Hi,
can you provide a little more information about your system configuration?

  • MSI 890FXA-GD70 Crossfire Problems

hi, im new to crossfire and my cousin just gave me his old msi r4770 cyclone..
im wondering why i cant run both cards at full x16 bandwidth..
one is running at PCIE 2.0 @ x16 and another one at PCIE 1.1 @ x8
and why does the other one say PCIE 1.1 and not 2.0?..
i used PCIE_1 and PCIE_5 as the manual says..
    here are the screenshots:

glad i could help you get it working! that is a common problem with dust and dabris getting into the unused connectors on motherboards leading to connection problems between cards and motherboard!
in future if that ever happens again try the clean and reseat as that is the most common problem!

  • MSI 4870 MD1G crossfire problem

i resently bought 2  msi 4870 MD1G  i installed them and i connected the bridges, installed catalyst 9.4.
and i found that crossfirex is unavailble in the control center i checked the hardware and its installed corectly also the bridges.
i re-installed the driver but no luck i also uninstalled the driver->runed safe mode->cleaned the ati registry with driver sweeper->installed the driver but no luck again.
and i didn,t found any option in my mob bios 2 siwtch bettwen single and daul PCI-e
    i need help plzzzzzz
Plus: every time when i use the pc, at the begining i see dots, lines , and screen tearing in media and games and the temperature  rise 2 66-71,and after  1-2 min the screen goes black then return again and all the problems gone and the temp return 2 normal.
is it a hardware problem or a driver issue?

thx for the help but i already fixed the problem:
for who is having a problem similar 2 me use this method
    1) First uninstall all component CCC with traditional method through Vista x64 "uninstall a program"
    2) Reboot the system and again make sure everything is off the system.
    3) Go back to the "Uninstall a program" list and ensure that there is no other ATI specific software listed. If there is use the same method and remove it and restarting the system when complete.
    4) Go to computer under "C" hard drive and locate folder ATI and remove it manualy.
    5) This is what I have made myself : restart computer in safe mode and with driver sweeper clean all entries concerning ATI driver.
    6) Restart in normal mode and clean registries entries with the soft Ccleaner.
    7) Shut down the computer and retrieve the cards and replug only one card .
    8) Restart the computer.
    9) disable non microsoft services and startup programs:
    - click Start and then click Run (execute)
    -Type "msconfig" without quotes
-click on tab "General" and after click on "Selective Startup" and clear the "Load System Services" check box.
-Under tab "Startup" click to clear "Load Startup Items"
-On the "Services " tab click to select the "Hide All Microsoft Services" check box and then click "Disable All"
-click applies and ok and restart the computer.
    10) Installing the driver with only one card pluged
    11) shut down the computer and install the second card with bridge interconnect.
    12) restart the computer.

  • MSI 4870 crossfire problem

I simply cannot get crossfire to enable with these 2 cards, the CCC menu is not showing crossfire :
    R4870-T2D1G-OC
    R4870-MD1G
They are both 1gb models, i know the MD1G is a newer version of the card, could this be a problem?
    i tried a sh*tload of things :
    - loads of different catalyst drivers
    - freshly installed system
    - testing both cards independantly
    - fully updated windows
    - putting them at same clockspeeds
    - putting the bridge to the right instead of the left connectors
    I'm running them on a X48T board with 1600DDR3 , Vista 32bit and a 850watt OCZ supply
As far as i can see there are no bios options for crossfire.
Any help is appreciated cuz i'm starting to get clueless about this not working...

After looking deep into the forum i found a similar post saying that the MSI drivers fix this problem and it did!!!

[Athlon64] Msi K8N Neo2 Platinum problems with Patriot Ram

    First post, whoo hooo
So what version of BIOS are u running?  I recently installed the two newest versions 2.0 and 2.1, and they both give me problems.  With the latest (2.1) I'm getting the same error as you.  Returning back to previous BIOS fixed my problems.  Oh yeah, my RAM is Kingston Hyper-X, so i don't think thats your problem.
Let me know if you fix it, thats why im here, .

