MSI H61I-E35-B3 Mini ITX and Intel Xeon LGA1155 Cpu ?

Hi,
I've bought MSI H61I-E35-B3 Mini ITX board, it supports LGA1155 processors, core i3 / i5 / i7. My question is - have anyone tested this board with Intel Xeon processor ? For example Intel Xeon E3-1235 3.20GHz LGA1155. I've read in some other Mini ITX LGA 1155 boards descryptions, that they suport this cpu's. Maybe this one can also support it.

It's not in the supported list;  http://eu.msi.com/product/mb/H61I-E35--B3-.html#/?div=CPUSupport
Recommend to confirm with MSI Tech Support; http://support.msi.com

  • B75MA-P45 and Intel Xeon E3-1230V2, is a videocard necessary?

    Hi all,
I want to buy a MSI B75MA-P45  in combination with an Intel Xeon E3-1230V2, but do I need to buy a videocard if I only need to use the Linux console. I will be installing a VMware ESX on it.
    Thanks in advance

Since the Xeon doesn't have integrated graphics, I think you have to connect a kind of dummy plug to an onboard graphics port to trick the system into thinking it has graphics and monitor.

  • Hyperion Planning and Intel Xeon

    Dear All,
I am currently installing the following Hyperion products:
Essbase, Planning, Scorecard, Reporting and Analysis.
    Server specs:
Intel Xeon Processor E5540 (4 cores)
    22GB RAM
My concern is the Xeon, is it supported by Hyperion products or not?
    Your answer is very appreciated.
    BR,
    ioGGo.

    Hi,
Thank you so much for your answer. So far after installing Oracle DB, Essbase, Planning, Reporting and Analysis, Scorecard, and ODI on a single machine 16 GB Ram Xeon 4 cores and Windows Server 2003 32-bits, it seems like everything is working fine except Business Rules.

  • Parameter cpu_count and Intel Xeon

    Hello,
I have server HP ProLiant 380DL with physical 2 processors Intel Xeon 3.06GHz with Hyper Threading. My OS Linux show me that there are 4 processors (because of the hyper threading). Oracle parameter cpu_count has value 4.
Have anybody experience with the same processors and right settings of parameter cpu_count. (I know that oracle documentation recommends that don't change this parameter).
    Thanks for advice

CPU_COUNT is a parameter dinamically adusted by the Oracle instance. Oracle perfectly supports hyper threading and there is no need to change the value of this parameter.

  • VTx on MSI P43-Neo3 FR (1.0) and Intel Core 2 Duo E7400

    Good day guys...
I was trying to develop (beginner) on Android and I was using this machine for it. Well, the Android SDK has the Intel HAXM bundled with it, it's for VTx-feature of Intel.
Now, I know Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 is on the list that has VTx, but when I run the Intel HAXM installer, it detects that it was not supported. After a few clicks on google, there is somewhat a setting on the BIOS that would enable the use of VTx...
And that's why I asked here, is there something in P43-Neo3 that makes VTx disable or was it not supported?
*BTW, using XP Pro SP3 on this machine...

I know Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 is on the list that has VTx
It kind of depends on the exact version:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/36500/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E7400-(3M-Cache-2_80-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB)#ordering
Intel says: "See SPEC Details" which forces is to look here:
    http://ark.intel.com/products/36500/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E7400-(3M-Cache-2_80-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB)#orderingretired
Three versions of the E7400 are mentioned:
    LGA775      65 W   BX80571E7400   SLB9Y   VTx: No
    LGA775      65 W   BX80571E7400   SLGQ8   VTx: No
    LGA775      65 W   BX80571E7400   SLGW3   VTx: Yes
We need to make sure, that you have the third version first.
What is your current BIOS Version, by the way?

    Hello everyone
my Holiday Project is a reconfiguration of my AMD System to a Intel Platform.
The Mainboard for this will be the Z77A-GD55.
    My Problem is
i cant find on the CPU Compatibility List (Sorry, you are not allowed to post external links.) the E3-1230V2
I would like to order but only if I can be sure that the components fit.
    best regards

Any specific reason you prefer the Xeon over the i5 or i7 Ivy?
The only real difference is, you will need a discrete GPU card if you opt for the Xeon and you can use memory with ECC.
Here are the current supported CPUs http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-GD55.html#/?div=CPUSupport

  • Intel Xeon X3350.

Hello, I have many Intel Xeon X3350 Revision C1 (Socket 775 LGA) and i use the board with Intel workstation chipset. I do not tell the brand but I have problems of reliability in a few months from installation (capacitor problem) .
To work the workstations are operating 18 hours a day, 6 days a week.
I am convinced that many board for entusiast are very strong. Then I thought: why I do not buy the board with costs more affordable and easier to configure? What you recommend the MSI board with "normal" chipset that supports DDR2 and Intel XEON X3350 C1 that can work for at least 18 months.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Can the MSI H81I Mini ITX LGA1150 overclock out off the box pentuim g3258 ?

