MSI gx623 touchpad problem.

Hello!
So today i refreshed some drivers and my touchpad stopped working. I tried system restore more than 5 times, but it didnt help. I tried driver restore then refresh, still didnt help. i dont know what could I do becouse in official homepage it says i cant download a driver because its in the os. directly. I'm adding that the touchpad works till win7 doesn't fully loaded in, _then_ it stops reacting.
What can I do? Please help.
(Oh and yes.. I tried swtich it on and off and on...)

Have you tried to uninstall the driver and reboot?
Also, it could be wise to look in the \windows\inf directory (well it's that one in XP and hidden), usually there are OEMxx.INF files, find the one that is used for the touchpad and delete it.
As without that file, the wrong driver can't be installed again.

Hey! I have made some improvement on this matter. You mast disable power play in your drivers and tray installing ati tray tools. Create a profile for each game and add 3D settings to the profile in the manager of the tool. Run the game from the manager.
This shut help you to stabilise the game a bit.

I think the problem is with graphics card, I trier using MSI Win7 x32 drivers and new ATI drivers. Also I many times re-install Windows system and problem still persist.
    Why is this happening?
What can be a solution to my problem?
    Please help

    Thank you for answer darkhawk-
My Guaranty Policy passed. So I tried next things. I opened back panel of notebook and left it open (for better airflow), also i am using cooling pad under my laptop.
Than I create log of my temperatures with AIDA64 during playing  games and its from 82 to 86C (gpu 600Mhz gpumemory 800Mhz) while when I am in windows idle and graphics drop speed to 255Mhz its 54-58C.  CPU is about 70C during games.
Are these normal temps? (room temperature about 22C coz winter)
I noticed that now it can be hours while glitch is to happen (playing Planetside 2). While before it happend very fast.
Can this be only because temperature?
What is everything I can do to bring down the temperature of the graphics card in GX623 laptop?

  • MSI GX60 Touchpad problems

Hey guys, I purchased my GX60 A10(Not Hitman) over a month ago now. I can't say I've used the Touchpad very often, but I can confirm that it HAS worked before. But a few days ago I tried using it, and it would be extremely unresponsive. My cursor would move all over the place or not move at all, and I somehow kept closing my browser window on accident. I would move my finger down the pad, and it would do a right click, or start highlighting. All in all, it was just unusable.
So I did a little search, and found that MSI had new Synaptics Touchpad Drivers. I downloaded and installed them, but that didn't do anything. In fact, the Touchpad wasn't working at all after the reboot. I would also get an error when clicking on Mouse in the control panel. I tried reinstalling/uninstalling the drivers, to no avail. The installation would actually fail thereafter, although the Synaptics software would appear in my installed programs.
I went in Device Manager. I found the pointing device that wasn't my USB Mouse, and tried updating the drivers(directing it to the Synaptics folder), and upon doing that, I noticed that the name of the device finally changed to Touchpad, although windows gave me an error saying the device could not be used because it couldnt find a file of some sort. So I tried uninstalling the device, but now windows doesn't even detect anything new when scanning for new hardware. I tried removing my battery, but that didn't help.
So now, my Touchpad still isn't working(buttons aren't working either), and there is no new device appearing in Device Manager. Oddly enough, when I install the Synaptics drivers now, it actually tells me the drivers were installed successfully, although the Synaptics software doesn't even show in my programs.

Sounds to me like a faulty touchpad.

RMA is probably the best option at this point.

  • MSI ge60 Touchpad problem.

    Hello!
I have recently bought a new msi ge60 0ND-249CZ but yesterday the touchpad started to act strangely.
It acts like if i would be tapping the right button continuously. I have downloaded the latest drivers already. I have been searching the internet for a hour but i found no solution.
I had to set the right button function to "none" in the driver so i can use it.

