MSI GTX560 M2DIGD5

Hello,
Yesterday I tried installing my new MSI GTX560 graphic card.
It's properly connected to my mainbord, and screwed in place.
Today, I found out my computer isn't using the graphic card, but the onboard graphics.
The graphic card could not be found in BIOS, not with Lavaly's Everest and when I tried installing the driver (both nvidea and msi) it says the matching hardware could not be found.
What am I doing wrong? anyone else having this problem? I reattached it, didn't matter.
Thanks in advance,
Jasper

hmm, I only have 1 6-pin connecter, connected to the graphic card, as only one came with the power supply.
When trying to connect another one (came separate with the power supply) the desktop wont start up properly.
its a 500w coolermaster extreme which should be enough for the whole dekstop as I didnt put too much high end stuff in there
The GTX 560 requires two PCI-E power connectors to be plugged in. Are you using a converter to connect to the second PCI-E socket on the card?
What's the combined amperage on the two +12v rails of your power supply? (Combined wattage / 12 if amps aren't shown)
I think you should borrow a decent single +12v rail power supply (500W with at least 31A on the +12v rail) with two PCI-E power connectors to test with.

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk - can a pc case make a difference.

Can a PC case make the components sound worse?
I've got the Antec Def-Con 35 and the entire pc sounds very noisy - i mean i can hear the computer is switched on even from across the hallway.....I've got the MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk and according to many reviewers like http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/4049/msi_geforce_gtx_560_ti_hawk_video_card_review/index17.html
the graphic card is a very quiet card with high performance.
Do you think another case can make a difference? My friends i7 with GTX460 in a NZXT Hades case has a very nice soft whoosh playing BC2 at full graphics while mine is definitely much louder.

I've had a 260 GTX OC Twin Frozr, 465 GTX Twin Frozr ll, 460 Hawk Twin Frozr ll and now a 560 GTX Ti Twin Frozr ll and none of then made much noise till fan speed went over 70-75 % running Furmark on them. In normal daily use the front fan in my case makes more noise than anything else in it. I would bet that all of those case fans you have are probably making too much noise. I have 1 front & 1 rear case fan and they are all that's needed to keep noise down & provide enough airflow for cooling my rig in the Cooler Master Elite 330 case. If your 560 is running to hot and the fans at high speed then remove the HSF on it and replace the TIM on it There seems to have been quite a few MSI cards that needed this done. I guess I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have that problem.
Take a cardboard tube like what paper towels come on and isolate what fans are making the loudest noise.

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk Load Temperatures

I just got my MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk within the last week. It's a nice 37 degrees on idle but runs at 75 degrees on load with fans running at 70-76% taken from GPU-Z. I tried running it with the case open with a large fan blowing into the case but the temperatures only dropped 3-4 degrees to 73-74 degrees. Before getting the Hawk I read reviews that it should run between the low 50s to at most high 60s if the fan speed switch set to "silent". But for mine, the switch is set to "performance" but I couldn't get similar temperatures. Any help for my situation? :/

    Hi,
My friend just sold me is msi gtx560-ti Hawk one week ago.The issue is that when i play a games for exemple Payday 2,after 5 minute of gaming my pc does a random reboot.
    Spec:
    Motherboard: Gigabytes 970A-DS3P
    CPU:AMD Fx-8350 Eight-Core
    Video Card:Msi gtx560-Ti Twin Frozr 3 Hawk
    PSU:RocketFish 550W
    HDD:2011 Seagate Barracuda 1tb
On the video card there is 8 red del light up(Bad?) and in the pc of my friend they were blue.Is it a problem of PSU?
Edit 1:I googled on internet and find nothing helpful so i decided to post in on the ''official'' forum

The only thing that was in my pc before i sold it was my PSU.
I just received last week from Ncix my CPU,8gb RAM and the motherboard.
The video card specs recommend a 600W PSU,but before buying a 700W PSU (just to be sure) i wanted to know if its really the problem.
I read on some forum that the led shows the power charge. So logically if its all blue its fine and if its all red its not?
Edit 1:The PSU was working very well in my old Pc.
    Motherboard:Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H

  • MSI GTX560-TI Problem with Windows 7 Aero

    Hi,
I received today my new MSI GTX560-TI , the problem is on Windows 7, when i point to a taskbar button, i can't see live preview of open windows anymore (it worked with my old ATI Radeon 4890)
    - MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II OC
    - Nvidia ForceWare 266.66
    - Windows 7 x64 SP1
Is a problem with the nvidia forceware drivers ? , it's been a while since i've used them (MSI Geforce 6800GS )
    Thank you.
    (Bios not yet flashed )

If you've moved from an ATI card, perhaps there are leftover driver fragments. Uninstall your current graphics card drivers, run >>Driver Sweeper<< and install the drivers again.
Does anything pop up when you hover over an active program?

