  • (MSI MPOWER Z87) System Won't Start

Hi, a month ago I built for myself a new PC with MSI MPOWER Z87 motherboard.
For a month it worked fine, but couple of days ago, when I tried to launch it nothing would work, OS doesn't start, fans not working including processor fan. All I see is power button button(on motherboard) lit, OC Switch Led lights (one red and one blue) and Clear CMOS (blue) blinking. Debug led doesn't work either. Can anyone help me to solve this problem, what problem do I have and what can I do to fix it?

HuntKey Green Power 550W     Sounds cheap and unreliable. Haswell also requires slightly different PSU than older systems did, so if possible test something like Corsair, Seasonic, Antec (and similar with GOOD quality and reputation). You could also go to local PC shop/IT services and ask for testing your system with their quality PSU.

  • MSI MPOWER z87 BSOD on boot in RAID mode

Hello, I've just recently added a harddrive and was attempting to set up a raid and encountered this issue. I have 2 ssds - one is the boot drive, second for games, and I have 3 1tb hdd drives which I was attempting to put in a raid5. I installed the third drive today, went in to the BIOS, switched SATA mode to RAID and got an immediate BSOD before even booting to Windows. Previously, I've had the two ssd in a RAID-0 and never had this issue. The ssd are no longer in a RAID, I was hoping to only have the 3 hdd in the raid5. I'm now having to reinstall windows because the error corrupted a system file somewhere and I'm unable to repair it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    My system is:
    Windows 7-64bit
    MSI MPOWER z87
    Intel i7-4770k
    8gb corsair vengeance RAM
    2 120gb OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
    3 1tb WD10ezex HDD
    MSI GTX760 GPU
    Rosewill Capstone 750W PSU

You cannot just change SATA modes.

  • Msi MPOWER Z87 max AC OC to 4.2 or 4.3 guide?

good day. I just bought a msi mpower max AC with a processor i 4670k, I would take it to a 4.2 or 4.3 screen guide or someone who is like my settings to guide me?. Thank you.

Come on Froggy Gremlin, don't tell me you don't love your Mpower? :D
Well its overkill for the average joe and pc enthusiasts, but its a fresh break from all the red and black themes. :D  I know its not really a rational reasoning since the Gaming Series are great, but isn't she a beauty?
Sorry for the photos, was taken using a mobile phone.

hi peoples i'm a new here as new user of MSI motherboard, this is my first MSI motherboard, and i allready have a problem with it.
as the manual suggest, for a single gpu configuration i should use pci_e2 (page 1-19)
i've tried GTX 260 216sp no go , black screen no system post ,and pressed reset button like 10 time, didn't work, it worked once and never again, and gpu-z shows [PCI-E 16X2.0 @ X4.0]
i've tried AMD 3850x2 no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9600GT no go , black screen no system post
i've tried 9500GT no go, black screen no system post
i've tried 9800GTX no go black screen no system post
then each of this vga shifted on pci_e5 and worked at the first system startup
    is the mainboard faulty?!
    PC SPECH :
    i7 3770K @ stock speed
Mainboard : z77 mpower latest bios installed
Storage : SSD Crucial 64 Gb

    Ram: corsair platinum 2400c9 2x4gb
    Windows Xp 32bit
    Windows 7 x64 [7601]
i may think this board is faulty isn't it?
the previous mainboard was an Asus Gene Z77 wich didn't give me any kind of problem, cpu ram and psu were the same and worked perfectly.
is there a way to fix this or i should send it back!?
    thanks for the help.

Remove the board and make sure there are no extra stand off or screws shorting the case.

Presume in GPU-Z it was reading 2.0 @ 8X? I think the suggestions are correct. This is a classic behavior of bent or damaged CPU socket pin(s). Could be a faulty PCI-E slot, errant standoff underneath the mainboard, or even a more rare faulty CPU. Uneven mounting or torque pressure of the CPU cooler could also cause this behavior.
what does it mean? should i still have to wait like one month or much more to get a new board since it arrived faulty?

  • MSI KT4Ultra FIS2R Lan problem

I got an MSI KT4Ultra FIS2R, with an optional GB Ethernet (Broadcom 5xxx).
When I enter the integrated peripherals menu in the BIOS, the LAN device is not shown, and when Windows starts, the LAN device is not shown in the Device manager window.
It is worked fine ~3 weeks before, and it simply stops, and hides...
Why? I bought a GB Lan card, and it is works fine, but it takes a lot of money, and the onboard lan must works, doesn't it?
I flashed the BIOS, with older/newer one, but it doesn't solve my problem.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
Something that should be done after every BIOS flash.

what can be done? the Network is, Realtek 8110c/8110s Dual Layout

What does the device manager say.
What do you mean by not working. Is it installed, is there a conflict, can u ping urself (127.0.0.1).
While ur at it: check the version of the drivers.
Allthough they all should be OK.
You can find the proper drivers here btw:

