I got a question regarding the bios setting, I found out on the AMD website that the HT SPEED for my ATHLON 64 3000+ was 2000, i got counfused with the data, my boards highest HT setting is 1000 only, i set it to 1000 HT SPEED, and 200 FSB, so igot 1800 speed, it works fine, no problems encountered yet.
Can my board support the HT SPEED 2000 if i will flash my bios to a newer version.
Can anyone help me please!

That is simply a misprint. A64 HT speedss are either 800 or 1000 depending on the chip. The MB has little to do with it.

Z77A-GD65 + MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053) = FAN speed control issue

I've got Z77A-GD65 board and I am using MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053). I have one fan connected to CPU fan header and another fan connected to System Fan1 header on the motherboard. The problem is that while trying to use Smart fan control in MSI Control Center (under Green Power tab) only CPU fan changes speed according to load and the one connected to System Fan1 always stays at the same "System Fan1 Min" set speed. In BIOS the system fan1 is set to auto as all other options are constant speed from 50% to 100%, both fans have 4 wires, so they can change speed. I want both fans to change speed according to CPU load. I know I can use Y (split) cable to connect both fans to the same CPU fan header but I would like to avoid this if possible.
Anybody experiencing the same thing? Issue with bios? Control center bug?

As long as the amps of the two fans doesn't exceed the limit for the CPU fan header, go ahead and use a splitter. Not positive, but believe the fan header amp limit is 1A?

MSI B75A-G43 runs fans at full speed for 1-2 seconds after powering on the PC

Hello fellow MSI owners,
I have a MSI B75A-G43 board and i was really curious why does the fans run at full speed for 1-2 seconds when the PC gets powered on and then gradually quiet down to normal speed. Other than this, the board works great. I have had only boards from Gigabyte previously and they do not exhibit this behavior, is this a MSI thing ?

Indeed it looks like normal operation on the MSI boards ( may differ on the latest Bios versions maybe). PWM control probably works differently on the Gigabyte ones

Travelling I have very different downoad speed. How to avoid loading mobile version on the slow speed?

I have to work in very different circumstances, sometimes I have very slow download speed. Then downloaded sites suddenly changes their look, as I understand, browser is switching to mobile phone download version. Can I prevent this?

MSI K8TNeo2-F ( MS6702) voltage question

Hello, i use a MSI 6702 with KT800pro chipset & a AMD A64 3200+ venice core.
This core need by default a voltage between 1.4 & 1.45 volt max.
But with the BIOS 9.2 my mainboard run with a voltage at 1.49 by default ( AUTO selection in BIOS & cool &quiet enable or disable ) .
I don't use overclocking.
DDR 3200 1Go 2.3.3.8 Corsair dual channel 128 bits
HT 1000 MHz
ATI X850 Pro AGP ViVO 256 Mo
Can you explain me if this voltage values are dangerous for my Venice processor.
The windond sensor indiquate 19°/21°C max for my CPU ( air cooling ) & 38°/42°C max for system.
Does this values are inversed ?
By default, what is the value for AGP clock :
Sync with CPU or Lock at 66 MHz ?

The amd driver is already install ( version 1.2.2.2) & cool & quiet works fine under windows
but what about this value:
Cpu core voltage ( AUTO ) : 1.48 / 1.49 volt in BIOS & in windows if I disable Cool&Quiet.
Normal values must be 1.40 / 1.45. Does it specific of this motherboard or this Bios to put a default voltage higher than normal ?

When will MSI release their version of 52.16

OK, I've installed the 52.16 WHQL drivers from Nvidia.. however as I've already stated (although the card runs much better!) I get this error message when trying to access the MSI Clock info (LOAD NVGPIO.DLL FAIL) I assume that this is a MSI file from their drivers.......
So when will it come? How long does it take for MSI to release their version usually??

Go into your Windows Directory and delete the file msicpl.dll and your MSI Tab error will go away.

MSI Z87-GD65 System. Slower Download speeds since upgrade.

I've recently upgraded my PC to an MSI Z87-GD65/i5-4670K based system from an Core 2 Quad, Win 7 64x setup.
I use Usenet frequently and since upgrading i seem to have lost around 1000KB/s in download speed when maxing out my line.
Before, i used to get around 9140KB/s max download using the onboard lan port on a Gigabyte P45 based motherboard. Port on old board was a Realtek 8111C Gigabyte chip.
Now i get around 8200KB/s max download using the onboard lan port on my MSI Z87-GD65 motherboard which is the Killer E2205 chip.
I'm using the latest Lan drivers for my chip and have tried older ones but come up with the same result.
Is there an obvious reason behind this speed loss? What i'm wondering is does Windows 8.1 constantly use the network to keep the app tiles updated and if so would it account for 1000KB/s of missing speed. If so, is there a way of stopping it using the network when I'm downloading stuff?
I don't think the speed difference is due to the different chipsets because i get the same speeds using various speed tests that i did before. Also i know its not a massive amount of speed loss (it's equivalent to 8Mbps) but its annoying me.

