MSI GX660R with intel motherboard and compatibility with Samsung 840 EVO SSD

Im am new to this forum, so I apologize in advance if this post is in the wrong section.
I am considering to replace the hard drive in my MSI GX660R with a Samsung 840 EVO 250 gb ssd, since it has the best benchmark ratings and are very afordable. My laptop has an Intel motherboard with an i7 core processor.
My question in relation to the upgrade is, whether the laptop is compatible with that excact ssd. I plan to run it in AHCI mode, since I have bad expirience with loss of data under RAID. If i chose to run the extra HDD as a secondary drive, it will therefore still be under AHCI.
Can anyone refer me to some sort of compatibility list, or tell me if the above mentioned drive is compatible? I havent been able to find out myself, and MSI is farily difficult to get in contact with.
Any help is appreciated.
Yes, your early 2013 Retina model uses 6.0 Gbps SATA but it's not a standard mSATA connection. You could upgrade using Transcend's JetFlash -> http://www.transcend-info.com/apple/jetdrive/ - to space up to 960GB, however.

Hello every one
I just bought a new Think Station P700. Before installing Windows 7 I changed the build in Hard disk to a new Samsung 840 EVO SSD. The diagnostic is able to find the SSD and all tests are passed.
Within the BIOS the SSD is not listed and when installing Windows 7 I’m not able to select the SSD.
I tested the SSD by attaching it to another System and it works fine.
How can I get this combination to work?
If more details are required please let me know.
Any helpful remarks or suggestions are welcome.

When installing win7 to the sSATA controller (i.e. red ports SATA 1, 2, 3, or 4) you need to provide the Intel RSTe driver. The controller is not native to win7. If you happen to have your SSD installed to a black port, these are legacy AHCI and those ports should be native to win7. Installing to the red sSATA ports is recommended.
With your win8.1 issue above, the only time I've seen messages like that (granted my German is a bit rusty) is when you have not deleted the existing partition on the drive. You can try wiping out all the existing partitions on the drive and then installing the image. -

So yes you need to update the bios to at minimum 2.4

Use option 1 and point the tool at the compressed archive. (Do not decompress or extract the files)
Then point the tool at your fat32 formatted flash drive.
Boot to the usb and proceed with the flash.

Problems with Apple Preview filled forms and compatibility with Windows?
Anyone else having problems with Apple Preview filled out forms and compatibility with Microsoft Windows after Lion?
I've had it happen recently with two different people, where the data I had entered on a fillable PDF form could not be seen by Microsoft Windows, but I saw my data just fine.
I don't know what version of Adobe Acrobat they were running.

ktYou will get that first message when the document has been changed in a way that invalidates the internal digital signature that's applied when a document is Reader-enabled. Certain changes are allowed (e.g., filling fields, commenting, signing) and will not invalidate the signature, but others are not. The exact cause of the change is often hard to track down, but it can be due to font problems, some type of file corruption, or something that Acrobat/Reader attempts to correct when the file is opened/saved. You will also get the message if the users system time is not correct and is currently set to some time before the document was Reader-enabled. It seems best to use the most recent version of Acrobat to enabled the documents and recent versions of Reader to work with them.
It problem is probably not related to the user using anything in the Sign pane. -
Where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?
I'm just curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue or not: Does anyone else feel like, after searching for specific songs, there's just little to nothing in the database? I feel like most of my searches are pointless because iTunes has either no data of my requested search and/or only has bits and pieces of it.
Another question I have: After having a slightly successful search, why am I left with low quality tunes? I mean, you can hear the compression... badly. (I know it's not my speakers)
Last question: If I'm paying for the song, shouldn't I be allowed to download a universal file? iTunes uses a unique format that no other application uses. In other words, more money has to be spend for m4a to mp3 converters (unless you're a cracker [not a racial comment]).
To me, I value iTunes and its team, so I'm sorry if I've offended anyone. I understand there are contracts involved with the artists and it's hard to please ALL of the subscribers. But seriously, where's the music on iTunes, and what's with the quality and compatibility?
Custom Windows XP Pro Negative, I am a meat popsicle.Today I thought of finally putting lyrics on my songs. So I've been quite some time busy doing that, then I tried it on my iPad (2) and I can't find them. Just as the people above say. Then I went to search where I can find them and I found this page. I'm really dissapointed and I don't understand how something like this could happen. So I hope Apple will fix this soon.

