MSI GX700 Speaker Buzz (Very Loud!)

I'm getting a very loud speaker buzz in the Left speaker on my brand new GX700. (seriously, I've had it less than a week)
It goes away sometimes then comes back if I move it so it seems like it's a loose component.
I've found it also goes away about 90% of the time when I turn my laptop upside down! Which would confirm it is a loose component.
Is there any way I can fix this? As I ordered it from California and I live in Ireland so it would cost a lot and take a long time to send it back to get it repaired.
Thanks!

  • DVD Drawer Buzzes Very Loudly When Disk is Being Played...

New T Sat L755-S5170...when a DVD or CD or program disk is inserted into drive drawer, and 'played', the drive drawer buzzes and vibrates very loudly. There is noticeable vibration on drawer edge, when I lightly hold the drawer, which slightly reduces the vibration and noise, but noise & vibration are still present...Not pleased. Any ideas or tips, short of returning this new laptop? Thank you, motordavid

Thanks, but I am quite familiar with how DVD drawers/drives sound, over the past 30 yrs of laptops and desktops... this one was remarkably noisy: almost like any given CD or DVD or program disk was spinning eccentrically. I took it back in to where I had bought it; the 'genius tech guys' at Staples told me it was 'normal', lol! I brought it back home, and took the disk drawer out completely and reinstalled it carefully: no more loud noise, though it still plays disks more nosily than any I have ever had. The replacement option is fine, if one wants to turn in their new/not yet a year old computer, which of course is loaded with one's own personal photos, docs, etc. Not fun, even if fully backed up to a device or, the cloud. They are making these things flimsier and crummier by the day, imo, regardless of brand. GL, mD

  • MSI NX8600GTS-T2D256E-OC very loud HSF!!!

I just got an 8600GTS OC for my HTPC with that Arctic-Cooling-styled HSF hoping that, like Arctic cooling products,  the thing would be efficient and quiet. Wrong! The 8600's HSF can be heard from another room, which defeats the purpose of keeping it in my HTPC.
I had opted against the heatpipe version of the card, because they usualy require good airflow, which most HTPC cases do not provide.
Other than the noise, the card works perfectly.
I like the design of the HSF, I just think it needs to be slowed down. What are my options to make the 8600GTS quiet?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Piiooo, sorry if I change the subject a bit here, but ...
... you are probably a good guy to ask my question because you have both cards I'm considering to buy.
I have a 6800GT (agp) card on a Neo2 Platinum. I'm going to buy a PciEx for my new Neo4-F board. All the rest will be approx. the same as on my sig except for PSU (new one is OCZ 700W 4x 12v 18A).
Would the 8600 GTS be enough of an improvement over the 6800GT? I mean is it's performance such that I would end up with apporx. the same performance as my present 6800GT? Or would you recommend getting an 8800GTS?
BTW, I play games occasionally only.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jose

  • ITunes 7 and very loud buzz during music playback

I upgraded to iTunes 7 and now when I play music on my iMac G4 I occasionally get a very loud buzz breaking into the music. It seems totally unpredictable and it sounds like a very loud, annoying alarm. I think it only appears in the left-hand speaker, but not sure. It never happened with previous versions of iTunes and I haven't added any additional software since upgrading iTunes and Quicktime. It's such a jarring sound that I'm almost too scared to play music through iTunes now because the buzz creates a real shock to the nerves when it happens. Any ideas? I haven't adjusted any preference defaults in iTunes or Quicktime since downloading the upgrades.

Same issue here with iPhone 6 iOS 8.1.3 and now with iOS 8.2.  New Pioneer DEH6700BS.  Took back to shop and had new deck replaced - SAME ISSUE. Mine is around 7:30 minute and same drop out right after that as you are seeing.  I have tested with iPod Touch and my son's iPhone 5C and I don't get this issue despite multiple testing scenarios.  Looks like the common denominator is the iPhone 6.

  • Xbox party chat, I have to speak very loudly for i...

    Hi,
I found out I need to speak very loudly for the Xbox 360 to register my voice for the online party chat. Is it possible this is to do with my internet connection? I would have thought no? as it does work as I say when I speak very loudly. I have tried two different Xbox 360's, controls and headsets on the same home hub 2.0.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Definitely doesn't sound like an internet issue, if it resolved last time then it might be something else, the problem would have be ongoing from you sounding low to the Xbox chat cutting out. I get this a lot of the time on PSN, peoples words cutting out etc.
Either way, there isn't an internet remedy, nothing that can affect your low voice chat, sounds like hardware issues, even possibly on the Xbox's, i know you've tried to but something to possibly rule out.

  • My headphone audio output on imac makes a very loud low freg buzzing sound.

