MSI PVS - Windvr for Vista

Hi there,
Installed the drivers for my MSI TV@nywhere Master from the latest set found here. I then installed the MSI PVS software that came in the CD and ...  :( it just crashes in Windows Vista!  What do I do now?  Is there a Windvr software for Vista?  Is there some free alternative that works with Vista!
Presuming the answer is all NO would MSI release a compatible software for vista soon?  If its "NO" again, I'm doomed ... will have second thoughts on buying MSI products!  Just bought the MSI P965 Neo Mobo and am very pleased ... no problems at alll as mentioned in the Mobo forum!
Thanks & Cheers!

I also have "Tv@nywhere Master". And yes the Xp drivers that are on its bundled CD can be installed on Windows Vista Ultimate (and I think other vista editions) very nice and smoothly. I installed the bundled cd drivers. since I liked them more than latest on official msi website. I don't remember my problem with the latest ones. And since that I use the drivers that came on the bundled cd with this hardware.
I installed Xp drivers with no problem. What I like about it so much is that I did Not use executable files on cd to install it. I just pointed to the right folder and Vista recognized and installed them smoothly.I feel a real windows driver doesn't much need executable files. But I am not sure. as I said I feel it should be like that around 90% sure.
And yes. The problem was the software (Intervideo Msi PVS) which crashes.
And I used a very nice software. and I could use the card very well. It worked with all input sources. Composite, Tuner. I don't remember s-video. but I think it works with that ,too. (Currently I don't have vista. I plan to buy it later some months later. I just installed it to make a list of needed things to do for migrating to that new nice operating system later . And thus trying to make TV@nywhere Master to work. And interestingly I succedded  ).
As I read on Microsoft Website,I think. Lots of windows XP drivers are compatible with Windows Vista. Since their technologies (when it comes to driver of some devices) are simillar in some aspects. And windows 7 is also simillar in some aspects to windows Vista as I read again in Microsoft website. So I think the Tv@nywhere Master will work on that ,too. I will check with windows 7 beta and update this post later.
And now the name of software I used,it was "AMCap". I am really impressed that despite of being so little in size that program is much advanced and works so much fine.I feel it's a real windows software. and so compatible with it.It is uptodated since I tested it. But I think the new version of it will also work. I will check it again and update this post. I am going to test vista again some weeks later. and one of things I will test is this software on vista.
Right now that I am writing this post you can find "AMCap" on this website : www.noeld.com
Very proffessional software.
I didn't check ChrisTv. But I downloaded it. I will also test it and update this post about it ,too.
For now.Bye.

  • No use for tuner - Is MSI PVS necessary?

I have decided not to use the TV tuner on my TV@nyshere-Master card.  Do I need to have MSI PVS installed for other capture programs to work off the composite or SVHS inputs?
Can the Radio be installed without the TVtuner part of the software?
I have basically gotten everything to work but the PVS software caused some problems.  It seems that WinDVD Creator which came with my card works well and is more stable, though it does not seem to have the many compression parameters that  PVS has.
Is there any other capture software that can be recommended?
It seems, except for the PVS software, this card is quite good.  I just want to use it as a capture card for analog video!
    Any suggestions appreciated,
    Thanks,
    BMann

The card works great as long as you don`t use MSIPVS.
for the radio all you need is MSIRadio and as long as you don`t use the tuner any capture program works. It`s the tuner that is more problematic as only some progs can work with it.
I personally use it with VirtualVCR and the DScaler DirectShow deinterlacer plugin and capture over Composite / SVHS is great. The image from the tuner is good but depends very much on the signal.

