MSI GTX970 Gaming 4g Win 8.1& Win 10 x64 error code 43

Good day. I`ve changed my gtx 770 OC from gigabyte to msi 970 gaming 4g. After windows loaded i have exclamation on gtx 970 in device manager - error code 43. Tried clean install new drivers with DDU. Tried all driver from 344.11 to 344.80. Updated bios for my mobo and video. Reinstalled win 8.1 x64  and win 10 tp - same error :( I was thinking that my card is dead and tried to install win 7 x64. And it works perfectly in win 7, no errors.
Any thoughts how i can make it work in win 8.1 ? (tried to turn of gen3, standby and etc in bios. Hypervisor is not active in win 8.1 too)
My Pc:
cpu i4670k
mobo z87p-d3 (f8 bios)
ram 2x4gb kingston
video msi gtx970 gaming 4g ( latest bios)
psu zalman zm600-gsII
1 ssd and 3 hdd

sounds like there is some kind of compatibility issue
have you tried MSI VGA drivers from smi web for your card?
else ask your mainboard vendor for bios update
other options/tips:
* tell S/N of your card and save and upload its current vbios to check for updates
* test the card in another computer with Win8.1 OS to verify if will works there

  • MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G issue

hi guys, was after a bit of help/advice.
I swapped out my gigabyte GTX770 4gb O/C card for a new MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G card yesterday.
At the same time I decided to do a clean installation of drivers and update to new 344.48 drivers.
I uninstalled the 344.16 drivers and used driver sweeper as normal to clear out old NVidia files.
I then tried to install the new 344.48 WHQL drivers from the nvidia site and I got a security warning stating the driver install could not proceed as the driver wasn't digitally signed
I downloaded a new version of 344.48 from the nvidia website and this time the driver installed.
However, when I tried to play the a game of BF4 or borderlands, I get an APP Crash error and the game freezes.
I have just done a clean installation of windows in case I had corrupt anything during card swap over, and once again downloaded a fresh version of 344.48 WHQL and once again its telling me the driver is not digitally signed and I cant proceed with installation.
I have managed to get the older 344.16 driver installed at the moment, but I haven't a clue what is causing this. I have yet to test the games after the clean windows install, but I have feeling they are going to crash again.
I hope I don't have to RMA this card ;/

I'd try to update the motherboard bios as well. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4481#bios
cheers guys, I just flashed to latest F10b bios and changed pci-e slot from gen3 to auto in bios, running borderlands now for last 30mins in OC mode on card and no crashes or app hangs
fingers crossed, this has resolved the crash issues.....still doesn't explain why the latest Nvidia drivers are saying I cant install due to no digital signature.
I will try to update to latest 344.48 later and see what happens, don't want to mess too much at the moment as I've only just got this card stable....fingers crossed ;p

    Hi Svet
Im currently using the previous bios version and want to update to the latest for my 2x GTX 970.
Can i use the one you attached?
The reason im asking is because there are many that say each MSI GTX 970 have an unique bios between 5 different(?). For getting correct bios version you have to look at the cards serialnumber

  • Msi gtx970 gaming new vbios NV316MH.126

Today, live update program  tell me that there is a vbios update...my installed version is NV316MH.125
Do i really need this update?
    What are the changelog...

A number column like "84.04.1F.00.F1" is no real vbios version despite gpu-z's wrong listing. These numbers can cover various versions even legacy and UEFI/GOP. Only the MSI version is relevant.

i'll wait for more info about this vbios...
MSI doesn't document changes in vbios versions so nobody except for an MSI bios engineer can tell you. If not especially released for a certain purpose (e.g. to fix a common issue) most users won't even notice any difference. If you want to ask MSI do so: >>How to contact MSI.<<

  • MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G Temps

    Hi,
I recently received a new graphics card from RMA.
ono thing that i've noticed is that my old card would idle at around 32ºc and the new one at almost 50ºc.
is this normal? should i be concerned?
    thanks

during games like crysis 3 the highest temp i remember to see is 62ºc. never done any stress test with a specific program
i know that's not much, since the fans only start to work at 60ºc, but i don't know if it's normal for 2 versions of the same card to idle at such different temps

  • Msi GTX970 gaming 4g

Hye guys.. want to ask is it ok that my gpu temp is at 79 degree when i play gamess

owentsai - sorry, I disagree - 79 is WAY too high for this particular card. Unless he has poory ventilated or fully enclosed case, there is no way 4G should reach 79 with TF5. My 980 reaches 68 deg on OC with case fans off so mnct327 - no, this temp is not normal.
can you check in afterburner if your fans are spinning and what speed? do you have them on AUTO or manual?