  • Power of the Press - MSI Neo4 SLI Bios Problem

For those interested, I just sent this to hardocp because they did the review on the MSI SLI Platinum.  Since MSI headlines this review on their website, maybe hardocp can do something about this bios problem.  Enjoy and please send more emails to hardocp so we can get this problem addressed!  Believe me, Ive seen this works with washington politicians, I know it can work if we all do it.
I appreciate companies like yours doing extensive reviews about products.  However, your review caused me and a whole bunch of others to purchase this board with enormous problems associated with it (check out the msi forums).  The problem is that this board works only for 130nm chips in which you tested on.  On the newer amd 90nm chips, this board is the worst performing sli board out in the marketplace (for both winni and venice core chips).  You need to do something to stop people from buying this board because its just awful and the folks from MSI are silent on the subject.
It's gotten so bad that people have gone out and purchased other sli boards, transferred all of the equipment out of it and into the new one and guess what...voila, no problems.  Anyway, some of those in the other user forums had the same problem but those other manufacturers quickly fixed the problem.  Its just getting worse and worse.  I feel like both msi (and I am MAD) and reviewers like you (unless you don't know about the problem) are silent on this and its cost me hard earned MONEY ($175 for the mobo) and hours and hours of time...
You have a LOT OF POWER with MSI and I can see it because they headline your review on their website (power of the press).   For Gods sake, please do something before others make the same mistake or if you can get MSI to allocate resources to fix the problem...you would be HEROs!  Thank you.

Ok, I guess I am confused some, where is the issue with the new cores? I have no issues running the San Diego core and the my memory at the listed and published speeds.....
    Quote
Also is your MOBO the SLI type? I run the SLI Neo4 with a San Diego core without any issues. In fact I dropped it in and booted using the San Diego as a direct replacement for a older (if 6 months is old!!) 3500. I have OC'ed with Corecetner as far as I can push it and runs awesome!
    Quote
GUys, I am not sure exactly what issues you are experiencing as there can be MANY factors! But my SLI Neo is running awesome! It overclocks (no Tiresmoke, i won't go into that in this forum  ) and has NEVER once BSOD, or rebooted or even crashed! Not once and I push the crap out of this as it is my gaming box.  Also TS you are SO correct on the clock settings on the ultras, you gotts make sure they are the same or it will cause issues. The only thing I am kinda bummed about is the lack of real performance with the dual 6800 Ultra's, but that is a Nvidia issue not MSI. Guys I may be blessed, but I have run three Neo MSI brds, 2 939 and 1 754 and never had any issues....

I have yet to experience any boot/reboot issues...So I think we should wait to hear more from this person before we assume anything...

I have the nForce4 SLI brd and i run a new San Diego..it booted up fine and zero problems. But man is this thing FAST
    Quote
According to MSI, the Neo4 will work fine with the new cores, the Neo2 will need a bios upgrade
    Quote
I set my brd up the first time for SLI with dual cards and have never had any issues..Sorry guys, but I guess it's the luck of the draw, but I have yet to ever ave an issue with any MSI brds..I have a Neo2,Neo4 and the older 754 slot Neo..no issues.

Look, I have already been threatened to be banned because of my sarcastic replies to you.  Read every one of your responses I listed.  Obviously OTHERS are having problems.  WHY don't you help them instead of TAUNTING people that yours works.  They are upset, and you make them feel dumb like it's their fault.
Man I have tried to contribute so much to this issue that at least 20 different members here are having, I have tested with an Asus SLI board, I have tried different BIOS's and posted results, I have theorized with others and I feel like you are slapping me in the face by restating time and time again "what problem mine works great"i
I'm on a verbal warning because I didn't have respect for you.  Well how are you respecting the other people who have problems by saying you don't know what their issue is.  Read up on it or help them, instead of creating tension. Please?

