At last, a clear answer from MSI, after 6 months of waiting
MSI Prescott CPU Support List (FSB800, 1M L2)

Intel® 875P 875P Neo-LSR/-FIS2R AMI 1.8 YES

Intel® 865PE 865PE Neo2-S/-LS/-FIS2R AMI 1.9 YES

Intel® 865PE 865PE Neo2-S/-LS/-FIS2R AMI 1.9  YES
I guess Intel has the final samples with the manufacturers ...
Now to save up for the CPU upgrade, the probable PSU upgrade, probably a better HSF or CPU cooling system, memory, etc...
But how can I test my system upgrade readiness before the 1 yr warranty expires?

  • FM2-A75IA-E53 CPU supported list is missing

I read the subject about how to know the CPU supported by the Motherboards but in the case of FM2-A75IA-E53 motherboard there is no SUPPORT -> CPU SUPPORT in the product page.

I think (hope) they are revamping them because they are definatly missing.
Contact msi for this information for now.

  • CPU Support List for MoDT boards

    Hi!
I can't find such info on the site and support staff seems to be too busy to answer me.
Anybody knows full lists of CPUs compatible with the following boards: 945GT Speedster-A4R, 915GM Speedster-FA4?
I'd like to buy a cheap used CPU but I need to know for sure what CPUs are supported.
    Thanks.

Thank you, but actually this is the kind of information that can be found on the site as well. It gives some clue, however is not a CPU compatibility list. Core names are not official and are never mentioned on Intel site. Today, normally CPU compatibility list would include processor #s and required PCB and BIOS revisions.
915GM Speedster-FA4 has been designed for Centrino.
    http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/915GM/index.htm
945GT Speedster-A4R has been designed for  Core Duo (478 pin)

Both of them are old enough, so don't worry about BIOS revisions and other similar things.

  • G60-519WM motherboard bus speed, CPU support list

I was given this laptop in 12/2010.  It of course has the celeron 900 in it with an 800 MHz fsb.  My question is what bus speeds does the mobo support and where can I find a list of supported CPUs.  The only semi-reliable info I found suggested upgrading the cpu with a t9600 that has a 1066 MHz fsb.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the Maintenance & Service Guide for your notebook.

Supported processors are listed in Chapter 1, starting on page 1-1.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook...
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01550108.pdf
Chapter 1, page 1 shows the list of supported processors.
I am concerned that the processor you have is not listed in the manual.
If the motherboard in your notebook has the Intel PM45 chipset (which it should), it can support one of the listed processors that has a 1066 MHz FSB.

  • DKA790GX(7550 Standard) Bios 1.2 & CPU Support

    Hi All,
Im new here and currently in the middle of a build, my MB is a DKA790GX with a 1.2 bios and i currently have a AMD Phenom II X4 945 CPU. I no i cannot use the CPU with the current bios version and i need 1.9 minium to get it fully supported by the mainboard.
The main question is what CPU's are already fully supported by the current bios i have(1.2), as MSI's CPU support list has no CPU that will work on 1.2 as far as i could see and the minium CPU i could see needs bios version 1.4.
I tied updating the bios with no luck as the MB+CPU combo wont even boot off a CD/DVD or USB to update the bios or even boot the WinXP cd i have to try using the Live Update feature once XP was installed, all try just lean to a "Press ESC To Boot" then a black screen. So i guessing nothing will boot til i get an already supported CPU to update the bios to use the Phenom II i want to use.
If anyone can help it would be very appriciated
    thanks Pep

yeah sorry about that, currently have attached
    4GB(2x2GB) Kingston KVR800D2N6/G2 PC2 - 6400 CL6

    SATA Maxtor 6B200M0 200GB HDD(Testing Purposes)
Everything else is onboard, graphics, audio etc...
    Quote
If you get that message it DOES boot!
you would think so but after ESC is pressed 1 ram beep is sounded then loads to a black screen, the CD/DVD drive spins up to signify activity but nothing happens same with USB booting, the LED on the USB stick flashes to signify read/write activity but nothing happens and yes its a proper ligit WinXP bootable cd and the USB is also bootable with the bios 1.9 update and flash utility oin it as ive checked them on the current PC im using now and both boot up fine from the boot menu and preselected boot order.
is there a chance if could be a faulty main board even tho is brand or just needing a fully supported CPU to be able to boot CD/DVD and or USB

  • MSI Media Live cpu support

Hi I don't seem to be able to find the CPU support table for the MSI media Live, all the links I have followed go to 404.
I have tried the motherboard model numbers MS-7329 and MS-6421, bit nowhere is the info available. :(
I am hoping to fit a 4850e, but will I need to flash the bios with another CPU first?

