Msi h61m-p20(g3) dram frequency issue

First of all sry 4 my bad english.
I just bought a new motherboard for a secondary pc [msi h61m-p20(g3] , and a new ram set (kingmax/1333/1.5v).
The issue is that my motherboard from bios is set to 1066 and does not allow to set it to the corect freq (1333 ram based).
Is there any solution or some1 can help pls.

MSI H61M-P20 (G3) Issue

Ok so I bought a new computer just before the May bank holiday weekend, it's an Advent DT2410, specs are Intel core i5 3330, Radeon HD 6670, 8GBs of RAM and 2TB HDD. Anyway, I bought it because despite the 6670 in from purchase, I wanted to upgrade that. So basically the motherboard has PCIe 3.0 support, which to me says it can use PCIe 3.0 standard GPUs. So my problems began when I took delivery this morning of a brand new Zotac GTX 650 Ti AMP! edition, and went on my merry way to install the thing inside my computer. Lo and behold, it turns on, but nothing on screen, to which I was reminded of a post I read on some forum somewhere with regards to compatibility issues with this particular motherboard, I dismissed this at first because I was thinking "No, surely that's wrong, if the mobo has PCIe 3.0 support, it must just be some error this guy has made" so anyway, having had the same problem, I want to ask MSI exactly why they label this motherboard as PCIe 3.0 capable, and yet none of the PCIe 3.0 GPUs are on it's "compatibility list" (Very difficult to find one of these, but I managed it, and no GTX 600 series cards, or Radeon HD 7000 series are on it! What the hell MSI?!?)

Firstly, did it work with the supplied card ?
Secondly, did you not just state that Zotac suspects a defective card.
Thirdly, you don't know what version of MB you have or if its an OEM or Retail.
Thus, until those facts are known, refrain from making statements like that. We all have our frustrations, but in your case, you bought a pre-assembled system on which we have some outstanding facts.
The users here will help where we can. Get the info and then re-assess.

That's what you should completely remove the mobo count the stand offs and make sure there are no extras or other objects shorting the mobo.

Well, I actually decided to try my GPU on my old Mobo, right now is working. I did all of that and of course, installed the chipset drivers, perhaps hoping that it would make the mobo recognize the PCI slot, which didn't happen. Of course I really much appreciate your help, but since all the options above didn't fix the problem, it turns out that I got a defective mobo, which is sad. Just to make myself sure, Im gonna try to get another PSU, but I don't think is gonna make any difference, since my old MB is more demanding than the new one. You are free to close this thread. Then again, thank you very much for your help.

H61M-P20 G3 motherboard 99 code shown right-below, non start

Hi, I bought yesterday a MSI H61M-P20 G3 mainboard, with Kingston KHX1600C9D3B1/4G - Memory and i3 Intel BX80637I33220 - Core I3-3220 processor. PS2 Keyboard and Mouse.
I have installed Window 7 32 bits, and sometimes when I turn it ON or restarting it, system doesn't starts it shows a black screen with a 99 code below at right side of the screen.
Its very strange because it doesn't happens always, also I have tried with the attached elements (keyboard and mouse). I don't know if it has relation or not with this 99 code, but when I disconnect the PS2 keyboard I have restarted and turned OFF many times and 99 code doesn't appears and system starts correctly, I will try today with an USB keyboard.
Could be the keyboard the reason of this 99 code with system non starting issue?
I wanna be sure if the mainboard have a failure to return it as a defectous part.

I cannot install Intel Graphics driver on my H61M-P20(G3) as BSOD error.

I recently bought MSI H61M-P20(G3) motherbord. When I try to install Intel VGA driver provided in the driver dvd with the motherboard my Windows 7 x64 does not boot. It hangs after the 1st restart after installing the driver. I tried 2 driver versions but it just fails. I tried both with and removing my AMD graphics card but no result :(

MSI 7788 (MSI H61M-P31) motherboard, intending to use 1.6V memory modules

Hello,
I am intending to purchase a dual channel kit of geil black dragon memory modules. The modules are working at 1.6V. As far as I remember, the moobo specs says that it supports 1.5V dual channel memory modules.
In BIOS, there is the option to change the memory voltage, but it gives me 1.65V.
Should I proceed and purchase the memory modules or I should go for standard 1.5V ?

