MSI mega pc 180 front panel lcd ajustements

I've had some trouble with my hifi function and the lcd panel at the front of my mega pc 180. I made the mistake with the installing the greetings software. Now the lcd has fallen out and hifi dus no longer work. I was glad that the lcd had dropped out, as the light from this panel was anoying me, while I sleep next to it.
Is it possible to do the firmware upgrade, to get the panel and the hifi to work again, but also make it possible to shut down the panel whenever I would like to?
If not, I'm leaving the wrecked firmware as it is now

That's not an option I'm afraid, if the PC/Hi-Fi/Reset buttons are still needed... and probably the big rotating knob would be out of use, too

  • MSI 180 front panel not working in both modes

    hi,
I bought a msi mega 180 with AMD cpu, works quite nice for a barebone
Now the problem is the front panel doesn't work anymore. It worked before, but now it doesn't work anymore. I think nothing is changed.
I thougt the panel was broken, so I replaced it by a new version at an officiele msi distributor in NL, I placed the new panel. But nothing happened on that panel, on pc and hifi mode.
So I think the barebone is broken, anyone can tell what to try before I can conclude the barebone (motherboard) is broken?
btw, it's connected by 2 connectors, 1 looks like an audo connector the other one looks like a normal connector to me.

    Hi,
I don’t think the front panel or the main board is broken I think its something else we haven’t figured out and MSI not willing to help us... I have Mega 865 and I have been having the same problem for almost 3 weeks now... sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t in both modes everything else will work normal except LCM.
Once it works will work perfectly until I unplug the power from the computer then LCM display will not start.
The problem begins when a hardware is installed the first time to get the problem I had just installed a pinnacle TV tuner when I took it off it came back the second time i installed a DVD rom but when I took it out still didn’t work I removed almost everything checked all cables and changed memory couldn’t get it work then I decided to put back everything TV card, DVD-rom, same memory back and still didn’t. Since it had happened before i was not convinced that it was broken then the second day I put the computer on and it worked on its own.. Now it works when ever it feels for it and take the day whenever.
Let me know if you find anything helpful.

  • MEGA 180 front panel's MIC socket doesn't work

but the MIC socket behind works fine?
so which part could be the problem? the mainboard?or the front MIC socket itself?

does the front headphone socket work? open the mega case and check the connections from the front panel to the mainboard
the front headphone socket works fine

Are you sure that it doesn't work? That line is called "microphone2" and must be activated separately.
what do you mean "activated separately"? is that means that i can't use the front MIC socket when the behind one is plugged?

A pretty common trick used on Biostar SFFs (which are even smaller than the 180) is to add two Zalman 80 x 15 OP1 fans to the side panels.  Left panel toward the front and right panel toward the rear.  This gives a good cross ventilation flow and when you run the fans on the low voltage setting-----it is totally silent---so you haven't added any noise to the overall setup.
Drops CPU temps 4-5 C.  Might work on the 180.  You can see an example of the side panel fans----as well as another possible solution, watercooling, here:----just scroll through all the pics to find the fan solution...SFF Fans and Watercooling

  • Ajustar front panel a tcp 2206

    Buenas tardes;

  • No Cellular network after front panel display replacement.

    Dear all
I recently changed my broken front panel LCD display of iphone 4S. The phone works fine and no operating issues. However my SIM is not detected. I tried following
    1. Reset network settings: It did not help
    2. While phone is ON, I removed the SIM tray but no error message of "No SIM card installed" appeared. So is the hardware damaged?
    3. When I am turing location services ON, i do not see that in status bar too.
    3. In Reset options, following options are in grey: Reset all settings, and Erase all content and settings. --> does that mean I have to update the iOS is the only choice? Right now I am on 6.1.2 and my iphone is JB.
Please kindly advise if you have any solutions.