What you backup of course depends on you and what software you use to backup. It is in your hand.
Can't say how long it tkaes as it depends on the individual case and we are not MSI service but the Users-to-Users Forum. Also everyone has a "don't buy brand X"- story about any brand. Friend's stories' are not representative. Could be it will be real fast could be it takes some time if spare parts are missing for example.

  • Msi gs70 touchpad problems

    The multitouch doesn't work!
I can't scroll, zoom, etc. The 3-finger gestures also don't work. I've already tried upgrading the driver from the MSI site.
    Any help??

Please help! I'm having the same issues. Elantech touch gestures won't work (but single, double and triple tap will, aside from that, zoom, scroll, and others are borked) Worked perfectly in Windows 8. Upgraded to 8.1 and uninstalled elan and installed latest drivers from the MSI site but I can't get it to work.
There is also an always on - HID-compliant mouse under the devices which doesn't let me use the trackpad when I disconnect my mouse. There is an option to turn off the feature that disables the trackpad when a usb mouse is detected (the culprit of our trackpad not working) but this is obviously not a solution, only workaround.
I don't know why this happens or if there is anything that you can do about it but the issue with the scroll is INCREDIBLY IRRITATING. Please help me find a solution.

Is this Skype? If so, beware Skype can regulate the levels on it's own and typical on Laptops it lowers to very low levels because of the machines own noise.
As such you need to stop Skype from regulate the levels for you.
    No, Im not running Skype.
But even if I was, Skype can be set to manual settings to get full volume on the mic.

  • MSI GX623 problem with lcd?

    Welcome
Well, from about two months I was the holder of the MSI GX623. I do not know whether the phenomenon occurred conveyed today, I noticed before, or just something I could not see. Well, in the left corner of the matrix along its entire length there is a white glow visible throughout. Is particularly visible on a black background and begins to irritate me. Could this be the wine too strong pushed the frame matrix?

  • MSI GX623 black screen, Afterburner and that old story

Hello. So maybe someone will know the cure for my problem. I have an MSI GX623 gaming laptop, i have it for like 3 years, i dont remember. So when i bought it I started playing games with it (because it's a GAMING laptop :D). After some time I've started to have black screen/crash problems. So because I had warranty, I gave the laptop for repairs. As I remember, they've changed GPU and cooling system. I took it back from them, hoped that the problem was in the past, but that same day I played GTA 4 and there it is again. All this was like 2 years ago. Until this day I used MSI afterburner and it helped, but sometimes the problem used to show up again, so I used to leave pc on sleep mode and it helped. Right now, I'm using a cooling pad, the afterburner for some time, like half a year. It was like a month until yesterday it all started again. Everything was fine, i turned my laptop, open LoL to play, started the match and bammm, black screen. I thought, ok, not the first time, lets just restart the laptop, open afterburner and it will be ok. Not so fast, as much as I wanted it to be ok, all day I couldn't play anything, not nba 2k14 not lol (these are the 2 games I played for like half year). Well all day I had to watch Sopranos and Prison break, no lol or nba :/ I left it on sleep mode overnight and today it's good as new, played lol, nba, it's all cool, but after some time ( the laptop wasn't shuted down for no time), a short, like few hour brake  without games, wanted to play lol and there it is again. I don't know what's wrong, the temperatures are fine, more like fine, yesterday i cleaned the inside of the laptop from dust. Everything is perfect, but it's still there. I've updated afterburner, but no help. Maybe there is some new solutions to this problem without afterburner? Thank you BTW, I use windows 7, but these days it's like xp, everyone uses them D: thx for the help )

Could be heat related. Do you know what temperature your CPU and GPU are running?
Just to be sure on the driver front, uninstall your current graphics card drivers, run >>Driver Sweeper<< to clear any driver traces, reboot and then install the ones from the MSI website: http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=nbdriver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1702