  • MSI GTX560 OC and GTX560-Ti SLI Possible?

    Pls Help,
I've got an MSI GTX560 OC edition and just got the GTX560-Ti edition hoping to get them to work in SLI.. Is it really possible to SLI these cards? I've read at Nvidia forums that you can SLI two different cards as long as they have the same GPU and Memory. so far I cant enable SLI simply because its not in the options in Nvidia Control Panel. help pls
    Cards
    MSI N560GTX Twin Frozer II
    MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozer II
    Board
    MSI P67A-GD65
    i5 Quad 3.10
    700w Power supply

With nvidia you need to have 2 identicle cards, in this case they are different so SLI will not be possible

  • Red Screen with SLI MSI GTX560 Ti Twin Frozr II/OC

    Hi at all,
A few days ago I received the two cards I mentioned in the title of the thread.
I proceeded to uninstall the current drivers on my PC and remove the GTX285, then mount the two GTX560 and install the latest drivers 285.62 (SO Windows  Seven 64-bit).
Basically I have a problem, especially when I play Crysis 2 (but I also happened with other games) that the display turns red, as you can see here.
Note that this problem only occurs when I close the game or do alt + tab, or less rarely when I open the game. In addition, to bring back the normal screen, it is sufficient to start any game or unplug and replug the HDMI cable to the video card.
In addition, disabling SLI or even leaving a single card attached (regardless of the card and the PCI-E slots used) the problem does not occur.
    What can be?
I also wanted to know one thing: one of the card has problems of dissipation, it also has temperatures of 20° C above the other (tested individually).
Since the SLI and a lot warmer during exercise (I tried it with FurMark) the card heats up dangerously (more than 90° and I saw even reach 100° after a few minutes of testing), I would request the replacement of the card to the dealer or MSI for this defect?
    Davide
    ps: sorry for my english

I got to do other tests. Consider that I have 2 monitors connected (Asus VK246H and Samsung TV HD Ready) and the problem occurs only the Asus monitor.
    In summary:
    A single card: Ok
    With SLI active: No
    With SLI off: Ok
    Connecting via VGA cable: Ok
    Changing the DVI cable: No
To which I add these others:
Changing the SLI connector (with an identical one, Asus 08G160001240): No
By connecting the monitor to the secondary card: Ok (the same as flipping cards, keeping the monitor connected to the primary vga the problem occur itself, connected to the secondary does not occur).
By connecting the monitor with an HDMI cable instead of DVI: Ok
What else can I do, whereas I've found that is not an OS or driver problem and that the two cards individually do not have this problem?
It could be a problem of DVI on the monitor? And if so, why does it only with SLI enabled, there is difference in the signal that comes from a single VGA and the signal that comes from a VGA with SLI enabled?

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk SLI Temperature too high

    Hi,
Two days ago I bought a second GTX560-Ti hawk (Twin Frozr III) to run in SLi with my other (the exact same card). I noticed that the VRAM temperature of one of the cards (I'm guessing the top one, but I'm not 100% sure) got really high. It got to something like 90 degrees celcius. Core temperature was ok for both cards, a little bit higher than when running a single card but I suppose that is to be expected.
Also when I stopped doing anything when it got to that temperature I noticed that the VRAM temperature wasn't going down very fast.
I've tried both cards separately and didn't observe those temperatures so I'm guessing the cards are ok. It's only in SLi modes that these have issues. I was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction as to fixing this problem, as right not I cannot play any games because I'm worried that the temperatures will become too high.
    It's worth mentioning I have a MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) motherboard.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Actually I got a new case and put everything in and did as you said (switched the cards) and got no screen at all.
If I switch the cards to the original set up it works like I described before. I'm guessing the second card is faulty and I will RMA it.