Hi everyone Im building a mini itx gaming computer and I want to know if the MSI H81I can overclock the g3258 easily and out off thé box ( I dont have any other cpu to make a BIOS update )
    Thanx
    Nalfein

Obviously voice inflection doesn't come across well in typing.  If we're here only to sing MSI's praises, it's not a forum.
"Fix the attitude" is little harsh considering MSI seems to be the only one following Intel's wishes.  Perhaps you missed the light hearted "Peer pressure:  Come on MSI...everybody's doin' it!  Lol" and the part where I said I like the board? ASUS, Gig and others as well as other MSI boards can run the little Haswell multiplier up, this H81i, bummer...nope.
No, overclocking it is not endorsed by Intel, MSI or anyone else for that matter and no company can endorse cranking a 3.2 chip to 4.7.  However, the web is full of H81/g3258 overclocks.  Like, for instance, Tom'sHardwareguide.com.  We all read the specs (or should) but as is well publicized, you don't need the expensive Z boards to work low end magic.
I've used MSI components since the Athlon 750 CPU was new and still have an old MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 in a drawer out of nostalgia. I would simply like to play with the multiplier and tinker up to 4.0 or something modest, just to see.    Heck, even ECS is doing it.  I wanted to stay with MSI products since I'm happy with them.  As a board, it's fine.  The news about updating the BIOS and rolling up the multiplier just isn't true.  (Yet)
Edit-Ok...I missed this: "Rules- Attack, abuse or otherwise 'bash' MSI or its products. We are only interested in providing help to users having problems with their hardware and seeking assistance."
Now I understand.  In a way the links in the next post help.  They all still endorse MSI products by specifying which boards are g3258 multiplier friendly.

    hi there guys,
will logic pro x run on my mac mini dual core intel i5 with 4gb of ram and mountain lion ?
I'm not sure if my machine is 64 bit - it is the current model base mac mini.
Many thanks for any help you can offer !

SkiJumptoes is right. 4GB is not enough to comfortably run Logic X.
Your Mac Mini will need DDR3 SODIMM RAM. That website seems incredibly steep though. I guess that's the price of finding it for you. You're better off going to any below:

Here is my information, my motherboard doesn't post. I've tried with everything installed initially, and then I took it out of the case and just tried the power supply, RAM, and CPU plugged into the monitor with same results. I have the speaker plugged in. I don't hear any beeps, and the monitor just shows a black screen

Exactly how do i RMA the board? Can I just send it back from where I purchased it?
Hold up there buddy, dont rma it yet. I have the same board, had the same problem straight out of box. MSI sent out a batch of those boards with the wrong jumper settings. Look on your motherboard near the rear  ios inputs. look for a header labeled jusb-pw2. flip that jumper to the top two pins and clear the cmos and you should be good

  • MSI GE60 0ND and Intel Dualband Wireless-AC 7260 plus Bluetooth

I recently bought a Intel Dualband Wireless-AC 7260 plus Bluetooth Adapter (Model Number: 7260HMW) for my MSI GE60 0ND to replace the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 135.
Wifi works without any problem, but bluetooth does not, even with the newest Intel drivers v3.1.1309.
The bluetooth device isnt even listed in the device manager - there are also no unknown devices.
I´m using Windows 8 - also tried Windows 8.1 and a Fedora 20 Live-CD with the same result.
There is no bluetooth device listed.
Could it be possible that bluetooth function of the Intel 7260HMW is somehow disabled in the bios?

I tried the Intel Dualband Wireless-AC 7260 plus Bluetooth Adapter in a Desktop Asus Maximus V Gene using a mPcie Combo-Adapter. Wifi and Bluetooth worked without any issue.
The Intel 7260 is definitly working.
Another issue regarding my MSI GE60:
I switched back to my Intel Centrino Wireless-N 135 and still have no bluetooth functionality. I thought it would be a driver issue, but there are still no bluetooth devices listed in the device manager Windows 8.1). Under Linux Fedora 20 are also no bluetooth devices present.
It seems like bluetooth is somehow hardware disabled. In bios are no bluetooth options visible
Edit: Using Fedora and FN-Key + F9 enabled bluetoth for the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 135 again. Maybe when the SCM / FN-Key Application will work under Windows 8.1, enabling/disabling bluetooth using Windows 8.1 will be possible too

  • HTPC Mini-ITX motherboard - Which CPU/APU to choose?

    Hi there!
I will soon start to build a HTPC setup, which will be used for 1080p (H264) playback through the onboard HDMI port, as well as audio playback through onboard toslink S/PDIF.
What to choose, Amd Fusion or Intel Atom /w the ION 2 GPU? I expect that the GPU part will be able to handle most of the H264 decoding, and that the platform will be stable and fully functional.
I already own a Asus E35M1-I mini-ITX motherboard which i currently use for my headless file server, but it seems to be somewhat unstable, and the network interface is missing some throughput (550Mbit/s). This causes uncertainty about if it is smart to choose the Amd Fusion setup.
    Any input/tips?
(This is not strictly related to Arch Linux, but the system will run Arch Linux, so i guess it should be okay to ask here in this forum)

As for your problems with your Asus board, is your BIOS up-to-date?
Sadly there are no BIOS updates other than the version shiped with the motherboard. I think I will just have to wait and see if Asus releases a new version. I will take a deeper look into the article tonight, thanks for the link!