  • MSI PVS Installation Problems

Hi. Yesterday I put together all the parts of my MEGA 865. All parts appear to be working fine and most of the software was installed without any problems. The only problem I'm having is with getting the MSI PVS software to install. When I try to install it a loading screen for the program does appear but then nothing after that. After a few minutes of waiting for something to happen I closed the setup program using task manager, when I did this I got the message:
    Setup failed to run installation:
    The remote procedure call failed
Sorry if a solution to this has already been posted, I did look but couldnt see anything.
    Thanks

your windows xp has been installed to drive F:
there is another thread which details this topic and how to temporarily disable the card reader elsewhere
install windows xp to drive c: and msipvs will install perfectly

That may be correct, but my old Mustek 1200UB scanner is currently working flawlessly in Windows 7 using Windows XP drivers. There were never any drivers made for Vista for it.
I got one of those scanners too!

  • Wrong IDE Driver for Vista

The MS Vista SiS IDE Drivers posted for the MB "655 Max HT Ready" @ here:
    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=424&kind=1
    ... ARE WRONG!!!
Actually the driver version is vR2.03 which was created to be compatible with Win2000/XP BUT NOT VISTA!.
Do not dare to install that driver on ur MB, once it's installed it will KILL ur OS (MS Vista). You wont even be able to access the OS in safe mode, it continues throwing a BSOD that appears some micro-seconds then it reboots automatically the system.
The people on charge of posting the drivers should be extra careful be4 posting them. It could lead a person to loose all his/her info by only trusting in the drivers posted @ manufacturer's OFFICIAL SITE!
THESE DRIVERS SHOULD BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY!! (before it causes more serious damages in people's systems).

Quote from: tcsenter on 02-March-07, 08:18:53
Well the driver date is clearly labeled 2002, which ought to have raised a little curiosity or suspicion by any observant person.
You are totally right also. But that date is refered clearly to the OS stated in the info (OS: Win2000/XP)... so could be the case that by some reason they forgot to clarify the different version for "the 1 released" for Vista.
In addition, as u can check in a glance, the size of both files is different, which could lead to reinforce my previous theory (they forgot to clarify the driver version for the 1 released for Vista).
Quote from: tcsenter on 02-March-07, 08:18:53
There is no IDE driver available that is newer than the one already included in Vista for your SIS chipset.
Yea unfortunately, I discovered that after damaging my OS. But fortunately I had backed up the OS (by creating an image).
I mainly created this thread for saving other's people work/life/files ... since I was already saved!

  • Msi pvs does not see my vox usb tv tuner

my friend gave me a vox usb tv tuner so i installed the driver and the msi pvs software but the pvs software says "cannot detect device...."
anyone know wat i could do about this????

First of all the vox usb tv tuner will operate on Xp home SP2.
If you open the device manager, then Sound, video and game controllers you will probably see that USB2820 has been installed.
You must have MSI MS8609 Video installed as MSI PVS or MSI PVS 3 will only talk to the drive of this name.
Both drivers are provided by eMPIA technology and maybe the vox identifies itself as USB2820.
You will notice I posted the same problem a few days ago.
A partial solution I found was to uninstall USB2820 drivers and install the MSI MS8609 Video driver.  I have not been able to install the driver of 2005 as found on the
MSI site but can install the 2004 version that came with my vox CD.  The partial solution is the schedule/record function of MSI PVS 3 does not work with this driver so
I must run MSP PVS for the schedule/record function.

  • MSI PVS Software Install problem

    Hi,
I'm having a problem installing the MSI PVS software...When I start 'SETUP' the Intervideo PVS screen starts, all activity stops for about 4 seconds, and then an error message appears: 'Setup can't continue, RPC call failed / RPC can't start' (rough translation, original message is in Dutch).
    Anyone seen this before ?
Other software installs without a problem, no viruses (Norton Antivirus Latest edition and updates), no Blaster worm related RPC thingy. Blaster removal tool couldn't find anything...
Radio part and soft works fine, WinDVR3 demo version installs without a problem...and TV part is functional. No remote functionality though.
Any suggestions to get the original soft working ?
    System: Win XP Pro SP1
    AMD Athlon 2000+
    CSE K7S6A motherboard, no overclocking
    512 Mb DDR
    40 Gig IBM HD
    Hercules Radeon 8500LE 64 Mb
    2x LAN Network card
    TV@nywhere MSI
    Nokia 17'' monitor
    Sound Blaster Live

my suggestion is ... Dont bother
just use Girder and the msiremote plugin for the remote (I do and it works great )
for capture I use VirtualVCR - freeware and full sourcecode available

