Msi k7t pro and hdd crash

Hi.
I have a problem and i hope some of you can help me.
I have msi k7t pro and maxtor diamond max plus 8. disk crashed before few days after using it 3 months. Before that i had maxtor 540 series and he crached after 18 months of use.
Two disk had spin up and seek time problems. Whell at least siguardian "sad that".
Could this hdd crash be from nonquality disks or the could be caused from some other part of pc.
And now i have option to chance maxtor with seagate.
What do you thing about seagate disks.

Alright, I have an MSI K7T Pro 2-a (not 266) and I need to see if anyone has had this problem before. The board started giving me this crazy error about the floppy drive so I ordered a new bios for it. Now it will post video fine, but 10 - 15 seconds after post it will just crash. I have tried a number of CPU's (duron 700, duron 1.1, tbird 600, tbird 1.0) and they all do the same thing. My next step is to get an RMA and just send the board in, but I figured Id see if the forum could help before I went through all the trouble.

Msi k7t pro auto re(boot)

hi , ive got a msi k7 t pro and sometimes when i am gaming then my pc shuts down , and while it is booting 4 dleds , then i have to wait sometime before i can boot again , or reset cmos , it is mostely when i play halflife for some time , or after 20 seconds of warcraft 3 ,

You could just disable updates. Change these settings in about:config.
* app.update.auto - set to false
* app.update.enabled - set to false
You can still check for updates with the "Check for Updates" button in the About Firefox window, but it will download the update file anyway if there is an update available. You can also check which is the current release from here:
* http://sjc.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/

MSI K7 Pro and SB Live 5.1

I have a MSI K7 Pro and SB Live 5.1 and i have problems with this new soundcard meaning that my comp resets only from games or exiting to Windows without any errors.Winamp and Media player works perfectly.Before this one I had an Yamaha OPL3 and everything was perfect.I tryed latest drivers with diferent os(Win98SE,WinXP,WinME) and latest BIOS(1.8).I changed it with another one(SB Live) and still i have problems.I removed the rest of my cards and i tryed difirent adresses...still exits or resets.If any of you had this problem and fixed it plz tell me how.10x.

I don't have a Midi device, but I'm wondering if you have your SB Li've! 5. selected as your preferred/default Midi Playback device in Control Panel, Sounds & Multimedia, on the Audio tab? Also, in the Creative Mixer, have you selected Midi Synth as the recording source and, if you want the keyboard to play through to speakers/headphones (rather than recording for later playback), have Midi un-muted as a playback source and the volume slider up high?

Msi 694D pro and newer Graphics Cards

I have a MSI 694D pro MB with 2x P3@1Ghz, 1.5Gb ram (2x512(pc133) + 2x256(pc133), a raid stripe of 2x120Gb WD hdds and a 400W PS running Win2k SP4.
Problem:
I had an Matrox G400 w 32 MB ram and I bought a new GF 6200 card since now even tbs games are 3d and the matrox couldn't keep up.
The GF 6200 is agp 8x but it sais it works well on 4x.
When installed, windows will freeze at startup unless i deactivate "enable agp 4x" from bios, in which case everything works fine except i have NO 3D hardware acceleration... Wich sucks since it makes the gf 6200 a rather expensive 2D Virge lookalike with 128mb ram...
I tested the gf 6200 on a different system and works fine, even on a agp 4x only board (a kt333 msi).
I also put in a radeon 9600 pro borrowed from someone and the results are the same... Win freezes on startup
After some investigations i found out it crashes upon loading "viaagp*.sys"
I tried the latest availeble via drivers and noting...
Does anyone have any ideea what to do about it?

It is a very solid design and quiet, even after years of work.

Premiere Pro and AME crashes hole iMac

today I set up my brandnew iMac 27 with 3.4 ghz i7 and GeForce GTX 680XM. Now i tried to render some importet projects (stored on my drobo) and premiere pro and Media Encoder crashes a few times my hole system. I have to mention, that I did the GPU-Hack for the Cuda acceleration.
But I tried it also without GPU-acceleration and just in this moment my hole Mac crashes again while rendering after 1-2 minutes.

