VRAM tester no problem VGA
what? Did you test it in another pc or what did you try?

which PSU should i buy?
If you want to try another psu any Corsair single rail psu from 550W and above would be fine. Recommended is Corsair VS Series VS650. Quite cheap but plenty of power for your system. It offers 50A on a single +12v rail. -
Macbook pro mid 2009 - beach ball spinning after one hour
Hi,
I have a problem with my macbook pro mid 2009. After one hour of working the beach ball starts spinning and you cannot work anylonger.
You have to force shut down the macbook pro and restart it. The same problem appears once I wanna do a back-up on my time capsule, but then I receive at least a report after restart:

Can somebody help me, what's wrong with my macbook? I already changed the ram, but it didn't help...
Best regards,
SebastianHi,
I just found the problem. I just have to update the firmware of my SSD:
Crucial M4 and RealSSD C400 SSDs 5184 hours power-on time BSOD issue
Crucial M4 and RealSSD C400 SSDs with firmware earlier than 70H / 07M could become unresponsive after 5184 hours of Power-on time. The drive will recover after a power cycle, however, this failure will repeat once per hour after reaching this point. Update firmware to version 70H / 07M or later.
My SSD has now 5690hours... -
I have an ipod shuffle 4th generation. I would like for the music to automatically shut off after one hour long song rather than going to next song on the list. Is this possible?
Sorry, but it's not. The only way to get this to work is to only put the one hour song on your Shuffle.

in ATESTMED, the rows are not getting dequeued. They get dequeued after one hour.
the aq_tm_processes is already 0 in both the databases.
This has started all of a sudden.
Please help.
Thanks,
RoshIs it exactly one hour? Has the timezone changed recently, there is a 10G R2 bug around timezones where the Queue Table is created in one timezone but isn't changed when the DB moves to a different timezone so they become out of sync. What does the Time Manager Info value tell you?

As you can see this is what happens after i run furmark, 3dmark or even after an hour of Trash ops. I have tested with CF disabled and same results. I do not get such artifacts if i use my gigabyte video card by itself.
This is the problematic card

Im running a crossfire configuration with a Gigabyte 2gb 6950 video card.
Is there a solution to this because i haven't found anyone with such issues and probably i have something set up wrong. I would have rmad but this card is out of stock and i dont want to refund since i got a great deal on it and ill lose it if i do.

Forms 9i disconnects after one hour
I have a forms 9i application running against a 9i database. There is no 9iAS middle tier - it just uses the Forms OC4J listener servlet.
The form calls a database procedure whic takes a long time to execute - in fact it takes over an hour. After exactly one hour, the form disconnects with the following stack in the application.log file:

Any ideas? Is the disconnection coing from the forms end or the database end? What can I do about it?no it is not a server side rule.... the only thing the server accepts is idle time. setting it to 0 means always on. but even with high traffic over the vpn tunnel, the connection gets interrupted.
in programs like ipsecuritas i can set things like duration of connection, but ipsecuritas does not support to get an ip address in the range of the network in the dhcp pool of the router. it only does natting. routing is not possible.
so ipsecuritas is not disconnecting but not sufficients, so it is not a server side thing. -
Solution manager alerts - receiving after one hour
Hello dear experts,
We have installed solution manager in our landscape and connected to D, Q and P systems.
We are getting alerts for the issues that occur in satellite systems to our email box, but the alerts are coming after exactly one hour after the occurance of the issue.
Ex: If a dump occurs on P system at 02:00PM. I get an alert email at 03:00PM.
Please suggest the place where I need to check and change the time difference.
Also, let me know if you need any more details. Please help me ASAP
Thanking you

...We don't observe any concurrent mode failures.
My observations so far are:
1. there is no CMS-initial-mark after the previous CMS-concurrent-reset.
2. the time difference between the end of the previous cycle (timestamp of CMS-concurrent-sweep) and the Full GC is always exactly 3600 seconds plus a few milliseconds.
My first suspicion was, that System.gc() is being called somewhere. But I dropped this idea, after I found the 3600 seconds pattern.
Looks as if the Full GC happens as a replacement for a skipped CMS cycle one hour after the previuos cycle.
What could be the cause for this strange behaviour?
Often a new CMS cycle starts immediately after the previous cycle has been finished (I removed the ParNew lines):

You can try running with "-XX:+DisableExplicitGC" as tschodt suggests, but that may have detrimental effects if something thinks it needs a full collection after an hour.
Are you using something like Java RMI, which needs a collection every once in a while to maintain its distributed garbage collection algorithms. You can change the interval at which RMI calls System.gc(), and you can get it to just start a CMS cycle instead of causing a full compacting collection. -

Create a bootable usb stick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0).
Then unpack the provided archive (xxx.rar) and put the included file (xxxxxxxx.zzz) on that stick.
Rename xxxxxxxx.zzz to zzz.rom. Put the atiflash.exe also included in the archive on the USB stick too. Now boot from the stick.
Type atiflash -p -f -noaper 0 zzz.rom [ENTER] and let it flash the vbios. -
Re: Satellite A215-S7444 just shuts down after one hour of usage
I have a satellite A215-S7444.
My problem is that while i'm on the computer after about an hour or so the computer just shuts down.
I have already tried changing the power manegment settings which worked for awhile but my laptop still turns off after awhile.Hi Patrick
Im quite sure that your notebook shuts down automatically due to the high temperature inside the notebook.
Its a simply overheating issue which could be caused by clogged cooling grilles.
From time to time its advisable to clean the ventilators. Mostly the dust prevents the cooling modules from properly working and therefore the temperature increases.
I made good experience with the compressed air spray. Such sprays can be purchased from many computer/notebook dealers.
Additionally you could try to google for some online offers too.