I have dismounted the CPU cooler asembly after a continous burn in procedure and I achieved 120 celsius degree. I checked all the mosfets and the coils, all of them were cold. Speedfan didn't show that sensor reading.
I have installed though AIDA64 and it seems to find that reading as "AUX".

Terratec 2400i DT issues with H61M-P20 (G3)

Good morning,
I am experiencing an issue with a newly assembled system, running Windows 8, on H61M-P20 G3 motherboard, and a Terratec 2400i DT
In a nutshell, the Terratec driver fails to install and start
During installation, I get an error message stating the device could not be started
After a restart, the device manager always show the Terratec board as 'could not be started'
The same Terratec board works fine in another system
Any advice would be appreciated

Well I have not had a chance to test this particular board into another Win8 system.
That said, I did check on the Terratec forum, and it is supposed to be supported.
I did a few additionnal tests since I wrote this request, I upgraded my setup to Win8.1, and I have a different behaviour now.
- The driver can install properly
- Upon a reboot, the driver does shot as installed and loaded, but... I lost network connection (no IP adress acquired, even though the network driver is shown to be loaded correctly)
- MCE can scan, but does not detect any channel
- If I uninstall completely the Terratec driver, then reboot, I recover my network connection
I can repeat these tests and reproduce the exact same sequence above
This looks to me there is an overlap in PCI-E config space, between the network controller and the terratec board.

H61M-P20/w8 - Bios Problem

Morning all
i had a problem on the board H61M-P20/w8 with the LAN Card on XP sp3 OS...the driver from the MSI Website...
and nothing... so i saw the BIOS, was 3.2 and reading the bios updates on the website i that hv a Update correcting LAN issues...
i make the BIOS Flashing using M-Flash to 3.5 and, after this, its on a looping, the computer only run for 3 seconds and turn off then all over again...
Already tryed to make a CMOS Clear ( Taking off Battery, memory and energy ) nothing...
What i can do for ressurect it?

DRAM Frequency 400 (1:1)?

I have 2*512 MB DDR RAM Dual Channel PC4000 EL OCZ with MSI 865PE Neo2-
I have followed OCZ recommended settings for MSI 865PE Neo2,OCZ recommendations but when I set DDR frequency to 400 I get graphical problems in certain 3d games (flickering menus in Neverwinter Nights). .
If I set DRAM frequency to 333 (5:4 CPU/DRAM ratio?) the problems go away. My FSB is currently at 240 Mhz. I have a 2,6 P4.
Shouldn't my memory be able to work in DRAM Frequency 400 (1:1)?

OK.. :-D)Now I see where you typed OCZ 4000 RAM...But as you can see We dont always look at the Serial Number and we BOTH read your POST wrong,..It would be better when you are Talking about RAM speed to Double List the Specs. ie PC-4000 (DDR-500), as that is what I try to do in most Threads, as you can see, it is easy to misread (add another 0 ) and now we are all on the wrong Page .....Well now that we are on the SAME Page ..Your Memory should be able to reach Speeds of FSB=240X2=480 MHZ, But you most definitely Have it Set to "AUTO" instead of 400 MHZ in the "RAM Frequency" Option, as with it set to "Auto" the Chipset(BIOS) looks to the Modules SPD for the Speed that the Module is Rated for .....And if you still cant reach 240 FSB with it set to "Auto" Try Setting the Memory Timings to Speed and Your PAT to Slow.................Sean REILLY875

H61M-P20 Corsair 40GB SSD compatibility

Hi,
Just built a system based on H61M-P20 with 40GB F40 Corsair SSD as primary drive and another Hitachi 160GB as secondary drive, And it seems that every few boots the 40GB drive is not recognised by the bios.
I change Power Cable + sata cable + sata port and even a DIFFERENT Corsair F40 drive, But the problem returns....
Is there some incompatibility issue with that board and drive ?
I connected the drive to an older asus 775 board and it works fine.....
For the meanwhile I changed the F40 drive to OCZ agility 2 60GB and will see how it goes.....