Sounds like the hardware is FBAR as well as an OS issue

  • Front Panel LEDs problems for Mega 180

Hi, it's rigth one year I got a Mega 180, and I've not ended yet to tune and optimize it
    I admit it's like a hobby now
I immediately ask you for my LEDs problems.
I have read many topics and maybe other people have the same my problem, also if I'm not sure if they treat about the Front Panel LEDs when they speak about the "LCD Display".
I have some switched off LEDs in my front panel, in the "time" displayng and in the volume bar: I have to substituite them? Someone have done it before? It's possible to remove the front panel or I have to disasseble all the pc
    Or it's a firmware problem?
I also thank all people that cured the section of optical devices compatibility: last week I bought a new Pioneer 111D, because my LG GSA-4167B was not suitable in the PC mode, for DVD playback.
In fact I had many problems for the DVD fluently playback: I have spent 4 months trying new video codecs and also substituting the video card, then I finally have understood that was an optical device problem.
The Pioneer 111D was perfect in the PC mode, but then I had problems for HI-FI playing mode
Then I finally used my old Pioneer 108, that I had in the old desktop, and all work (I pray) fine both in HI-FI and PC mode.
I'll be very happy also to describe to whom that will ask me, my experience with the Mega 180 "assembling", during the last year, hoping it could be useful for other people.
    Thanx

Initially, you might just hook your ring to a case structure to
    determine which frame exe
cutes. You can put the terminals for the
Booleans in the different diagrams and about the only other thing to
keep in mind is that you probably want a delay in the loop.

  • MSI MEGA PC 651 - LCD SCREEN PROBLEM

    Hi to anyone reading this!!!
My MEGA PC 651 has now started to show a malfunction on the LCD screen.  Only parts of the LCD is showing and the back light flickers.  I am desperate to fix the machine as everything else works fine apart from the screen!  I've had the machine a while now and really don't want to have to get a new system for the sake of the LCD screen malfunctioning on an otherwise perfectly working system!
Also, I am happy with everything it does and it is perfect for my needs!
I've contacted MSI directly, although understandably, they no longer have parts for this machine - (
Can anyone tell me where I could get a replacement screen/board from or if just the screen can be replaced.  I've had a look and can see the lcd screen fixed to the board and isn't removable - well, it is, but you would have to know what you're doing?!?!?
IF ANYONE CAN HELP, I WILL BE MOST GREATFUL!!!

  • New MSI Mega 180: Some problems...

I've just bought a new MSI Mega 180... and I've come up with some problems:
I can't get the radio to be detected in windows... not sure why. When I load, radio webupdate, it comes up with: Cannot find radio module.
I can't get into the Wireless configuration monitor. If you select Gateway or AP mode, and then hit configure, it comes up with a pw prompt, and I can't find what to put in there... that's driving me nuts...
When I'm running windows, the front panel is compleatly black, should it be showing anything?

The clock should be on or if you installed PC Alert it would show the CPU temp. and stuff like that. I think media centre 3 shows something on the display (I can't get it installed)
    Can't answer your other questions.

  • MSI Mega 180 USB 2.0 Problems?!?

I have the MSI Mega 180, I have enabled USB 1.1+2.0 in the bios and also have installed Windows XP SP1. In device manager, I see 'enhanced PCI to USB host'.
With all that being said my External HD refuses to be recognized as a Hi Speed Device. On another machine, the same external HD works with no problems at 2.0 speeds.
Does anyone have any clues as to what I need to do to get USB 2.0 speeds? I get Hi-speed device plugged into non-hi speed hub?!?!
    any help would be schweet.

I believe the "Enhanced" indicates the USB 2.0 because that's what I have on other boards with USB 2.0 as well.  Prior to XP SP1 and on Windows 2k SP3? my boards didn't have the "Enhanced" addition.  Also, as I don't think I mentioned, prior to playing with the bios I had problems with the USB->Serial adapter.  If I removed the USB-to-serial adapter, the system booted fine and I would replug it.  After playing with the bios, this is no longer a problem and I leave it connected.  The stall happened when I had the adapter in front or rear USB ports, so not a speed issue (hey, it's serial) but more a recognition issue I believe (my mouse is fine, and as mentioned above an external HDD was found fine...).  Try the bios settings I mentioned as well as checking each line of each subcategory and check that all is well.  Let us know if that solves it.

