MSI P67A-GD53 P67 cannot get sound nor internet

Hey, it's my 1st time with Intel products and windows 7. I installed my mobo drivers tonight, but I cannot seem to get any sound out nor get my internet working... I never had this problem before
Mobo- MSI P67A-GD53 P67 SLI CrossFireX
Do I need to do something different than with AMD products ?!
Thx in advance

Ok, do you see the Realtek HD Audio correctly installed in your Device Manager?
When you plug speakers into MoBo, do you get a auto pop-up dialog from Audio Manager?
If not, you have to click yellow folder (in the upper right corner on the picture below) and to enable that dialog.
Does Realtek Audio Manager see anything connected to your board?
On my picture you can see 5 jacks faded,  but one ( green) in which I have speakers connected is in full colour.
When you right-click you mouse on that jack , it has to be dedicated to 'front speaker out'.

    Hello,
    I have a MSI P67A-GD53-B3 Motherboard LGA1155 Intel P67 ATX RAID.
My CPU heatsink (Corsair H50 - requires pump control and fan control headers) fan has a four pin header (incl control). I cannot find on the board this 4 pin header for the CPU heatsink fan. Am I missing something?

  • MSI P67A-GD53 - Win 7 x64 PC Cannot Restart when OC Genie turned on

    Hi,
My PC will not reboot from Windows when OC Genie is active on my recently built PC.
The PC will power down, but does not restart again. I have to hold down the power switch to turn of the machine completely and then turn the PC back on manually.
When OC Genie is off, the issue is not present, the PC can restart from Windows as normal.
I'd like to be able to use OC Genie, but this issue makes it too much of a pain. I've read in to ACPI a bit, but it's not obvious to me how OC Genie might interfere with this.
Can I resolve this issue somehow?

Did you get a solution for this? I'm having the same problem. OC Genie seems to break Win7 64.

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3)

Sorry jack i asked you  by email and had no reply so ill ask here.
Im a new member of the MSI forum (just purchased  MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) P67 Socket 1155 ). A bit confused as im a complete novice when it comes to overclocking.
I need to ask for advice cos im in the middle of my first ever build: Haf x case, maybe i5 2500k or i7 2600k,8 gig DDR3..unsure whether to go for 2x4 gig or 4x2 gig..help! really unsure about the memory config(Dual channel MB or the full 4 slots)
Which brings me to asking .. if I just purchase DDR3-1333 and i use the genie button on this MB would i still get a stable overclock or should i opt for DDR3-1600?
I was reading up on E-Buyer about the board i purchased and 1 reviewer stated he had an i5 2500k and genied his speed to 4.2 from 3.3 just by pressing The OC genie once. Can this be achieved with DDR3 1333 ram?or should i go for 1600 DDR3 ram?
And would the motherboard automatically recognise the Ram speed or do i need to input anything in the bios?
Any Guidance would be a massive help.
    Thanks for your time
    Al
    (Naps)

what i ment in my first post was 2x4 gig 0r 4x 2 gig..cant remember where i read that post but for some reason iv got in my head that 8 gig spread across all 4 slots is better..im really messed up.lol

  • MSI p67a-gd53 (b3) Wont boot with ram in slot 1 and 3, or 2 and 4.

Hi i recently built my own system, with just one ram stick in it boots fine and everything.
When i try to put the other stick in slot for so that in runs dual channel it just wont boot, it turns on starts the fans up and then just goes off, and repeats this.
The ram i have is Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit.
It also doesnt work in slots 2 and 4, can anyone help me :(?
    My setup is :
OCZ ZS Series 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
    MSI P67A-GD53 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
MSI ATI Radeon HD 6870 OC HAWK 1024MB
    Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 4GB
    Seagate Barracuda 500gb HD
Gets no beeps on boot with just one stick in, im really confused :s
    All Help will be appreciated.

Both ram sticks worked in slot one and it would boot but I tried running a game and it froze each occasion, cud this be due to the ram being dual channel and only having one in? Or that the ram has the wrong settings.
I have returned the motherboard along with the ram to the shop i got it from for tests to see if the dimm slots had problems. Il let you guys know what they say.
Thanks for the advice, when I get it back il build it again and see if it runs fine, if not il try the things youve said.
Can anyone else shed any light on this? Any other things I may have to try?
    Thx again

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) Bios failure?

    Hello everyone,
I am in a bit of trouble, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.  I'd like to say that I've only flashed mobos a few times in the past but never had any problems until now so I'm kinda unsure with what to do.
I was getting some BSOD now and then while playing games and decided to update the BIOS etc to see if that would help fix it.  Well, I flashed from the 1.A bios (2011-03-30) to the latest one from the BIOS menu.  It got to about 98% then restarted and now it just BSOD's over and over, I'm lucky if I can get into Windows, the BSOD's are usually all sorts of different things.  I have tried flashing back to the previous BIOS but no difference - I really hope I haven't killed the board.  I've tried clearing the CMOS - made no difference.  Tried to boot from optical to reinstall Windows but it crashes before I can even get into setup . . . any ideas?
    System specs: MSI P67A-GD53, i5-2500k, Corsair XMS3 DDR3 4GBx2, GTX 470, C300 SSD, Corsair 750W PSU
    Thanks

Well, what if it is the SSD after all?  You believe or hope that it is not that, but how do you know?

That does not sound "really good" to be honest...
Test a regular hard drive.  Do you get BSODs with that, too?