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT driver for Vista x64

    Hello,
I have an issue with my new MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz 17" that was released on the 5th of June, 2007.
It has NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT installed on it and I simply cannot find Vista 64 bit drivers for it.
I have tried the latest beta Vista x64 drivers (163.11) downloaded from nVidia's official website. I have tried several previous versions including 100.97 one, which contains drivers for 8600M GT model. But they don't work with me. All the driver installation programs allert the following error and quit:
'The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit'.
I also tried Vista 32-bit drivers for 8600M GT. The driver installation program claims the operation system is wrong and quits.
    Anybody has the same issue?
Does a working driver of nVidia GeForce 8600M GT for Vista x64 exist at all?
MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz   Windows Vista   nVidia GeForce 8600M GT

There was one Apple's presentstion where they boot into Windows Vista. So if you claim you can do it why do you forget about Vista x64 customers? I reckon it is because of Leopard that is coming. But it's not an excuse.
I'm currently working in Vista x64 and everything is fine except one thing, I cannot find a working graphics card driver and it is manufacturer's responsibility to provide it. Apple knew there going to be customers who will install Vista x64 on their computers and they at Apple didn't care about it because I guess it's a lame war between you know who.
So why you don't make everything perfect to attract even more Windows customers but instead you hint that you don't care about Vista x64 as you are getting your own 64-bit OS soon. So now they are forcing me to wait having been announced that I can use Vista. But isn't that kind of lame that it's slightly tardy? Why I should wait for Leopard launch if I was insured that Windows will work on my Macbook Pro? Because Apple claim you can run Windows. And don't say it's not official. Who else if not Apple made it possible to run Windows on Mac.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult you. I'm just angry that I cannot find a working driver.

  • Can someone help me find a workaround to get flash to work in XP Pro 64 bit, like there is a workaround for vista 64 bit?

Can someone help me find a workaround to get flash to work in XP Pro 64 bit, like there is a workaround for vista 64 bit?
I am trying to get rid of all my 32 bit apps because the more of them you run in 64 bit the less resources are available.
Firefox has a 64 bit browser they call the Shiretoko build. I love it, it's twice as fast as a heavily tweaked 32 bit firefox. Java has a 64 bit plugin that works with it.
    The last holdout is Adobe.
Microsoft is making Vista and Win 7 64 bit as easy and smooth as the 32 bit versions as a means to get people to start using them.
Linux has a way to make flash work with 64 bit.
Remember when we all had a 16 bit operating system and how much better things got with 32 bit?
Adobe, it's time!.. don't you see that?
Can someone help me solve my problem? Please?

I just want a good sound card mounted into my computer...

no the audigy 2 zs is pci based. they have another called audigy 2 zs notebook and that's the one for laptop. if you can't find it from your vendor, you can always try getting it from someone else.

