Typically this error is because of a race condition in the Explorer.exe process, normally caused by system corruption or offending software.
Some antivirus applications and some print applications use notification balloons to display messages. These applications may cause a race condition. Therefore, the Explorer.exe process crashes. So we could check this issue under clean boot or safe mode
in Windows 8.1. If issue persists under clean boot, we could try to disable all antivirus and turn off Aero Theme (using basic theme) for good measure.
Keep your system and device driver up to date.
Fix Windows corruption errors by using the DISM or System Update Readiness tool

    Hi,
Please upload the dump file to a public folder such as OneDrive, then paste the download link here for further analyzing.
Have you installed any third party tool which might be related with Explorer in your system? if you have, please uninstalled it as a test.
Windows Explorer crashes are mostly caused by an incompatible Shell Extension.
You can run tool ShellExView to find the culprit, in the pane sort the entries with manufacturers. Disable all non-Microsoft *.dll files, and check the result. If the issue does not occur, one of the files can be the culprit. We could narrow down it one by
    one.

  • This application requires version 6.3.9600.16384 of the Windows ADK. Windows 8.1 PRO OEM

    Hi,
i am trying to sysprep a machine and i need to create the unattended xml file.I downloaded the Windows ADK for Windows 8.1 (update) and need to generate the answer file.Whenever i select the "install.wim" file from my Windows dvd (copied
to a writeable destination) , it gives me an error  : "This application requires version 6.3.9600.16384 of the Windows ADK." .
I already found a forum post regarding this issue (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/69cd6ddd-fab6-4986-bd70-52ce894f37c2/creating-unattendxml-for-windows-8?forum=mdt)
, saying that the Windows ADK for 8.1 PREVIEW is needed but this link is removed from the website.
Can i still download this version somewhere or what is the solution?I already tried to slip in some update packages in the wim file (following this link :  https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn622020.aspx
) but no result, it seems that the version installed on my machine is not compatible with the newest 8.1 ADK.
I already tried to sysprep the machine with /oobe /generalize /shutdown (without an unattend xml file) , but when i reboot the system i get an error "windows could not parse or process the unattend answer file for
pass [specialize]. a component or non-list settings is specified more than once in the answer file".
What is the solution for this problem ?
    F.

The link you presented above is a mess.
The idea of going back to the "PREVIEW" version of the ADK makes no sense to me, unless.. you are running a preview version. Which is silly.
Please be aware that there are *DIFFERENT* sub-build versions of the Windows 8.1. My version of the ntoskrnl.exe shows build 6.3.9600.17630.
Please be aware that there are also different versions of the Windows 8.1 ADK. If you are unsure if you have the latest version, please uninstall the ADK, and download again from MSFT.

  • MSI N550GTX-Ti Cyclone OC GeForce GTX 550 Ti physical dimensions

    Hi
I am trying to see if I can fit this card to my small box, which is Dell Inspiron 570 http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp560mt/en/sm/sysboard.htm#wp1181576. Physical dimensions of the board are very tight, so I need more detailed physical dimensions of MSI N550GTX-Ti Cyclone OC GeForce GTX 550 Ti, 210x140x35 mm is not enough, is this information actually exists? Preliminary measurements shows that there is the possibility to fit this card, however the fan shroud (and fan itself) might be overlapping with mobo heatsinks.
Appreciate in advance for any info.

Thanks both of you for replies.
Presale form did not produced any good response, so I did paper 1-dimension model 1:1 scale and actually placed into PCI slot (bottom heatsink is actually rises above PCI slot about 3-4 mm, this made me worried), I liked the result and I already bought and installed this card (I took my PC to the store and tried right after the purchase, so I could return if no fir). As I was expecting card fit nicely, however Dell's craftsmanship getting worse and worse - I had to bent a few security pins at the back holder.
So, yes, this card fits perfect into Inspiron 570, fan shroud riches about half way over lower heatsink, but it has plenty of room in between, SATA ports are available. At idle this card is silent, at load don't know yet.
    Thanks.

