MSI R6570 MDIGD3 Crossfire ready ?

Hello,
It's all in the title : I would like to know if my MSI R6570 MDIGD3 is ready for ATI Crossfire or not ?
My motherboard (Asus Rampage Formula) is ready for it but i don't know about my graphic card...
Thanks for your help

the R6570 is a basic adapter I would also suggest that you save up money and buy a better card like a R7770, R7870 or R7970 as what you have is a waste of time and money getting another for crossfire as the payback will be next to nothing and cause more  problems. usually a single good card is much better then 2 lower ones as they scale poorly (I used to have 2 HD5770's (your R6570 is way worse then one of them 60% of the steam processors and half of everything else) in crossfire and my new single R7870 out performs both 5770's in crossfire all on its own also saved a good 80W of power draw in the process).
so get a single card like a R7770 and you will have compared to your current card 2 or 3x or more performance (crossfire with older cards is a waste of time and money - BEEN THERE DONE THAT).

  • MSI R5670 MDIGD3 Stutters!

Hi. I am looking for some help with my new MSI R5670 MDIGD3. I just installed it last Friday and I've been having some issues.
Basically, it stutters. Frequently. I have several movies on my pc, in various formats (mp4, mkv, avi, etc.). Using the VLC player, or Windows Media Player, i regularly have the screen freeze for 1-2 seconds while the sound stutters like ... well, its hard to describe. It stutters. This is happening every few minutes, and it's happening in multiple file formats in multiple players. I have my PC plugged right into my TV via an HDMI cable for movie watching, which is specifically why I purchased this card (I have a regular monitor setup as well via VGA of course, it happens on both). Anyway, system specs below, please please please if let me know if you have any idea why this is happening, i really don't want to return the card but after screwing with it all weekend i am at the end of my rope! Thanks in advance.

So I noticed the stuttering again today, but when i was watching some video online! Usually I would just write that off as slow internet, but it was the exact same as when I watch regular video in Windows Media Player or VLC, a quick frozen frame while the sound stutters.
EDIT: And maybe i should point out that the videos are on the Seagate. Windows is installed on the WD.

  • MSI Z77A-G45 Crossfire

I am planning to buy the MSI Z77A-G45 motherboard. Only i see the manual say:
    Quote
    Slots
    ■ 2x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots
    - PCI_E1 supports up to PCIe 3.0 x16 speed - PCI_E3 supports up to PCIe 3.0 x8 speed
    ■ 2x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots
Can you tell me if this motherboard does fully support 16 lanes on both cards in Crossfire?

No, it can't. It will switch to X8/X8 if using Crossfire. Due to technical limitation Z77 can't go X16/X16

I have the same question...? Do you mean 'dual' Crossfire as in 4 Videocards.. or 2 Videocards in PCI_E2 & PCI_E4?
The answer is... this board can run 2 cards in Crossfire. In E2 & E4 as explained in the owners manual.
You can not use the other slots for CrossFire.

  • Msi R6570 dual screen setup

    hi there,
maybe someone can help me... I currently own a msi radeon r6570 video card and on the rear output I ave a d-sub which I'm using for my initial display, the second is a dvi connecter which I have a dvi to d-sub adaptor for and an hdmi connector, now I'm wondering if I could get some help to set up a dual monitor on my card using the d-sub connector and the dvi port please.. I will be grateful for this help as I really could use dual screens to do my project work with.
thank you in advance and will await any help or advice available

NO... a DVI to VGA cable only takes the analogue pins (Only if it has a inline converter would that work) that are there and uses them but there being used by the VGA port that your direct D-Sub connection is utilizing so it will not work (it will be the same as a DVI-VGA adapter plug like you have already tried) you need a converter for a second analogue connection (VGA 15pin D-Sub) that can convert the digital signal to the needed VGA signal for your VGA monitor as the card has no unused Analogue lines...
that is the only way you can use 2 VGA (15pin D-Sub) connections as the card was not designed for 2 of them (like I said before it has 1 set of analogue connections (VGA 15pin D-Sub) and 2 digital 20-24pin digital lines so you need to convert a digital to analogue via a external circuit or your stuck with your other monitor being unusable)...

  • MSI 890FXA-GD70 Crossfire Problems

hi, im new to crossfire and my cousin just gave me his old msi r4770 cyclone..
im wondering why i cant run both cards at full x16 bandwidth..
one is running at PCIE 2.0 @ x16 and another one at PCIE 1.1 @ x8
and why does the other one say PCIE 1.1 and not 2.0?..
i used PCIE_1 and PCIE_5 as the manual says..
    here are the screenshots:

glad i could help you get it working! that is a common problem with dust and dabris getting into the unused connectors on motherboards leading to connection problems between cards and motherboard!
in future if that ever happens again try the clean and reseat as that is the most common problem!

  • Why msi 648 max HT ready cannot be OC

     ?( The problem is :
The bios has an option in the frequency/voltage control menu called
    AGP/PCI Frequency (MHz)
which gives me the ability to adjust the pci/agp bus clock frequency.
This option doesn't work, and my clue is
1-  When I adjust my CPU FSB more than 110 MHz (PCI > 36.66 MHZ) and this
option to 66/33 the computer boots normally until it starts loading the O.S.
and errors saying that the OS cannot start due to lost system files, or Read
Write error to Aux device, or it hangs.
2- When I adjust this option to 80/40 and the CPU FSB to Auto (100 MHz), the
computer boots normally and load the O.S. normally and everything goes just
fine. and Sandra software reports the PCI clock frequency as 33 MHz.
Thats to say that the PCI/CPU FSB ratio is fixed at 1/3 regardless to any value selected in this option.
    My system is:

  • MSI Hawk HD5770 Crossfire voltage/overclocking problems.

Hi everyone. This is my first post ever on a technical forum.
I've been playing around with the MSI Hawk 5770 video cards recently and I have some questions/concerns. I am running the new Catalyst 10.4 drivers without CCC installed and overclocking using MSI Afterburner. I have voltage altering unlocked (I think: Unlock voltage control checked in the properties and changed in the .cfg file) and have been able to overclock the cards to 950/1250 on stock voltages. I run Kombuster to test stability and I'm wondering, does GPU-Z read voltages correctly for these cards? No matter what I set the voltage to, GPU-Z reads 1.000v in the sensor tab.
I've been unable to break 1290MHz memory clock speeds and I'm not sure if it's because the cards I have just can't go higher or if the voltages aren't changing appropriately. When I set the memory clock to 1300 or higher, my system will freeze/hang (not crash mind you) within 5 seconds to 3 minutes of running Kombuster.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

Clarification: When the freezes/hangs happen, there is not a temperature problem. Haven't seen temps above 72C during stress tests and nothing over ~70C before a freeze/hang.

If you have the capacity of such as setup i would be very interested into seeing the benchmark results and see wether any improvements would hop along the way.

Hey guys I currently have 1 MSI 290x Lightning. A friend of mine just sold me his ASUS Rog Swift 27" 2560x1440 144hz monitor so I want to purchase another 290x lightning, will my EVGA Supernova 1000 G2 PSU be enough??

Quote from: flobelix on 04-January-15, 01:51:31
First of all please don't open multiple topics on the same issue. The one in Gaming (as you don't have a Gaming series vga) has been removed.
A system with a single reference design R9-290X requires 33A and a 600W psu. For a Lightning make it 40A and a 600W. Any further Lightning will add 20A more. This makes minimum requirements of around 60A and a 750W psu. Your EVGA psu offers 83A and 1000W and should therefor be way enough.
