MSI GX720 Audio

Hai!
I got this notebook for a few days now and Im very pleased with it, exept 1-2 little problems. System runs on Win Xp sp3. Downloaded all drivers from MSI and I got these:
I want to watch films and stuff on tv from notebook, so I bought a tv (Samsung LE-32A551) and I try to make a HDMI-HDMI contact. Screen is working fine, but no audio. I think tha HDMI-HDMI should deliver picture and audio also, but its not happening. So I started to try everything out, and I thought tha tv got some problems till I realised my audio on notebook has some devicees that i cant install. Like Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus and Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus. I reinstalled tha audio drivers, deleted all these devices before doing that and my sounds are great, exept these are coming back and they cant be upgraded or installed, and I cant move sound to tha tv. So I think these cause my problem with HDMI-HDMI audio.
Anyone know this connection better than me? Or know how to fix these Devices to work? Pls
PS.: I cant make work my webcam either, but thats a little problem.

That sounds very good:)
But when I wanted to try to turn my audio to AC 97' than I also realised that I dont have such a thing:S Than I tried to install AC97 but it didnt appeared after tha install. I only have 1 option. so theres tha audio and modem device that is bothering me, those probably cause tha problem that I cant have AC97 (I think), but I dont know how to get rid of them. Every of my installs went properly with no problems and error messages, so i dont understand why can this be. Once again I got Win Xp SP3. Maybe tha drivers are opimized for vista?
PS.: somehow after tha install of tha AC97 (whats still not working) and restart, my webcam suddenly turned on:)

  • Plugged in, Not Charging MSI GX720

I just bought my MSI GX720 less then a month ago, and just yesterday I was typing up some notes for school and I looked at my battery life and it said 96% plugged in but not charging. and I looked around online, some people said the battery is faulty or its old. But I have had this laptop not even 30 days yet. I read online that if I turned off my laptop took out my battery and then plugged in my laptop then put the battery back in it would solve it, I did that and it worked and i was able to charge to 100%. It worked fine all yesterday, but today again its stuck at 99% plugged in not charging.
Can I fix this easily or will I need to act on my 1 year warranty and totally replace it?

It's normal, it should start charging when it drops below 95%
Ahh thank you, I was getting worried my battery was faulty already =) I am very relieved this is normal.

  • MSI GX720 esata problem

    Hello,
I just bought an external HDD Rack - Raidsonic Icy Box IB-RD4320StUS2 and 2  HDDs - Western Digital Caviar Black 2000GB SATA2, exactly the same model.
I am using an MSI GX720 laptop with eSata  and Windows 7 Ultimate X64.
I have tried to set them up in Raid0 mode via the jumpers, but the system only sees one drive. I've also tried to set it in any other shape (JBOD, nRaid, Raid 1) and it never works - I keep seeing only one drive.
When I insert the drive via eSata, I get this popup message from the Intel Matrix Storage Management: "A storage device was connected. If this device is a port multiplier, only port 0 of the port multiplier will be active".
How can I format both the drives/use them both?
My system only sees them in USB mode, as two separate drives. If I try to span a partition across both drives, I get an error message.
How can I use them in raid0 via esata ? how can I format them ?
I have found no documentation on this, exept a FAQ on the  official page wich confirms the problem, but DOES NOT OFFER A SOLUTION.
Please note I have updated the bios and the Intel Matrix Storage Management today.
    Thank you!

First thing I would have done is what the manual says to do, and that is to try reinstalling by the using the Recovery Hotkey. There is a hidden partition on the hard drive which will reinstall everything to factory default. If you used the homemade Recovery DVD's and told it to reformat/repartition everything, then I'm sure you lost the hidden partition. here is a quote from the MSI Recovery Hotkey manual, page 3:
"When the DVD Fail-safe Recovery [Fail-safe Recovery] is selected, all data in the entire hard drive
will be destroyed and restored to factory default settings. (The data in all partitions will be destroyed.)
Under the above operation, the Hotkey Recovery from Hard Drive cannot be used any more."

  • Inspire 5.1 5700 speakers are not recognized by Win7 64 with MSI HD audio and soundblaster Cinema

I have had this speaker system since it first came out. It has worked without a hitch with many computers but this one. It is an MSI 87-gd65 Gaming system with an Intel i5, 16mb ram on Win7 Pro 64. It shows all of the drivers are working well but it will not recognize the speakers even I use the digital coax or analog outputs.
The HD audio the SB Cinema drivers are loaded with the latest drivers. Win reports them all working well. It will support headphones.
I can't remember if there is a special driver just for this system.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check that you have selected the correct speaker setup under your Sound settings/Control Panel. Based on your description, you should have a Sound Blaster on-board audio solution. If you are updating any drivers, you should be downloading them from MSI's website as these are optimized for your specific system setup.

