MSI nVidea G4Ti4200

I've just got a lovely new graphics card, but can't get the drivers installed ;( . Can anyone help???
I have tried the auto install disc that comes with it. I have tried the XP hardware updater. I have been into the hardware disply adapter & tried updating the drivers. I have downloaded the latest 41.09 nVidea drivers & tried those.
It goes through the setup & then says "Cannot Install this Hardware. An error occured & thre data is invalid"
I have disabled my antivirus just in case there is a conflict, but nothing seems to work. It is driving me mad - any suggestions???
Cheers

Cheers Richard - I did just that yesterday.
It turns out that removing Leadtek Winfast cards is not easy. I've done all the Unintalling of the Winfast programs/drivers I could using windows, but it still wouldn't install my new card.
In the end I managed to totally disable the new graphics card causing the screen to go dead. It wouldn't even enable vga mode in the safe start menu. I could hear windows booting (music etc), but couldn't see anything.
My only option at that stage was to boot from a win98 boot disk, install win98, then put XP over the top. My copy of XP wont install from dos. However, my graphics card now works & gives a 3dmark2001se result of 10300.
The problem I have now is deleting & reinstalling all my programs. Because they weren't installed under the current version of windows - they don't run.
Is there a way of copying the registry before I mess about with the system so if I have to reinstall windows again, I don't have to reinstall everything?
Cheers

I decided for xmas to upgrade my graphics card to a shiny new MSI 128mb

    work.
On the very first booting screen (where it details the amount of graphics

    looping.
Can anyone help me to get this card to work?  The computer is fine if I reinstall my old card
    Cheers

    Graeme,
Just because your power supply says it is a 300W power supply, it does not mean it give out that much power.  Since you are running a PIII you do not need as much power out of your power supply as you would with a PIV/Athlon, but you still need the 3.3v RAIL to put out enough amps to run a GeForce4 Ti.
So please give us your power supply specs, especially how many Amps the 3.3v and 5v RAILS put out and the max combined 3.3v and 5v Wattage (That is the number Noby was saying should be close to 200W)
Here is an example of what we are talking about:
Check out this POS Kingwin. It lists 4 different power supplies on its sticker from a 250W to a 400W. You can see how this brand does not deliver the power in any of its versions.
Now when you take this Antec Power Supply, check out its output.
You can see not all power supplies are the same. If you have a no name generic power supply in your computer, you might not be generating the juice that your GF4Ti4200 needs.
    Hope this helps,
    Richard

  • I have a Question i have a MSI H55M-P33 Intel Mainboard(Gaming Desktop)

im new to the Forums everybody so pleaser bear with me anyways as the subject line says i have a MSI H55M-P33 Intel Mainboard and i would like to know what MSI Nvida Cards i can run on my Borad also i love intel but my borad can only use i3 and i5 core processor(i7 not allowed)or can't be used on my Mo Borad :( The card i like and want is Nvida I Love PhysicX
    my spece's are as followed
    Gaming PC
    OS-Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
    Processor-Intel Core i3 530 @ 2.93 ghz (2.93)4 Cores)
    Graphics Card-Nvidia Geforce 210
    RAM 4 GB
    Hard Drive-1TB
    Motherboard-MSI H55M-P33 Intel Mainboard

Case-Cyberpower Gaming Case(Blue light on side glass)
    Monitor- LG W2340HD 1920x1080p 60hz(DVI)

That Lg1156 you mentioned I don't think has anything to do with PSU, LGA 1156 is the CPU socket type.
Take the left side of the case off and look at the label on the power supply (PSU)

  • FX5600 Drivers Install Problem

I finally got the FX5600 128 working after tossing out the old MSI MOBO, which only had a AGP4x, and replacing it with a GA-7N400L running a high end  Athlon and 1G of dual channel RAM. After all, it is Christmas   - Using WinXP/ SP1
    Anyway, here's the problem:
Drivers install fine. PC does a restart, all is well. The FX5600 does what it is supposed to.
But when I do a COLD START,  the installed MSI/nVidea drivers disappear and I'm back to the defaul Windoze VGA drivers.
Essentially, if I switch the PC off and then cold start I need to re-install the FX5600 driver software.
Any ideas for a fix out there?
    TIA

  • Different 8870 BIOS versions?

Does anyone know the difference between the various 8870 BIOS versions listed through http://tw.msi.com.tw/autobios/VerChk/ListBios.asp ?
I'm assuming they're for the different types of 8870 (i.e. 64MB vs. 128MB and with or without VIVO).  However, all are classified as a 8870.
I'm running the 8870 64MB VIVO - Live Update shows it as a 8870-TD64 (though I suspect it should be 8870-VTD64) and that my BIOS is current.
    Anyone?