I would venture to guess that adobe would tell you to disable the hack altogether and retest. It could be worth a shot. And I don't mean just shutting of the gpu in prefs, i mean actually disabling the pref.

sure, I do not intend play newest games, anyway I wish to play hitmanII, or III and IGI-2 - some ! The MB I have is retired. Max CPU to the MB is 1.2G Athlon - and I fited out with it (1.2 Athlon). Power suply is powerful 350W of good make; also 448 sdr sdram is going to be. I just do not know if Geforce 4 will be suported by the MB. AGP port is 4x only.
Man, did I well anderstand you? You mean that if I plug in 8x graphic card the system wil be stable? Ex. MSI GForce 4 Titanium 4200 128DDR? And will work fine on the MB?
Anyway I wish to plug in as good as possible (or something about) graphic card... so are there any suggestion ?

Running 6.0.2 with MAC OS 10.6.8 on a Macbook Pro and Firefox crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes. What have you done to your software? It sucks.

Running the new and improved 6.0.2 with Mac OS 10.6.8 on a Macbook Pro and Firefox keeps crashing. When I have Yahoo on my screen with MY FAVORITES on the left side I can't click on ANY of my favorites without a crash. I can hardly navigate anywhere without a crash. Have a MacBook Air running same OS and same Firefox with no problems. So what gives? What is happening and what should I do to fix this?

something similar has been happening to me for a a couple weeks (even before the most recent update, but now is definitely worse) on my 2010 MacBook Air. Firefox freezes upon startup, and then freezes maybe every twenty minutes or so when I'm actively using it, staying frozen for at least a minute or two. it drives me crazy.

K7T Pro and GeForce2 Ultra

I Probably haven't searched enough but I would like to know what you think. I purchased a GeForce2 Ultra 64mg for cheap. With the age of my board I would think it would work. The fan fires up but I have no output from the card. Is it a voltage issue? I remember something about this.

Voltages are right on. I changed first display to agp but my little tnt card is agp and all works fine. Drivers aren't the issue as when I fire it up my monitor stays in standby. The other thing that happens is I get 4 red leds on my board. I thought that was cpu related. I get no trouble beeps. I'm going to take it to a local shop to test today. I'll post results. Thanks

MSI x58 Pro and Quad SLI

OK I am new to this forum first off. So hey! lol. Now maybe this has been discussed.... well im sure it might have been but I thought I would get a direct answer from somebody. I have the Msi x58 Pro mobo and I planning to run QUAD SLI with GTX 295's. Now my BIOS version is the oldest.... I think 7.0 which doesnt support SLI right? and I have read that MSI motherboards now supports SLI. WIll this configuration work and should I update my BIOS to the most current version??

Yes, update with the 8 series bios. That will enable SLI. Please, be sure to use the forum USB Flash Tool for the bios update.

