MSI Radeon RX9800PRO Plus BIOS Problem?

I have the card listed above. When i try to use Live Update 3, under VGA card info it does not detect the card i have. It says this...
MSI Live VGA DriverTM Version: 3.58.000
VGA Card Information:
VGA Card Manufacturer MSI
VGA Card Model Name UNKNOWN
VGA Card BIOS Vendor ATI
VGA Card BIOS Version UNKNOWN
VGA Card Driver Version 6430
Because it cannot detect the Model name and BIOS version Live Update always just says everything is ok and up to date. But i know its not cause i had to manually go to msi site and get latest card drivers. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that i flashed the BIOS before then back, and if so i was wondering if anyone has the original factory BIOS for this card.

Since this is an MSI video card I am going to move this post to the VGA forum where all the experts hang out.

I just installed MSI TV anywhere plus card, location Canada NTSC-M to copy VHS tapes and burn onto DVD's. I can see and hear the VHS tape running on the computer now, but when I click 'capture' I get 'internal encoder error' and then the program gets hung up and I can't do anything. I am unable to end program, it won't respond. I can't shut down or restart, I must unplug computer. My error report is szappname - MSITVR.exe, szappver - 2.0.2.2, szmodname - hungapp, szmodver offset - all zeros. Please help!

Did some more checking.  I go from vcr to computer on the rca cables, then I use composite with yuy2 input and avi capture. The program still gets hung up and anything that I capture I am unable to open with either the TV plus program or Windows Media. If I try to capture in mpeg format I get the internal encoder error. Either way as soon as I hit capture, I can see it's recording and its saving data but the program freezes. I can hit 'stop' but its completely hung up.

  • [Help] MSI radeon 7870 2GB OC problem on MSI - Z77A-GD55

Installed my new GPU onto my  MSI - Z77A-GD55 , but monitor stays in power save mode , switched the GPU to the lower PCI2.0 slot (there are 3 of them) top 2 are PCIE 3.0 and the lowest is 2.0 and it worked , but the problem my GPU Fans cannot fit because of the USB/POWER ON-OFF top case buttons(wires) since its right next to the PCI 2.0 slot.
Bios is updated to the latest version 1.11
PCI-gen3 is on Auto in the bios settings (There is only Auto and Disable) option.
Any one has this issue before?

Did any card before work in the PCI-E 3.0 slots?
Yes my old ati radeon 4670 BUT i had this issue again first time i added the old GPU right as i bought the motherboard  (1 year ago ) where my screen would be in Power save  mode , but i removed my ram , removed power cable to drain power , and my GPU worked , from that i never removed / added anything in my computer (hardware wise) so this problem was here right from the start , the thing is i fixed it the 1st time , but i did had the 1.1 bios (even though i tried installing the new GPU on the 1.1 version and it didnt worked so i updated my bios to 1.11 and still the same issue)
Also as this motherboard has 3 PCI slots 2 are PCIE3 and the lowest is 2.0 (on 2.0 my old/new GPU works fine , devise manager sees it and drivers working aswell) but not on the other 2 PCIEx3 slots , maybe the top PCIE ex3 slot is broken, but the 2nd PCIe3 slot i never installed anything there, and still doesnt work aswell , so i think its either some issue in the BIOS settings
Some bios settings i could find that has to do with GPU

  • MSI KT4V with usb+bios problem!

hi i have an msi kt4v motherboard: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/m...ODEL=MS-6712...
and it wont startup my keyboard until windows loads.
i even updated my bios to the vary latest one....in the bios list there is a bios with this details:
BIOS Type AMI® BIOS File Size 514KB
    Version 1.7 Update date 2002-12-26
Update Description -Support AMD Barton XP2800+ (FSB333) CPU
-Fixed system sometimes will have IDE CRC error
-Fixed D-bracket2+USB keyboard, cannot use keyboard on DOS mode.
    Special note ,
    Download 6712v17.exe
that suppose to fix my prob. its not the latest though, the latest is 1.8. i updated to 1.8 directly, i didnt upgrade from 1.7 though, but from an earlier version. is anyone else experiencing this problem? whats strange is that it will work if i clear the cmos and reboot. but then if i restart it wont work. do i have to upgrade to 1.7 then to 1.8?

I have the same problem too.  My keyboard\'s cable failed and I replaced it but made it USB only, after the later bios releases it stopped working until windows loaded.
Legacy support is turned on to no avail.  I've been keeping a ps/2 keyboard handy for when I have to get into bios or some other command level operation.