    Hi ty Colin,
All of the cables are the ones that worked with the old computer system until they were switched to this new one. All drivers are up to date. The MSI tech gave up after an hour.
The Cinema driver only allows for a 7.1 setup but shows only a two speaker graphic. The old driver on the old machine allowed me to select the speaker configuration and even test them. The speaker selection in the driver area is greyed out. The headphone selection works just fine.
I have downloaded and installed the Cinema driver from MSI twice but with the same result. The driver says it is for the win7 64.
Is there something on the Cinema driver setup that I am missing?
    thanks

  • MSI VOX Audio default settings keep changing on startup

I've had this VOX tuner for about a year and a half and I've used it on 2000, XP SP1, SP2, etc...and I've fought with it every single time I reconfigure the O/S.  I am a computer support professional - I know a couple of things about drivers, registry file, etc...and I STILL can't get this thing to work consistently!
Anyway, when I install the drivers and MSIPVS software, it always selects the MIDI synth input instead of Line In as the default audio input setting.  I reconfigure MSIPVS and tell it to use Line In instead - everything works fine.  Then I exit and restart MSIPVS - it goes back to MIDI and I have to reconfigure the audio to use Line In every single time I run the software.  Of course, that means the recording doesn't work - because as soon as I click on record, it sets the audio default back to MIDI synth again.  I've used two different audio cards with this and they all do the same thing (SoundBlaster Live! value and a SoundBlaster Audigy 2).  I've used several different motherboards - I've completely replaced all components in my computer several times and I always have this same problem.
I've got an internal MSI TV tuner card on another machine running this same software - it has the same problem.  It won't exit half the time (the window closes but you can still hear the audio running until you restart the computer).
The hardware seems fine, but the software is unbearably poor!  I'd drop the software in a second if I could find something else that works better.
The weird thing is that in uninstalling, reinstalling, cleaning out the registry, fiddling endlessly -once in a while I can actually get it to work, but I have no idea what I've done to make this work twice in a row.  I've reinstalled the software dozens of times now, reinstalled Windows...I don't know what else to try.
Obviously, I've upgraded all audio and video drivers - none of that makes any difference.
If I open the SoundBlaster mixer program, as I start the MSIPVS program, I can see the MIDI and Line In channels get muted and un-muted but by the time the software loads, it's defaulted back to MIDI Synth again.
Anybody have ANY ideas?  I'm desperate to try anythig now.  I'm considering throwing the whole thing out and getting an ATI tuner or something completely different - as long as it doesn't use this Intervideo software...
    Thanks.
Oh yeah...one more thing I've noticed is that the WinCinema Manager causes all kinds of problems - if this program is running, the channel keeps changing to 1, 11, or 111 - it seems to be sending some kind of remote control signals to change the channels so I've had to disable this program - then the channels seem to work fine (but maybe it's causing my audio problems...?)

  • MSI VOX audio problems

I have window 7 x64 bit and the software is not compatible, however I did find an alternative software program that works perfectly except there is no sound transferance from the audio (RCA) input to the usb out to the computer. The video is excellent however.
I'm using the built in audio of my Asus P6T. Viewing the window 7 mixer shows no audio playback from the unit.
I'm using native drivers that Windows 7 has incorporated but I also tried the drivers from msi using compatibility mode/admin function.
    Any other ideas?
    Thank you.
MSI VOX TV BOX USB 2.0

    Yup, it works.
If anyone wants to use it as a capture device with windows 7 x64, then let windows 7 use default drivers and install a free program called Golden Videos : http://www.nchsoftware.com/goldenvideos/index.html
No tuner though but that's ok;)
BTW, do you really need the transformer for power or is the USB power source adequate?
    Thanks again!