  • Big problem with Mpower z87 + I5 4670K

    Hi
My English is not perfect so i'll be quick :
    Hardware :
    MSI Mpower Z87
    Core i5 4670K
    2x4GO DDR3 2400 1.65V
    EVGA 750W GOLD
    Water cooling
    Ati 7950
    SSD Samsung 120GO
So i'm trying to overclock my 4670K but when my frequency is at 4.2MHZ i am obliged to fix my voltage at 1.320V.
If my voltage is under 1.320V and my frenquency is  4.2MHZ i have a boot loop or a BSOD with code : STOP 0x00000124.
Why me i need to fix my voltage over 1.320 V ???? it is to HIGH for juste 4.2 MHZ......
    Please help me.
    Thx

Doesn't work. I have flash the bios and try to O/C but same problème : boot loop on windows.
Yeah, 42X on the core worked but with a high voltage (1.300 V). On the internet i have see many tests where users run on 45X with a low voltage (1.140 V) Why i need a high voltage ???? and why when i change the voltage to 1.300 + i have a black screen ?? i am desesperate, first time on MSi fore me.....
Leave the CPU V. on Auto. Use the voltage offsets if needed above what gets set by default. Simply the luck-of-the-draw with Intel CPU's. Mine will do 47X on only 1.18v's, but it cooks itself to death. So the alternative? I set mine to 43X as at 45X, the performance was identical at 43X with less heat and voltage being required. If the board works perfect at auto/stock/default, then it isn't the board.

  • Debug code 70 , mpower z87

    Hi,
yesterday a friend of mine bought the mpower z87 mobo and
    everything was fine until today.
The debug leds show the code 70 and the video output doesn't come out.
I'm really desperate and sad for him, I dont know what to do.
    The configuration is:
    msi mpower z87
    i5 4670k
    corsair cx750
    samsung evo 840
    msi gtx 770 lightning

thanks for the reply.. but I knew that the 70 code means Late South Bridge Inizialization
but I didn't know what does it mean .
Anyway we tried with only 1 RAM plugged and the debug code sometimes is A2 (Ide detected) sometimes A0 or A3.
With 2 RAMs the code is 99 (Super IO Inizialization).
We also tried to unplug the video card and the hdd and do the CMOS, with no results    .
    little update:
the computer now turns on but after 3 mins turns itself off...

  • MPower Z87 Power connectors

Recently put together a new PC build using a MSI MPower z87, but my power supply (BFG 1250watt - modular) only had one lead for the 8pin power connection for the board.  I tried to use a different connector that the power supply had plenty of, a 6pin + 2 pin that was the same size and shape with the +2 connected, but when I attempted to power on, the thinner wire to the +2 portion melted.  Did this hurt the board? and Is it safe to run the board with only one of the two 8 pin power connectors connected?  (JPWR1 and JPWR2) I do have the larger JPWR3 connected (the one above the SATA connectors).
I'm guessing I'll need to get a new power supply, the BFG one I have is a bit old, from a 2009 build, which may be why it only has one ATX 8pin connector.  Can anyone recommend a power supply that defiantly has 2 (or more) 8 pin ATX power connectors?
    Thanks

that may have fried the board as a 8 pin CPU power connector has different pins (a live and a ground on the side) but a 8 pin PCI-E power connector has 2 grounds there so you may have blown something on the board or damaged the PSU itself if your unlucky!
try with just one 8pin CPU power connector and and hope to hell you haven't blown something and you lucked out there and haven't damage something (It only needs one unless your using LN2 cooling and doing massive overclocks and huge over voltage's to push the CPU way above its design limits)!
also if you have damaged something and its broke your in a bad position here as you will have voided the warranty as its classed as user error because you made the mistake of convecting that!

  • Z87 Mpower Max Wifi Problem

    Hey!
So I recently built this new PC:
CPU: I7 4770k || GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 770 Gaming 4GB || Mobo: MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX || RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 2x 8GB || SSD: Samsung 840 PRO Series 256GB || Chassi: Cooler Master HAF XM Midi Tower || CPU-cooler: Noctua NH-D14 || PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720W || OS: Windows 7 Ultimate || HDD: WD Desktop Green 2 TB | SAMSUNG SpinPoint 160 GB | HITACHI 250 GB
I'm happy with everything except the Wifi connection... I've been googling and searching on forums without any help so now I'm hoping someone know how to fix this problem...
I got a low connection to the router and it's terribly slow (the router is a WNR2000v2 but I've never had problems with it earlier and I get the same result with other routers). Basically, I get about 20Mbit/s with cable and the wifi from my laptop (HP ProBook 6560b with "Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n ") and the laptop can stand right next to my desktop PC and get 5/5 in connection vs MSI Mpower Max Wifi (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230) which only get 3/5 in the same distance. I've tried all kinds of placements for the antennas without and improvement. BUT, my problem is that instead of getting 20Mbit/s I only get up to 5Mbit/s. Now... I run the latest drivers from MSI's Mpower Max webpage and I run the latest BIOS (Version E7815IMS V1.3), but I cannot find a solution.
    Thanks in advance...
    Sincerely,
    Dexter
    (Excuse my poor English)

I think you should go through some Windows settings. Also try to configure router (this might be the problem).

