  • PSU MSI Mega PC 651

    Hi,
I have been having for a few years the MSI Mega PC 651, from a few days it works only in way HIFI but in way PC doesn't work anymore.
I have read on this forum that the problem is the PSU, but it seems that cannot be found.
I have contacted both MSI Italy and MSI global, nobody has responded me.
    What must I do?
Do I throw the Mega PC away?

    Quote
This PSU is also climbed on on other barebone as the Scaleo C of Fujitsu-Siemens, part number FSP:350000145.
That is correct, as I recall MSI made this barebones for Fujitsu-Siemens based on the Mega 651.

  • MSI MEGA PC 651 - LCD SCREEN PROBLEM

    Hi to anyone reading this!!!
My MEGA PC 651 has now started to show a malfunction on the LCD screen.  Only parts of the LCD is showing and the back light flickers.  I am desperate to fix the machine as everything else works fine apart from the screen!  I've had the machine a while now and really don't want to have to get a new system for the sake of the LCD screen malfunctioning on an otherwise perfectly working system!
Also, I am happy with everything it does and it is perfect for my needs!
I've contacted MSI directly, although understandably, they no longer have parts for this machine - (
Can anyone tell me where I could get a replacement screen/board from or if just the screen can be replaced.  I've had a look and can see the lcd screen fixed to the board and isn't removable - well, it is, but you would have to know what you're doing?!?!?
IF ANYONE CAN HELP, I WILL BE MOST GREATFUL!!!
    Gary

  • Problems With MSI Mega PC 651

    Hi everyone!
    I have a problem with a barebone MSI Mega 651 rev 1 (MS 6251).
It works as a computer system only and don't work as hi-fi system.
I wrote a message about this problem to mr Kuchinsky (He is a moderator of Russian MSI site) and he told me to read
    this topics - https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=74625.0
As he said to me I had read this topic and as I understood, the problem is in a damaged firmware aka "bluebird"
but I'd found only the way to restore this function on Mega 180 or Mega 865, but I didn't found a link to a firmware for 651 series..
    Can anybody help me?
    Best regards!!!
    P.S.
    Sorry about my english )

    Thanx a lot
    I found bluebird )))

  • MSI BIOS Beeps and Mother Board Issues

    Hi gang,
I am new to this forum. I am a tech at a small town PC store. I have an msi mother board that is throwing an error beep that I have never heard before. The beeps go something like this 1-2 a high pitch beep, then a low pitch beep. The mother board is the MS 6526 Ver. 2. I have tried another video card and the board will still do the same thing. The mother board does not act this way all of the time. Sometimes the machine boots fine and runs perfect. I have noticed that when restarting the machine, the problem occurs there most of the time. the machine will reboot and set there with an amber light on the monitor. I can turn the machine on and off a couple of times and then it will boot and run; this pattern is not consistant. I felt that it could be a bad processor or mother board. Any ideas?
    Thanks

If the beep code is 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps then that's indicating a problem with the display card. Perhaps it could even be an issue with the slot itself. If you try a PCI graphics card instead of AGP do you still get the issue? Have you tried a different power supply too?

  • HELP why wont my msi z97 gaming 9 mother board find my msi N770 graphics card ?

have built a new gaming PC from scratch based around the MSI Z97 gaming 9 motherboard and the MSI NVIDIA GTX 770 graphics card i have installed all the drivers for the mother board and everything seems to be ok i have then used live update to update all the drivers and bios.
i then installed the graphics card and it powers up and the fans start but my pc isn't recognising the fact that is exists helps please

Recheck your WiFi Bluetooth expansion module connection on the board.
Recheck your MB mounting in the case, i.e. errant standoffs. Perhaps test the board outside the case on a non conductive surface to ensure no potential short exists. Then retest with the WiFi plugged in.

  • HELP needed with the MSI Mega PC 651 !!!

    Hi there,
It seemes to me the previous thread concerning the MEGA PC is no longer visited... and besides that, I need help.
I have a problem getting to install a HD in the machine.
I tried a 200 GB HD, which gives me an error when I try to load windows... immediately after the first restart in Windows Setup, I get a "Disk error. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
I tried a smaller HD (120 GB), thinking there might be something to do with the 137 GB Windows limitation... I get the same error.
And then I try a 4.3 GB HD (an old one), and it works perfectly!
I'm at my wits' end... can someone please tell me how to fix this, before I go crazy?

Yes... as long as the boot partition is smaller than 32 GB, the computer is happy.
BTW, Stu, I'm using a Mobile Celeron, and it works perfectly, with zero modifications... Stock speed is 1.8, but I keep the FSB at 133, so it's running at 2.4 GHz now...

