MSI H55M-E23 Mother Board is it compatible with Usb 3.0?

Just curios if the MSI H55M-E23 Mother Board is it compatible with Usb 3.0?
Thank you!

if you are asking if its able to use a USB 3.0 Device then the answer is yes but it will operate at USB2.0 speeds only on the ports as they are only USB 2.0 ports and USB 3.0 devices are backward compatible and can be used on USB 1.0a and USB 2.0 ports but will work only at the USB revision speed its connected to!

  • Power supply for MSI 645 Ultra mother board

I need to replace the power supply for a MSI 645 Ultra mother board. I've available a switching power supply Allied model DR-B500E, that doesn't have the -5V output (infact its 20 pin ATX power supply connector has no wire in pin 18).
Can I use this power supply with the MSI 645 Ultra?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, here I am. Sorry for delay but I had some problems with the PC (as NTLDR missing).
However now is ok and I can confirm that it runs ok also with power supply without -5V output.
Thanks a lot for the support and best wishes for Christmas and new year.

  • MSI 890GXM-G65 mother board help

Hi, need some major help.  I just got a MSI 890GXM-G65 mother board / AMD Phenom II X6 processor.  Installed it in the Antec Fusion Micro ATX case and the fans spin, seems like everything is powering but no video from the onboard video.  I’m using a corsair vx 550 powersupply.  No matter what I try I can get anything on the monitor.  Is this a grounding issue? Powersupply not good enough? I just tried taking the memory out to see if it would beep and nothing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Compatible with USB 1.1?

I have an old G4 and before buying a new 4th gen nano, I want to be sure it's backwards compatible with USB 1.1. I know that transferring data will be excruciatingly slow, but I want to be sure I can connect it to my Mac.

I have no first hand experience, but traditionally all iPods up to the new ones just announces have all worked on USB1.1 ports. I assume (but do not know for sure) that the new ones will also continue to work with slow USB1.1 ports.
I was just looking at the new Classic user guide and there is a mention of... "Note: A USB 2.0 port is recommended to connect iPod classic. USB 1.1 is significantly slower than USB 2.0." so I assume the same holds true for the new Nanos.
Yep, just checked. In the Nano user guide...
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_nano_4th_genUserGuide.pdf
on page 65 (chapter 7) same quote. So you look good to go. Although there have been errors in the past with Apple's new manuals which had to then be updated. Hopefully this isn't one of them.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • FF code on MSI 990fx-GD80V2 mother board

So here is the issue. A couple weeks ago my computer crashed. When i say crashed, it just completely turned off instantly. After re powering the machine, i get no video but everything powers up, all fans spin, graphics card led lights come on etc. To put a long story short, after investigation i assumed it was the mother board and/or processor and replaced them both. During this process i had to RMA a bad 990fx-gd80v2... now i have another one and it is doing the same damn thing the original one was doing. Everything powers up but there is the pesky FF code on the led post read out. Guys i have done everything within my IT knowledge base to test and fix this issue. Now i am asking for your help. I have also replaced the power supply just in case. I have tested all boards in a bench setup on cardboard, tested each individual stick of ram, tested multiple processors and psu's...is it possible i got ANOTHER bad board or is this something crazy to do with the BIOS?
    Specs are as follows
    MSI 990fx-Gd80v2 mainboard
Amd 8120 zambezi eight core processor with stock cooler (was liquid cooled with original board but removed)
    16gb G-SKill Ripjaw series DDR3
EVGA Geforce GTX 590 Classified 3GB
    Silverstone 1500 watt PSU
    2 Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB sata drives
    Blu-Ray drive
    6 fans ranging from 80mm to 150mm
Any input would help. Thanks guys.

When you get them, install just 1 stick of memory and do a full cmos clear. If it works, check the bios version and if it stable update to the most recent.
That cpu requires B5, which I think the v2 ships with:
    7640vB5.zip
So long as the bios is at leave b5, go ahead and add the other stick and go from there. You can also try just a single stick of the memory you already have, then switch them, perhaps 1 stick is bad.
let us know how it turns out.

  • MSI Z77A - GD55 mother board. Does not start.

    Hi
My completely new computer does not start. It's completely dead. (worked fine yesterday)
There is a power button / lamp on the mother board, it blinks continually when power is connected. Nothing at all happens when I press the computers power button or the power button on the mother board.
Is this a problem with the mother board or could it be the power supply that has failed?
thanks for any help at all

    My system:
Cool Master HAF X Big Tower
    MSI Z77A - GD55 Socket 1155
XFX ProSeries Core Edition 550W PSU
    Intel  LGA1155 Core i7 - 3770
Corsair Cooling Hydro H60 CPU cooler

    Gainward GeForce GTX670 2GB GDDR5 PCI-E
    Samsung SSD 830 Series 256GB BK SATA3.0
I have yet not tested to do any changes on the hardware.  I have only tested switching power cable. (not sure why it would help, but I tried it anyway)

  • Is The iPod Touch Backward Compatible With USB 1.1 Connections?

Hi. I intend to get the iPod Touch soon. But, before I make the leap, I'd like to know whether the iPod Touch is backward compatible with my older USB 1.1 connections. Any help will be appreciated here. Thank you.

