MSI P67A-G43 (B3) Boot Password - How to reset?

I am currently locked out of my MSI P67A-G43 (B3) machine, due to a bootup password. Recovering the password is not an option, I want to reset it.
I have already attempted clearing the CMOS (both with the jumper pad and with the button), and neither appears to have worked. The password has persisted through the reset. The ClickBIOS has not been updated since the board was purchased, which was one year ago.
Any help?

Other than advice already given we do not assist in attempts at bypassing or hacking BIOS/system passwords. Reason being we have no way of knowing if parts are stolen or not or whatever reason you can't use the original p'word that was entered.
If you want to you can ask MSI for further assistance but this forum can't help with that.

    MB: MSI P67A-G43
    HD: Seagate 1TB
    DVD: HP 1260
    CPU: Intel i5 2500K
I just built my first PC.  In the BIOS I had it set to boot first from my DVD drive that has a 64-bit version of Windows 7 loaded.  No matter what I tried, I received the message: "Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device"
So I have been on the phone with technical support, and they suggested I download a driver update, which I found HERE.
I have tried installing both the driver and the BIOS updates, but every time it says that the boot from the pen drive failed and to check the USB drive and ROM.
I've looked for answers all over the web, but the only ones I find assume that you've previously had Windows installed.  This is a first boot though, and I really don't know what to do next.  Can anyone help with this?
    thanks!

If anyone would like to take a look at these OC settings that are default with my board as to a reason why it wouldn't be booting from the DVD drive or accepting the RAM, I would appreciate it.

  • MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 wont BOOT!

    My pc
    PSU:Ultra 650w
    CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k
    MOBO:MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67
    Video Card:ATI 6950 GIGABYTE 2GB.
    HDD:SEAGATE 1TB
    RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL
    Explanation
I recently changed my motherboard from gigabyte+amd 955(worked flawlessly) to an intel core i7 2600k and the current mobo, i kept all the previous components and now i am having trouble booting up my pc. It starts and all the comps seem to work no beep but the monitor LED turns off and on and there is not even a "no signal" notice therefore i dont think its my video card causing the issue.
What could it be? I heard that CPU is the least faulty component.
Is the memory compatible or should i switch? worked fine on previous build.
    Or is it the mobo?

Thanks for the help it happens that it was my dumb monitor not working in hdmi or dvi controller.  Funny cause the component works fine on my ps3.....
So no problem whatsoever just my monitor worned out and needs to rma because its been only 1 year.
But before you leave i had to remove the cpu to check if i put it right... and maybe some thermal contact worn off a little bit because the motherboard bios in the OC section is displaying 55 degrees celcious is that normal(the bar reaches red section)? Room temp 74 degrees. also hardware monitor displays 40 degrees celcious each core Which one should i believe.

You can play COD2 in single player mode? If so, then I would think that you have a game set-up problem with the mutli player mode.
Just do a search on the net for that error message and you will see you are not alone. Go to the game manufacturers site and check for game updates. It could also be related to direct X installation.
Hi, i think could be a drivers problem, i just replaced my motherboard and processor only and i never had any problem before...

  • MSI P67A-G43 (B3) - Need help identifying this postcode

    Need help identifying this postcode:
    CPU:i7-2600k
    Mobo:MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
    PSU: Corsair 750w
GPU isn't the problem since I replaced it and still get this postcode. RAM isn't the problem since I've tried four different sticks one at a time in each slot and still get the postcode. Getting no live video from the GTX580 and no onboard video. I think either the mobo or the CPU is the problem, don't want to have to send both in for RMA so if anyone can help me identify the postcode that'd be great.

    Hey Ctrl
Well I happen to have the same beep code on my motherboard (P67A-C43 B3), after trying different suggestions from the MSI forum users and MSI technical support I ended up RMA(ing) my motherboard.
You can try resetting the CMOS, by flipping the battery and leaving it like that for 5 minutes and putting it back to its original side. I highly doubt it is your cpu. Like anybody in the forum might suggest, try different components which appears you already did. I doubt your corsair is faulty. CPU and motherboard are your best bet that are faulty, and i highly doubt that it is the CPU because for there to find another person (you) that had the same problem as me since last friday (RMA board yesterday, wednesday) I find it highly unlikely.

  • MSI P67A-GD65 Slow Boot

At times I'll get stuck at B4 or 98 error code for a good 5-15mins plus. I will either have to wait it out or press reset until it boot properly. Even when it gets passed this issue I still have to wait a while looking at the windows start up animation. I'm using a 2500k right now, my i920 system only displays the animation once before proceeding into windows.
The major issue is the B4/98 issue. I have tried a lot of things to no availability. If all else fails I will send this board back to Amazon and pick up an Asus or w/e.

My problem is wheni press the power switch, everything starts fine and the fans spin up and the LED's on the board are fine but after 4-5sec it shuts itself off and tries the exact same process again. Straight power loop? Can't even get to BIOS?  if so could try resetting the CMOS, also try a different DIMM and/or GPU (even keyboard, had a couple post where the power loop ceased after unplugging the keyboard) and possibly best try a different higher powered PSU...if you can get into BIOS raising the vCore can help eliminate the loop problem, but still indicates something is wrong if it takes to much vCore for successful boot, with a 2500k should be able to boot and run stock at 1.19-1.21 for 3.3GHz

  • MSI A88X-G43 not booting

Hey, got some Problems after I set up my new desktop pc. Maybe anyone can help me on this:
The Motherboard won't boot. Fans are spinning but the connected display stays black and the speaker connected to the mainboard won't make a sound.
    I use the following equipment:
    MSI A88X-G43 Motherboard
    AMD Athlon X4 860K Processor
    GPU: HIS Radeon R9 270
    DIMM: Kingston KVR16N11S8/4 4gb
I tried unplugging the RAM as well as connecting the motherboard to different displays. Nothing seems to work so far. Maybe it has something to do with the version of the bios? Couldn't find the sticker with version number on the board though.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, thank you for the quick reply.
I use a XFX TS 550 as a power supply. Should be enough i guess.
As for the CMOS: I've cleared it twice. Once with pin method (although there was no pin included to bridge the two pols) and the other time with removing the battery. Both times... nothing changed - still no screen signal.
I used both - the graphics card output aswell as the video output from the mainboard. Both times ... nothing changed.
The systems been out of its case as soon as the problems began to appear. There's a beeper stuck in the right place but it just wont beep. I tried booting without a dimm inserted to force a beep - but nothing happened. All fans spinning -_-
I had hoped, that it had something to do with the bios version and the amd athlon x4 860k...

  • MSI P67A-G43 b3 Fan Control ?

    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-G43--B3-.html#/?div=Detail
    my board has - CPU x 1 / System x 4 FAN connectors
I have a CPU fan and 3 system fans connected. CPU fan is plugged into the CPU fan I/O
the 3 system, fans are plugged into #1, #2 and #3 fan ports.
so here is my dilemma. For some reason only my CPU fan and fan 1 and fan 2 or recognized. I can adjust their fan speed as i need to with no problems.
But anything i plug into port #3 or #4 is not recognized for fan control. I have swapped out which fans are plugged into all 4 system fan ports but they dont show up as even being installed when i plug them into #3 or #4. any fan i plug into the 1 or 2 spot is seen and can have speed adjusted.
Anyone know what may be causing this?

There is no monitoring or control for those fan headers, its just a power header. Most MBs only allow control for CPU and Sys #1 and # 2 at most.
If you wish to control more fans, you will need an aftermarket fan controller.