  • MSI GTX980 Gaming sometimes not recognized by MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC

I have been experiencing a very odd problem with my new hardware.
    Hardware
Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790
    CPU-cooler: Scythe Mugen 4
    RAM: G.Skill RipjawsZ F3-17000CL9Q-16GBZH
Videocard: MSI GeForce GTX 980 4GB GAMING 4G
    PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold
    SSD: Crucial M550 2,5" 1TB
    Monitor#1: LG 34UM95-P
    Monitor #2: Eizo Foris FG2421
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    Issue description
The thing is that with 2 monitors connected the videocard is not recognized on a cold boot, but boots perfectly most of the time after a restart. In some cases a restart doesn't do the trick. I have even seen a couple of times that the monitor shows that windows starts and then the monitor loses the signal from the videocard before I can see the desktop (rare). With just 1 monitor attached the videocard is recognized. Als the IGP works fine, it's just the videocard that doesn't seem to be recognized when 2 monitors are connected (all combinations of DP, HDMI and DVI). When the computer has booted after one or more restarts and the videocard is recognized the computer works flawlessly, no problems whatever I do with it (desktop work, stressing hardware, playing games, etc.). Not a single sign of instability.
It's just the cold boot and sometimes the soft boot or restart that causes the videocard to not being recognized with 2 monitors connected.
What makes it really weird to me is that when the computer goes into sleep mode I can wake it up normally within say 10 minutes. But if I wait for let's say an hour the videocard is not transmitting a signal through the videocard.
When IGP is enabled the computer boots and windows loads normally (I hear the sound of the Windows login), although the monitors stay black when connected to the videocard. Then switching the connectors from the videocard to the motherboard shows me a normal Windows login screen, but the videocard is not visible in the device list. When the IGP is disabled to bootup sequence just hangs until a restart works and the computer boots normally with the videocard getting recognized and working properly.
    Click sounds
I noticed the motherboard makes 4 click sounds when booting, like relays flipping. I think it has to to with distributing power to al the components, since it looks like components respond to the click by turning led lights on. But I have to say I've never come across a motherboard before that makes click sounds. Is this normal?
    Tried fixes
    - Replaced the RAM with 100% working RAM from my other computer (Corsair Vengeance LP CML8GX3M2A1600C9) -> problem persists
    - Disabed XMP -> problem persists
    - Replaced the PSU with another one (Cooler Master V550 Semi-Modular) -> problem persists
    - Reinstalled the videocard physically -> problem persists
    - Tried several combinations of connecting the 2 monitors to the videocard (all DP ports, HDMI and DVI) -> problem persists
    - Replaced the videocard with a MSI GTX970 Gaming (connected with 1xDP and 1xHDMI) -> problem persists
    Conclusions so far
The cause can be found in the videocard or motherboard (probably BIOS issue).
Who can shed some light on this issue?

Try all PCIE slots no luck? Does the black screen always happen on one certain monitor or both?
I tried both the first and the second PCIe slot. No difference except for the fact that in the second slot the card only works at x8 bandwidth.

BTW - Did anybody try to remove the wifi module from the board and then test?
I didn't install the wifi module in the first place.
    UPDATE
I returned the motherboard to the webshop I bought it from and sent my cpu, ram, psu and videocard (GTX980) with it so they could test it. They found out that the videocard is the problem. So now I have to send the videocard to the webshop it bought that from. However, I am suspecting that it's just a VBIOS problem and not some fault in the hardware itself. On the other hand, it would be very strange that MSI would release a videocard that cannot work with one of their own top motherboards, wouldn't it?

    I have MSI X99S Gaming 7 motherboard, Crucial 2x8GB 2133 DDR4, MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G, Corsair RM650, i7-5820k setup.
When I am trying to boot the machine it always stops and the debug led shows code 67. I have tried to take everything out, reseated processor and to boot with just the minimum set of components. Result is always the same code 67.
I am running out of ideas. Do you have any hints or should I just return the mobo and processor?
    Best Regards,

So are you going to RMA the board or just use it with 2 sticks? Thats means you are not planning on using it in quad channel, would be a waste.
Anyways if I were you I would definatly RMA it asap. This error 67 problem people are having seems to be widespread.  MSI really need to look into this.
As has been said previously, contact MSI. Should they look into it? Yes, but the moderators here are not MSI employees, and while we can bring issues to their attention, we cannot make them look into problems.
So if you have this problem, please contact MSI directly:  >>How to contact MSI.<<