  • K8N Diamond Plus BIOS problems

Hi , just replaced my lanpartyUT sli-dr expert with K8N Diamond Plus mobo and having problems allready :D
    Just finished overclocking and now running at (250 x 11 x 800mhz x 1.300v+0.2v x dram/fsb 1/1 x 2.80v)
    Memory timings --> (3,7,14,3,2,8,2,2,1,3,200mhz(15.6us),1,16x,7x,7ns,5ns,0clk,DiCC:enabled,1T,8beats,reduce 00%... ...)
The problem is "BOOT" related... System is PRIME95 stable , but still when trying to "restart windows" or "reset" the system wont BOOT !!?
When i shutdown and then power up, the system boots perfectly !? What can cause this kind of behaviour :/
I have OC:d quite many systems , but this is new even to me

The windows core program shows htt link 1000mhz exact. Memory settings are all "manually" adjusted. Cpu vcore is 1.300 & extra voltage 0.2v=1.5v.
All ECC options are disabled.Hdd:s adjusted manually. Should i rise the (NB) voltage , or does that have anything to do with this !? Maybe not at 250fsb only :D Cool & quiet is disabled naturally :/ All fan controls disabled , connected directly to psu. No D.O.T,s or anything automatic overclocking enabled. The (L cache & data cache scrubs) are strange to me, so those are disabled. After flashed bios , enabled boot sector protection. All the mobo power connectors are in use (24pin+8pin+4pin) Could it be that the memory modules should be used on ports 3 & 4 (now on 1 & 2) ??

  • K8N Diamond Plus Bios problem solved ;-))

Thanx for the advices related to my previous topic. The system is 100% stable now , the problem was bios protection & cpu vcore related
I noticed that i had forgot to enable the bios protection after flashing and enabled it, now the system boots every time normally
The cpu vcore was messed up too.. i changed the 1.300v+0.2v to 1.400v+0.1v and it works now, the vcore is now 1.524v and i just primed another 24hours
Oh i almost forgot, i have to give extra credit to MSi from making this EXELLENT board    i tought that my previous "lanpartyUT nf4 sli-dr expert" board was good, but this mobo has deffinetly shown DFi its place

No , the bios (boot) sector/virus  protection is not so important.. Just noticed that my "FORTRON" epsilon 700w PSU was the main problem... You guys can imagine starting a 2X 7900gtx , x-fi fatality and 6hdd:s powered system with a psu that has only ("15A") 12v rails
When booting to OS , the monitor shuts down because theres not enough power to feed even the 7900gtx cards  still the system boots, but
thats not a good sign... Just ordered the TAGAN 1,1KW PSU !!! its has 20A 12v rails..GOD DAMNED if thats not enough...

  • MSI GP70 PE2 Leopard Bios Problem

    Hello,
i get today my new Notebook MSI GP70 PE2 Leopard.
I wanted to install Windows 7 64bit in UEFI and there was constantly an error message.
Then I tried to find something in the internet, found that should install the new BIOS.
    I was trying to do.
Since then the unit will not start, or if I press the power button it goes to short blue, then red, lasts few seconds, will get back shortly blue and then it stays red, but the screen will not boot.
is there a way to completely reset the unit to the old UEFI Bios or a way to make a BLIND Flash?
I would be grateful for any help
    Thanks

Did you finish the BIOS update process? Is there any unusual messages show up during the update?
Tell which version you had and to which version you're updating to.
If you can't enter the BIOS menu, then I'd say go for RMA service.
    Update:
You can only install Windows 7 under Legacy mode/UEFI with CSM.

Hi... I've got a very strange problem with my motherboard. The bios diode is blinking (I know that it means my first bios has failed). But I tried fixing method from topic with GD65 and it didn't work. Any ideas?

Remove the PSU power cord, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS, reset making sure to enable BIOS update again, save & exit, & then see if the chip LED stops flashing.

Working on a new build. I installed everything and fired it up. Everything seems to be properly powered, as all the fans are running and the lights on the case and motherboard seem to all be working properly.
However, when I connect my monitor, there is no signal input. The fans on the video card are functioning, so it must be powered properly (right?). This monitor does work -- I use it daily with my laptop as an external monitor.
    Any tips?

I had problems whit some dots om my right screen and someone told me that a bios uppdate could solve it, so yes i treid, whit help, and i got the update, it works great, but the problem is, he who helpt me (who works whit fixing computers and know a lot more then me) didn't know what ME8 and ME7 stands for, so we installed the latest bios that natrualy is a ME8 version, but my CPU is way to old and when i try to start windows i get the lovely blue screen, so no way for me to get in to windows.

    Don't worry about bios version.
Plug in your PC and Enter the bios (F2 or SUPPR key) and set parameter "Integrated peripherals" in AHCI.