  • MSI K8TNEO2-F version 1.0 HT SPeed question

    COMPUTER SPECIFICATION
    MSI K8TNEO2-F version 1.0 Mobo

    KINGSTON DDR 400 - 512 MB
    INNO2D FX5500 Video Card
    40 GIG Maxtor
    52X CDROM
I got a question regarding the bios setting, I found out on the AMD website that the HT SPEED for my ATHLON 64 3000+ was 2000, i got counfused with the data, my boards highest HT setting is 1000 only, i set it to 1000 HT SPEED, and 200 FSB, so igot 1800 speed, it works fine, no problems encountered yet.
Can my board support the HT SPEED 2000 if i will flash my bios to a newer version.
    Can anyone help me please!
                                                                                                                                 [email protected]

That is simply a misprint. A64 HT speedss are either 800 or 1000 depending on the chip. The MB has little to do with it.

  • Z77A-GD65 + MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053) = FAN speed control issue

    OK,
I've got Z77A-GD65 board and I am using MSI Control Center (version 2.5.053). I have one fan connected to CPU fan header and another fan connected to System Fan1 header on the motherboard. The problem is that while trying to use Smart fan control in MSI Control Center (under Green Power tab) only CPU fan changes speed according to load and the one connected to System Fan1 always stays at the same "System Fan1 Min" set speed. In BIOS the system fan1 is set to auto as all other options are constant speed from 50% to 100%, both fans have 4 wires, so they can change speed. I want both fans to change speed according to CPU load. I know I can use Y (split) cable to connect both fans to the same CPU fan header but I would like to avoid this if possible.
Anybody experiencing the same thing? Issue with bios? Control center bug?

As long as the amps of the two fans doesn't exceed the limit for the CPU fan header, go ahead and use a splitter. Not positive, but believe the fan header amp limit is 1A?

  • [VIA] MSI 6382 v1 mainboard, & Nvidia GeForce 4 Ti4400 AGP

I'm having a problem with this setup. I was using a GeForce 3 Ti200 on this board, but I just upgraded my main PC to a GF 6600GT from a GF4 Ti4400, and wanted to pass the GF4 to the MS 6382 v1 PC. I went ahead, and removed the drivers from the system using Driver Cleaner PE first, then I removed the GF3, and installed the GF4. I can't get any video now. The system boots up fine into WinXP without any error beeps, but I never get any thing to showup on the monitor. Not even the mainboards bootup display.
The sytstem works fine with the GF3 card. The PSU is enough as I was using it on my main (more power hungry) PC when I was still using the GF4 with it. Does anyone know if there is a compatability problem between the MSi 6382 v1 mainboard, and the Nvidia GF4 Ti GPU?

Quote from: osnavi on 13-May-05, 20:51:46
Wow ! As you said. More than enough power.  Only thing that you don't say youv'e done is to run PC  with GF 3 and set all AGP selections in Bios at default, or clear CMOS,  to see if GF 4 can run.
Well. I tried setting the default BIOS settings, and booting the PC with only the GF4 Ti4400, and it still won't work. At best I only get garbled lines, if I get a display at all. However. I must admit that the MS 6382 v1 board is capable of running a videocard more powerful than a GF3.
Today, my GF 6600GT in my FIC board just stopped displaying. In the middle of web surfing, my system froze, and the display went black. On reboot, all I got was a "no video" beep signal. I tried reseating the card, the VGA cable, and the power donggle on the back of the card, and still no signal. I popped out the GF 6600GT, and inserted the GF4 Ti4400. It worked fine, so I decided to see if the 6600GT would boot in the MS 6382 v1 board. I removed the GF3, and installed the 6600GT, and the thing booted fine. Didn't try booting into WinXP though. I only booted to a DOS floppy, but it seems that the MS 6382 v1 doesn't like the GF4 Ti, or at least the PNY version of it. Anyway, I reinstalled the 6600GT back into the FIC board, and it seems to be working fine now. Have no idea why it quit like that, but I hope it doesn't happen again.
I'm not gona sweat the GF4 Ti4400 not working in my MS 6382 v1 board as I'm gona upgrade to an Athlon64 AGP system later this year. I'll run the 6600GT in it, and run the GF4 Ti4400 in the FIC board as a second system. I'll pass the MS 6382 v1 with the GF3 onto my brother.

