Msi Kt7 Pro2-a Kt133 highest cpu support???

Yes I was wondering I have The
MSI KT7 Pro2-A mobo
Well my 4 year old duron 750 finally gave out cause it was chipped too much.:(
I was wondering how high of a cpu with my motherboard take??
Another thing about this board. Why is it that I can never update my Bios  past anything after 3.2. I've tried 3.5 with LiveUpdate it updates it but when it time to boot to windows it gave me "No Operating System Found"
Then I just reflash it with 3.2 version so it would work again. I also follow that article on how to flash bios with a Ntfs parition. Still anything after 3.2 will not work with this board.
So does anyone out their have this exact board but was able to flash beyond 3.2 bios version?
Also I notice on the bios page that support for XP chips are only available for the turbo boards which I assume the Msi Kt7 pro2-a isn't.
Yeah I know my board is old an probably won't support newer chips. But I really don't have the cash to get a new mobo but only for a cheap chip.
So If anyone here has this exact board please tell me what chip you are running?
Cause right now it seems like 1.2 duron is what I have to settle for since it's pretty cheap in price but not sure if my mobo will support it.

I poked around the MSI archives, and here is a link to your CPU support - up to 1.2 Duron and 1.4 Tbird (both 100FSB). Good luck.  :]

  • MSI K8N Neo-V nForce3 250 CPU Support

I've been to about a million MSI pages looking for CPU support for this Mobo and can't find a definitive answer. I see where this board supports Semprons but does it support - AMD Sempron 64 3300+ Palermo 800MHz FSB Socket 754
Or does 64 support only lend itself to Athlons.
I think it does but before I buy I need to know fer sure.
    Thanks,

    MakubeX,
I have the Antec True Power 480. Unfortunately it only has 22 or 23 amps (the specs and the label on the psu have different ratings  ) on the +12V rail. Most of the folks here recommend a power supply with at least 24 amps.
The good news is that the system in my sig is working flawlessly so the extra 1 or 2 amps don't seem to make a big difference, at least in my case. I will say, however, that according to Core Center my +12V rail runs around 11.5 volts, which is low and nearly out of ATX sepc. The low voltage will result in higher amperage draw...but again, the system is stable.
    I wish you good luck

  • MSI Media Live cpu support

Hi I don't seem to be able to find the CPU support table for the MSI media Live, all the links I have followed go to 404.
I have tried the motherboard model numbers MS-7329 and MS-6421, bit nowhere is the info available. :(
I am hoping to fit a 4850e, but will I need to flash the bios with another CPU first?

I would still like to know what CPUs it supports.
I have contacted MSI and advised them that a CPU support list is missing for this product.

Plus any recommendations on a replacement Heatsink and fan.
You do not need to replace the cooling system, it is designed specifically for this custom form factor, and provided you use a suitable CPU (hence why I have requested the CPU list be restored) it is perfectly adequate for the task.
One modification you might want to try, which both myself and Bas have already done, is to reverse the fan itself, so it is blowing upwards, rather than downwards onto the heatsink. This is simple enough to do, the top plastic cover just clips off from the heatsink, and the fan can just be removed and placed upside down.
This has the advantage of 'sucking' heat away from the radiator and out the top of the case, rather than 'pushing' the heat inside the rest of the Media Live itself. Obviously, make sure the top cover of the Media Live is well ventilated itself.

  • MSI K7T Pro2-a CPU upgrade

Im using this board currenty with an Athlon 1200 Mhz, but I recieved an 1400 Mhz Athlon for free from someone who changed the whole system (his motherboard crashed).
I was wondering if I could run this cpu on this board.
Is it posible somehow to change the multiplier limit of the board (which is 12.5X), couse the KT133 does not support the 133Mhz front side bus. If I coud change the clock multiplier to 14X it would run normal, right? A bit slower becouse of the FSB set to 100 Mhz but still faster....

if this cpu has a 133 fsb clock, than this mobo is not gonna support it, and running it at 100 fsb wont worth it because it will work slower than the 1.2gb you already have. and changing the multipliers, i think they are locked.
if you find a athlon thunderbird, it is gonna work with it. look here http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_cpu_support_detail.php?UID=99&kind=1
the link below provides the cpu supported by your mobo

  • MSI K7T266 Pro2 cpu fan doesn't start

    Hello!
I have the mainboard MSI K7T266 Pro2, I have just upgraded my bios to version 3.7. When I start my computer, it stops and beeps to warn me that the cpu fan is'nt running, but when I open the computer to see If the cpu fan is running it does start, so why does is say that the fan doesn't star when it acctually does start?

