MSI Mega Stick 1 problem with Nforce 2? Look here
I love this stick, so I didn't give up to find a solution. With SP 1&2 it freezed when there is data communication. Now it's gone how?:

Actually i am having this problem also. Msi mega 256mb mega stick is not compatible with abit mobo NF7-s as i had tried to use it with other computers which is using nf7-s mobo also. But it comes to normal when i plug it into my my housemate computer which is not using nf7-s mobo. I am wondering of how to solve this problem for long long time already. Can anyone tell me how to solve it? Even i had updated the firmware to the newest but the problems still occur.

MSI mega stick 128 Shut down problem
I have a problem , I have a MSI mega stick 128 and fron a litle time it has started tu Shut down or restart rondomley. At first it hapend from time to time but now it hapends 20 times a day . It is realy enoig. If yu have an ideea PLS tel me what to do . (I changed the firmware from the original to new versions but it didn't help .) Is there any hope left ?? I am desperate . I just bougth the mega stick and it's something weard with it: some of the names on the songs are not like they should be ,they don't show the first and the last letter on the display.
And another problem is the sound on the mp3 mode , its kinda laggy.
I read about the firmware thing, but it doesn't seem so secure.
So what is the mega stick's problem?

But the thing i liked about the ones MSI gave me is the feature where you can clip your headphones to the mp3 player. Do you think that any other earphones have this feature as well?

I've just bought a Mega Stick 511 and right now it's making me want to do this . I'm running Windows Xp (although the manual seems to be for 98se users) and everytime I go to the device manager to look for the driver Player Recovery Device Class, it's not there although this- MSI MS-5511 USB Device- is listed under disk drives. I've downloaded the updated firmware and drivers from the MSI website and I'm following each step but this just keeps throwing me for a loop. I don't think it's a connection problem because the LCD screen on the player shows that it's connected. So if anyone out there has any clue how to fix this and then proceed to tell me how to actually load MP3 files onto it (because even that I'm sure I will stuff up), please please help me.

It's the one called "MEGA STICK 511 Firmware" not "MEGA STICK 511 USB2.0 without FM Firmware" (what a horrible website!) and it's version 002.001.009.
Still the annoying 'This device can perform faster' message - but it's connected as USB2.0 full-speed and not USB1.0 slow-speed, meaning you can fill up the 1GB in about 20 minutes, as opposed to several hours.
I compared Alick's results using HD Tach (http://www.simplisoftware.com/Public/index.php?request=HdTach), and got the following results:
1. A USB1.1 device will read at around 0.8 MByte/s
2. My MS5511 device will read at around 0.9 MByte/s (USB2.0 full-speed's theoretical max is around 1.5MByte/s)
3. A USB2.0 high-speed memory-stick will read at around 9.0 MByte/s (USB2.0 high-speed's theoretical max is around 60 MByte/s
4. My (slow) hard disk will read at around 30 Mbyte/s
5. A really good hard disk on a fast PC will read at around 130 MByte/s
The real problem I have is that MSI are marketing their USB2.0 device as if it's a decent speed, whereas it's only slightly faster than USB1.1. It takes me 23 minutes to fill it up, which is way too long.
Anyone else finding their Megastick any faster?
After upgrading my firmware to 3.000.006 I have got the same problem I get the 'This device can perform faster' message' but this was not the case before the firmware upgrade when I had 2.0. Also with the old firmware I did almost filled my stick and I didn't timed it but I think it could take about 10 minutes.
I have the MSI MEGA Stick 511 - Lite, 256M and it has no FM radio. Should I then not use the firmware listed as wothout FM? -

i tried formatting it using the ulitlity software which came along, but it doesn't help.Hi, I have the same problem, I am using the MSI Mega Stick 256 4 months, everything worked fine so far. Suddenly the backlight died, and it cannot be re-enabled. Could it be just a software problem (Is there a firmware upgrade available?) or should I return the product and require replacement?

MSI Mega Stick 511 Lite (without FM) 128MB won't skip songs
I just bought a MSI Mega Stick 511 Lite (without FM) 128MB. I am unable to skip to the next song when playing. I can fast forward the song but it won't let me skip to the next song. Does anyone have a similar experience or know the solution ?
I think it might be that i held the menu button too long. A quick flick to the left or right (letting go quickly) seems to make it work. P.S. The firmware upgrade to version 3 is good coz there is now a playlist option.

So what version of BIOS are u running? I recently installed the two newest versions 2.0 and 2.1, and they both give me problems. With the latest (2.1) I'm getting the same error as you. Returning back to previous BIOS fixed my problems. Oh yeah, my RAM is Kingston Hyper-X, so i don't think thats your problem.

The mic on my iPhone4 has just quit also. Similar symptoms to yours in that people I'm talking to hear only static or my voice very faintly. The voice/memo recorder also only really records static.
It happened suddenly and seemed to get better after a day or two but then went completely after another day.
I'm returning it to Vodafone New Zealand shortly but will have to wait 5-10 days for a replacement. There are NO Apple accredited means to speed this procedure up in NZ.
We don't even have a single physical Apple Store where you could walk in and talk to a Genius. -