  • MPower Z87 - long board start up

    Hello,
I purchased MPower Z87 board and after yesterdays assembly I stumbled upon strange board behaviour.
    Spec:
    CPU - i7 4770
    RAM - 2x4GB G.Skill
    HDD's - 1x WD EARS 2TB SATA2 - 1x WD EARX 2TB SATA3
    SSD'a - 1x OCZ Vertex 90GB SATA2 - 1x Samsun 250GB SATA3 - 1x Toshiba 128GB mSATA
    PSU - Seasonic 620W
    Problem:
    AFAIKT - Debug codes:
    9C  - SCSI detect
    A2 - ATA detect
Long board start up. When I power up PC then I can see debug codes:
    9C - 20sec -> 2min
    A2 - 2sec -> 5min
So in worst case scenerio board boot up up to 5minutes !!!
    NO HDD/SSD - 9C - 20sec -> A2 - 3sec = 23sec to BIOS !!!
This is on 130 BIOS, same on older one that's why I upgraded from 100.
Any idea what can cause this?
    Any adivce more then welcome.
    PS> Some complains:
I must say that I'm not a fan of MSI at all. I did purchase this board only because sound was better then the one in ASUS ones. My bad and now I regret it because this on my speakers won't be noticed anyways.
6xSATA slot - congratulation on adding to the Mobo L shaped connecters and not streight ones, now I can't connect upper ones when lower ones are used !!!

Well ... I don't know what debug code mean because well.. no entry in manual on this one... so. But that's not important.
Tests, now I see only A2 debug codes (9C is either super fast or not present at all) and time is related to that code:
    Legacy+UEFI
SATA3 - boot very fast (SSD Samsung 840 - clean - factory state)
    SATA3 - WD EARX (HDD - clean - factory state) - slow (around 5-10sec)
    SATA3 + SATA3 - (SSD + HDD - factory state) - very slow
    UEFI:
SATA3 connected - boot very fast (SSD Samsung 840 - clean - factory state)
SATA3 connected - WD EARX (HDD - clean - factory state) - very fast
SATA2 connected - WD EARS (HDD - partition data) - very slow
    Ok.
That's deal breaker for me, as I won't juggle drives when new ones will be purchase later just to get acceptable boot speed.
In old days (Pentium 1 to 3 times) MSI product were portrayed by me as cheapest one and cr@9ies ones, now only first one changed as it's still cr@9 but cost now much more.
Going to the shop for ASUS one <- that's probably faster solution.
    UPDATE:
Sometime when I press power off after some time (5-10sec) PC turns ON automatically, maybe I did turn on some "auto wake" feature - although I have all this disabled.
A2 - on drives still with long wait.

  • MPower Z87 stuck at A2 when Fanatec wheel connected

    Hello,
I've been experiencing a strange issue with your MPower Z87 motherboard, BIOS already updated to the latest version available. Long story short, I have a Fanatec steering wheel
    eu.fanatec.com/RacingWheels/ClubSportWheelBaseEU
and everytime I turn on my PC with my steering wheel already on, the motherboard shows the usual codes on my monitor, then get stuck at A2 status without even reaching the MPower yellow and black image. As soon as I unplug my wheel's USB cable, PC runs fine and reaches Windows without a problem.
    My configuration is:
    Intel Core i7-4770K
    16 GB DDR3 RipjawsX 1600 Mhz
    Samsung 840 256GB
    MSI GTX 780 Lighting
    Enermax Revolution 650W
Do you think that this procedure might help? What's strange is that this happens with an Asus Z87 motherboard too, while everything works fine on my notebook, which mounts a Sandy Bridge CPU instead of a Haswell one.
Let me know if you have any suggestions or if you need further informations.

When you update the bios use the method here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=172772.msg1257570#msg1257570
The latest MP bios can be found here:

I'll be posting the latest beta's this week after I am done being at the hospital so much.

  • MSI Nightblade z87 question

Would the MSI GTX 670 OC Edition fit inside the MSI Nightblade z87?
Also, the Z87 nightblade comes with a 600w PSU, right?
and, does the Nightblade z87 012-BUS come with the special CPU cooler?
    Thanks.

    Hi
According to the spec available >>HERE<<:
    1. Card is of dimensions: 242x111x38 mm  and this desktop: Quote
VGA Support Dual slot, max 290mm lengt graphics
    So should fit no problem.
    2. Quote
    Delicate and Powerful ID
    290 mm ATX Graphics Capability
    600W 80+ Gold Power Supply
High Efficient Exclusive OC CPU cooler
    Supports DDR3-3000(OC) Memory
    Super Raid Armed
    Easy Assemble
    OC Genie Ready
Great Thermal Design with System Fan

Audio Boost: Reward Your Ears with True Quality
Killer Ethernet - Kill Your Lag
Military Class 4 - Top Quality & Stability
PCI Express Gen 3 - World's 1st PCI Express Gen 3 Motherboard Brand
So it should come with 600W PSU, yes.
3 and most important: above may not be applicable, as it's mostly dependant on the seller/retailer itself. Ask them if it comes with special CPU cooler, and if it's indeed 600W PSU fitted inside, as it shows as this on the website, but also about this:

All my benchmarks so far are showing RAM speed above 1600 adds little performance value.