  • Vista 64 Treo 600 Sync Solution that should also work for Vista 32

Ok Here is a partial solution for a Treo 600 (Bell) with Vista 64 (along with my Treo 755p TELUS)
I recently purchased an Acer with Vista 64 to replace a XP machine that was having increasing hardware failures. I did not know at the time there was no support for Vista 64 and that Palm had only released a Vista 32 desktop the week before.
I managed to install the Vista 32 bit desktop software on my Vista 64 machine with no error messages but when I tried to install my Treo 755p I found out about the lack of Palm USB Vista 64 drivers
Insert Palm wasting time on Folio instead of Treo driver support rant @#!%!#%^^!#^@^@!%#!!!!!!! (I know it should be longer but most of it has been said before) Ok back to business.
    Treo 755p
On the Palm forums I found the instructions for getting a Treo 755p to sync via Bluetooth
I followed the instruction and purchased a Blue Tooth USP key (Oh and I tried the Kensington - Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter first...^$%^@@^@^!!!!! before I found the Iogear USB Bluetooth 2.0 Class 1 Wireless Adapter which works fine and is the only one I would recommend) I now have my Treo 755p working with Vista 64 with only one error message (I'll get back to it later)
    Treo 600
I was not impressed with the fact that this device had not support at all from Palm for Vista (32 or 64) $#%^!%!^@^@^%@ (ok I feel better)
I found a suggestion from a UK site that mentioned you could sync a Treo 600 via IR and even suggested the correct IR USB unit to buy (SITECOM CN-100)
    http://www.sitecom.com/product.php?productname=USB+to+fast+IrDA+adapter&productcode=CN-100&productid...
Unfortunately that particular IR USP reader is only sold in the UK. So I took a chance and ordered a "Cables Unlimited USB IRDA Adapter tem Number: C250-1160 (about $17.00 Cdn). It arrived a few days later and it installed on my Vista 64 machine immediately without requesting any "driver disk" I followed the instruction from Palm on how to set up a USB Sync and tried to sync. The Vista machine identified the Palm and was willing to work but the Palm desktop and active sync was not responding. I reread the IR instructions and it requires you to complete a USB sync first (@!#$!$#%!^%!#%~%!!!!!!!)
So I took a night to think about it. My only solution I could think about was to see if I could fake out the Palm desktop / sync software. I fired up the old XP device and copied the user profile for the Treo 600 and copied it into the correct location on the new Vista 64 machine. I tried IR sync and low and behold it worked. (Oh and an IR Sync takes a very, very long time) After the first sync I received a few errors, my Documents to Go files were in new locations, some calendar and memos were duplicated all were very minor. I manually fixed those errors and then completed IR Sync and the Treo 600 now works with a Vista 64.
Of course this solution only works providing you have access to your old Profile, but I figure if you been using a Treo 600 you probably not a new user. If your completing a totally new install on Vista I would suggest find a XP machine install it on it and complete sync, then copy that profile to the Vista machine.
    Treo 755p Back up Error
The one error I received was it was unable to back up this file PmTraceDatabase
The message read: “Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened. (4004)
    -SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN”
I looked for this file in my profile on the old XP machine and was unable to locate it, but I noticed they the Treo 600 didn't have this message when I copied over the entire profile, I tried to do the same with my Treo 755p profile but the error did not go away. So after researching the Palm Forums I found this simple solution
    http://forums.palm.com/palm/board/message?board.id=windows_hotsync&message.id=28291&query.id=134275#...
So now that I have spent the last 3 weeks trying to get both of our Palms working with Vista 64 I figure the 64 bit USB drivers should be available any day now.......oh and I'm now hating Vista less......
Post relates to: Treo 600 (Bell Mobility)

Used Cables unlimited IrDA wireless Bridge....followed instructions...installed included software...even with Vista 64 and Zire 31...worked like a charm!

    Hi
I have a Qosmio F50-10K and I installed Vista ultimate x64 and the Tempro appliaction is not working. After I install it, I left the Start Tempro button checked and when I press finish it gives me this error:
    "internal error 2753

Same thing happens when I uncheck the box with start tempro.
For both situations nothing is left in the system, no files, no regstry, nothing.
    Please HELP
    Thank you

    Hi!
I searched on the Toshiba download driver page and I found out, that Tempro is only available for Vista 32bit, not for 64bit.
So I think Tempro will not work on a 64bit OS.

  • Are there any other internet/online channels for Vista media center?

    Hi,
I was just wondering if there are any other internet/online channels I can get for Vista Media Center?
I only have about 9 at the moment, and would like preferby free ones. I don't have satelite or cable tv so would like online ones, is there anywhere that I can get sky one without a satellite dish as prison breaks on soon.
    Enjoy your weekend.
    Ian

I dont think you will be able to find a free Sky One channel in the internet.
But Im not expert and this is only my personal opinion.
If you dont have a satellite or cable TV you could buy a DVB-T TV tuner and maybe then you will be able to receive more TV channels using MCE ;)