  • MSI Official drivers NVIDIA all GeForce series

    Hello all,
I'm new to this forum & my question is -
I have an MSI NX6800GT-TD256 graphic card (mine must be one of the early ones - hasn't got a fan speed switch)
I am using the NVIDIA VGA Driver 82.65 for Win XP/2000 (Update Date 2006-01-16)
And I wonder if I should be using  "newer" -
NVIDIA VGA Driver 82.12                        (Update Date 2006-02-07)
This info can be seen at -
    http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=130&prod_no=728
You may be wondering what's your problem?
I was under the impression that driver version numbers went up not down.
I know that the "newer driver" is of a later date, but I still wonder....   about the version number also the download for the "newer" is smaller not larger.
You may also think why doesn't he go to the NVIDIA website & download much newer drivers.
Well along time ago when I bought my first graphic card - a Hercules 3D Prophet DDR-DVI (32 mb with NVIDIA GeForce 256 GPU) I was told by the manufacturer that although the standard NVIDIA drivers would work, I would get better results using the card manufacturer's version of that same driver. (It having been tweaked to run better with their card).
My son has the same MSI  graphic card as mine (later version - with switch) & he tried a later version from the NVIDIA website & had problems, & he went back to using 82.65 & everything worked fine.
So after all the above waffle of mine, can someone who really knows the answer to my question tell me -
     82.12 or 82.65 ?
Thank you for reading this & for any help you can give.

    Hi pacnow,
Re flash the card which comes with 823MHz with BIOS attached below.
    How to:
    Create a USB key bootable
How to make USB key bootable: http://www.bay-wolf.com/usbmemstick.htm
Then get attached file, and extract & copy all files nvflash.exe, CWSDPMI.EXE and 103.rom
    to the USB key.
Then reboot the computer and boot from the bootable USB key,
when you see A:\ or C:\ type:
    nvflash.exe -b old.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, this will backup/save your current VBIOS.
Then flash the new VBIOS with:
    nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 103.rom [ENTER]
Wait process to finish, then reboot the machine and you're done

check Amperage on +12V rails (you sum up 2 rails)
Simply adding the amperage values if there are multiple +12V rails is not the right approach to determine the maximal amperage limits for all +12V rails. You cannot simply sum up the two rails.  On many PSUs, the combined amperage limit is significantly lower than the sum of the individual rails.  Look at this example for instance:
If you add the amperage values on both rails together, you get 34A.  However, the limit for both +12V rails (as stated on the PSU sticker) is 250W which can be broken down to  250W / 12V ~ 20.8A.  So what we have here is a 20.8A limit on a +12V rail that is split into two individual rails that each have their own amperage limit.  You can put 16A or 18A load on the individual rails, but not more that ~20A combined load on both.  That means that if the system draws 15A from one of the rails, only ~5A are left for the other one.

He did not mention which model he is referring to, so I am not sure if I checked the correct specs.  Here is a link to the Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 400W (RS-400-PCAR/PCAP-A3) for comparison:
    http://www.coolermaster.com/products/product.php?language=en&act=detail&tbcate=22&id=3765
As you can see, we have two +12V rails (16A/18A) and a combined limit aif 280W [280W / 12V ~ 23A] ... not 16A + 18A = 34A(!).  Of course 23A could be be enough to power a core 2 duo and a 9600GT but we are most probably approaching the limit of the PSU here.  He did not mention the number of optical drives, hard drives and fans connected to the system.  Each of these devices is powered by the +12V rails as well and will have their share of resources.