    6 80mm fans
System has been pretty much solid since i built it back in Dec 2005, The Power supply i've had for 1-2 years, last few months i would start up my pc and then at random between 15 secs or 30 mins the pc would just shut off, and sometimes it wouldn't do it at all. I didn't really think nothing of it. About a month ago i was about to play WoW (world of warcraft) and my pc glitched out and the sound screeched and then i shut it down, i reset the comp and no post, i then reset the cmos the pc then posted and i changed my bios settings back and i was up and running again. I could run any games, half life 2, quake 4, WoW and they all ran great i still got the random shut downs if it did shut down when i restarted it , it would shut down again. (odd) Tonight i was on chatting with some friends and was about to play some counter strike then changed my mind and i started up WoW everything loaded up great, got into the game and played for about 2 mins then my screen went black and the sound screeched, the monitor had no signal and my pc was still running, so i turn the thing off and reboot, no post and no beep code. I proceeded to reset cmos and reboot still nothing i checked the D-bug thing and i was getting a processor intialize error, so i thought i fried my cpu, i took off the waterblock and pulled out the cpu cleaned it up reapplied AS5 and then re-seated the cpu, tried to boot and nothing, i then started to pull ram out and swap slots and single the sticks out and that did nothing. I then stripped my pc down to barebones reset cmos and used beap codes, with just cpu seated i got a ram error code, put in a stick of ram then i got a video card error code put in the vid card then i was back where i started, no beep code and the d-bug thing was hanging on processor initialization. It could be my cpu although in my other comp i swapped cpu, i put the enermax 431w into the other comp nf2 w/ amd 2500 barton and it posted and ran fine, although when i used the ps from the other system in the one thats not posting it would post either but it was only a 300w ps. I don't believe its the cpu, the 20pin connector on the power supply has about 4 pins where the pastic shell has browned from heat or something, so i should replace the ps regardless but i'm not positive thats whats causing my issue. Anyone with any suggestions i'll pretty much try anything at this point.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my problem.

This is not a good sign, this could be an indication of to much amp being drawed.
This could be due to a poor connection on the P/S connector or the connector of the MB or it could be due to a device like your CPU, ram, graphic card or so on drawing to much amps.
Check the MB for any signs of swelled, leaking or bursted caps, also look around the MB P/S connector for any resistors that have changed colors or are burnt.

  • MSI GTX970 - many games don't start "game.exe has stopped working"

    Hey guys,
I have a problem with my new MSI GTX970. I have several games that just won't work.
    Working games:
    Witcher 2
    Guild Wars 2
    Project CARS in DX9 Mode
    Not working games:
    Project CARS in DX11 Mode
    Battlefield 4
    Assetto Corsa
    Thief
Even dxdiag "stopped working" when testing the Direct3D Stuff
Most likely I think this is some driver issue but I have no idea how to resolve it? My "old" R9 290X was running without any problems. I did 2 clean installs of Windows 8.1 but it didn't help.
I'm running the latest nvidia driver of course but I'm a bit lost now - do you have any idea what the problem could be?

  • MSI A88XM GAMING | Can't boot with new PCI-e x1 card plugged in

    Hi,
I'm a owner to an MSI A88XM GAMING motherboard and I purchased a AverMedia Live Gamer HD card last week. After unboxing and installing the card to one of my PCI-e x1 slots the computer won't boot. All what happends is what the fans starts and the power LED turns on, but that's all. No beeps or anything.
I know for sure what the AverMedia Live Gamer HD card is working just fine, as I've already tested it on my old computer. I've also tested if it might have been a power issue, by disconnected everything and running it on a towel outside the case, still the same result. Connecting it to any of the other 3 PCI-e ports gives the same result. All the PSU cables are properly connected and the motherboard has the latest BIOS version on it.
Is there any way to get it to work on my computer? I would really like to avoid switching motherboard is possible. Using a 2:nd computer is also not an option, as I want to be able to just take it with me without any issues.

Well, someone is doing something with the BIOS because they sent me 1.2B6 a couple weeks ago for the same 88XM GAMING motherboard -- and it didn't fix my Display Port issues.  Maybe the changes were to the PCIe timings?
I didn't want to test any more 1.2 beta builds, due to earlier problem with them. But I'll give the final build of v1.2 a try later today, I didn't notice what it had been released.

Out of curiosity, have you tried the video output from the motherboard, instead of the 280x, when you have card installed? (Make sure the IGP is enabled in bios)
That was one of the very first things I tried, did so after my 2:nd post on the forum. You can find the results here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=183220.msg1315289#msg1315289
I've contacted the AverMedia Support, hopefully they should be able to find the issue. It's possible what it might be a firmware related issue.
I've also searched around on the XSplit forum if there's anyone else what have run into the same problem. But couldn't find anything, so I made a thread and asked directly instead. I got a reply from someone on the Support Staff, but he couldn't find anything either.