I have my Imac hooked up to my home studio for recording music. It is currently hooked up to my high quality rane mixer, which has superior sound quality. But for some reason every time I plug a cord into the headphone jack to my mixer, TV or anything else from the Imac headphone jack, it comes out with a very loud low frequency humming/buzzing noise even on very low volume settings, even with the bass turned all the way down. It is extremely annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? I would expect a little more from apple products. Especially with something simple like this, since these machines are mostly designed for video/audio production. . I have tried switching my cords around and changing my setup for months now. No luck. And, no, my imac does not have an optical out and I think that would probably solve the whole problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Do you have your recording equipment isolated from the computer equipment? These buzzes and rumbles are usually easily solved by making sure that your audio equipment is plugged into a different electrical circuit than the iMac.
However, yes your iMac does indeed have digital audio. I do not know of an Intel model that does not have digital audio. The audio ports do both analog and digital audio. To use digital audio you need a Toslink cable with a miniplug adapter on the iMac end of the cable.

  • Macbook has a very loud noise

When I turn on my Macbook Pro it has a very loud whirring noise. The noise continues for the whole time the macbook is turned on. Sometimes it becomes a little quieter but always is so loud my kids complain about it. The macbook is 5 years old but had a new graphics card/chip 2 years ago. The noise started about 2 weeks ago.
I took it to a genius at mac to check if the hard disc was failing and he couldnt diagnose any issue. Thought it might be the fans needed cleaning out.
    Anyone got any ideas?
(I am constantly backing up in case the disc is about to fail)
    Thanks

Yes, very likely, Ive seen endless clogged laptop and notebook fans ,......a lot of them were horrific
Dust and fuzz residue caked onto the internal fan
    Dust bunnies and Fluffy’s fur
Your Macbook’s cooling system, including fan and rear vents pull cool air in from the back and (in the case of the Macbook pro) also from the left ports bringing this air around the processor, GPU, and heat sync and blow it out the back, as such your Macbook acts like a little vacuum cleaner of the air around you. If you use your notebook in a dusty area or around a lot of pet fur, this can quickly, even under seemingly ideal clean rooms, accumulate inside your notebook especially on the fan blades reducing its capacity for cooling and in a worse case scenario seize your fan due to caked on dust on the fan blades. Avoid very dusty areas or places where, over the long term you know fuzz, fur, or even smoke can enter into your Macbook.
Is it making a buzzing or scraping noise?
If you only hear it in a quiet room, that is normal.
    noisy fan reasons:
A: you notice it more in a quiet room (the typical case) which is normal, all is AOK
B: fuzz and dust has caked onto the blades causing the fan hub to get off balance and make a buzzing sound.
C: fan rotor is going bad and making a whirring or buzz noise (rare).
D: Fan is spinning up due to excess heat from gaming, heavy graphics (typical, all is OK)
    A and D are normal
    B and C are not.
Do you use it in a dusty area or where there is a lot of pet fuzz?   Laptop fans act like little vacuum cleaners and take in dust etc. from the ambient air around them.
If B and C continue for a long time (B is just a cleaning), they eventually cause the fan to either seize and/or die.
Good news, if that happens, and out of warranty, fan is a very cheap fix.
Bad news, if you let the fan die and continue to run same, you can overheat your unit and cause unwanted damage.

  • T440s Ultradock Speaker Buzz

I have a set of 6 new T440s laptops along with Ultradocks. I ordered 2 sets of 3, with a month inbetween. I am having a problem where all of my Ultradocks produce a very loud buzzing noise from the connected speakers whenever the laptop is turned off or undocked. If the laptop is docked and powered on, everything sounds fine.
I have contacted support and they are sending me a replacement dock, but since the issue is so consistent and effects all my docks, I doubt it will help. Is anyone else experiencing this, is there any fix?
    Solved!

    kireta,
I can assure you that this will be addressed.  There is a hardware fix in the pipeline and as soon as I have more information, I'll share it.
I suppose your feedback on review sites is fair - other customers will benefit from your experience.  Not all may use external speakers, and I believe this symptom occurs when the speakers and dock have power and the thinkpad is removed.  Perhaps some will just power off the speakers when they eject the ThinkPad.
I appreciate your skepticism and find it sobering that it is assumed (with resulting negative narrative) that we won't address an issue.    That certainly isn't the reputation I want us to have.
    Best regards,

  • Very Loud Static on iPhone

I have been unable to find any help anywhere for this, so hopefully somebody here can help.
When talking on the iphone, I experience short bursts of very loud static/white noise, sounding almost as if the other person were driving down the highway with all their windows down. I've determined that the static is coming from my phone, and the other person does not experience it. The static cuts out while the other person speaks, but cuts back in when they are silent. It happens whether I use the apple headphones or just the iphone, as-is. It's real frustrating.
Has anybody had a similar problem and been able to fix it?
    Thanks

Hey Ride1992, the reset seems to have taken care of the problem. It's been about two days, and I haven't experienced the static problem. Thanks for the help

  • Speaker Buzz on Original iPhone after 2.0.1 Update

I've been having intermittent speaker buzz while listening to music after updating to 2.0.1. Really loud static sound that goes on for up to a minute. Anyone else?