  • Logitech USB30 Headphones and Logitech WebCam Pro 4000 vs MSI Mega 180 Deluxe

    Hi!
I just found some problems related to the radio software/driver on my MSI Mega 180 Deluxe. I have installed all the latest software / drivers from MSI (including the bios) and i am using Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2 installed.
The problem is that when i connect my Logitech USB30 headphones to this computer, and try starting the Radio application from MSI, i get an error mesasage saying there is no audio driver installed. And there is no sound at all. The USB headset is working 100% in all softwares like Windows Media Player and other sound applications (not related to MSI). I sent a support request to MSI, and they told me that this problem was related to my headphones. I did not accept that answere, because it does not make sense.. my headphones works perfect with any other computer and with any other software.
Then i connected my Logitech WebCam Pro 4000 to this computer (incl. the drivers) and the very same thing happened..The radio application told me there is no sound driver availible and the Listen Music application crashed by it self. The control panel now shows that there is no driver installed.. but when disconnecting the WebCam and reboot, the driver is ok again.. and the same thing happens when connecting the WebCam again.
Does anyone else got this problem, and did you solve it? How?

I don't have MSI radio installed, never have.  However, does MSI Radio provide tuner capabilities?  The ability to get radio stations?  If so, then perhaps whatever is providing the tuner capability is maintaining an IRQ that conflicts with the USB Headset and WebCam?
That's just a hypothesis.  Typically, when you have a IRQ conflict, you won't lose the driver in your Device Manager.  However, since everything in the Megas are USB driven, then there's a possibility that you would.

  • MSI MEGA 180 replacement cover

I was wondering if there is a cover availeble for the mega 180 beacause i know that shutles have a acrylic cover availeble,
i would be nice i now have neon in my pc but it is not nice coming out only with the air vents on the side and on the front by the card reader
    greetzz,

    Dear 31ait,
I just read a forum topic of two years ago on
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=78051.msg550349#msg550349 and I have a Mega PC 180 standard.
Funny enough I would like exactly the contrary you did on your machine. I would take the plain faceplate away and install a card reader instaed.
Therefore I would ask you if you still have the card reader and faceplate because I would be intersted in buying them, and swapping with my plain faceplate.
    Thanks for yout reply

    Re: S3 state.
S0 ~ S5 are the various sleep states on a computer. This ranges from no sleep [fullly on=0]  to full sleep [ System off=5]. This is based on the Intel/Microsoft whitepaper describing the various states of ACPI. S=3 is supposed to be equivialant to "Suspend to Ram". So after suspend resume, max fan, until controlled by PC Alert in XP. Hope thats clear?

  • MSI Mega 180 problems

Hello all, i'm quite stuck on something and need some help.
I have recently purchased an MSI Mega 180 deluxe and installed an pioneer a07 dvd writer in there, for some reason it won't let me burn cd's in audio cd format from wav files, which i need for my music studio.
Also i constructed an external case to put an internet pioneer a03 dvd writer and did the same process and believe it or not i was able to burn a audio cd, so not sure what the problem is, could the msi mega 180 dislike my newer model of pioneer, or is the pioneer on it's way out, which i find strange as it's newer and quite new.
I use nero to burn most of my cd's or dvd's which had no problem with when the dvd writer was on another desktop, it seems to get up to 26% and just freezes there, which the buffer level not moving at all.
    Hope someone can help, thanks

Sounds like all of your drivers are not up to date....
Here's what M$ has to say about it (shamelessly copied and pasted from another different website/board post).
    Stop 0x000000D1 or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
The Stop 0xD1 message indicates that the system attempted to access pageable memory using a kernel process IRQL that was too high. Drivers that have used improper addresses typically cause this error.
    Interpreting the Message
This Stop message has four parameters:
    Memory referenced.
    IRQL at time of reference.
Type of access (0x00000000 = read operation, 0x00000001 = write operation).
    Address that referenced memory.
    Resolving the Problem
For additional troubleshooting suggestions that apply to all Stop errors, see "Stop Message Checklist" later in this appendix.
Stop 0xD1 messages can occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If a driver is listed by name, disable, remove, or roll back that driver to confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially important for backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, DVD playback, and CD mastering tools.
For more information about Stop 0xD1 messages, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base link on the Web Resources page at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/reskits/webresources. Search using keywords winnt, 0x000000D1, and 0xD1.
    Update Drivers
Updated and comaptiable drivers are very important when running XP. Check your hardware with the HCL http://www.microsoft.com/hcl  If you hardware is not on the list it does not mean it won't work it just means it hasn't been tested by Microsoft and they won't Guarantee it to be compatible. If it not on the list check the manufacturer's website fo an up to date XP driver, if they don't have one you may be out of luck. This goes for motherboards and the bios too.
