That is useless and not a real vbios version. Provide the actual vbios saved to file or the Nvflash version information text file (Syntax: nvflash /v >rep.txt [ENTER] ).

  • N770 TF 2GD5/OC Bios Update

So I was being cavalier and decided to upgrade to 8.1, of course I get the secure boot watermark like many others.
I have the MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming mobo and went into the BIOS to enable secure boot, saved, rebooted and I get an error saying that my video card BIOS is not compatible and that Windows 8 features will be turned off.
On the MSI videocard product page there is a BIOS update from 7/13, my question is, is this the right BIOS to flash or is there a better one to use? Will this even get me around getting the stupid watermark removed.
It really ticks me off that Microsoft is trying to force the end user to enable secure boot. Doesn't it decrease the longevity of SSD drives?

  • MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC not working system cannot find it to install the drivers

have just built a new gaming rig and used the MSI Z97 gaming 9 and the MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC i set up the pc turned it on without the graphics installed and installed all the mother board drivers and then updated them all using live update 6.
then when i added the graphics card and powered it back on the fans spin on it but when i got to install the drivers it says failed to find the hardware so the computer doesn't know its there
have reset pc and changes slots but nothing seems to work every now and then it will load up and i use it for 5 mins then the screen loses its data and the mouse and keyboard lock up till i go back to using the on board HDMI port
has any body encountered this if so how do i fix it

What was updated with Live Update?
Did you try clearing CMOS? >>Clear CMOS Guide<<
What is the actual Power supply? As EVGA 750B is not enough info, though I guess it's powerful enough to power gtx770.
    Tried with single RAM stick?
Also try with motherboard outside of the case.

  • MSI 4G 970 GTX OC Edition - Bios Update Request

Good morning. Since NVidia isnt doing much to rectify their issues I thought I would seek out some help on the MSI Gaming pages to see if I could update the bios to my card and it may relieve some of the GPU card usage issues. So rather then tag on someone elses thread I am asking for assistance to ensure I use the right BIOS updates and instructions so I do not damage my card. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
My symptoms from my card are pretty standard like the rest of the 970 GTX series owners. Some freezing or screen stutter occasionally, and low usage of the components.
In addition one of my older games is unable to use the 4G of VRAM properly and the screen locks up and the game crashes. That game is about 12 years old now so I am not to concerned if this issue isnt resolved.
    My info:
    Card Serial #: 602-V316-10SB1411120807
Model: MSI 970 GTX OC Edition
    FX 8350 w/H60 Liquid Cooler
ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z Mobo
    32 GB G. Skill RipJaw @ 1866
    Thermaltake 750W Modular PSU
    MSI 970 GTX OC Ed.

What does .193 do for  me? Does that address the VRAM issues or the Low GPU usage issues present in the 970 chipset?
I just pulled the 970 from my rig for now. When NVIDIA makes some statements and then MSI on what if anything can be done I might put it back in. At this time though I feel like I need to just wait it out. The card causes me problems with a 12 year old game when i dont cap the memory usage. That shouldnt be happening, when on my 7870 which only has 2 GB of memory has none of the same issues on the exact same game.

    Thank you in advance,

    Thank you!
The included FLASH.CMD did not function for some reason (quickly flashes the cmd window and closes it), but after running nvflash with the same option as in the file in elevated CMD everything went smoothly, GPU-Z reported new flash file, and most importantly, UEFI now does the proper fast boot.

  • Request: GOP/UEFI VBIOS for MSI N770 TF 2GD5/OC

    Hello Mods!
I'm looking for an UEFI/GOP VBIOS for my new GTX770 Twin Frozr Gaming (2GB)
My current VBIOS Version: 80.04.C3.00.1F (P2005-0000)
    My S/N: 602-V282-28SB1307072937
Short question: Is it sufficiant to flash the new UEFI Bios with the "nvflash <filename>" Syntax or is the Syntax "nvflash --updateuefi <filename>" correct? I stumbled over that command in the command overview and i'm not sure if it should be used.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks flobelix for your answer.
If I start the BIOS update it is correct that it is going from x.x.x.1F t x.x.x.1E..
    See dosbox output:

    Update display adapter firmware?
Press 'y' to confirm (any other key to abort):
I just want to be sure it is going how it should be... Things like this makes me nervous...