No....!! There is nothing bad mounted.
The reason for this post of you PC, is that the cooler isn't running fast enough for the BIOS, so your BIOS just wantst to warn you. The easiest way to get rid of it, is to disable the "CPU Fan Detection" in the BIOS, or connect the fan to another plug. That's all there is to it!

  • K9N4 SLI - Lack of 125W CPU Support

    Hello,
Just wondering why does this board not support any 125W CPU's?
I was looking at getting one of these boards to throw in a 6000 X2 but according to the website, this board only supports the 89W version, which is unavailable where I am.
I've seen this CPU supported on a Gigabyte board using the nforce 4 SLI Chipset, which the nforce 500 SLI is based off or rebadged from.
    Thank you.

I'm sorry, i really don't care if the board goes up in smoke.  As a matter of fact, this board is one of the worst decisions i have made.  Don't get me wrong, I will always stick with MSI, but this particular model of a board seems to have constant issues with a lot of other people.  particularly with it not posting right out of the box.  i myself had this issue 2 or 3 times with the same model board and according to my findings here, and in many other forums, so do a lot of other people.  so really, who cares if the damn thing goes up in smoke?  it was only $80.00 and in the meantime I have a good setup going on.  you won't hear me complaining about it frying, i'll just buy a different model.

  • MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU - problem with the lite-raid - would like to use it as a normal ide

    Hi!
I tried to install a single drive on the raid-controller and create a single array for it.
For some reason the disk management in Windows XP does not see it, even though
I have updated the related drivers. However, the Disk management showed it the first time after I had installed the HD onto the raid, but as I could not do anything intelligent with Disk management in regard of the HD, I removed the drive from Disk management with that effect that the disk management does not recognize the drive at all, even though I have now re-created the array on the risk, disabled and enabled raid on the Bios.
I read that there exists modified bios for MSI KT3 Ultra ARU BIOS, which will turn the Raid into regular IDE. That would be something that would most probably be the best way to proceed for me. However, do such bioses exist for MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU? Any other suggestions on how to get the disk management to succeed in recornizing the IDE on the raid-controller would be good to hear as well.
    Yours sincerely,
    Tero

Ok, I tried updating with the hacked 3.7 Full Raid Bios. Now I seem to have another problem: even though the hacked bios recognizes my HD, it thinks it's about 130 GB, when it in reality would be 250 GB. The hacked bios seems to work ok with Disk Management in Windows XP too, so it's a shame that the hacked bios doesn't seem to have a support for large disks. On the other hand the link at Lumberjacker was dead for the hacked bios v3.6, I would have tried it, if it would have provided me with a good solution to my problem.
I then went back and installed the official v3.7 bios and the lite raid does now recognize the HD being 250 GB, but the Disk Management just states "Missing" in regard of the HD and does not let me do anything fruitful with it. I looked the HD's properties and the Device Manager just states "Hardware device not connected code 45".
How in earth could I manage to make this work now (I do not want to move my other HD:s as they are full of stuff and don't want to risk losing any content)?
General specs of the computer: IDE 1: 60 GB and 120 GB Matrox, IDE 2: Nec2500 and Sony DVD-Rom, Athlon 1800+ XP, 512 MB memory, Ati 9700 np, Network adapter card. The new HD to be added is a 250 GB WD (have removed the jumper)
    Thank you for any tips,
    Tero

    About CPU support found this:
    http://www.avadirect.com/msi-configurator.asp?PRID=10877
    GX700:
    Support Intel® Penryn FSB800 CPU T8100/T8300/T9300/T9500
    Support Intel® Merom FSB800 CPU T7100/7300/7500/7700
    Thank you
I have tried several memory types and all of them have worked so far.
I think that I found that Avadirect too, and it suggests that T9500 will work with MSI bios.. I am just not sure whether I can trust that source. Maybe I will buy a cheap T9500 from ebay if I happen to find one.
Official information from Intel states that:
PM965 Chipset supports also X7800/X7900/X9000, but I guess that BIOS is the restricting factor in this case.

  • B85M-G43 CPU Support

Hi all I'm thinking to buy mobo B85M-G43 along with celeron g1820.
The problem is that in CPU support list there is no celerons but in spec page I see this
    Supports 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 / Core™ i5 / Core™ i3 / Pentium® / Celeron® processors for LGA 1150 socket
It is intresting because all other mobos with b85 seems to have celeron suppot in official msi cpu list.
If there is some tech guy form msi in this forum could you check this?
And if this mobo doesn't support this cpu what all you could recommend with similar price and features?
