MSI GTX 760 Driver Issues

Hi there,
I've recently been having issues with my GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr Gaming edition OC. The problem arose after a windows update, and since then I've had major driver issues with the card. The card simply does not work with drivers installed, only working if I uninstall the drivers and use the firmware on the card. I attempted a system restore to the point before the update, re-installing the card and a multitude of different drivers (The ones that came with the card, Msi website, Nvidia website etc) and I always have the same problem. I have since formatted my hard drive and installed windows 8.1 on an ssd, which didn't fix the problem. I am currently using the onboard Graphics, specs are as follows:
Mobo: MSI Z87-G43
GFX Card: MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr gaming OC
PSU: Corsair TX650m
CPU: Intel Core I5 4670K at 3.4ghz
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb 7200Rpm
Samsung 840 Evo 120Gb (Os is installed here)
OS: The problem arose on Windows 7 64bit Professional and continued ont Windows 8.1 enterprise (Currently in use)
The system worked with no problems for months and only arose recently and I'd be happy to provide more information. Thank you for reading and any recommendations would be most appreciated,
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Johnny.

You don't need to uninstall the drivers of the Intel HD. Remove nvdia drivers in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<< and simply reboot with the GTX760 installed and the INtel driver not removed. Install latest vga driver: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/71704/en-us
If still issues try the card in the Gen2  slot of your board.
I didnt explain it well, Id uninstall the nvidia drivers using my intel gfx, but when I reinstalled the drivers on my gfx card was when I had issues. The card worked fine off its firmware (I didn't try any games) but any driver installation messed it up

  • Problems After Installing MSI GTX 760 n760-2gd5/oc

I had previously bought the MSI GTX 750TI, but decided after a week to return it to get the more powerful MSI GTX 760 card. The 750 had worked without issue with my system when I returned it.
I installed the 760, and have had nothing but issues. Afterabout 2 minutes, everything locks up and I basically have to restart. The only way I can get anything done is in safe mode. I looked everywhere, installed multiple drive cleaning programs, installed the drivers, re-installed the drivers, to no avail. I downloaded the latest beta drivers from NVIDIA as well, didnt work.
My PSU supposedly has more than enough power (48A@12V) and I have connected the 2 6-pin connections from it to the card, I didnt need to use the adapters that came with the card.
Everywhere I have looked, my system meets any sort of standards to use this card.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks
    My build:
     CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: MSI B85M-G43 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
     Memory: Crucial Ballistix 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Western Digital WD Blue 500GB 2.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Cooler Master i600 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

You;re saying that you've used different "driver cleaners" in order to make proper installation. Can you, for me please, use DriverFusion (free is enough) in SAFE MODE and remove the drivers?
Then without the card inserted and powered, run the PC and see how it goes. Then reinstall it (make sure it's properly seated and power supply cables are also nicely fit in) and run it.
    * Your motherboard supports up to 1600mhz RAM speed. Please downgrade yours in BIOS down to 1600 or 1333 (you WON"T notice any speed difference) but this might have been also an issue with newer/higher range graphics card. Also, is the RAM stick seated in the socket recommended by the manual? I believe it should be 2nd closest to the CPU socket.

  • My MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr 2GB DDR5/OC always reboot ...

    Hello
I have brand new PC with MSI Z87-G45 and MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr 2GB DDR5/OC detail can see in my signature, every time i start some game ( such as :
Simcity 2013, Watch dog, Metro Last Light, Company of Heroes, and others ... ) with graphic setting in medium, high and ultra level, Game Just stops, blank and i get my pc reboot automatically.
I have tried to upgrade geforce driver to : Version 340.52 and nothing changed.
Anyone can help me with this ?

I downgraded into MSi Nvidia Graphic Driver 331.65 and do some test with games ( SimCity 2013, Watch Dog, and BF-4). Setting Graphic detail can only set to low level  , I mean if setting push to medium or high mode, my rig suddenly reboot.

Is there a tutorial on how to flash the new BIOS?
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the desired file included with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.

Also, what is the difference between normal and ln2, or witch one is safe to use?
normal is the pre-overclocked default vbios. LN2 (which can be chosen via the selector switch on top of your card) is not factory overclocked but allows more extreme manual oc without the limits of normal vbios (more voltage and power draw allowed). This is especially needed for extreme oc like if using Liquid nitrogen (LN2) cooling for oc records.

  • Broken Fan Blades on MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr

    Greetings,
I quite recently purchased an MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozer OC and have been extremely happy with it, but today I had to replace a faulty motherboard and upon pulling the guts out of my computer I found two smashed up fan blades in the bottom of my case. The two blades in question seem to have snapped off completely from the bottom and I cannot figure out why.
The card still works perfectly so I'd prefer not to have to send it to Holland for repairs, is it possible to get a spare fan from MSI or from elsewhere?
    Thanks in advance.

