Msi Nx6800gt-td256

The MSI NX6800GT are this still reference boards of
Nvidia or that have been already updated by MSI themselves?

I think the only card that MSI has updated is the NX6800 (non ultra or GT).

Very true... But bulk software are often down clocked to get a cheaper price (my friend had one).

  • NX6800GT TD256 problems

hello. I purchase/bought a MSI NX6800GT TD256 and I noticed that this VGA card was made with production problems, and my 6800GT is with this problems... unfortunatelly (blue dots and my computer never initializate) - my power supply is a seventeam 400w and i was tested my card in 3 computers (same problems)
I entered in several forum and all say the same thing, MSI manufactured a wrong VGA card model during some time, with the cooler BBN (of plastic) and later modified the model placing a cooler called Cooper Ultra.
In the image, my model is the first picture and the correct model is the second.
but in the second image, besides in the site of MSI, it shows up the correct model, that is different from mine.
How should I proceed to change the model?
    Thank you

It seems that since the introduction of the PCI-e version of the 6800 series... they have also started using the black-reference cooler...
Take a look at the photo of the NU pci-e in the photo...

  • [GeForce 6] Query abt compatibility (NX6800GT-TD256 )

    Hi,
I wanted to go for NX6800GT-TD256 (or  NX6800 Ultra-T2D256)  but the problem is that my mobo ( which is Gigabyte 7VKMP)
supports AGP 4x only and I don't want to upgrade my mobo currently, so I wanted to ask will this MSI card work on my mobo ( as I know its AGP 8x)
     Pls help.

I posted this query in another public forum, and somebody told me that he also tried to use 8x card(didn't specified name)  in 4x slot but it didn't worked. He told me to refer to motherboard manual and the card docs which I m going for... told me to check for some voltage issues .

  • MSI FX5600 TD256 Problems

Hi all. This is my first time on these boards and must say the info i have got from it is outstanding. Keep it up.
    I need some help.... I use an MSI KT4 Ultra via KT400 chipset based M/B with an AMD XP2600+. 1024MB 2700 ram. MSI FX5600 TD256mb G/C. 120gb H/D. Thermaltake power supply 480w. Water cooled.
My problem is that the PC starts up and runs ok for a while but all of a sudden the monitor goes blank. The CPU fan still runs but all else fails. ie, case fans, CD drives, etc.
The only way i can get it to work again is by removing the G/C and reinserting again. It makes no difference if i just turn off all power to the PC. This again works fine for a while and then it happens again?
Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem or what it could be. I have seen others mention the power supplies but mine is not the cheap type and surely 480w is ample?
I am sorry if something here is not listed. Let me know if any other info is required and i will post.
I forgot to say. I have put in an old G2 G/c from my old system for now and have not had a problem so i can assume it is something to do with the G/C?
I do not know if i need new drivers or BIOS? I can never get into the MSI live update for this. Does anyone know how to get them and especially for the BIOS, how do you instal them (in detail, I do not want to dammage anything).
    Thanks in advance
    MSI KT4 Ultra-FISR (MS6590). MSI FX5600 TD256 256mb. AMD XP2600+. 1024mb 2700 ram, (2x 512). 120gb maxor h/d. Thermaltake Xaser11 case + 480w p/s. Water cooled. Win XP pro

Hi there. Since you are talking about flashing BIOS's, may I ask a question? (OK, another one.  )
I was looking through some of my old downloads on my hard drive and in my MSI folder, I came across an upgraded BIOS for my MSI Ti4200-VTD64 (MS-8870). The file is GF4Ti4200_4.25.00.37_250_500.rom, but I did not have an installer for it. I searched the MSI web site, but I didn't even see this file. I wouldn't have put it in that folder unless it came from MSI, so my question is, does anyone know how to install it, or where I can get an installer for it?
    Thanks
(...and yes I'm familiar with the possible perils of flashing  )

  • Getting a replacement fan & heatsink module for my MSI NX6800GT (agp)

    Hi all,
I got a bit of a problem, the fan on my MSI NX6800GT (agp) sounds like a dog, after removing the card and having a look, it appears that the spindle that holds the fan in place has worn out (the fan seems to drop down onto the plastic and thats what is making the noise) . Its buggered basically. Do any of you fine people know of where I can get a decent replacement fan and heatsink?
    All help appreciated
    John

OK, I ordered one of those  nv silencers, I thought about contacting MSI like you guys said but after reading about this product I thought what the hell . . . £20 but worth it.
    http://www.gladiatorcomputers.com/ProductDetail.aspx?StockCode=ACCARTREV4NVS53&Link=SearchResults
It came yesterday, so last night I installed it, fitted well, one small thing on the instructions, there is an "L" shaped metal bracket called a passive heatsink plate, now I know my **** from my elbow but could I work out where this was supposed to go? . . . NO.
Anyway it appears that I dont need this bit, why cant they just say "this bit is optional". Kinda scary fitting stuff like this when youre as green as me.
Anyway, all went well. Thank you all.
    Regards
    John

  • MSI FX5500-TD256 fix possible?