  • Gx623 gfx problem

Greetings, i own a Msi Gx623 that came pre installed with windows 7 32bit, it worked fine and i could play World of Warcraft just fine but after a while i decided to try out some other games (borderlands, assassins creed, battlefield) but i've encountered a problem after playing these games for a while, they all end up crashing the computer... First the screen would go all black and flash pretty fast and all input would stop responding although the sound still continued wether it was ingame sound or music but after 10-15 seconds the sound would also crash and lock up in a small infinite loop sounding like a scratched music cd...
The only way to get the computer working again is doing a hard reset
I consider myself pretty good with computers so i started with checking out if there were new drivers, windows update said there was so i decided to try it out but no luck the games still crashed so i checked on the msi driver page and installed that one, still no luck...
Then i went to ati's site to get the newest driver but it wouldn't let me install it, so i got the "Ati mobility modder" application, modded the install acordingly and i could install without a problem but the problem still was there...
Oh well, maybe a fresh OS install would help? so i acquired me a Windows 7 64bit ultimate and installed it, now the drivers here was a little more tricky as MSI apperently don't support 64 bit for this laptop and therefor denie us the use of 700mb additional ram , anyway i tried the windows update methode and started up a game but still no luck :( did the Ati mobility modder trick again on the newest 64bit drivers from ati but no luck this time either.
Fine either it's a driver issue that haven't been fixed or it's not a driver problem, so I checked for the temperature of the GPU with AMD gpu clock tool and instructed it to save a log file with temps, after 20min of playing a game without crashes i closed it and looked at the max temp: 78 degrees, that seems fine as the limit is 90 for a gpu iirc?
The most recent and strange thing that happend is that i overclocked the card slightly with the AMD Gpu clock tool and it ran Borderlands fine for a couple of hours although it usually crashes once a hour
What i've thought about doing but haven't done yet:
Installed a different os like xp 32bit
bios flash the card (i don't dare doing it though)
Anyway, anyone that have a clue about what could be wrong? the last thing i know that could be wrong is a hardware failure...
Oh btw i was looking at contacting MSI support but where do i find the serial no. of the laptop? i've looked all over the laptop but i can only see the 2 model numbers (gx623 and MS-1651)

@zagitta and all with this black screen + hanging sound crash problem:
My best friend bought the same Notebook (MSI GX623 with ATi 4670), he had the same problem with getting a black screen with hanging sound, after a few second sound also was gone.
Only a restart of the notebook was possible.
We tried many different drivers 9.11 -> 10.3 (also Beta Drivers), with no improvement in stability.
Tools like Furmark or other Stresstests runs fine without crash.
Games with Source-Engine (DOD Source, CS Source, Team Fortress 2, ...) mostly crashed in the 10 mins, otherwise some Games (COD MW 2, Torchlight, Aliens vs. Preator) crashes later (but the also did).
After 2 RMA's (changed Cooler, changed Graphics-Chip, Technicans didn't find a problem) there was no change in the situation, the "Gamer"-Notebook still crash.
Yesterday my Friend sayed, that Battlefield Bad Company 2 was the only Game which didn't crash since he played it on the Notebook.
Because this i monitored the GPU-Core Clock and Memory-Clock with GPU-Z while playing DOD:S and BF BC2, i could see that the Core-Clock and the Memory-Clock was at 3D-Speeds in BC2 but not in DOD:S.
In this moment i remembered on my old System with 2 PowerColor 3870 in Crossfire, there was a similar problem with crashes in Battleforge because i modified the GPU-Bios to get 2D-Clock in idle (Powercolor-Bios was piece of crap), the GPU-Clocks changed multiple times between 2D and 3D Clocks while playing => Crash.
Because this i installed ATi Tray Tools on his notebook, created 2 Profiles (2D clocks & 3D clocks), in the settings of ATi Tray Tools i configured to use the 3D Profile in all 3D Games and the 2D for non-2D Mode.
Now the GPU uses the 3D-Clocks in all Games, no crash since ATI Tray Tools manage the GPU-clocks!!
In my opinion the GPU Bios of the 4670 in the MSI Notebook is crap, no driver-release would help you because of this!
I hope this could help you!
PS: Sorry for my bad english