    Hello Castlegard,
As mentioned, the Minimum System Requirements for the iPod Touch does specify USB 2.0, see the requirements here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1323
While it is theoretically possible to sync over a USB 1.1 connection, your mileage may vary. Consider that USB 1.1 has a transfer rate of 12Mbit/sec, where USB 2.0 is 480Mbit/sec, so USB 2.0 is basically 40x faster. Transferring small files may succeed, but when you try to get iTunes to update or restore an iPod Touch, it will be trying to push a 300MB file (approximately) through a 12Mbit pipe. Trying to do updates or restore via USB 1.1 will often result in iTunes timing out before the process is complete.
If I were to try to sync a 1.5GB movie over a USB 1.1 connection, I could probably go to downtown Sydney and have a nice dinner and attend a concert at the Sydney Opera House and still get back before the sync was complete. BTW, I live in California...
If your computer is a desktop tower, upgrading to USB 2.0 is a relatively inexpensive proposition. If you are not a handy person with a phillips screwdriver or electical devices, most computer dealers or resellers will install for a nominal fee.

  • When will USB 3.0 be truly backwards compatible with USB 2.0 audio interfaces?

    hello
I own a U46DJ mkII audio interface.  I use the interface for music production, particularly recording vocals.
The device performs well on my windows laptop, I can record clean vocals with no artifacts. On the macbook pro however, the incoming audio signal is full of digital pops and clicks.
After spending a few days searching for solutions on google I narrowed it down to the USB 3.0 ports on the new macbook pro.
Lots of people with with all different brands of audio interface are experiencing problems while connecting them to USB 3.0 ports.
Here is an article on the topic: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2012/06/usb-3-0-backwards-compatible-in-theory-but -some-audio-drivers-arent-cooperating/
So, when will USB 3 be truly backwards compatible with our USB 2 devices?

    Tuesday. That's what I heard.
Perhaps the driver is the problem. Check with the interface manufacturer.
I have a Focusrite USB interface that sounds great but Pro Tools and Logic kept crashing when I used it.  I went back and forth with Focusrite, they had several beta drivers which they sent me, none of which fixed the problem. Turns out the interface works better without the driver from the manufacturer.
I find it hard to blame Apple for this. It's not like they didn't have the ML beta out for a long time for all the device manufacturers to test their drivers and their hardware with. Apple can't keep tabs on every third party developer on the planet and design their software and hardware to keep all of them happy.
If you want to give Apple some feedback you can do it here: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback

  • Rev. A Beige G3 DT compatible with USB 2.0 PCI cards?

Having had a lot of luck upgrading and updating some old Sawtooth G4s I decided to try my hand at something more interesting - an old Rev. A Beige G3 that fortuitously dropped into my lap.
I tried installing a 5-port USB 2.0 card with an NEC chipset, since apparently NEC's chipsets are the most compatible chipsets with the Mac. However, I've been getting Type 11 errors on startup everytime. Curiously, an older 2-port USB card works fine.
So my main question is: has anyone else seen this occurring? Have other successfully used NEC-based USB 2.0 PCI cards on their Rev. A Beige G3s?

Sorry for the inordinately long time it took me to reply. The OS running on the G3 is 9.2.2.
After doing some digging around I discovered a trick with replacing the OS 9 USB adapter card extensions with those from the installer for USB Adapter Card 1.4.1 updater. What I did was that I took out of my extensions folder the following files: USB Authoring Support, USB Device Extension, USB Software Locator, and USBAppleMonitor. I then ran the 1.4.1 update, and everything seems to work - the computer recognized the card and USB mice and hard drives were detected by the system.
I'm normally not one for mixing and matching extensions, but I'm glad the card now works.

  • Is Ipod photo compatible with USB 1.1?

Can Ipod photo be used on older style PC with usb 1.1? I notice on the requirements for Ipod photo that you need USB 2.0.

    Hello James, welcome to discussions.
You can use USB 1.1... but it will be rather slow to transfer files.
What type of computer do you own? I would recommend that you install a Firewire card if you can, and use that.
The Adaptec Fireconnect 4300 card would only run about $40 and it would work great with your iPod.

  • TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player not compatible with USB speakers

I have a P850, using Logitch Z305 USB speakers. The speakers work fine with all other multimedia software such as WMP, iTunes or MPC, but not with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. The Toshiba program either won't work or will crash if the speakers are plugged in. Is anyone aware of a way to fix this?
    Thanks

This Logitech speakers are plug and play device that uses standard driver and are installed as any other plug and play device. I dont have it but I saw interesting movie on You Tube about it.
To be honest I dont understand why it cannot works with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. I think you are the first one who has reported about this issue.
Problem is that Toshiba doesnt support third part software or hardware so it is not easy to find solution for this.
I really hope there are other users who have fixed it or can offer some useful tip for this pretty strange issue.

  • Is iPad 2 compatible with USB 3.0 in Win 8.1

my laptop running windows 8.1 with USB 3.0 ports recognizes my ipad as a drive, but iTunes (most current 64 bit version) does not.  However, iTunes does recognize my classic 80 Gb iPod with no problem.  My USB 2.0 computer sees both just fine.  Any fix?

    Hi myltonlee,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend the steps in this article first if your iPad is recognized by your computer but not iTunes for Windows:

  • Is USB 3 compatible with USB 2 peripherals?

Can USB 2 peripherals (hard drives, USB microphones, et al) be used with a MacBook Air that only has USB 3 jacks?

You are correct. However, if you daisy-chain a USB 2 device to a USB 3 device you may well find that both devices operate at the speed of the slower device. I don't know that they can run independently off the same port.
I've used a USB mic in the past, though not on a MBA.

There are various home grown lists out there, none of which gives you a CERTAIN assurance that any particular drive will work. The only CERTAIN disk that will work is the one that is embedded in Time Capsule. Alternatively, if you have a Fry's Electronics store close, you can just pick a drive, try it out and return it if it doesn't work, by simply saying "it doesn't work with my system".