I don't think you can choose a wrong solution these days. All the recent chipsets are perfectly capable of decoding 1080p. I myself am an intel-gpu-fan, because of the good and open source drivers. If your pc will be positioned in your living room, you should definitely investigate the noise levels of the onboard fans, PSU fans and case fans (not to mention the noise of the hard disk(s)).
That's why I have chosen to make my file server (which is in the basement) play/decode all the content and stream it over the network to a PS3, but there are many passively cooled DLNA-clients out there...
Regarding noise, i will probably use a cheap SSD/my old 4GB CF-card as local storage, and the motherboard will be one of the fanless versions. External laptop-style PSU. The noise level will not be a problem.
Regarding a pure DLNA client: I want to be able to do other things on the HTPC in the future. And for now, it will in addition to XBMC run MPD for music and LIRC for IR remote control support. If i just wanted it for video playback, i could have easily gone for a DNLA set top box with a lot less hassle

I'm considering an E350 setup myself, especially since the Intel offerings do not support 24 Hz, and that's a showstopper for me. That would mean either I'd need to get an Atom/Ion combo (which is too underpowered for my taste when it comes to the CPU) or get a Sandy Bridge with an nVidia card, which means higher power usage. From what I gather, Zacate should be a bit smoother than the Atom setups, and a bit more power-efficient as well.
Clvn, if network performance is your concern (and I doubt 550 Mbps is a bottleneck for what you're doing, but then again, I don't know what else your setup is doing while it's streaming HD stuff), there's only one solution: get an Intel gigabit card. Or you can go for a full Intel platform as well though, if that 24 Hz problem is not an issue for you.
I did not know anything about the 24Hz frequency limitation, I have not paid any attention to it. I think i will have to read a little bit about it. Thanks for the input about that!
SInce the E350 platform performs better, it's sad that it seems a bit unstable (at least that is my experience so far..). Hopefully this will be better with driver updates.
About the network speed: That motherboard will continue to be used as a file server for a while longer (with the onboard NIC), untill it will be used as a dedicated firewall with a dual gbit NIC (at least that is the plan). The 550Mbit/s throughput is not a problem, but it seems a bit strange that it does not perform better. I've changed the TP and the port at the switch, but still got the same available bandwidth. That too will probably be fixed with either a BIOS update or a driver update.

And zenlord made me remember to ask you what you will use the HTPC for, since in some cases a networked media player like a WD TV Live! might suffice, too.
I will do some reading at phoronix about the AMD Fusion driver support. And regarding devices like WD TV, i would like to have a fully functional pc. MPD and LIRC will be used on regular basis.
After all the feedback in the thread, i think the Intel/VDPAU option will be a lot more safe and stable. I will just have to read a bit about what the missing 24Hz support from Nvidia's side.
If i choose Intel Atom/ION, i think this Asus card will do the trick: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_ … /AT5IONTI/

  • DIY/DYO MediaCenter PC (mini-itx mobo)

    Hi,
I wasn't really sure which subforum should I post this to, but anyway...
The other day (well, actually night) I kind off got obsessed with the idea of buying a mini-itx motherboard and do some really custom low-end PC. The main use would be to have mp3s and movies stored so I could play them with a remote. Of course I'll  have other uses for it, but that would be mainly it.
So, next monday I'll be getting an Intel D945 GCLF motherboard. After that I'll start with a 1G DDR2 667MHz memory. I've got a 350W PSU lying there already, so I'll use that one. Also there's an extra CD drive at home, so I can start by trying a LiveCD.
What I'm getting at with this is that I'm going to install Arch on it, because I think that, even if other distributions would be more suitable, I can't help it: I wan't a KISS distro like Arch on it, so I can tweak it as I want.
I'm hoping I can make it boot fast (so it actually feels like an appliance, not a PC that requires a keyboard to make it boot if something goes wrong).
My idea is to make a case from scratch with spare parts from other leftover ATX cases from work. I'll try to make a cube-case from that.
Regarding software, I'll try xbmc and elisa (they both look great, but I don't know if the hardware will take it).
I'll upload pics from the project as I get it going, if you archers are interested.

Well, I've got a little more serious with the project.
    I got the mobo:
(the Intel manual only serves structural purposes)
Yesterday I received a 320G Samsung SATAII 16MB 7200RPM drive, and a OCZ DDR2 80MHz 1G RAM. I took the necessary cables from empty cases and a PSU I had laying there. Everything hooked:
I forgot to connect the P4 connector, so when I turned it on, it didn't worked =b
After fixing that, I got into the BIOS:
    that's a really professional look =b
I didn't installed anything yet since I'm missing a cable, but I'm going to wait until I build the case... too much hastle to install it like that.
I thought about it, and the case is going to be made of acrylic, with some metal parts taken from old cases (to make it tougher). I'm using Google Sketchup to design the case. My idea is to take this general design and adapt it to this bigger PSU, and the regular DVD and HD drives it will be using.
The last component I will buy (not for the moment) will be a wireless PCI card.
Will post some pictures of the design when it's more mature.