Plus any recommendations on a replacement Heatsink and fan.
You do not need to replace the cooling system, it is designed specifically for this custom form factor, and provided you use a suitable CPU (hence why I have requested the CPU list be restored) it is perfectly adequate for the task.
One modification you might want to try, which both myself and Bas have already done, is to reverse the fan itself, so it is blowing upwards, rather than downwards onto the heatsink. This is simple enough to do, the top plastic cover just clips off from the heatsink, and the fan can just be removed and placed upside down.
This has the advantage of 'sucking' heat away from the radiator and out the top of the case, rather than 'pushing' the heat inside the rest of the Media Live itself. Obviously, make sure the top cover of the Media Live is well ventilated itself.

  • MSI Motherboard, Cpu, Heatsink/Fan

    Hello everyone !!
Im not to familiar with these forum help lines so Bear with me.
I have a "MSI K9NBPM2-FID" Mobo and I am looking into a Cpu "AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ Brisbane 2.8GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core black edition Processor Model ADO5400DSWOF". This does not come with a Fan/Heatsink, so I am looking into a "Thermaltake / Blue Orb 2 / Socket 775/939/940 CPU Cooling Fan for Intel and AMD Processors".
Will these combonation work together or is modification in my near future?
I read thru the MSI Cpu support listing for my Mobo, and I seen the 5400 in there, but that was not a Black Version. I have also seen listing were my Mobo only accepts Cpu's up to 5200+ ! I'm Kinda lost with that !
That leads me to another question, If yall dont mind. That list tells me what is compatiable with my Mobo. I need to consider the Cpu's with "SINCE 5.8" in the result row right ?
Hope this is Clear enough !!!
I was wandering around these forums and it seems you people know your STUFF! Hope this is a good question.  Just a modify after my post.

I would send my info to MSI but my Rig is in the shop right now. I dont know all the info that MSI wants. I can only fill 1/3 of the info requirements. If your wondering why my Rig is in the shop it is because I had a hard drive fail while under RAID 0. It  Sucks
My pics, music, game files, are in the process of extracting, but it is SLOW !! it has been 42 days now and I am shoping around for new and exciting stuff to kill my time. Seems like jail time, not that I have been there before.

  • MSI KM4M CPU Question

    Hi,
Does anyone know what is the fastest cpu MSI KM4M (I think its KM4M-L) motherboard can handle.  In the manual its says "AMD Athlon XP Sempron 3000+ @ 166 FSB (for KM4M)"
I'm not sure whats "3000+" means.  Is it 3GH or something else.
    Thanks.

    KM4M-L CPU support list:
    http://eu.msi.com/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&maincat_no=1&prod_no=558#menu
The fastest CPU supported is the AMD Athlon XP3000+ Barton core 333FSB.
    Quote
I'm not sure whats "3000+" means.  Is it 3GH or something else.
Its the 'performance rating' of the CPU, not its actual speed. Back in the day, AMD used this 'performance rating' to compare against Intel Pentium 4 CPUs, so the XP3000+, although having an actual clock speed of 2166mhz (2.2ghz), was equivalent in performance to a Pentium 4 3.0ghz. Sempron/Duron CPUs PR was compared against Intel Celeron.

  • B85M-G43 CPU Support

Hi all I'm thinking to buy mobo B85M-G43 along with celeron g1820.
The problem is that in CPU support list there is no celerons but in spec page I see this
    Supports 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 / Core™ i5 / Core™ i3 / Pentium® / Celeron® processors for LGA 1150 socket
It is intresting because all other mobos with b85 seems to have celeron suppot in official msi cpu list.
If there is some tech guy form msi in this forum could you check this?
And if this mobo doesn't support this cpu what all you could recommend with similar price and features?
    Thanks

  • K9A2-CF CPU Support update

    Hi!
Have read a lot of post stating that the K9A2-CF has to be V2 to cope with a high wattage CPU.
Not being sure what to think of this since MSI now have only one list for CPU support stating that all CPU's are supported now, I contacted MSI support and got the information that my K9A2-CF can handle them.
Searched some more and only found the V2 in US. In Europe and Global sites there is no such MB just the "simple" K9A2-CF.
Just wanted to do an update on it since I've seen no other mentioning about it. (I might have missed it if there is, searched through the forum though without finding any)

That 'CPU Support List' is for the K9A2 CF V2 only, eliminate any 125W on the list for the V1 MB. If your MB does not have K9A2 CF V2 like in this pic do not use 125W or highly OCd 95W CPU. Read the thread that Russ-xp has the link to. It was a bad idea for MSI to sweep the V1 under the carpet and hide it like it never existed. Doing that for sure is going to end up with more dead V1 MBs for people that don't have the sense to ask about it like you have. I guess they'll just replace the V1 with the V2 under warranty when needed and leave it at that but that's just my way of thinking. The earliest V2s had a sticker like this in the pic.
So, what the support team have told me is wrong? That's the only conclusion I can come to since I do NOT have the above mentioned sticker on my board.
Have once again contacted the support team, waiting for response now.
Thx for the replies, actually missed that post by aardvark0
