MSI Hetis G41 and double decker video cards

Hi everybody, I'm interested in buying an MSI Hetis G41 as a starting point for my new small form factor computer:
 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856167040&cm_re=hetis-_-56-167-040-_-Product
But I have no idea it can properly hold a double decker video card, since there are no pictures of the inside anywhere and reviews of the Hetis don't really exist. Specifically, can it fit the Sapphire 5750:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102859&cm_re=sapphire_5750-_-14-102-859-_-Product
Thanks for any help you can give.

This tiny system measures only 3.7” x 12.6” x 12.99”
I don't see any way that card could fit.
Besides, you miss the point of these 'ultra-small form factor' units, they are designed as low-consumption, simple desktop PCs. Not everyone wants to play games on a PC, some people just like to browse the net, send/receive emails, watch/listen to videos/music, and type letters. Thats the market these units are aimed at.
If you want a machine you can put a 5700-series (or other equivalent) graphics card for gaming, then MSI's small-form factor systems are not for you.

It appears the 15" 2.2 ghz isn't worth spending $400 more for, but you get the 1GB Radeon 6750M that has four times the VRAM than the 15" 2.0Ghz model and about 167% more performance. High settings on all current games with over 50 fps.
If your not into 3D gaming or just light weight, then the 2.0 Ghz (last years performance) will suffice on low-medium settings at about 30 fps.
The 13" is rather poor as it has integrated graphics. 30 fps on only some games.
The high res screen is a excellent choice and the anti-glare is great for viewing just about anywhere.
No messy films to replace at $30-$40 a pop.
A lot of people bring the glossy screens back once they hear about the anti-glare.
    http://www.pcpro.co.uk/blogs/2011/05/23/glossy-vs-matte-screens-why-the-pc-indus trys-out-of-touch/
    Here's my 17"
In my opinion the extra $400 for another 2-3 years of use out of the computer is worth it.
Quad cores are more than enough for most uses for most people for many years, it's just a slow card is going to make the machine feel slow in rendering graphics in the future.

  • Problems installing MSI GeForce GTX660 Twin Frozr OC video card

I recently built my first gaming computer and everything worked...... except installation of the MSI GeForce GTX660 Twin Frozr Gaming OC video card. I have an MSI Z87M Gaming motherboard and an Intel i5 4670K processor. Running Windows 7 Professional and 8 GB Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM. I've tested the card on an older machine with a first generation PCIe slot and it installed and worked fine. When I install it on my computer everything is fine until I turn the computer off and reboot, and then nothing comes up on the screen. Are there some BIOS settings I'm missing or some conflict I don't know about? - Kennard

Add card's S/N and a copy of the current vbios (save it to file, upload it to some filehoster and add link). Also list the bios version the board is at.

  • Mac Pro Locked Up and Now  One Video Card and Audio Not Working

Last night, my Mac Pro totally locked up to the point I had to power it off to get it to do anything. When restarted, one of my video cards and my audio are no longer working. I have dual monitors so tried switching the connections to see if it was the monitor and that was not the problem.
I tried doing a formal shutdown after the restart and this also did not clear up my problem.
Everything was working fine prior to the lockup. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you've added RAM and are using the nVidia 9400m video driver, you may be using incompatible RAM

  • I cannot open any photo in Photoshop CC 2014 after upgrade the application and drivers of video-card.

Since I have made an upgrade of Photoshop CC 2014 I got a lot of problems.
At first, I could not open any pictures in Photoshop. It works only if I disable "Use Graphic processor". I installed a new driver for my video-card, but it did not help. I use AMD FirePro V4800 for 10-bit colour.
I had to return the system to the restore point (before the upgrade), then it worked somehow, but not stable. ACR from time to time had a blue screen with a white cross.
Now I tried to install drivers for my video-card again, but it resulted in the same issue: Photoshop cannot open any photo. (Other converters and editors and also a new Lightroom work well).
I use Win7x64, i7 2600, 16 Gb RAM, two SSD's, AMD FirePro V4800. I have never had any problems before the upgrade. And I do not want to reinstall Photoshop because I would have to reinstall a lot of plug-ins, I have already lost a whole day.

    Glad it's not just me!
Interestingly, when I spoke with Apple, I tried it in a new user account and the problem went away. Apple said to speak to Adobe which I have done and after deleting settings/prefs again the problem remained. Adobe say as it's fine in a new account then it's an Apple issue not Adobe.
I did find a workaround for now though, when using file - open, set it to list view instead of column view - this fixed my problem but sadly I'm used to working in column view so it's not ideal!
I also got the same error message when trying to replace a set of brushes yesterday too. I need to go back to Apple now but just need to schedule some time to sit and troubleshoot!

  • Adobe CS4 OpenGL issues with 10.6.2 and Intel GMA950 video card

I just upgraded to Adobe CS4 and in PS I cannot enable OpenGL. I'm running 10.6.2 on a Macbook with the Intel GMA950 video card.
I was wondering if 10.6.2 does not have the relevant drivers for CS4 to recognize this chipset or that since the video card is integrated (as opposed to a stand alone with the newer Macbooks) that Intel has not update the drivers? It ***** since I cannot use some functions inside PS without OpenGL.