  • MSI 651 Combo / MS6769 Problem with Temperature

Hi. I´m having some troubles with my mb, since 2 weeks ago. Suddenly, it starts to appear that cpu temperature go 70 º C (158 º F), and i hadn´t do anything. I changed the cooler, and put some new grease, and nothing happen. Then i searched in this forum, and i found a message simmilar, that said something about upgrade bios, and thas what i recently do (WS6769 v1.0 originally, then V1.3, then V1.2). But nothing...
What should i do? buy another mb? I don´t want to.
    Thanks.
    Claudio

Well, i´m pretty sure that it is the mother board, because, i already changed all what´s possible to change: processor, RAM, hd, power supply, processor.
Din: I don´t know what´s "corecenter". I already upgraded BIOS (to v1.2 that supuestly fix my problem), and put thermal paste (grease? in spanish "pasta disipadora") between CPU cooler and CPU. And i do change the processor (i put a p4 1,8GHz), with other FAN processor (CPU cooler), and the same temperature.
    Danny:Those details you ask me:
    In a label on the power supply (lVoltage MAXAmpere): +5V 30A, +3.3V 20A, +12V 15A, -12V 0.8A, -5V 0.5A, +5Vsb 2.5A.
It is a Maxpower 300 Watts ATX, model PX300.
    On BIOS PC Health: Sys Temp: 18ºC/66ºF, CPU Temp 66ºC/150ºF (up to 70ºC), CPU Fan speed 2909 RPM, Vcore 1.68V, 3.3V 3.26V, +5V 5.10V, +12V 12.03V, -12V -12.19V, VBAT(V) 3.26V, 5Vsb(V) 5.14V.
I have a Celeron 1,8 GHz, socket 478, a MSI 651 Combo MS6769 Motheboard, with nothing else. Hd Maxtor 30Gb, Rewriter MSI 52x24x52.
The problem: From one day to another, it wasn´t load XP. It resets itself after a few seconds (about 5 secs). On the BIOS PC Health section, i actived the CPU Temperature beep on "too much degrees" (i don´t remember the exact name, but that´s the idea). And that´s how i realize that the temperature is the problem. I think it is how the motherboard inform the temperature, and it is a nominal temperature, not real. If it´s real, i already had a burnt processor.
Anything else that can help to find a solution for me?
    Very thanks.
    Claudio

  • MSI Hawk HD5770 Crossfire voltage/overclocking problems.

Hi everyone. This is my first post ever on a technical forum.
I've been playing around with the MSI Hawk 5770 video cards recently and I have some questions/concerns. I am running the new Catalyst 10.4 drivers without CCC installed and overclocking using MSI Afterburner. I have voltage altering unlocked (I think: Unlock voltage control checked in the properties and changed in the .cfg file) and have been able to overclock the cards to 950/1250 on stock voltages. I run Kombuster to test stability and I'm wondering, does GPU-Z read voltages correctly for these cards? No matter what I set the voltage to, GPU-Z reads 1.000v in the sensor tab.
I've been unable to break 1290MHz memory clock speeds and I'm not sure if it's because the cards I have just can't go higher or if the voltages aren't changing appropriately. When I set the memory clock to 1300 or higher, my system will freeze/hang (not crash mind you) within 5 seconds to 3 minutes of running Kombuster.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

Clarification: When the freezes/hangs happen, there is not a temperature problem. Haven't seen temps above 72C during stress tests and nothing over ~70C before a freeze/hang.

  • MSI R6570 MDIGD3 Crossfire ready ?

    Hello,
It's all in the title : I would like to know if my MSI R6570 MDIGD3 is ready for ATI Crossfire or not ?
My motherboard (Asus Rampage Formula) is ready for it but i don't know about my graphic card...
    Thanks for your help

the R6570 is a basic adapter I would also suggest that you save up money and buy a better card like a R7770, R7870 or R7970 as what you have is a waste of time and money getting another for crossfire as the payback will be next to nothing and cause more  problems. usually a single good card is much better then 2 lower ones as they scale poorly (I used to have 2 HD5770's (your R6570 is way worse then one of them 60% of the steam processors and half of everything else) in crossfire and my new single R7870 out performs both 5770's in crossfire all on its own also saved a good 80W of power draw in the process).
so get a single card like a R7770 and you will have compared to your current card 2 or 3x or more performance (crossfire with older cards is a waste of time and money - BEEN THERE DONE THAT).

  • H55M-ED55 Crossfire problem

I have installed two ATI HD5670 1GB on H55M-ED55. On Catalyst it does not show crossfire tab, it shows that secondary apapter is disabled. I have everything installed correctly and crossfire worked on my last Gigabyte motherboard(ga-h55-s2h). I read that the problem may have something to do with the second PCI-E being x4 at speed, when two GPUs installed, but by last motherboard was the same by PCI-E speeds. I know that this topic has been discussed before somewhere but i found no answer. Help?
    I have windows 7 32-bit, latest drivers, Intel i3

How many amps do you have on your PSU 12V rail? Did you use this PSU in your previous CF build as well?