Actually, it appears there is an issue with 7.1.1 which a lot of us are experiencing. See here:

  • Iphone speaker is very low

    Dears,
Why is the iphone speaker is very low compared with the rest of available brands in the market?
Sometime I can't hear the caller especially when I was in street.
Is there any application could be useful ?
    Thank you

IDK if it;s a problem or not, but when I was in the Apple Store a few weeks ago, I played with 3 iPhones, specifically the speaker phone option and I too noticed that the speaker phone option isn't as loud as my current phone's (v500 motorola)

  • IS THERE A WAY OF INCREASING THE VOLUME ON A USB DOWNLOADED WITH I TUNES? WHEN I PLAY MUSIC FROM IT IN MY BMW IT IS NOT VERY LOUD.

IS THERE A WAY OF INCREASING THE VOLUME ON A THUMB DRIVE DOWNLOADED WITH ITUNES MUSIC? WHEN PLAYBACK ON BMW RADIO, EVEN WITH THE RADIO VOLUME AT MAX, MUSIC IS NOT VERY LOUD.

Can't answer the query, since I don't use thumb drives and my volume's very responsive. That said, please don't post using ALL CAPS. That's considered shouting and is very disconcerting.

  • Optical drive is very loud - why?

My optical drive is so loud it sounds like it's ready for takeoff. I've only had my late 2008 MacBook Pro for a couple of months and had no problems with CD's until just recently. They play just fine, but the drive keeps spinning at top speed throughout the time the CD plays. It did not do this until recently, and some of the referenced CDs were fine previously. I have had several optical drives in the past and all have behaved the same except this one. What I believe should be typical behavior: as the drive begins to read the disk it usually gets a little louder, then a little louder, then a little louder again, then backs off a level or two as you are listening/watching. Not silent, but not spinning at top speed either. Is this correct?
I took it to the genius bar today and they told me it was fine (in the middle of a very loud, busy store - I'm not sure how they could tell). They wouldn't allow me to compare it to another machine of theirs because they said that three different types of drives are used (in a late 2008 MacBook Pro???). When he confirmed that I'm stuck with this drive, I inquired how much it would cost to get a different/best new drive installed. He told me they never know which of the three drives they will get when they place an order. So even with Apple Care I can't BUY a decent drive????
I just want to be able to play CD's and not be blasted by the volume in order to cover up the ridiculously loud drive. And yes, I also download and copy music to my hard disk........but don't always want to do that.
At this point I don't even care about the cost..... I just want something that's right. Any suggestions on a new drive and where to get one?

same problem. i hate this things. 2000 euros, i don't accept this problems.

  • Apple put in a new hard drive, but not the computer is VERY LOUD!

I just got my 13 month old Intel iMac back from the Apple store -- it needed a new hard drive. When I first turned on the computer, it was very loud, and I thought they gave me someone else's computer by mistake, so I checked the Serial Number, and apparently it's my computer.
I can't take this noise. What's going on? The fan wasn't broken, but this sounds like a new fan in the computer that is much louder than the old fan.
Also, the Apple geniuses told me the computer would use Time Machine to install all my old settings (I have an external hard drive hooked up to the iMac). But it's not working at all. Whenever I tell the new hard drive to "Restore to a Time Machine Backup" and select the backup hard drive, the computer screen goes gray, and it starts all over again (with the "Hello" screen in all the different languages.
Please help. I guess the MIP issue is the noise -- I can't work with a computer this loud. It gives me a headache. Should I just take it back to the Apple store, and have the noise fixed first? There never was a noise problem before I took the computer in for the broken hard drive.
    Thanks.

    HI,
    Try resetting the SMC. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1543
If that doesn't help, take it back.
Tip... whenever you take a computer in for service and you pick it up, make sure it's running without problems *before you leave*. Especially in this case where you got it home and now have this noise issue.

  • Very loud fan (or other part?) noise in MacBook Pro

Greetings!  My fan (I assume) has recently started making a very loud, horrible noise that sounds like a piece of plastic stuck in the spokes of a bike.  It's driving me crazy and making me a burden to be around me when I'm working...which is always.  Please help!  I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Perform a SMC reset:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964
If there is no change, open the MBP and examine it.  Look for dirt an debris, and if found, clean it out.  You will need a #00 Phillips driver.
If still no success it may be that the fan is faulty and should be replaced.  Make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a free and definitive diagnosis.  It is not an expensive repair.
    Ciao.