Hello, I have a big prob with my agp card (MSI FX5500-TD256)...I use to have a PNY GeForce MX440 installed...and that worked great..but when I upgraded to the 5500...my Pc reboots on high graphic games (IE: Dungeon Seige2...Diablo2..even..Ultima Online).  I have Win XP Pro. (Not 64bit)...I do not have any service pack installed.  I have DirectX 9.0c....my PSU is 450Watts.  I have downloaded the newest MSI drivers (that didnt correct the prob).  I rolled back driver to the one that came with the 5500 card (7.7.7.2version)...I am totally stumped.  Plz..if anyone knows how to correct this graphic nightmare....I would really appreciate any help.  Thnxs much,
    Rubix.

Okies...I went to the ECS website and look for updates on my mobo.  They have issued a bios update..which is suppose to fix a known issue with my particular board and NVidia chipsets.  The update is suppose to be burnt to a floppy and read in dos upon restart.  My Pc hangs on posting saying "invalid system disk" until the floppy is removed.

  • MSI NX6800GT - Problems running 2 cards inSLi

    Tagan 480W
    Asus A8N-SLi-Deluxe
    AMD Athlon 64 3500+
    2 GB Corsair PC3200
    2 x MSI NX6800GT-T2D256E gfx cards
    2 x 160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA
    Sony 16X DVD RW
    Sony CD RW
    19" Sony TFT SDM-HS94P
    Win 2k SP4
    lo,
Well the above is my brand new setup - if it would just work :p
The basic problem is that I can run either of the cards perfectly fine on their own with the other one disabled/removed but when I try to run them together I never get passed the Win2k graphical boot screen....instead of the 'logon' screen appearing, I get a monitor message that the 'signal is out of range' and I get a bright white screen and nothing else :((
    So far, I've tried:
    - Differing drivers from the out of the box ones to the latest from msi and nvidias website
    - Different monitor (CRT) which still exhibits the white screen phenenoma with 2 cards in Sli
    - Checked the m/b BIOS and as far as I can see have all the correct SLi settings selected..
    - Tried to use 'RefreshForce' utility to set the frequency at 60hz in the mistaken belief that might solve the 'signal out of range' problem.
    - Made sure the m/b itself has the 'EZ selector card' (as they call it) correctly positioned for 'Dual Video Cards' and the Sli Connector properly attached to the 'goldfingers' on the cards...
Thought it was the new tft/lcd monitor at first but having tried with my old crt and using RefreshForce with the same results i'm beginning to doubt it...
The only thing that's odd that I can tell at the moment is that althought the 2 cards are 'identical', one of the cards has a little green led on permanently close to the power in - the other one doesnt have this light and I cant find any reference to it in documentation.....as i said earlier though, they both 'appear' to work fine individually, just when trying to get em going in Sli....
If anyones got any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them
    tia

    SAB,
I tried exactly what u said from a clean install with no luck :(
    1) SLi card on m/b turned to 'single card'
    2) DirectX 9.0(c) installed
    3) Video Drivers from CD installed
    4) Forceware 66.93 installed
All absolutely fine at this point, no conflicts, errors or uninstalled devices.
    5) Switched off comp, turned SLi card to 'dual cards'
    6) Installed second card and the SLi connector to the goldfingers
    7) Checked BIOS settings for SLi
    8) Plugged in "EZ-Plug" on m/b
    9) restarted comp upon which win2k detects 2nd vid card and installs drivers for it.
At this point the 2nd card shows in device manager with a yellow exclamation and the comp wants to reboot to finish driver installation..
If i click 'restart later' and go into nview configs to set SLi mode, the SLi feature only says somehting like...."You have an SLi compatible card, to get the benfit of SLi please install another card"....there is no chance at this point to actually select SLi - presumably beacuse driver installation needs completing for the 2nd card??
So, now there's no choice but to restart...but when I do that, the display is fine through Boot sequence until it tries to switch from the 'graphica'l win2k loading screen (with the blue loading bar at the bottom) to the 'desktop / login' loading screen..
At that point, as always, the screen flickers and on TFT's u get a brief message saying "Signal out of Range - 96-105KHz" (i think!) before the screen just turns completely white and u cant see anything else....
After this i can only enter windows through safe or vga mode and when I do, the 2 vid cards appear to be installed perfectly.. In safe mode there's no nview or options to set SLi mode and restarting only gives the same 'signal out of range' message :(
At this stage the only way to get a visible non-white display back is to disable the 2nd gfx card in device manager whilst in safe mode and restart with just the primary card  enabled :(
So, I'm still confused as to why the addition of the second card should alter the frequency(?) of the first card so as to screw the display when it works fine in single card mode..
I've tried this procedure using both cards as the 'primary' card still with the same results...frustrating!

