MSI StarCam not installing

My Windows Hardware Update Wizard is not installing the web camera!
I found the .INF file but it still does not install.
My system meets all the requirements except one...
I am using Windows XP Pro x64 operating system.
Where can I get proper drivers or should I return the camera?

you need 64bit drivers to run any device in Windows XP x64. the 32bit drivers included on the CD won't work
look on the MSI website for the product support page for your device (click on Products right up top here, and then navigate to your product), if there are 64bit drivers available there, then use those
if there aren't, then you're stuck, and your webcam won't work
try contacting MSI support (How to contact MSI.), see if they have any plans for x64 driver for this device. if not, and you really must use XP x64, then you may have to change to an alternative device which has x64 drivers available
good luck!

From what I've read online this problem seems to be born of installing SCCm on the D: drive which throws dotNET. A few people seem to have had some luck with editing two of the dotNET files (regsvcs.exe.config and InstallUtil.exe.config) to include
    the following lines:
        <runtime>
            <loadfromRemoteSources enabled="true"/>
        </runtime>
In pursuit of a fix, I took backups of both files and then made the change to regsvc.exe.config but I was unable to do the same with Installutil.exe.config (opening the file in Admin Notepad would only let me Save As...).
Can anyone suggest what the problem could be? Am I barking up the wrong tree with the config file editing? Any info/advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You could try to copy Installutil.exe.config and edit the copy-file. Then copy the edited file to replace the old file.

  • CrystalReports11_5_NET.msi will not install

I have the same problem as outlined below. CrystalReport11_5_NET.msi will not install. It gives the error message "This software package can only be installed on systems that has installed .Net 1.0 or 1.1. Needless to say, 1.1 is installed. Does any one have a simpler solution than below?
    Thanks,
    Robert T
    http://forums.msdn.microsoft.com/es-ES/vscrystalreports/thread/598537d5-03dd-460c-9696-60717c2dc2f4/
We currently have a case where we are supporting multiple versions of our product on the same web server (a windows 2003 server).  However, we have 2 versions of our application on the same server, but one is in ASP.nET 1.1 and the other is in ASP.nET 2.0.  Our applications are fine and can co-exist ok on the server.  They both use Crystal REports XI, Relesae 2, which supports both 1.1 and 2.0.
Our developer machines run just fine wtih both products and crystal reports, but the problem we are having is deployment.  When we install the runtime redistrubutale for ASP.nET 2.0 on the machine a file(CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msi) then our ASP.NET 2.0 application works fine.  However, when we install the crystal runtime redistributable fro ASP.nET 1.1 a file (CrystalReports11_5_NET.msi) windows 2003 server will not let us install it, it gives us an error saying that "This software package can only be installed on systems that has .NET 1.0 or 1.1".  Which of course this server has, because our application in 1.1 runs jsut fine.
    2 questions.
    1.  Can Crystal Reports XI Relesae 2 co-exist on a windows 2003 server for BOTH the asp.net 1.1 and asp.net 2.0 version?
    2.  Has anyone encountered this and resolved this?
    Thanks
I believe the only way to get this to work is to uninstall the 2.0 framework, install the XIr2 for 1.1 framework msi file, install the 2.0 framework, then install XIr2 for the 2.0 framework.
Can't do the uninstall stuff because I got SQL Server 2005 and other .NET 2.0 apps running on the server. I got it to work by copying the .NET 1.1 versions of the Crystal DLL files (e.g. CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll) from my PC to the server in the corresponding directory and then adding them to the assembly cache with the 1.1 Configuration tool. Don't forget the xxx.resources.dll files in the "en" directory also. In my case, I just needed to get the 1.1 stuff working. This is really bad and just adds another Crystal Reports horror story to my already very long list (I've been using Crystal for almost 15 years).

asnwer to 1 is yes, R2 supports both 1.1 and 2.0 framework. I'm not sure why you are receiving that error
answer to 2 is I haven't  seen it but you may get more info if you can log a message with our deployment team.

    Tim

  • Adobe Professional MSI package not installing

Hello, I have downloaded the Adobe Professional MSI package from the Creative Cloud Packager but the application will not install. I have tried both 32bit and 64 bit versions to no avail.
Here are some errors from the PDApp.Log File
Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.