I have no Wifi card or software installed so i'm just using the onboard ethernet.
Current download speeds shown in Speedtest.net is 74 Down 19 Up, however the Usenet speed i'm getting is around 64 Down (8200KB/s). Difference of 10Mbps. Ive checked settings on the Usenet provider side and they are correct.

Adobe Flash Player Plugin MSI is a version behind

Lately I have been noticing that the MSI pack for the Adobe Flash Player Plugin is a version or 2 behind.

The .exe file is up to date but the MSI is still at 11.5.502.146 when it should be at 11.6.602.168. Does anyone one know what the issue might be?

MSI P45 Platinum version 1.0 or 1.1?

I have this board and on the PCB it says "MS 7512 v1.1" could people please post there version number of board as all the good reviews of this board seem to be with version 1.0 and all the issues seem to occur with version 1.1. I have asked 2 users on this forum 4qman and Jack the newbie what version they have but neither has replied they both sing the praises of this board.

I hear what you say but I have tested using virtually identical components and identical bios and settings and have vastly different results the only difference being board versions. There is an issue here between the 2 versions . I have taken this from 10 instances 6 with v1.1 and 4 with v1.0. I just hope a new bios will fix as v1.0 is not available at retail and why send out review samples that are a different version? Tweaktown reviewed v1.0 and MSi confirmed it was a final retail version which is simply untrue.

relax. The most common issue that couses writers not be able write at full speed is the DMA setting. Make sure that u have DMA enabled. go to your device manager -->IDE/ATAPI controllers and make sure the IDE channel that your drive is connected is DMA enabled. Also make sure that u have connected your drives as "MASTER" in the IDE bus.
also make sure that the disks u are using are validated for 48x speed. Try using other media brand.
There are also other thing u can do
1) make sure the drive is MASTER in the ide bus.
2) change IDE wires
3) update bios
4) update ASPI layer
5) use latest NERO
6) update firmware
7) update ide drivers of your motherboard
8) check your drive at a friend's system to see if the same thing happens

FX8320 with MSI 760GA-P43 (FX) MS-7699 drop speed on high load

I had an FX8320 with watercooling on this MS-7699 motherboard, when with high load the CPU (all 8 cores) drop to 1.4Ghz then come back to the normal frequency within a few seconds, is there anyway to maintain the cpu speed at all time with high load?

No there isn't. The board is not able to cope with the power draw of an FX83xx cpu. Sadly MSI for some time listed FX 8-core cpus supported on all 760G product sites despite these are only able to run 95W TDP cpus at the very maximum. The behavior you are experiencing is a cheap trick to make the cpu seem supported while the only way to keep the board from burning up is to throttle the cpu under load. To run the cpu at full performance you need a new board meant for supporting 125w+ cpus.

Difference between MSI 945PL NEO version 1 and 2

My computer just died, I believe the motherboard is dead. I have a spare MSI 945PL NEO motherboard on hand. I would like to use my CPU from the dead machine with MSI motherboard. The CPU is intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz. I looked on MSI website. The MSI 945PL NEO PCB v2 support Core 2 Duo CPU but not the PCB version 1. What is the difference between PCB version 1 and 2? What I can see is less RAM slot and faster FSB on V2. I want to know if I put my Core 2 Duo CPU into the motherboard, will it boot up? or will it damage the CPU? I do not mind the performance if the system can work together.

We can't tell you which specific changes have been made to PCB 2.2 but in fact there is no Core 2 Duo support for PCB 1.0. As I still don't know if you have 1.0 or 2.2 I can't tell you what happens with your board. None the less it will most likely simply don't work if you try on 1.0 (board does not post). Msi of full version of adobe acrobat; is there one available?

We want to deploy a full version of adobe acrobat over a network and were wondering if there was an msi available for the full version of adobe acrobat? It appears there is one for the reader, version 8 and 9, but I've yet to find anything definitive for a full version of acrobat, be it standard or professional, version 8 or 9; anybody have a link? info? MSI 875P "NEW" Version 2?

Like most users who are using this board, I have the MSI 875P Neo FIS2R and it states on the motherboard that it's v1.0 but when you use Live Monitor, under Utility/MSI Core Center/notes/3, it states:
Support MS-6728 v2.0, MS-6758 v2.0, MS-7008, MS-7021 and MS-6580 v5.0.
Notice it shows "MS-6758 v2.0"...... can MODS shed any light on this?
Has this version 2 been released yet and if so, does it resolve such issues as the HDD LED not working when drives are connected to IDE3 or to any of the S-ATA ports and does it have DOT?
I believe that the HDD LED not working is "hardware issue" which MSI forgot to include and this is a great source of annoyance to many users of this board, including me because I like to see what the drive is doing so I would like to see it working. Maybe many of us should have waited a while until the problems were sorted out before buying the board but I like the 875P and would by v2.0 if and when it's released but how would you know if you were buying another v1.0?
