MSI Starcam 370i Videosecurity error "Please upgrade to DirectX 9........."

Hi,
I have a Starcam 370i video works fine but when I run the Videosecurity application I get this error "Please upgade to directx 9 to run this application" I have tried upgrading to DirectX 9 on two different PC's but get the same error on each one. The DirectX install is from Microsoft. I have seen this problem reported on several other web sites but not here. (but no fix) One PC is a 600 MHz Netvista, one a new Lenovo 3000 with the latest video drivers.

a search revealed several other threads with the same problem
however no-one comes back to say if any suggestions worked or not
what is your VGA hardware? maybe it is not compatible with DirectX 9.0?

Tried to setup ePrint on printer and received Register Error, Please Upgrade Product

I was trying to setup the ePrint web service on a HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One B210a and whenever i tried to set it up on the printer I would receive "Register Error - Please upgrade product". I would also try to get the printer to update through the web interface and I wasn't having any luck. I'm wondering what I can do to get the printer to either update itself and get the ePrint enabled or if I can do it from the HP website?

REGISTER ERROR - Please Upgrade Product.......How?????

I am trying to set up my ePrint and I can not get my email address from my printer because it keeps saying I need to upgrade product. I have searched everywhere and can't find anything about this. I went through SETTINGS-PREFERENCE-PRODUCT UPDATES and it says my printer has the most current updates. What can I do to get my Eprint working?
Please Help

START UP ERROR; Please upgrade your video display drivers.

I recently updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro CC (2014) and when I opened it I got the message about updating the video drivers as it could not find any capable play modules.
I have looked everywhere on how to update the drivers but have found nothing when it comes to Mac OSX.
Please can anyone help?

Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 5770
OS X 10.9.3

Try this: Go to the following locations and rename the folder to: "old_folder name".
User/user library/Application Support and rename the Adobe folder
User/user library/Preferences and rename the Adobe folder
Then go to Documents folder and go to Adobe/Premiere pro/8.0 and rename the 8.0 folder
This has solved this issue for other users.

hi i want to record some videos with my webcam but i'm getting fed up of a 10 second clip being over 500mb in size
so i'm just wondering if you people know of any freeware video compression software i can use with my webcam as there are video compression options in the software but all greyed out :(

No working drivers for MSI StarCam 370i

I have downloaded and installed drivers from manufactor's website but this works not. Screen is black, follows crash of application.

Starcam 370i Video Security Software "VideoSecurity is going to terminate !"

Hi,
I have a Starcam 370i which is installed and functions without any problems (I can see image etc) when I run the AMCAP software. I then install the latest VideoSecurity software from the Website and now get "VideoSecurity is going to terminate !" error when trying to run the software. I only purchased the Starcam 370i so I could use it with the VideoSecurity software.
Does anybody know how to resolve this issue?
I am running Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. With 5.12.2.25 Starcam driver

Video foramt for starcam 370i

I am using starcam 370i , it can record only microsoft avi format ,
No media player recongize this formt .
pLease tell me which media player to play this type of file,
secondly How can I save video capture files in another format, remember I dont have option of any other media type while saving the captured file.
Note; like many others I cannot install "My Guard" utility . Because of Directx prblem message, which has not been solved as yet by the manufacturers.,(realy poor performance)

Starcam 370i, MyGuard & DirectX9 Error

Hi.. has anyone had any problems getting the Starcam Video Security app working? I keep getting a DirectX 9 error (as below). This is really annoying as I have Directx9.0c installed and working correctly.

Is this a clean install of windows or something that has been around the block a few times?

StarCam 370i - low quality colour

Problem: If not using StarCam 370i in a sunny room the picture turns purple and the dark coloures come up incorrect as shown in the pictures below (correct firs, SC second).
(Supposed) explanation: We found it is because of the lack/faulty (? not sure yet) of an IR filter layer. Probably the cam was designed like this to be able to work in night mode. Please read this article to understand the necessity of the IR filter and read through the topic for details (especially from this post).
Solution: Use an energy saving (neon based) bulb. It produces less IR light than the normal light bulbs. Please read this post.
Will update this post if we figure out anything important.

I asked my sister to bring a StarCam 370i for me from the UK. I got it, it's cool but I'm very disappointed about the coloures. It looks like it doesn't like dark coloures. My black t-shirt is light grey, my dark blue one is light purple, my darg green chair is also light purple...
I tried to adjust the colour settings but couldn't set it up. Is this normal? What can be wrong? :(

I will ask the Hungarian office but I'm very busy nowdays. I'm afraid it's not a sw problem but the fault of the sensor. And I'm not sure if the reseller really checked the colours... So I'm still not sure if these are wrong devices or the 370i serie has a poor quality sensor.

StarCam 370i - need new recording program!

I bought MSI StarCam 370i yesterday.. and it was amazing! My last webcam recorded & pictured in 352x288 max! With StarCam 370i I can record in 640x480... and the price... it was AMAZING! Only $25 !! When you see this webcam in shop.. just go and buy it... theres nothing to lose.. now I got 2 MSI products in my home and they both rock!
Okay here is my problem.. I installed all soft from CD, got drivers installed too.. all works just perfect.. but when I record video with VideoSecurity then the video file seems to be RAW so it takes tons of spaces, and the recorded video doesnt have any audio thought.. :(
So what do you recommend? I have tried some softwares:
RiverPast Cam Do - lag with all codecs
Webcam Video capture - same, lag
MSI Video Security - too big files and no audio
MSI My Guard - lag

Nah... I dont use VirtualDub for recording... but I found good software few days ago.. it's name is H264 Webcam Pro 2.32 ( http://h264soft.com/ )
You can use it just for recording or for like spy cam.. I think its better than MSI's spy cam software.. thanks anyways..

USB Webcam MSI StarCam Clip & Skype

I've just tested a MSI StarCam Clip Webcam on a G4 Mac Mini 1.25Ghz running Mac OS X 10.4.8. Cannot use the webcam's built in mic & video together because a loud ringing noise is produced. I have a usb mic and use that for sound input and the webcam only for video.
Supplied Webcam Monitor App & Quicktime:
Used the webcam monitor app that came with the driver to set the webcam resolution to 640x480. The picture is good (almost MacBook iSight quality) but the picture tears up quite a bit.
Skype:
Picture is good (confirmed with sister running Skype on a MacBook) and there is no tearing. Skype developers have probably developed their own code for video.
iChat:
Webcam is not recognised.

Starcam 370i Set up

I have not so long ago got my hands on a msi starcam 370i cause i was told they were a very good web cam but i seem to be havin a few problems settin up the security part of the cam
On the device settings page i have the starcam as the video device but on the video source it says "none" , i have been tryin to get the alarm workin and sending emails and i think i got all that right but this Video Source has got me baffeled and i dont know how to fix this ..... any info would be very welcome on this matter

A collegue send us an CS4 InDesign file and when I opened, it says this:
Error "Could not open [filename]. Please upgrade your plug-ins to their latest versions or upgrade to the latest of Adobe InDesign."
Any suggestion? I also have CS4 installed.