Youtube will not play continuously.
Other aps work reasonably well.
My WiFi signal is very strong.
Anyone else in this boat?
Is it a bug?
HELP!Mr. McBlob,
I'm sorry to say, the flash player is up to its old tricks again.
After doing a clean flash install, as you suggested,
It played great for about 35 miniutes and then stopped, in the offending manner.
It restarted with a screen refresh, but only downloaded less than a minute of video.

Hello!!
I just relocated to Austria,Vienna...and I just recieved my moving from miami.
I just conecyed my computer with a convertor for electricity from 110... to 220 (europe)
it was working for one hour...and sudenly..it shut down completly!!
what can I do?
thank you!!
joannaJoanna...You don't need and shouldn't use a convertor. If you look at the message I sent you back in June I suggested getting an adapter which only allows the plug to fit in the wall. someone else made the same suggestion.
I'm not sure why you bought a convertor. It's been six months since i sent the message and I don't know if you have been using the computer in Italy or why it is now not working, as I used mine in both Italy and Vienna.
You can buy an adaptor at any electirc store or at Saturn, a large store on Mariahilferstrasse fairly cheaply.
If you do get an adaptor and it still doesn't work, there are a few resellers in Vienna, but no Apple owned store. It's too small a market.
There are a couple of MacShark stores, one at the foot of Mariahilferstrasse near the Kunsthistoriches Museum. I There is also a very good store, honest and a good reputation called Digital Store at Stiftgasse 21, in the 7th district, not too far off of Mariahilferstrasse.
Since they are not Apple stores, you have to pay for almost anything they do, including just opening it up and checking it out so get an estimate before you have them do anything.
Good luck, but try an adaptor first. -
How to find out why my MBP will always try to shut down after 1 hour
Dear all,
this is a question too complicated for me to answer; I have previously tried to solve this problem in a usenet forum (comp.sys.mac.system) - but we didn't get it solved there, and I finally gave up on it. However, it still persists, and it is so annoying that I want to try another approach on it this time using the Apple Discussions Forum.
The problem is as follows: my relatively new (bought in december '09) MacBook Pro 13" (2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM) has a problem: always when I leave it untouched for one hour, something within the system would try to make the computer shut down (system halt). Please note right that this seems NOT to be a hardware-related issue (al least not simply a bad mother-board or sth. similar - there are a lot of threads about MacBooks that seem to shut down immediately, like fainting - this is not the case here). Instead, the system behaves like anytime when a user-requested shut down is invoked - for example, the running applications would check if any changes should be saved, and ask questions. The only thing is: I did not request a system shut down, and even more: I do not WANT the system to shut down. In fact, this whole problem is extremely annoying, since it constantly messes up my open documents (e.g. the TextMate workspace I usually set up, or similar things), forcing me to reestablish my workspace at least once a day. Over time, this can be very annoying for a computer that's used for work!!
During the course of my earlier discussions in the forum, we tried to find out what makes the computer go down - looking through the system log files etc. - but to no avail: we couldn't trace back the event that has caused the system to invoke the shut down procedure. However, it seems that this issue is related to the Mac operating system, and not the hardware - and this is why I ask this question here (and not in the MacBook Pro section). It may be that we simply didn't look in the right place - or not with the right tools - and I hope that there may be some people here with some new ideas how to trace the reason for this procedure. Everything I can tell now with some certainty (and I couldn't do it before in the usenet forum) is that the shutdown seems to be invoked about one hour after the system has been left untouched by a user (no key strokes, no mouse movements); I know this because I use my Mac for a wake up call now - and, since I sometimes need more than an hour for that, I can tell that this problem causes iTunes to quit one hour after the Mac has booted (which makes my wake-up music to switch off... and some of the running applications with no changes to save).
It would be very important for me to solve and remove this annoying problem, and I think that this really shouldn't happen! Needless to say, I haven't set the energy savings settings such that the system would shut down after one hour (in fact, I have set the system to always stay on when attached to a power supply); still, the problem prevails.
Does anyone of You specialists have a good clue or smart suggestion where (or probably how) else to look to find out what causes the shutdown? Thanks a lot for taking the time and considering this annoying problem!
Best,
BjörnYes - it is a bit frightening... Had other Macs before this MacBook (Pro), and never experienced such a problem. Don't know - of course I look into the Preference settings from time to time, and maybe I have changed that setting on the other computers... it never occurred to me...
What an annoyance such a simple decision to make the auto-shutdown after one hour a default can be! Probably, Apple reconsiders :-D I'd rather prefer an auto-lock of the account (instead of an auto-log off)... but I believe it has been expressed often enough that, in this particular case, the - pardon me - Windows-solution (to offer a simple lock of the account, the Windows-L-key combination, IIRC) is much more practical... to copy that behaviour under Mac OS X, You'd have to go through lengths...
Anyway! Pondind, thank You very much!!! Solved a kind of embarassing, but huge problem of mine!
Best,
Björn -