Hello blue20 & welcome to discussions
1.) You can search these forums for the topic of:
    Adobe CS4 GMA950
As an example, if you haven't already, in an effort to parse what's already been discussed.
2.) Have you looked at any of the Adobe forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2356530
3.) How many fonts are you working with?
The general approach at this time is to ask if you've checked for any problematic fonts (all languages) with Apple's Font Book (look in the Applications folder). Find and remove all duplicates also.
Start there to be sure all fonts that are in play come out with a clean bill of health.
Don't hesisate to perform wholesale deletion of old and/or little used fonts - be skeptical of anything that has come from Office 2008, including those related to an Equation Editor installation.
By all means be sure any 3rd party apps AND plug-ins are Snow Leopard compatible.
An additional measure is to clear the existing font caches:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/139383/2009/03/fontcacheclear.html
That said, 10.6.2 release notes have this to say about fonts:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3874
    Fonts fixes provided for:
    • an issue with font spacing
    • an issue in which some Fonts are missing
    • font duplication issues
    • an issue with some PostScript Type 1 fonts not working properly
    Good luck in any case.

  • Z87 XPower Board and multiple Single video cards?

I'm lost and can't find an answer anywhere. I use 3 video cards to connect to 6 monitors but for some reason this mobo won't recognize any of my other cards except for the one in PCI_2 since that's wired to the CPU directly... I need to get the other ones working too how can I do this? I checked the CeaseFire switch and they're all set to "On" so they should be working, but alas they are not. Hopefully someone can help me figure out what I am doing wrong.
BTW, these are standalone cards, not crossfire or sli capable.

Quote from: XFM on 29-June-13, 10:27:36
Not that it make much difference to any of us but just out of curiosity why do you need that many cards and 6 displays?
I'm a multi-tasker. I'll have Adobe Premiere running on my primary display, After effects on a neighboring screen, browser in another, e-mail client in another, dreamweaver in another, and I have the final screen designated so I can fly through the files I need to find for easy drag and drop utilization. It's just the setup I like to use more than anything.
Anyway I got it to work finally in Slots 1, 3, & 7. After my last post I rebooted with no cards, added them into slots 1, 3, 5 and then magically the drivers were installed for them. I didn't do anything different which is why I am still a bit confused, but it is working now.
Anyway, time to troubleshoot my last issue. HDD in SATA slots 1-8 work fine but when I add drives to 9 & 10 my computer won't boot, it'll only show a flashing underscore. Kind of like the old issue where a WD external drive would do that on boot... but, anyway I can start a new thread for that if need be.

  • Satellite L650-1M6 and problem with video card

    Good evening!
I have new Satellite L650-1M6 with no OS. When i made a fresh Windows 7 32bit installation i got several device problems. Most of them i manage to resolve my self (like wlan drivers) but now i need your professional help.
At this moment i had left this Problem Devices (from System information):
Not Available ACPI\TOS6205\4&4A257CF&0 The drivers for this device are not installed.
I think it could be video card (need to be ATI HD5470) but SysInfo say:
Adapter Type Not Available, (Standard display types) compatible
Adapter Description Standard VGA Graphics Adapter
Would appreciate any help on this.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello
As I can see you got notebook without operating system and you try to install and configure your own OS.
In many postings I wrote here I write again and again that most important thing is to install all drives and Toshiba specific stuff following right installation order so here is installation order for your notebook model:
    Win7
    TOSHIBA Assist 3.00.10_O
TOSHIBA Extended Tiles for Windows Mobility Center V1.01
    Synaptics Touch Pad Driver 15.0.8.1

I recommend you to install Win7 again and continue with all other stuff flowing this install order and I hope everything will be OK.

  • H8-1280t and GTX 780 Video Card installation issue.

I hope someone can give me good news with this issue as I am at the end of my rope.
I recently purchased an EVGA GTX 780 SC video card which I am attempting to install into my h8-1280t Elite HP Desktop.
I have switched out the stock Power Supply that originally came with the unit and installed one that can support the necessary power requirements of the card (750W with 61A on 12V rail [Corsair ATX 750).
This is actually the second card that I have tried and they both have the same issue.  The issue is as follows:  When the unit is powered on I can see the POST message which shows my processor, memory amount, and BIOS Revision date and version.  The unit will then proceed to beep once every 10 seconds, there will be a total of 3 beeps and the unit proceeds to a black screen where nothing happens.  I know the card is not bad as it displays the POST message just fine.
I have since contacted EVGA the manufacturer of the card and they have stated that this issue has something to do with UEFI BIOS.  Their card has shipped with the most recently updated UEFI BIOS located in the GTX 780, I was referred to try and ask here if there is an update to my current motherboard to bring it upto date with the latest revision of UEFI.  I have also since tried both BIOS updates on my model page the lastest having a revision date of 9-12-2012.  I would hate to think that my unit is incompatible being that I only bought it last year.  I have noticed that in my BIOS settings there is very limited UEFI boot options. so that gives me some hope.
The following is the information about my unit to the closes detail I have found:
    Motherboard: IPIWB-PB (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03132964)
    BIOS: 7.15 Rev. A (09-12-2012)
    Processor: Intel i7 3820 3.6ghz
    Desktop: h8-1280t (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5155...)
    Power Supply: Corsair ATX 750w
    Memory: Corsair 16gb Vengeance
Hard Drive and CD drive are stock.
I believe the issue lies with an outdated BIOS and hopefully HP is providing BIOS updates.
Once again any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
Have you made sure that your P6 and P8 connectors are connected properly to the video card?
If you have, and your power supply is capable of running this card, then it is possibly not compatible with this motherboard. For the greatest chance of compatibility, since your motherboard has PCIe generation 2 slot you would want to look for a video card that uses PCIe generation 2.0. While 3.0 should be backwards compatible; it is not always the case.
    Thank you.
I worked on behalf of HP