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC freezing/throttles

    Hi there.
I have a few problem with my GTX 560 Ti - especially when playing Crysis 2. I can play from 5 minutes and up to about 30 minutes before it will freeze and eventually downthrottle to lowspeed state or, 405mhz core clock, making the game unplayable. This happens for world of warcraft too but here it will not throttle, only freeze for 5-15 seconds.
Okay, so i read another post where Svet came with some interesting tips and i tried all of those with the reinstall of Win7 as the last option. Something weird happened now, it would still freeze but not throttle instead it would just freeze occasionally. Then i tried to lower the voltage to .987v which then resulted in a freeze and now all of the sudden it would throttle back to 405mhz.
    Heres some info:
    Video BIOS-version:   70.24.0A.00.00
    Driverversion:      270.51
And a list of what i tried so far in the order:
Increase the voltage from 1.112mV to 1.125mV and eventually to 1.138mV without any luck. (Throttled)
Adjusting nVidia settings to maximum performance etc. (Throttled)
Downclock from stock 880mhz to 822mhz (Throttled)
Reinstall OS & Driverversion 270.51 (Runs crysis 2 smoothly but with occasional freezes - the throttling stopped)
Lowering voltage to .987mV on the fresh win 7 (Freezes and throttling started again)
At this point i'm clueless, i'm not a graficcards expert but this somehow looks to me as a rather odd problem.
I have attached images to give a more clear view of whats happening during the Crysis2 game.
I would like to hear your suggestions/tips.
    Thanks in advance, Kasper.

I have tested both the MSi vga drivers and the latest official nvidia drivers on my old install of Win7 - I have not tried anything else but the 270.51 on this fresh Win7 install.
    well try them again anyway
    another thing:
    Quote
    Video BIOS-version:   70.24.0A.00.00
you're running older vbios version for your card.
you can flash to the latest one for your card, check PM for details.
i doubt that will help for your issue, as other people with the same vga with the same problem,
they already running the latest version and problem remain, but you can have a try anyway, before RMA

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk - i like it now....

For the first in 2 weeks after getting the pc i'm liking my system now. Initially i had a noise issue with the MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk - it was running very noisely - like a vacuum cleaner after 10-15 min of BC2. what is my solution?- I've used Afterburner to undervolt by 100% and also decreased the clock speed to something 700+.... and it's running at approx. 62-63 celcius with just a constant low frequency fan noise. No more higher pitch helicopter taking off sound.....so the secret is undervolting and underclocking the card to get the quietness. Am i missing anything if i do that? How come no none has suggested it before - i've bought TIM (Arctic AS5) but think i'll hold back from using it first since i like what i'm getting now.
I've still got to play a bit more to see if the temp will climb together with the fan noise.......

    Quote from: Newbie121 on 30-October-11, 06:39:48
What did you mean MSI cheated??? Based on the Guru3D reviews the MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk is the champion - that's why i bought the card in the first place - according to the reviews and numbers/performance the card WAS the best choice......but i'm still reading a lot of users complain about the fan noise & temps. Is this one of the most mis-represented Graphic card or are these normal responses from graphic card users.....do all graphic cards users report/complain about their fan noise/temps.
Nope. My old palit 460 oc was audible under load but its performance was within 5% of reviews.
So I was happy with that.
My card is so far off reviewed specs. I guess i'll RMA on Monday and hope against hope the next card can run at stock speeds at full load at less than 60% fan (that's all I want)

  • MSI GTX560 Ti Hawk - underclocking and lowering temp/fan noise

So the most common feedback about the MSI GTX 560 is that it runs hot and it's noisy.
What happens if i underclock via Afterburner? Surely i don't need it to run the card OC right there's plenty of frames available..... when i underclock i can't seem to notice any difference when i'm playing BC2. My frame rates are still approx 80-over 100+, that's high right?
Is frame rates the key factor in a smooth game play - what reduced frame rate should be be avoiding? Anything else to watch out for?
What else can i adjust in Afterburner to get the card to run cooler and quieter? - i read that i shouldn't reduce the memory speed though.......since that can slow down the processing.......

I'm no expert but I am having temp and noise issues with an MSI 560 card so I'm sharing what i know.
Overclocking is often a kudos thing.
The actual framerate increases are marginal unless you are hovering around the 24fps avg mark then juicing the card a bit can get you above 30fps mark ( a gamers minimum)
I to don't like to hear a hair-dryer in my PC when I game so to get the fans to go slower you need to make the card produce less heat.
Undervolting does not effect framerate , reducing voltage reduces heat but, if pushed to far, will cause games to crash out or artefact meaning you need to add a bit more back in.
Technically you can run the card at 99 degrees and you could could maintain that temperature at a lower fan speed than trying to run the card at 70 degrees.
You could try to find a stable undervolt (a good few hours of gaming with no artefacts of crashed) with every other setting at stock.
To find an acceptable fan profile you can run a game windowed (so you can keep an eye on temps) put lots of AA onthe game just to make sure the gpu is at 100%. See how high the temp goes, you can then find your optimum balance between heat and fan noise.
I personally want my card at about 70 degrees under load (allowing it to touch 80 on a hot day when playing games for hours)