30 if i have read it right. Yes, the PSU was the same on the previous build.

  • Msi kt3 ultra, msi gf4 4200 tvout problem

    I have a msi gf4 4200 64mb card and i have a msi kt3 ultra aru and windows xp,
my problem is tv out is garbled in pal , ntsc is grey (iam in europe), the colours seem inverted blues are red, etc and theres a ghosting effect around moving images like in videos or around the cursor
Ive tried everything from default mem setting , to high performance , tried diferent driver sets , tried windows 2000, tried via chipset drivers, latest msi, nvidia gf drivers, pal b , g , i , 60hz, diferent resolutions, clone view, single output to tv, stretch view , nothing seems to fix it, the only thing that comes close to fixing it is using the tvtool http://tvtool.info/ with color fix correction activated, but the images isnt stable its got a weird strecthing, shimmering effect on the bottom half of the tv image
Iam sure that the problem is not tv or cable related because i tried a friends p4 (board msi sis 645dx) with the exact same model gf4 4200 (not my one) with my scart cable and tv set up and it worked fine.
Could it be a voltage problem? ive even tried upping agp and core voltage a bit to see if helps, and nothing

    mhuizing,
nope havent tried a diferent tv , but it should work ,  i tested the connection with a friends computer
exact same gfx card model and it worked fine!
My old system leadtek gf3 ti200 , epox 8kha+ worked fine with this connection.
Iam using a scart cable to a video , then from the vid to the tv via antena cable
i upgraded and voila, i got some headaches for free  :P !!!

    athlon xp 3200+
seagate 120 gb sata 7200.7 hd
ati radeon 9800 pro excalibur ice q
i have 2 problems : the first one is that sometimes windows display me a blue screen with certain problem related to ati2dg.dll i think that problem is beacause the video card so i decided to update the bios , in the live update page from msi says that the bios 7.6 fix a bug with ati vga cards but after flashing and updating to bios v7.6 that blue screen with the same error still appearing so i dont know what else to do to solve the problem and the second one is that when i start any game or make the processor to work a little mostly related with video stuff the case speaker start to beep and the pc lags until he restarts with no reason i really dont know why if u can help me thank you

    Foxtrotccs,
In the BIOS try setting the AGP to 4X and disable Sidebanding. Then set the AGP Apeture to 256. See if that helps.
Make sure you are running the lastest   nVidia nForce Drivers and the latest ATI Catalyst Drivers
    Take Care,
    Richard
P.S. There is still a possibility that the Kingston RAM is the problem.

  • Msi KT3 MoBo / MSI geForce4 TI 4200 Problem

Hello, hopefully someone can help me.  I am having a rather unusual problem.  Least I think it is.  I have a MSI kt3 ultra2 motherboard, 512 meg ddr 2100 crucial ram.  AMD XP 2000+ CPU and an MSI Geforce4 TI4200 video card.  First of all, what agp settings should i use?  4x? 2x?.  Secondly, should i enable agp fast writes?  And last, what are the other 2 settings in the agp setup in the bios which are like 1/2 or 2/3?
I also ran mad onions 3d mark 2001 SE and got a score of 4898!  This seems a little low to me.  Comparing online, I should be getting scores rannging from 9000 to 13000.  I have installed Nvidia Detonator drivers but they are the latest beta drivers.  Are these bad drivers?  None of my games ever freeze except for Soldier of Fortune 2.  It slows way down and when i ctrl+alt+del, it says i am using 100% cpu usage.  Can anyone help me?  I just want my system i bought a week ago to run at its full potential and have nowhere else to turn.

I am using Windows XP Pro.  I am running the 3d Mark 2001 SE with a 1024 resolution and no AA.  I am also using a 32bpp color depth.  The defaults when you load the program up for the first time basically.  I never did get a patch for SOF II although I should have.  Man do I fell like such a n00b.
Hey Jamie B, you said i should "disable support for advanced cpu controls is NOT checked".  Where is that at?
Thanks to all who have replied. :D   I appreciate it.