    How about this:
Does anyone else who has a MSI 8870, G4Ti4200-VTD64 have a BIOS version other than 4.25.00.29.10?
(For those who haven't checked, the following BIOS versions are listed on the BIOS List site:
    Model MS-8870 G4Ti4200-TD64
    Online Ver. 4.25.00.29.10
    Model MS-8870 G4Ti4200-VTD
    Online Ver. 4.25.00.29.00
    Model MS-8870 G4Ti4200-TD64
    Online Ver. 4.25.00.30.00
    Model MS-8870 G4Ti4200-TD64
    Online Ver. 4.25.00.29.24
Live Update reports the current online version as 4.25.00.29.10)

    Hi,
Increase mem voltage in bios too 2.6 ---> 2.70V
The 365 should give enough for a boot too Windows.....
    Also, increase AGP voltage up
Please increase slowly.......it takes time, but you find a stability
If you are/should upgrading the PSU........avoid the dual +12 for now!!!

  • G4Ti4200-VTD64 voltage incompatibility with MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR??

    Hello,
I have the MSI G4Ti4200-VTD64 (4X) video card..  I want to upgrade my motherboard to K7N2 Delta-ILSR. Is there any voltage incompatibility?? I heard that new mother boards will support only AGP 1.5V. Is the AGP voltage of K7N2 Delta-ILSR 1.5volts??  Is my video card compatible with this voltage?? I really want to retain my current video card as I am quite satisfied with it and I'm not willing to invest on a new one at the moment. If there is an incompatibility could you suggest another Socket A MB with good performance and SATA RAID support.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Joseph

And if you have an oppinion of how the tv-out quality is with that specific card - please let me know!

  • MSI G4Ti4200-TP64 Driver

I just purchased the MSI G4Ti4200-TP64, Model # MS-8886 from Fry's Electronics.  I am having problems loading the driver on my computer.  I have a SOYO SY-7VCA-E motherboard with VIA chipset VT82C694X, Pentium III 933 Mhz processor, and 512 Mb RAM.  I do know that some cards have compatibility issues with the VIA chipset.  NO matter what I do the driver will not fully load and I get a data invalid  and the computer defaults to the Windows VGA generic driver.  My previous video card was Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 Pro.

seen other people here similar, appears leadatech drivers are very hard to remove
try a reg cleaner remove all traces of leadtek

  • MSI G4Ti4200-VTP: DualView + Windows XP doesn't work?

    Hi,
I have an MSI GeForce Ti4200 G4Ti4200-VTP (128Mb) and I installed it (and the drivers) a couple of days ago.
Although I don't have 2 CRT displays at home, I decided to try the multi-display features of the board with a TV. After connecting the TV and performing the display detection procedure, and had 2 avaliable devices to use in clone and span. Nevertheless I was never able to use the DualView mode that Windows XP was supposed to support by itself, I mean, I have only a single display on the main display property tab (the one where you define the resolution and the color depth), and not 2 as stated on the nView online manual.
This is my question: shouldn't that tab have 2 displays, even if the second is the TV? Or doesn't the DualView mode of Windows XP work well with TV's? I have this idea that some laptop PC's with TV Out manage to use that output as a 2nd display.
    Best regards,
    Norberto Henriques

     Hi,
Indeed I solved my problem. I just installed the newest detonator drivers (41.??) and I have dualView enabled on XP.

  • MSI G4Ti4200-VTD8X (MS-8894) & SOYO SY-6BB m/b

    Hi,
    I have a PC with:
SOYO SY-6BB motherboard (Baby AT, i440BX chipset)
    AGP slot V1.0 (1x,2x)
    PIII 550 Mhz CPU
    512mb RAM
    SONY SDM-X202 LCD Monitor
Matrox G450 Dual Head video card (32mb)
PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 600 power supply
    OS: Windows XP Pro SP1
    Problem:
Purchased an MSI G4Ti4200-VTD8X (MS-8894) video card.
After installing it, the system does not recognize it ("no signal" message appears on monitor and monitor goes into sleep mode).  In addition, a burning smell is emitted from the power supply (??). This happened with the old 250W supply and also with the new Turbo-Cool that replaced it. Both PSUs still work.
The vendor's customer service says the card is a 2x/4x card and is not compatible with my 1x/2x AGP slot.
    Questions:
    Any thoughts on this?
Is customer service correct on this?
Can anyone recommend a digital video card that will work with my SOYO SY-6BB motherboard  (the stronger the card the better) ??
    Thanks in advance !!
    Happy Holidays !!!

    GREAT !!
I also tried an ATI RADEON 8500 128MB, but it wouldn't work either.  It did work on an H/P system I had access to.
This is freaking me out.  I want to keep my present system because I like the full tower style, and it has served me well.....   Tomorrow...
    Thanks, Richard.