I have a problem with my motherboard and my battery of my 2010 macbook pro 13". It was just serviced with a new screen, keyboard, and logic board. How much will a new battery and motherboard cost and would it be worth it or should I just get a new computer. It was about 300 dollars to get it serviced last week. if it adds up to much past 600 dollars I will just get a new one. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
P.S During classes today it began beeping in my bag. Like three kind of long steady beeps then a short pause, and when I opened it I couldn't see anything but it was on so I turned it off and back on.Depends on what options your Apple store offers - if they can do a depot repair (where they send it out), that's around $300 for all parts & labor.
If the store doesn't have that option, a logicboard is around $600, battery $80-$100, from what I've seen.
If they JUST replaced the logicboard, you absolutely should NOT have to pay for another replacement - the replacement is covered by a warranty. If they want you to pay for it, make sure you have a copy of the receipt for the work that was recently completed so you can show it to them. They have no reason to charge you for another logicboard.

I purchased snow leopard from online macstore in Australia and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update from 10.5.8. It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs. Do I need 10.6.0 to install first?
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD, restart your MacBook while holding down the C key, this should start your Mac from the optical drive instead of your hard drive. Choose your language and install Snow Leopard. When it's done and you've restarted on your new 10.6.3 system run software update to upgrade to 10.6.8. Done.

I use AppleWorks a great deal. Does iWorks replace it? or enhance it?

iWork (no "s") is not an application, but the name given to the package of two applications, Keynote & Pages.
Keynote is a presentation application that can open AppleWorks 6 presentation files & PowerPoint files. I haven't use Keynote other than to view a few presentation. You probably can find a lot of information by searching the Keynote forum.
Pages is the word processing/page layout application in iWork. Pages is able to open AppleWorks 6 word processing document as well as Word, text & RTF documents. It is not able to open any other AppleWorks documents or older Word documents (I'm not sure how far back it goes). Pages 1 (iWork '05) will not display floating spreadsheet frames in AppleWorks 6 word processing documents, Pages 2 can. Pages 2 has limited spreadsheet functions available in tables (as does Keynote 3, both in iWork '06). Pages can export as PDF, Word, plain text, RTF & HTML (HTML export is disappointing to say the least). It cannot export as AppleWorks (any version).
No one here knows for sure if AppleWorks will ever get another update & those that do have signed non-disclosure agreements, but it is extremely unlikely. In the iWork ’05 press release iWork is said to be "building the successor to AppleWorks."
Many users here, like me, use Pages for what it does so well & AppleWorks for what it does that iWork doesn't (at least not yet) - databases, spreadsheets & drawing. -
What might be issues with Apple TV's compatibility with Samsung LED TV's, specifically the 5550 or 5500?
I am shopping, with a focus on Samsung, and was told by a Samsung rep their TV's were not compadible with Apple TV. I found this difficult to believe so I wanted to pursue with persons knowledgeable with Apple TV.
If I find that Samsung is not compadible I wanted to determine which lines, e.g. Sony, might be compadibile, as I wanted to use Apple TV.

I have a Macbook Pro running Leopard 10.5.8. I had a problem with my my operating system (my fault, I moved a file I shoudnt have) couldnt boot up but was able to boot up from a backup. I managed to repair my original system except now all the system folders, including hidden folders are littered with duplicate folders and files with the suffix (from old Mac). For the most part the dupes are an exact copy, but not always. I want to remove them to free up space and cant imagine duplicate folders in the /system/library are not hindering my computer. But I dont know where to start and am afraid of doing irreparable damage. Any ideas

Uninstall Keynote; this must be done with an application remover tool to delete the installation properly. Appcleaner is known to work correctly for this purpose, it is free and can be downloaded from here: Appcleaner Download

shutdown the Mac and restart. After the start up chime, hold down the shift key until the apple logo appears
let the Mac complete the start up procedure completely, it will take longer than usual as the hard drive is being repaired

3. Now from XMLP responsibility, create a data definition with data definition short code = concurrent program short code
4. Create template definition choosing the data definition created above. Upload RTF/other template format created.

I do a movie whith iMovie. I finalize the project and I pass it to iDvd. Then I do a little menu and I burn my DVD. When I play my DVD on a computer or in my TV it ALWAYS begins directly with the movie and not with the menu... PLEASE HELP!!!!
Go to the Map mode in your iDVD project and make sure the blue bin at the left is empty. That's where you drag slideshows to if you want the DVD to open immediately to that slideshow and bypass the menu.
