexus silent fans that the guy at the computer shop installed when I bought the 560ti. He said it should be ok. Anyway, the case get very dusty in short time. I blew it with compressed air 3 months ago and right now is full of dust.
I won`t touch tha card by myself. I read alot about the thermal paste on msi products but card beeing under warranty, I eould rather sent it back.
It seems pretty clear to me that 96 degrees in less than 2 minutes is not healthy. Full load tests shold rund for at least one hour and this seems pretty impossible for my card. No matter how bad my case and air flow would be, these temps are simply not normal.

  • GTX 560Ti Hawk high temperature and noise

First of all I want to say "Hi" because this is my first post here!
Second, I have problems with my GTX 560Ti Hawk! The problems are high temperature and very loud fans! I bought this card less than a month ago and it didn't work properly from the first day but I wanted to give it a chance so I kept it for a while so I could monitor symptoms. I haven't even tried to OC it. I monitored it the way it came from the box.
In idle card doesn't go over 40°C which is fine by me considering the weather but when I play games it goes all the way to 85°C and it's loud as jet taking off! It's is pretty much intolerable to be near this card when playing games! This product is advertised to be very cold and very silent but now that isn't the case. What bothers me most is that the card was running on open bench table which has very good air cooling ( I made it myself and decreased ~10°C compared to my case). That means that my Hawk would have burned if tested inside the case, or it would fly away!! :D
Everything is good until card hits 76°C - that's tolerable temperature and the card is still silent, but when it hits 76°C and goes up, all hell breaks loose!
Card doesn't crash and it runs perfectly (got performance increase ~30% from my GTX 460) but way higher temperatures and noise above advertised makes me wanting to crash it with a sledgehammer! :D
I RMA it today and waiting for answer which should arrive in two weeks tops (quick when taking money but very slow when support is needed)
I wanted to ask if RMA is even possible when card isn't crashing??? I RMA cards with similar problems before with no problems but that was Gigabyte - not sure what can I expect with MSI because this is my first MSI product since 2003. RMA should be possible because card has failed to fulfill expectations which are guarantied by MSI...
If they refuse to send another card or return the money, what should I do???
    Computer specs:

    Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4
2x2 GB DDR3 Mushkin Blackline Stiletto
