MSI K8TNeo2-F ( MS6702) voltage question

Hello, i use a MSI 6702 with KT800pro chipset & a AMD A64 3200+ venice core.
This core need by default a voltage between 1.4 & 1.45 volt max.
But with the BIOS 9.2 my mainboard run with a voltage at 1.49 by default ( AUTO selection in BIOS & cool &quiet enable or disable ) .
I don't use overclocking.
DDR 3200 1Go 2.3.3.8 Corsair dual channel 128 bits
HT 1000 MHz
ATI X850 Pro AGP ViVO 256 Mo
Can you explain me if this voltage values are dangerous for my Venice processor.
The windond sensor indiquate 19°/21°C max for my CPU ( air cooling ) & 38°/42°C max for system.
Does this values are inversed ?
By default, what is the value for AGP clock :
Sync with CPU or Lock at 66 MHz ?
Sorry for my english & thanks for your answer.

The amd driver is already install ( version 1.2.2.2) & cool & quiet works fine under windows
but what about this value:
Cpu core voltage ( AUTO ) : 1.48 / 1.49 volt in BIOS & in windows if I disable Cool&Quiet.
Normal values must be 1.40 / 1.45. Does it specific of this motherboard or this Bios to put a default voltage higher than normal ?

Just because it says it was tested on intel setups doesn't mean it won't work with amd systems! Which its working fine on my amd setup at auto voltage running 1600Mhz I just wanted to know what the maximum voltage this msi board was ok with?

It may work, but its not guaranteed and there is high change to fail

Can my board support the HT SPEED 2000 if i will flash my bios to a newer version.
    Can anyone help me please!

That is simply a misprint. A64 HT speedss are either 800 or 1000 depending on the chip. The MB has little to do with it.

does the MSI Geforce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X question video card have a sheet of copper on the back side of the video card?

I don't know because I don't have that video card, but on one of the hardware sites I've been to, it says the backplate is simply too light to be copper and they suspect it's copper-coloured aluminum. I am not sure, maybe someone with the card can check it out.

  • Msi 670 pe/oc and afterburner core voltage questions..

So recently I've been attempting to push my card further. From what I'm hearing these cards are locked with voltage. Max are anywhere from 1.175 - 1.215. I don't remember flashing my bios. So I tried pushing my card to 1202 which is the max I can get without adjusting msi voltage. Also I use heaven to test stability. I limit my frames to 63 since that is what I play bf3 at and it's my most demanding game. With 1202 clock even up to 1228 I can complete one run without crashing and stock voltage.
So I said what the hell I'll increase powerlimit to 114% and increase core voltage to +30( I don't even know how much this adds because there isn't a way to monitor... If anyone has an idea I'm all ears). What do you know to my surprise I was able to complete one benchmark run in heaven at 1254 without crashing. I tried 1254 without adjusting voltage and it crashed and I had to restart. Added +30 and it didn't crash. Also aux voltage was +30 maxed and still crashed without adding core voltage. So are these voltages really locked like Nvidia wanted? Or is there a problem with heaven benchmark.
Also my setting are 4xaa( I use 2x in bf3 with low post processing) !680x1050( native) resolution, tessellation is normal, af x 16. I've also heard about flashing with unlocked bios but as of now I don't want to try that.
My current gpu bios is 80.04.31.00.46(P2004-0005). Anyone know the values for this bios or where I can look it up? I'm also on the beta 310.71 drivers since the whql 310.71 drivers for some reason limited my oc.
Thanks for anyone who can help answer these questions.

A locked card will always max out at 1.175v no matter what is set. Using Afterbuner 2.2.4 possibly also later (2.2.5 and 2.3.0 are said to be not locked but I doubt that) will also max out at 1.175v no matter the vbios. Since the 670PE does not allow to monitor voltage with software it is hard to tell if overvoltage past 1.175v works or not. Could be progress is caused due to increasing aux voltage while gpu stays at 1.175v max. An unlocked card would do 1.2125v max.
It would require an unlocked mod bios for the unlocked overvoltage. There is a thread on overclock.net about unlocked GTX6xx vbios versions. There you could get an unlocked bios for GTX670 PE: http://www.overclock.net/t/1289489/gtx-680-670-unlocked-voltage-bios/510#post_17888629
So far nobody in the forum has tested that and using would be at your very own risk (as always when using mod bios).

  • MSI P6N SLI Platinum Voltage regulator cooler size question

I have a question about MSI P6N SLI Platinum's Voltage regulator cooler. Is it the same size of K9N SLI Platinum? The reason I ask is I plan to use water cooling on it. But the only regulator  waterblock I can find is desgined for K9N SLI Platinum from aqua computer http://www.aqua-pcs.co.uk/index.asp?function=DISPLAYPRODUCT&productid=218. So can I use this one on P6N SLI?

I guess not... P6N is much thinner, if your K9N VR cooler is as thin, then it can fit in. But I guess not.

  • MSI GTX 980 GAMING OC QUESTION VOLTAGE

Hi everyone. Is it safe to have the overvoltage to +87mv on this card and when running a game the gpu voltage is 1.26.  My temps don't go over 70 and there is no throttling  Thanks

Frankly I didn't even bother finding out my stable clocks on stock voltage this time around and went directly to +87mV. I have a case with so-so airflow, and yet OC'ed, max load I never see temps above 72C (with 100% fan profile at 65C which is the max temp before Maxwells throttle).

