MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OC - Mantle Included?
Hello everyone.
I would like to know if this graphic card MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OC have Mantle included in its features. On the website (MSI.com) has no reference about it.
Thanks a lot for the help!
its a AMD GCN Architecture card so it should support Mantle but you will be required to use the latest AMD drivers from AMD them-self for that series of cards directly as they are the ones implementing mantle itself and its in its infancy!
http://www.amd.com/us/press-releases/pages/amd-radeon-r9-2013sept25.aspx <--- your R7-260X GPU is listed as supporting Mantel as that is what allows it!

Core Clock Issue of MSI R7-260x 2GD5 OC
I just bought an MSI R7-260x 2GD5 OC.
In the official website, the core clock and memeory frequency are 1175 Mhz and 6500 Mhz respectively.
However, the figures shown in Afterburner are 1050 Mhz and 6000 Mhz (4*1500 Mhz).
Is it a defective product? Or it means I can always overclock the card to 1175 Mhz and 6500 Mhz ?
The driver is the latest version downloaded from AMD official site.
The version of AfterBurner is 2.3.1.Looks like a R7-260X but clockrates justr match the non-oc R7-260X 1GD5. In some local markets there might also be a non-oc 2GB version. Add a pic of the box and retry with latest Afterburner version: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161235.msg1277518#msg1277518

MSI R7 260X 2GD5 OCV1 comparability with Dell XPS 435MT
I have a Dell XPS 435MT with an i7920 processor. I have upgraded the system to a 600 Watt power supply. Will the R7 260X work in this system? The motherboard has a PCI 16e slot, but is only PCI 2.0. The R7 is PCI Express 3.0. Will there be any comparability problems? Thanks!
We can't tell you. PCI- E should be fine. While AMD cards' downwards compatibility is not as good as nvidia cards' it should still work, theoretically. Only Dell can confirm if their machine is compatible with current generation vgas. Besides PCI-E an old bios not supporting current vgas can still spoil any chance of running the card.

Artifacting with R7 260x 2GD5 OCV1
Hello Forum members, you guys are probably gonna have fun with this one
I recently installed a new R7 260x in my system and have been having problems with it that are driving me crazy (and trust me its a pretty long drive). After the install, I have been having artifacts (dancing red pixels) show up in the darker areas of my screen, and I have traced the issue back to the card under the fact of it does it with every display. Also, in some games, skyrim especially, I have been having distortion of the objects on the loading screens. Other than that the card runs just fine, but I am unsure of what the issue is here. I filed a support ticket and heard back from a tech with troubleshooting tips that worked to no avail. I am also sure that the PCI-E slot is working because my old gpu worked just fine in it also. I checked for a mainboard bios update with Live Update 5 and it said my BIOS was up to date. If it helps, my system specs are below
CPU: AMD FX-6120 (scrapped from an old Hp tower that my family was going to sell since we bought a computer to replace it)
RAM: 8gb Kingston (Don't have the model number since it is from that old Hp tower also)
Mobo: Msi 970a-g43 (chose it since this was a bit of a budget build)
GPU Msi R7 260x 2GD5 OCV1
Old GPU: Hp Radeon HD 7450
PSU: Rosewill Hive 750 watt
Windwos 8.1 64 bitHey, I haven't checked this forum in a while but nice to see it is still active. Got news to report on this. I sent the card back to newegg and received the replacement yesterday. This is a good one. After installing it yesterday, it ran perfectly fine. I booted up this morning and the artifacts returned much worse and blue this time. Plus windows I minimized were leaving outlines of were they were sitting and a bit of ghosting, along with the image distortion. So, to try something, I rebooted my system and after the reboot it worked just fine. I'm at school right now so I can't test it to see if it happens again but when I get a chance I will let you guys know.

MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC DirectX Error
I've bought the MSI N660TI PE 2GD5/OC 3 weeks ago and use it together with below hardware. I've tried installing all drivers from MSI (including the latest one released begin July), but keep having the same problem. After I installed the driver I can play games just fine. But when I shutdown the PC and start it up the next day (haven't tried it the same day so far) and play Battlefield 3, I get an error message somewhere between the 15 and 60 minutes and the game hangs. Only thing I can do is CTRL+ALT+DEL and select Task Manager so it goes back to Windows and then shutdown the game by clicking right mouse button on the game and select Close.
DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: Device hung due to badly formed commands.. GPU: "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti", Driver 32018
I can't figger out where the error comes from. I've read some posts which say that uninstalling MSI Command Center should solve the problem, but that didn't help for me.
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
CPU: Intel I5 4670K Haswell
CPU cooler: CoolerMaster Hyper 412S
Memory: GEIL CL11-11-11 D3-2133 4GB (2 modules in slot 2 and 4 on the motherboard)
PSU: CoolerMaster Silent Pro MII 620W ATX23
If you need anymore information, please let me know! Thank you in advance.I've tried the MSI drivers who came with the video card (the 306.97, which you can also download from the website). Also I've tried the following drivers from NVIDIA itself: 320.49, 320.18, 314.22 and the 310.90, for all drivers it was the WHQL version.
I haven't tried another videocard except for the onboard Intel HD4600 and that worked fine (even though I had to downgrade the graphics a bit, but that's understandable).
My old computer is to small for this videocard and haven't had time to test it at a friend of mine. But he has the exactly same card purchased at the same store. He has Z77-G45 motherboard, i5 3670K CPU and some older memory. I've installed my operating system from a USB device from him, so that's the same to. I also tried the same drivers as him (forgot which drivers this exactly was), but didn't work.
I forgot to mention it before, but I'm running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. -
MSI N670 PE 2GD5/OC fan replacement?
Hello,
I purchased a MSI N670 PE 2GD5/OC (NewEgg Item # N82E16814127685) just over a month ago. It uses the MSI Frozr IV cooler.
One of the fans on it (the one furthest from the I/O ports) has recently started making an extremely annoying grinding noise whenever the fan speed is over 35% or so. I am unable to RMA the card as I cannot have the system down for more than a day or two.
Will fans for the Frozr II or Frozr III (available on eBay) work in the Frozr IV? If not, does anyone know of any aftermarket coolers that are compatible with this board?
Thank you.
P.S. Sorry for not including actual links - I am new to the forums and am not allowed to post links yet.Quote from: flobelix on 21-August-13, 04:12:05
Don't use TF II/TF III parts as they won't fit. Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo II or Accelero Mono PLUS are good value for money aftermarket solutions.
Thank you for the information and advice. As I was looking into those two, I noticed that Accelero's website claimed the Accelero Xtreme III would also fit, and NewEgg had it on sale, so that is what I wound up purchasing. It works quite well and is MUCH quieter than the Twin Frozr IV, even before the grinding noise started.
For anyone else considering this, please be aware that the Xtreme III is monstrously huge (it adds several inches to the length of the MSI N670 PE). Make sure you have plenty of room in your case for it. -