  • MSI Mega PC 651 HELP ( ALL YOU TECHIES)

I have this barebone and want to know that what the CN7 is for. It is just by the AGP slot. I need to know what this is for and if it is important and if there is any way to avoid like connecting it because it wont power on the pc if i dont connect it

disconnect the front lcd display from the motherboard, leave the CN7 connector plugged in otherwise you won't hear any sound at all from on board sound
look towards the front of the motherboard, near where the lcd display connects and the hifi module sticks up from the mobo, you'll see a standard front panel connector pin header (HDD LED, PWR SW, RESET SW etc) that is not used. you should be able to connect some sort of power switch to the PWR SW pins and the PC should power on that way. and because the lcd display is not connected, the front buttons won't work
i think that might be your answer

  • Problems with Mega PC 651

    Hi!!
I recently bought a MSI Mega PC 651 and equipped it with
CPU: Intel P IV 2.8 GHZ
RAM: 512 MB Kingston DDR 400
    HD: 120 GB Maxtor 6Y120P0
    DVD-RW: LG DVDRW 4040B
TV-Card: TV@nywhere Master especially for Mega PC
BIOS v1.1, radio firmware v66 (after flash newest available)
    I have several problems:
    1. When I press the eject button on the Mega PC the DVD-RW (LG DVDRW 4040B) ejects, but when I press it again, it won’t close – it immediately ejects.
    2. At the first start after booting in windows the TV-Software (msipvs v2.0.34.198) crashes to desktop without a error code when I press the time shift button. After a second start it works without crashing…
    3. I updatet bios to v1.1 and radio firmware to v66 (the newest ones). When flashing the radio firmware I was prompted to enter a new welcome message with 7 characters. I only was able to enter 3 characters which ended up with a unwanted welcome message. When starting the flash utility a second time I wasn’t prompted to enter a message. Is there a little utility or another possibility to re-enter a welcome message?
    Has anybody similar problems??
    Please help me!!

After flashing the radio receiver's firmware to latest I also stumbled into same problem. Now when I turn it on it says only "W     -" instead of "Welcome".
I'm trying as hard as possible to fix this problem, but Radio WebUpdate won't let me flash the firmware anymore because it has already been flashed to latest.
Now I'm downloading the latest radio receiver program and am hoping that I also get this Greeting program which can be used to change the normal greeting text!
Last version of radio receiver program didn't have Greeting program so if anyone of you guys have it I'd be more then happy to receive it!
You can send it directly to: [email protected]
It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem. Now I think I might even find a solution to the problem.

  • Problem with Mega PC 651

    Hi to all.
First of all I'm sorry for my English. I don't speak it very well cause I'm Italian.
I've purchased a MSI Mega PC 651 and I want to install my P4 2.8Ghz Northwood. The PC start correctly, but the bios post screen show that this processor is a P4 1.86Ghz and the multiplier is set to 14x. If I try to change it to 21x after I'm exiting from bios saving the settings, the multiplier is always 14x! Why!?
Microsoft windows XP SP2 and CPUz shows the correctly 2.8Ghz, but now I'm not sure that I'm using the full performances of 2.8Ghz or not...
Another question. I've downloaded the MSI Media Center Deluxe III but during the install it request a serial number. Where I can find/request it?
Thanks for all and sorry again for my English.
    Angelo

  • How to remove cpu/heatsink from Mega PC 651?

I'm looking for detailed instructions on how to remove the cpu/heatsink from a MSI Mega PC 651. So far the manual has been useless and the Quick install guide isn't even about the MEGA PC series. Can anyone supply detailed step-by-step instructions on how to remove the cpu/heatsink safely?
    Lewis

    Hi Lewis,
I presume you are refering to this guide?
    http://www.msi.com.tw/html/support/manual/note/quick_installation.pdf
I don't think there are any better instructions, other than what you might get with the CPU. Here's some breif comments that may or may not help though:
Get an anti static strap and attach it to earth, (ie I leave my main PC plugged in and attach to it's chassis, when working on another PC)
Your CPU may be attached to the heatsink with thermal paste, if it is be very careful
On my 865 the CPU heatsink is screwed to the motherboard, it may also be held on with levers. Disconnect it as appropriate
Once the heatsink is loose gently remove it, you may need to lift one side first or it may lift the whole CPU out
Once the heatsink is out lift the CPU lever, the CPU will easily lift out
you may wish to remove the old thermal paste from the CPU and heatsink, I use ArctiClean 1+2 check your CPU supplier for options
put the CPU straight into an antistatic bag
Only when you are finished playing with your PC insides should you take off the antistatic strap
If you are still unhappy with these instructions try checking out the Intel or AMD website for help
    Hope this helps
    cheers