Fans aren't sold separately by MSI. Some guys here could obtain those on ebay from China but you'd need to check for the right ones as they won't be sold as Twin Frozr replacement fans. Alternatively MSI would need to repair it (not for free of course as it is physically damaged). Other than that you could get an aftermarket cooler.

I just got another GTX 760 for SLI.  Can I just flash the same firmware for the same make/model in this case?  If not, here are the specs:
    S/N: 602-V284-260B1401144486
    BIOS version: 80.04.BF.00.30 (P2004-0010)

Also, my first GTX 760's BIOS version is 80.04.C4.00.2F (P2004-0010).  Should this be updated as well or is this still the latest?  Thanks again, guys.
Nope it uses different, use attached below for this card

  • Control Voltage for Msi GTX 760 Gaming

We can see MSI GTX 760 Gaming has 8 pin + 6 pin conector so good for up to 300W but MSI Afterburner only add 12mV, it's too small with board power and it;s cooler, more voltage can be possible in future

No, nvidia restricts available overvoltage. MSI won't add more overvoltage possibilities.

  • MSI GTX 760 TF 4 GB issues

Hi, can anyone help me please. I have been having this issue when I am testing my motherboard which is Z87 M Power Max and the GTX 760 dosen't move, my heatsink fan Noctua NH-D14 also not working. Can you help me please.
    Thank you!

If I use AX760, does other cables that is not AX760 works? How much does it usually costs?
What if I remove the heatsink and place the intel heatsink, will it works?
    My cables : http://imgur.com/HUc51VX
Why do you ask me to put Dimm 2 only just now?
I haven't take out anything from the Case (Tower).
How many quantity must I buy?
    Thank you!
DIMM 2 is the primary slot and that will usually tell if its a RAM problem if it works with 1 alone in that slot (G-Skill Ripjaws can be a problem as they where optimized for ASUS ROG boards  and cause problems on other boards but 1 should work alone if there ok)!
just buy one Molex to 3pin fan adapter cable as that's all you will need!
could try the stock Intel cooler just to make sure your big NH-D14 isn't putting uneven pressure on the CPU or socket (usually if you are just building a computer use the stock one just to test for power up and that it posts before you spend alot of time fitting a after market one)!
if the tests come back that its not working then you probably have a DOA (Dead On Arrival) motherboard as it should be working so clip them fans to the adapter with the splitter you had when you get one and see if it makes any difference at all!
NOTE: in the future if you build a computer do tests first!
1: assemble rig with stock cooler and minimal RAM and equipment outside the case using onboard video if available from the boards outputs.
2: only after you have verified it posts put graphics card in to see if it works.
3: once all that comes back as ok then you can put other stuff on it and do 1 final test with a after market cooler outside the case to make sure its all good.
4: then put everything in the computer case and run a final posting test.
that is usually how I do things as its easier to isolate any problems and to see if one part or another is faulty!

    Hi,
I would like to get the UEFI/GOP Vbios for my MSI TF GTX 760 2GB OC ( N760 TF 2GD5/OC).
    My S/N is 602-V284-72SB1403083505
My current Vbios can be found using this link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/37425034/GK104.rom
    Thanks,

    Alright thanks for the reply
    Btw I have a Asrock Z97E-ITXac.
When I try to use Ultra Fastboot, which requires GOP Vbios, when playing games, my graphics driver stops working and the game crashes. When I disable the Ultra Fastboot, everything works fine.
    Any idea why that happens?

  • MSI GTX 980 Gaming issue

    Hi everyone,
Recently I upgraded the BIOS of my msi gtx 980 gaming and i discovered an issue which I don't know how to fix.
I did upgrade my bios with the official bios from msi live updater 6.
    old bios was nv317mh.112
    new bios is nv317mh.113
    The problem:
My boost clocks were somehow changed and i don't understand why...
before the update my boost clocks were the normal 1291(gaming) and 1317(OC)
after the update my boost clocks changed to 1329(gaming) and 1357(OC)
I did reinstalled the 112 version again and see if it could fix but it didn't fix this issue
I don't have any profile or OC in my msi afterburner.
GPU-Z shows the normal clocks (1291/1317) and my afterburner shows the modified clocks(1329/1357).
They were syncronized before the update.
My card is v317-03S so the bios should be right.
Pls help i don't understand what's causing this issue...

Quote from: Nichrome on 15-April-15, 23:35:12
Hmm I don't understand the issue. Are you trying to tell that current clocks are higher than advertised?
Yes. After the update my "default" clocks changed somehow.