  • MSI GT70 audio (headphone) jack makes weird noise after a few seconds

I recently got my laptop its an MSI GT70, i plugged in my headphones to the correct jack, and the laptop detects it and all is fine, but then when i play something with audio, it starts playing normally for a few seconds then the audio goes to a weird sound, kind of like everything turns to like an echo sound, i have tried multiple things, like changing the default format (the bits and HZ), and every time i do change it, it goes ok for a few seconds and then turns back to the echo-ish sound. i don't think something is wrong with the drivers tough.

i know it' been a while, but i resolved the problem finally, it wasn't anything with the drivers or hardware, i few days ago, i wanted my laptop be loud, but i raised the volume and it wasn't really loud as most laptops, so i checked around my laptop then i went to my icons i clicked sow hidden icons to see what was related to my sound i found thx tru studio pro settings in there, i double clicked it, clicked on speakers and realized they were on low that's why my laptop had low sound, so after i resolved it, i went to settings to see what it had to offerm i saw select your speaker setup, it had headphones, external speakers, and built in speakers, i automatically got my headphones and plugged them in, the thx turned from built in speakers to external speakers, then i listened to something and it was still bad, so i changed it to headphones, and it was perfectly fine after than,    , but i still dont know why it turns to external speakers, i think it has something to do with realtekhd, but it's a start, thanks to everyone for the replies

  • MSI GT70 audio not working with hmdi after windows 8.1 update

When I connect my laptop to the TV, the video comes out fine, but the audio for the TV does not show up in playback devices. It worked fine with windows 8, but after the windows 8.1 update it stopped.
I have tried updating realtek drivers, but it still doesn't show up. updating other drivers also doesn't work. plugging the cable into the computer then booting it up also doesn't work like it did for other people. This is really making me mad... any help would be appreciated.

Pah, no probs to my ext. monitor speakers via HDMI, GT70 0NE, Win 8.1.
Have you tried assigning HDMI one on audio tab as default and see if sound will come out to tv? if so then that was the problem.

  • Where to get MSI GX720 9-cell battery in EU?

    Hi everyone,
for some time i have MSI GX720X-026CZ (czech republic market). I have purchased it with 6-cell battery. I am interested if there is any place within EU which sells 9-cell batteries?

If it is original Lenovo li-ion or li-poly battery then no, they have already been recalibrated in factory for immediate use.

  • MSI VOX Audio / Video Sinc problem

    Hi All.
Last week i bought a VOX TV Tuner.  Nice device works well except for what i want it for.
When I try to cpature at Full PAL DVD resolution I get audio / video sinc problems.  The audio is usually ahead of the video.  Half PAL DVD or below  it's fine.
I suspect it is the basic design of the box that is the trouble.  Having the audio feed to the sound card rather than than in the USB2 feed has been a no no ever since the problem was discovered back in the USB 1 days.  USB2 is capable of 400Megbits..
However I contacted another user who has no problems and says there is a patch for Direct x PAL video capture.  Does any one know of this patch or has any one had the same problem as I have??
This device seems so new that there is no info on the net about it..
    TIA.
System :  P4. 2.4 Gig, 512 Meg ram, fast HDs, Direct X 9.0 (have not installed 9.0b yet) Asus Mobo P4Pe.  Matrox Mystique video card. Win 2K SP4

  • MSI VOX audio ROAR

i just got this card today
and i plugged it in, all is good, video works great.
    and then the audio :(
there is like a big HUMMMMM roaring sound ..
i hvae tried different cable wires coax that is, even with rca components does the same thing..
i have tried one laptop and two desktops same thing
    anyone else?

The problem is in part because it's drawing more power than the port can supply.   A viable alternative to the power adapter (which is next to impossible to find) is a powered USB 2.0 Hub.  I've found that using a powered USB 2.0 hub will get rid of the audio distortion, and it even clears up some of the snow effects that some people are reporting.  Until I hooked in the hub, I just thought the visual effects were just bad reception.
Even then, you may have to dedicate the hub entirely to the VOX, because I've found that adding even one additional device that draws any power at all will bring back the hum (or warble -- see my own posting on this).  I'm guessing that the VOX is drawing (or trying to draw) more than the USB 2.0 spec of 5V at 500mA per port, as I've seen this behaviour on several brands of hubs using my own VOX.
On some systems, pulling all your USB devices except for the VOX will get you the same effect, but as many devices go through USB these days, that's not really an option for some of us.
Oh, on a side note, if you're still intent on finding a compatible adapter for it, after a bit of detective work and experimentation, it looks like the specs for the power adapter are as follows:
    5VDC, 500mA, negative tip.
I've not found a compatible adapter yet, but the Mitsubishi G310's cell phone's adapter is close.  It's 5.80VDC, 480mA, +ive tip.

I know that there is a spot on my motherboard inside my laptop for 32GB MLC Mini PCIe Solid State Drive,  has anyone tried installing one and successfully installed an OS?  thanks for the replies.

I thought you just put one in where you normally put a wireless network card.  There is two slots for mini pcie on the MB.  This is not a typical ssd drive.  It is one that go in the netbooks.