  • [SOLVED] Synaptics touchpad problem eeepc 1000HE

I installed Arch on my eeepc 1000HE yesterday and configured / used it happily for most of the day - but then it developed a touchpad problem which I'm struggling to fix.
If you lift your finger from the touchpad the mouse cursors 'forgets' / 'resets' its position.
eg When you put your finger back on the touchpad the cursor jumps to a different position. For one thing, this means you can't tap to click, because when you lift your finger to tap, the cursor jumps somewhere else (usually a slight move, but usually away from the item one wants to click).
Also, when needing a few swipes (eg to move the cursor left to right across the screen), the cursor jumps away from its current position (to the left - sort of back to its original starting position) each time I lift my finger to make the extra swipe.
The problem seems to have started when I had a tv plugged in via the vga and was managing screen switching with xrandr and the screen-switch function key (I'm trying to set up the eeepc as a mythtv frontend) but this could be coincidence.
    Some settings etc -

My Daemons array looks like this -
DAEMONS=(syslog-ng dbus !network wicd netfs crond lircd samba alsa !hal sshd gdm)
Removing the ! before hal made no difference.
I am using gnome. Changing the settings in  the /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad/ folder with gconf-editor makes no difference to the problem.
I am using kernel 2.6.38-ARCH. Using the fallback kernel didn't help.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Update. After some more searching the forum I thought downgrading udev may help. Since I had a fresh install I needed to install the AUR downgrade package. I did a yaourt -Suy before doing so which, amongst other things, installed a new kernel (4-1) and upgraded yajl. When I tried yaourt -S downgrade I got an error re yajl - error while loading shared libraries libyajl.so.1, canot open shared object file, no such file or directory, and then "error: target not found: dowgrade".
    Any help really appreciated.

  • B5400 Synaptics Touchpad Problem

I'm running into touchpad problems with my HP Pavilion dv3500t whenever I have the battery charger plugged into the laptop.  When plugged in, the cursor starts drifting uncontrollably and automatically clicks the screen without me lifting my finger from the touchpad.  If I unplug the power plug and run on battery, the touchpad works perfectly.  Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?  Anyone know how I can solve this annoying issue with the touchpad? • MSI GX623 CPU upgrade experience anyone?

    Hi, guys!
I have GX623 with Intel P7350 CPU. I'm thinking about CPU upgrade...
Does anyone have tried to upgrade to CPU to T.... series, X..... series or even Q.... ? If yes, how laptop handles temperature? Because of bigger TDP it increases quite a lot? Cooling can handle It when running games and stressing GPU? How about support? Which bios is required? Maybe something else?
And I want to share some experience with you as well, as I'm using this laptop for year or so. I have HD4670m GPU. If your not playing games all the time (And I'm not), try switching to power saving mode for GPU in both plug-ed and unplug-ed scenarios in ATI Catalyst comand center. Since then my laptop, is a lot more quiet and cooler (therefore saving power) when multitasking at home or watching youtube etc... When gaming just push Eco button in gaming mode and - bang full GPU stress in no-time. OK, bit offpic but I was too lazy to create new one.

the notebook is new, but the problem is it has a warranty sticker, and that all other physical devices like mouse/keyboard is working correctly:
Note: Disabling the 2 buttons(left and right click button) of the touchpad makes the double tap working, but also u cant use the 2 button cause its disabled.
The warranty sticker is there to keep people from opening it up and messing things up when they don't have the experience.
If you look at the FAQ at the top of the notebook section, there is more information there regarding this. If we weren't able to open the bottom panel, we couldn't upgrade the RAM or install a new SSD or HDD.
Anyway.....if you don't feel comfortable doing it, I would contact MSI to do an RMA. It doesn't seem that it's a software problem.