MSI x58 ProE and Corsair 12GB (3x4GB) RAM Issues

Greetings!
New poster here with a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to anywhere. I've looked over the forums but have had no luck figuring it out. My goal is to identify the culprit and replace the appropriate parts.
I built this computer in 2009 with the intention of doing OpenCL/CUDA computing and handle all my multimedia. At the time, 6GB DDR3 RAM (3x2GB) was about all I could afford. The machine works great, but lately, attempting to do some video and image processing has been hitting limits on my available RAM. I also want to run a linux VM or two. I thought I would order the Corsair 3x4GB DDR3 kit from NewEgg and not have any problems upgrading. I didn't have any plans of running the 6 and 12 GB sets simultaneously because I thought there would be some sort of memory density/timing issues.
New RAM desired: Corsair Dominator with DHX Pro Connector and Airflow II Fan - DDR3 Memory Kit (CMP12GX3M3A1600C9)
Old RAM in system: Corsair Dominator with DHX Pro Connector - 6GB Triple Channel (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8)
Request 1: Can I mix the 6 and 12 GB sets (for a total of 18GB) if I keep the density the same across each set of slots? There are 3 black (primary) and 3 blue (secondary). I was thinking of putting the 12GB in black, and 6GB in Blue.
I placed the order, received it, and went to install it yesterday. Took the existing 6GB out and dropped the 12GB in, saw that BIOS recogized it with the right timings, and proceeded to boot Windows up. Blue-screen at the very first Windows logo. I thought "well that stinks, let's check to see if the RAM is defective through MemTest." Downloaded an ISO of 4.2, fired it up, and it hung right away. Hung in the "Address Test, Own Address" test. Big fat A note: BIOS and MemTest both recognized the full capacity of the sticks.
My next thought was "Well, one of them might be bad, let's try to find out which one." I individually put each one in the first slot on the board, ran MemTest, and showed 0 problems on any tests with each of them.
Summary thus far: Individually, each 4GB stick works perfectly. In combination, they fail. The full 3x2GB set works perfectly.
My next theory was that my board might be bad (even though the 3x2GB set in the same slots has no issues). Knowing that the first slot was good with every bit of memory I put in there, I left a 4GB stick in slot 1, and dropped a 4GB stick in slot 2. MemTest hung again. Thinking it might have been that one stick, I put the other one in there, and it hung also. So, slot 2 looks suspect. Move the sticks to 1&3, and they look fine, but that still leaves me missing 4GB of RAM.
I've followed advice and re-seated the CPU, looked for bent pins (none found), and tried manually setting the timings to the 9-9-9-24 that is printed on the sticks. No luck with any of that.
Request 2: So, my question to you is what am I missing? I feel like the board is the problem, due to the slot 2 problem with the 4GB sticks. However, my 2GB sticks don't have any problems at all in the same slots. Could the 4GB sticks require a little more power that my board might not be pushing out (the board is labeled at 1.5V, the sticks are labeled 9-9-9-24, 1.65V)? Would a bent pin be causing this that my eyes just cannot see? I read somewhere that a guy had a pin that was 0.25mm off that was causing his problems.
Or should I be looking at the memory? The 3x2GB set works fine, but the 3x4GB does not.
I'm not sure what my next step should be other than replace the RAM first, motherboard second. The RAM I just got, so I could RMA it if I knew exactly what the problem was. The motherboard is approaching 3 years old and presumably is out of warranty. I wouldn't mind replacing it, but I don't want to spend money right now if I don't have to.
I don't have a second machine to test on, although I'm trying to locate one (most of my friends don't build custom PCs). I have also tried putting the 6GB in the black slots and 12GB in the blue, but the machine doesn't work with that configuration either.
Request 3: Could someone explain how I could aim for 1066MHz on my RAM? I read that on the X58 Pro-E that this resolves most problems with random bluescreens. When I try to do this, I get lost in the numbers/options within the BIOS.
Anything else I might be missing? I'm out of ideas

As you can see, above 1066MHz you need to overclock both the processor and the mainboard.
I think for your config the best shot is 3 x 4GB DDR3-1333 (9-9-9-24 at 1.55-1.60V)

Installed 10.9.2 on Macbook Pro and safari crashes.

I purchased a used Macbook Pro (2010) yesterday. When prompted to upgrade to 10.9.2, I did so. After the upgrade was finished, I could not open Safari without getting an error message screen. When I click on the Safari icon, the colored ball appears and after a few minutes of swirling, I get the error message. I have done a force quit of the application repeatedly and have restarted the computer several times. The computer seemed to be fine for the short time I used it before upgrading to the new OS. I am able to use the program Mail to retrieve emails but have no way of accessing the internet without a browser. I am using a friend's computer to get help. Any suggestions?