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) - BSOD if 2 sticks of DRAM used in dual mode

    Hi there,
I have an issue with BSOD when using 2 sticks of DRAM when the machine is overclocked or the DRAM is set to 1333MHZ and above.
Initially I got the system up and running and over clocked using the OC Genie button on the mother board over clocking to 4.3GHZ which ran great but after a day or 2 I got
BSOD. Initially I thought this was due to an SSD failure so I brought another OCZ AGILITY 3 SSD and reinstalled windows 7 and again after a few days I got BSOD.
This time however I ran memtest at bootup and saw errors appearing. I tested each DRAM stick separately and they were error free after running memtest on each for a good few hours.
When I put both RAM sticks back in dual mode the errors appeared again. I turned off OC genie and ran the same testes on the RAM with the same results.
Now in the bios I noticed that the DRAM was set to run at 1333MHZ so I changed this to 1600MHZ (the speed on the label on the DRAM itself) and ran memtest once more which through up loads of errors. So then I changed it to 1066MHZ, ran memtest and bingo! no errors!
So now I have my machine running nicely unclocked with the DRAM running at 1066MHZ.
Thing is I want to be able to overclock my machine and discover what is causing this DRAM failure.
It would appear that there is no issue with the hardware as it all works at slower speeds.
What could be causing the BSOD when the machine is overclocked or when the DRAM is running at more than 1066MHZ?
    many thanks

You do that. For the P67 boards, the earmarked slots for 2 memory modules are 1 and 3.
The applied memory voltage may be a tad too low. You can up that to 1,575 manually.
The BIOS version is the latest for Sandy Bridge processors.
Insert only one memory module in the first slot closest to the CPU. Then do a full CMOS clear with power cord removed, and retest your system again with only the one module.
If the tests are good, then add the second module.

  • MSI P67A-GD53 (B3) in boot cycle before POST

OK, so I purchased a new Motherboard, CPU and RAM today to complete my upgrade. Having installed everything, I hit the power button, machine turns on... then off after about 4 seconds, before POST, then on again, then off again, repeat ad nauseum until I unplug or flick the power switch on the PSU.
I took everything apart again, put the MB onto of the box (to rule out the chances of it shorting on the case) and plugged in the power, with just the CPU (and fan) and RAM in place. Same thing happens. Tried taking out the RAM, exact same thing.
Nothing has been done to any part yet, this is all out of box spec:
    MSI P67A-GD53 (B3)
    Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9  (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
    Enermax ELT620AWT  +3.3V@28A, +5V@32A, +12V1@22A, +12V2@22A, [email protected], +5VSB@3A
    Intel i5 2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155
Obviously I've got graphics card, HDDs etc, but none of those are plugged in, for the purposes of troubleshooting. All that's connected is the above. I've tried booting with no RAM installed, same thing happens. I've got access to an old internal 2 pin speaker, scavenged from a buggered HP work PC to try and get a beep code, but I can't see where I'd connect it on this MB.
Is the MB fluffed out of the box, or could it be something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It needs to be connected to the JFP2-Pin Header (check user manual, page 2-14 for pin definitions).
Just to make sure:  Have you connected the 4/8 pin +12V CPU power connector to the mainboard (in addition to the 24-Pin ATX connector)?
Also:  Have you unplugged your PSU from A/C power and >>Cleared CMOS<< at any point?
Have you inspected the board's CPU socket for bent/broken pins?
Thanks, I'll give that a try.
    Yep
    Yep
I've eye-balled it but they're pretty small, so it's hard to tell, but it'd be pretty difficult to bend them as the CPU only fits in one way.

  • MSI P67A-GD53 Not POSTing

    Hi y'all,
Just bought an MSI P67a-GD53 (B3) Motherboard as part of a new build. The rest of the system is as follows
    Intel Core i5 2500k
    2 x 2GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz RAM
    MSI Twin Frozr GTX560Ti
Antec Trupower 650W Modular Power Supply
    Crucial RealSSD 64GB
    Thermaltake Fri CPU Cooler
The problem I'm having is the system won't POST at all. When I plug in and power up all the fans (CPU,System & GPU) spin up, all the CPU Phase LEDs light up and remain lit but the monitor displays "No Signal" and there are no beeps from the internal speaker. I have tried with both sticks of RAM in the primary slot (the blue one closest to the cpu) and I've tried booting with CPU only, CPU + RAM only, CPU + RAM + GPU  only.... all giving me exactly the same problem.
All power cords are correctly connected, I've tried breadboarding the whole thing to ensure there are no short circuits. The only time it does anything different is when i leave the 8-PIN CPU power connector unplugged, in which case only the first CPU phase LED lights up and all the fans spin up for approx 4 secs before powering down, then  powering back on again and repeating until I cut the power.
    Any bright ideas?

He doesn't have HDMI/DVI on the P67, but, you may be on the right track as far as monitor is involved. Which model monitor is used?
    Sorry, read P67, thought Z68.

I cannot get sound through my laptop speakers ever since I used an external digital speaker.  Cannot seem to switch back to lap top speakers in my SYSTEM PREFERENCES...only showing DIGITAL out put option

    Hi there Lutostan,
It sounds like you have disconnected the digital audio speakers from your MacBook Pro but all you have available in your audio settings. Take a look at this info from the following article named:

    Hello Michelle,
I would be concerned too if the speaker on my iPhone was not working.  I found an article with some steps to take when you are experiencing issues like this.
I recommend reviewing the full article, but step 2 specifically stood out to me for the issue you are experiencing:
    2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.

  • Cannot get sound through my surround sound tv - only pictures - sound works fine through tv speakers - why is this?

Apple TV is working for pictures and sound via my television speakers but I cannot get sound via my surround sound speakers with HDMI or an Optical Lead.
Anyone care to advise me what I may have done wrong in the connections?

If you have connected your TV by HDMI via your receiver and you get sound from your TV but not your receiver then the problem must lie within your receiver or its settings. Check the manual to ensure you have selected the correct settings for it.