  • Msi kt266a pro2 Voltage Question (tbred mod)

    Hy,
I´ve done the C37 mod to my mobo and flashed the 3.74b BIOS. I installed a 1700 tbred B and runs flawless. What surpise me is that with voltage in Auto, the Vcore show 1.55v ?( , is that ok?? Another thing to know is if there is  anyway to get more than 1.7v in the Vcore options, since 1.7 is the max and it does not give too much room for OC. thanks!

i guess that you say the L11 ones, are they open or closed by default?
EDit:consider that I´ve done the painting to get a 1.75v by default, which option should I use in the BIOS? AUTO?
btw, which voltage are you using on your tbred to get 2000ghz?

  • K9n platinum voltage question

    Hello everyone,
I'm new to the boards and I hope someone can help me out.
Let me throw my specs out first:
    mobo: msi k9n platinum 1.0 (bios 1.5)  (ms-7250-20)
cpu:   opteron 1212  (voltage should be 1.3/1.35)
    ram:   ocz 6400 platinum (5,5,5,15 2t) (2.1v)
    gfx:    evga 7800gt
    ps:     sunbeamtech 550w(+3.3v=28A, +5v=36A,+12v1=20A,+12v2=18A(30A/35*A))
This board does have the shut down problems, but I have done the work arounds and fixed 98% of them(memory timings were the most important to fix these)
My question is how do I set the volage for the cpu? I know go into the cell menu->cpu freq config->and change the voltage...but when I set it to 1.3~1.35, the cpu voltage in the H/W monitor & on the main cell menu page will show a .28 voltage increase. My cpu temps are also through the roof (35 idle/ 68+ load).
Right now I have my cpu voltage set at 1.25 and it seems mostly stable, but the cpu Vcore shows 1.528v in H/W monitor, and cell menu.
Also if I keep my voltage at 1.2 my temps are very low (20 idle/ 38 load)
When I use cpu-z it shows the voltage that I actually set.
Anyone have an answer or fix?
Thanks for any and all replies.

leave CPU vid to Auto, you no need to change CPU vcore. voltage moving -/+ 0.05 is normal.
take care about CPU temp... your CPU is overheating and become instable, 68C+ is very high... re seat CPU ensure its mounted well, aplly new thermal paste, but do not put too much!! here are few wrong examples:
your under load temp should not exceed 55C. you may need to get better CPU cooler if no change.

  • Msi Afterburner Keeps putting voltage back to 1.164

Hi, this is my first post so please tell me if I am doing anything wrong.
I am using MSI afterburner 1.6.1 to overclock my MSI R5830.
I have managed to get the card stable using these settings: Voltage@ 1.220v, Clock
    at 950mhz, memory at 1205.
When I am using any 3d application, like a game, the voltage will randomly go back down to 1.164v causing the computer to crash.
I cannot figure out why this is happening, please help me out on this cuz I'm a noob =(
    Thanks,
    ~Randy
P.S. I've Already searched Google for this, I could not find anybody who is having the same problem.

  • P67-gd65 sata and voltage question

For starters, this board is updated to the newest bios I found in the download section. The sata question is that, no matter if I use IDE or AHCI, I can only see my SDD and HDD if I have them plugged in to the white ports. The normal black ports don't show anything.
The second thing is about voltage. Is there any way to stop my voltage from rising during heavy CPU usage? It's really annoying to set it at 1.33v and then it goes up to 1.37v. I have everything manually set in the bios and the vdroop is on low. Is there anything else i'm missing? Thanks.
Edit: Turbo Boost and EIST are also off as well.

As mentioned, as long as it doesn't fluctuate or exceed past 1.400v's, it should never be a problem as far as component lifespan & longeveity are concerned. It may be best to open a ticket with MSI Tech Support & ask them about why the voltage reacts as it does & is set up that way. http://support.msi.com/
    Quote
My SSD and HDD were in SATA 2 on the old motherboard, now this one will only work on SATA 3.
I would be suspicious of the Intel SATA II Controller being faulty within the chipset. Especially if no type of device, HDD or ODD works in those ports. Another thing to ask Tech Support about.
As a side note, it gets confusing sometimes when seeing the nomenclature SATA 2 & 3, as these are regarded as SATA connection ports on a mainboard.

  • MSI Hawk HD5770 Crossfire voltage/overclocking problems.

Hi everyone. This is my first post ever on a technical forum.
I've been playing around with the MSI Hawk 5770 video cards recently and I have some questions/concerns. I am running the new Catalyst 10.4 drivers without CCC installed and overclocking using MSI Afterburner. I have voltage altering unlocked (I think: Unlock voltage control checked in the properties and changed in the .cfg file) and have been able to overclock the cards to 950/1250 on stock voltages. I run Kombuster to test stability and I'm wondering, does GPU-Z read voltages correctly for these cards? No matter what I set the voltage to, GPU-Z reads 1.000v in the sensor tab.
I've been unable to break 1290MHz memory clock speeds and I'm not sure if it's because the cards I have just can't go higher or if the voltages aren't changing appropriately. When I set the memory clock to 1300 or higher, my system will freeze/hang (not crash mind you) within 5 seconds to 3 minutes of running Kombuster.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

Clarification: When the freezes/hangs happen, there is not a temperature problem. Haven't seen temps above 72C during stress tests and nothing over ~70C before a freeze/hang.