  • Msi nx6800gt agp atrifact problem pls HELP!!!

    hello all,
well guys need a help, a real bit starnge problem im facing, i got a MSI NX6800GT 256MB DDR3 AGP graphic card, the system boots up well no issues in the 2d mode but when i ran cod2 i faced kind of shall i say pixel sized squares appearing during gameplay the same was noticed playing f.e.a.r also, i chcked the card with riva tuner it showed the card as a proper 6800gt with 16pipelines etc i dont knw whts the problem i tried the same card in my frnds system also, he is running a gainward 6800gt golden sample we noticed the same kind of square artifacts which run all round the screen sometimes very few but i think as the game goes on its more, the card was run at stock speed of 350/1000 and the temp maintains at 62 degrees...
the system tested on had specs amd 3400+ 754 on a asus k8ne dlx mobo, with 1 gb twinmoss ram, an 500w power supply, the 3dmark2005 scroce is 4736pts, an we noticed these spots even during the benchmark....
the driver version used was 71.77 series then we used the 66 series an even msi's default series or drivers but to no avail pls do guide me on this guys it wud be really really helpful...
    regards,
    vicky

    hey richard,
i tired tht also, infact in the very begening the new forceware drivers were used then we tried the others, actually the artifacts are not like polygons or anthying they are square sized pixels tht appear on the screen, the monitor used was a viewsonic 17'' flat screen and the res was 1024 X 768.
we saw some serious square pixels in bf2, cod2 an even fear! 3dmark05 also displayed the same, do you think its a problem with the card or the cooling, the temp of the card remains between 56-62 deg.
we dont wanna underclock te card as i think it wud void the warranty!

  • MSI FX5600-TD256 (256mb card)

    Hi,
My pc spec is like following,
    Pentium 1.8A ghz
    256DDr ram,
    Asus motherboard P4B533,
And Geforce 4 mx 440 64 mb card, etc.
I wish to upgrade my graphic card, so i want to buy MSI FX5600-TD256 model.
It is my computer(motherboard)support this graphic card?
AlSo it is any different between MSI geforceFx5600 128mb and MSI geforceFx5600 256MB?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I wouldn't even buy the FX5600, because as you can read nside this formum, there are lots of big problems with this card and the drivers.
I installed the card first in an win XP system, but could not get any newer game to run (e.g. age of mythology, morrowind, rise of nations, freelancer....)
Afterwards after my cpu died I instaled the card in an windows 2000 server system, and I still have exactly the same problem. 1 minute after starting the game the system crashes and starts write a memory dump.
Tried miniport driver update, tried driver update, tried driver cleaner, nothing helped so far.
My advice you should buy a graphic card that is known to have a working properly driver, e.g. as OpT1kN3rv told the Ti4800

  • Help installing a MSI NX7600GS-TD256 GeForce 7600GS 256MB

    Hello,
I was recently given this video card by a friend... MSI NX7600GS-TD256 GeForce 7600GS 256MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card. The problem is that it didn't come with any installation instructions. I'm putting it in this motherboard http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Motherboards/detail_spec.aspx?ID=en-us0000114.
I know the graphics card is compatible with the motherboard. My question is do I have to connect the graphics card to the power supply in my computer.

    gallienus,
Also next time please list your specs so we can get the full picture of what is in your rig.
This will also give us a chance to point out any issues which might be a problem for you.

  • Major headaches with MSI FX5500 TD256 card...

    Hello all,
I recently purchased an MSI FX5500 TD256..now my system keeps rebooting and often suffers from screen freeze.  I can access the internet and stay connected all day with no problems....but as soon as I try to play an online game such as City Of Heroes...reboot.
I have already installed the newest bios/mobo drivers and any other updates recommended by the program:  Everest.
I have tried numerous drivers from both MSI site and Nvidia site.  (Cleaning after each re-install of these with Driver Cleaner Pro as to avoid any possible conflicts.)
I even re-installed OS (WinXP/Home) twice.  (after formatting HD of course).
I have used DocMem to check the ram...ram checked out ok.
I am at my wits end....if anyone has any ideas...solutions..plz help....not much hair left  (grabs handfull and begins to pull)...
I have a rar file (mini dump file of the error and Everest report on my system)...is it possible to post these?
The system is roughly 2---2 1/2 yrs old.  (Self built and havent had any serious probs with it until this card.)  oddly enough...the card doesnt appear faulty...
Also...Everest reports CPU temp is 120F.   But there are 6 fans installed and mobo/CPU  cooler are (mostly) clean.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thnxs.