Ok, now that some time has passed and I experimented with the updated corsair drive I can say that there is some compatibility problems with the H61-P20 AND the B75-E33 motherboards and the corsair drives.
It just does not boot every few boots, I Touch nothing and then on 2nd or 3rd attemts it boots again.
I replaced EVERYTHING (Even different corsair drives from the same model) after flashing latest motherboards bioses and it still behaves the same.
BTW changing the corsair 40 to the ocz 60 drive solved the specific problem I complained about in my 1st post. The client is working with the computer for about a month and a half without any problems.

648 and Dram Frequency

I just recently bought my msi 648 and i love it, but theres one thing I'm not sure about. In the Frequency/Voltage Control section in bios, the Dram Frequency reads "133".I have DDR266, shouldnt it read 266 instead of 133? I set it to 266 and rebooted, but unfortuantly my puter didnt reboot untill I cleared cmos =\. If anyone out there has the same board and experienced the same problem, tell me how you fixed it 8) My rig is below, thanks guys )

Your memory is running fine at 133 Mhz. It is 266 Mhz DDR(Double data rate). So the 133 Mhz that is shows in the bios is effectively running at 266 Mhz. You double the number of Mhz it shows there. So when you tried to do 266, it tried to do 266 X 2 and that is 532 Mhz. No DDR is up to that speed yet.

MSI P45Neo-F FSB:DRAM problem

Hi everybody! I need help!
My system:
Motherboard: MSI P45Neo-F (with lastest BIOS)
CPU: Intel C2D E7400 2.8Ghz @3.5Ghz (350Mhz x 10)
FSB:DRAM = 1:1 (manual setting)
RAM: 4x1GB DDR2 800 @700Mhz 5-5-5-15
System runs fine and stable with those overclocking setting, but the only problem is when the computer is turned off and cut the power (disconnect the cable or switch off the PSU) and then turned on the computer can not boot and I have to clear the BIOS to boot again with default setting. I found that problem was caused by the wrong FSB:DRAM setting: after cutting power then turn on, FSB:DRAM automatically returns to [Auto] value, causing the DRAM frequency was set to over 1000Mhz and the PC can not boot! It only happens when the PC is turn on affter cutting power, if I just shutdown and leave the PSU on, it's fine!
Any advice?

I'm using the lastest v1.9 BIOS, the older BIOS version came with the board had the same problem so I flashed to v1.9, but it doesn't work.

MSI H61M-P23 (B3) - Failed BIOS Update, PC Won't Boot

I attempted to update the BIOS on my MSI H61M-P23 motherboard and the update failed. Attempted to reboot the PC and no longer have access to the BIOS and the PC does not boot. Additionally, there are two short beeps in POST. Any suggestions on resolving this issue?

Installing a HD 7870 XT 2GB GDDR5 with Boost graphics card on a MSI H61M-P31 G3

Hi,
I have a MSI H61M-P31 (G3) motherboard in my PC and I recently purchased a HD 7870 XT 2GB GDDR5 with Boost graphics card. Before purchasing as far as I could tell the graphics card was compatible with the motherboard. However, what seems to be a similar issue with a lot of people installing new graphics cards is that when I put it in my PC and boot it up the monitor doesn't recieve any signal from it and stays blank. I have installed the drivers, including the optional ones, and they don't compete with my old graphics card drivers because they are the same AMD Catalyst Control Centre. I have trawled the internet and tried numerous things but nothing has worked. Is there a fix or are the componenets just not compatible?