Download, install, then run and remove Adobe Reader 6 using the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.  Now try the 9.2 installation again.

  • MSI will not install; Bundle status is "Downloaded"

Have been receiving numerous "Error impersonating configured user." messages.
I changed the bundle to "Run as secure system user (don't allow system to interact with desktop)" and changed the "Install MSI" action's "Install Parameters:" to from /i to /im. ("Install MSI" is the only action.)
I then incremented the version number. "Install Options" are set to "Install always".
The bundle status in the ZENworks Adaptive Agent is shown as "Downloaded" and the .MSI does not run.
The clients PC's use Windows 7.

If the version of the Install action set is different from the version of

The Install action set of a bundle is internally associated with a global

same local version identifier as the bundle version you modified. However,
if you modify the Install action set of a bundle, the global version
identifier of the bundles Install action set is incremented by one and
the modified Install action sets local version identifier is set to the

  • .msi do not install normally, but they do from terminal msiexec

I have a very strange problem happening right now and have tried every possible way to fix it or find a way around it.
Whenever I try to install any .msi file normally by just clicking on it in the explorer it fails with "Error 1359.An internal error ocurred.", if I try to install the same file using msiexec /i <msipath>setup.msi
/l*v c:\temp\msi.log it installs without any error, which is very strange.
I could live with that and just use msiexec whenever I had the need to install an .msi cause it doesn't happen too often. If only I didn't have the reason to install
Miscrosoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86). The problem with it is that it has .msi packed inside .exe so I cannot run it using msiexec and on normal install it gives "Error 1359.An internal error ocurred."
and then 0x80070643 - Fatal error during installation. Here's the log file but it doesn't tell much apart from MSI package failing to install:

I have tried doing a clean boot, tempering with registry, repairing .net 4.5, using different antivirus tools and even microsoft malicious software removal, they found nothing, and I don't have any antivirus or firewall software running at the time of installation,
as some have mentioned it could be the cause. I couldn't find any other solutions and any others doesn't seem to help. Is the only way out a complete reinstall of windows? I'm pretty desperate for it now.
Really hope that someone from here can offer a solution for this problem.

    Hi,
installed a SCCM 2012 R2 Primary site on a 2012 R2 server on the D: drive. Everything seemed to go well, however i am am now encountering issues with the SMS_NOTIFICATION_SERVER in that the site component manager is unable to install it. The status message

Having done a bit of reading, it seems a few other people have come accross this issue before:
    https://rikkoss.wordpress.com/2013/12/11/tip-do-not-change-the-default-installation-location-for-configmgr-2012/
    http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7401-sms-notification-server-failed-critical-sccm-sp1-sql-2012-sp1/
The solution for these folks seems to be to edit 2 files in the .Net folder,InstallUtil.exe.config and Regsvc.exe.config,
    and insert the following code:
    <runtime>
    <loadFromRemoteSources enabled=”true”/>
    </runtime>
However, this hasn't worked for me and i'm still getting stuck with the same error messages. Since i'd really like to avoid reinstalling SCCM on the C: drive, can anyone suggest any possible solutions to this issue?

    The MPsetup.log has this:

Had a go at removing the MP, disabled the UAC and reinstalling the MP. Same result unfortunately...The server is temporarily housed in a block GPO OU so group policy shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for all the help so far!

  • I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searxhed evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason.

I have windows 7 64 bit but the new itunes will not install because it can't find itunes64.msi.  I have searched evertwhere on my pc. In addition, I can't uninstall the itunes and reinstall for the same reason. I can't upgrade for my icloud account.

    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch

  • HT1923 When I try to uninstall iTunes I get a message saying iTunes 64 msi can not be located and I should enter an alternate path. How would I know where it it is? I get the same message when trying to install the update to iTunes 10.6.1.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Msi object will not install with non-admin user

I've created an MSI object for the Flash 9 plugin, which installs okay
on the workstation when I login with an admin user. It will not
install when logged in with a normal user account. I have set it up as
an unsecure user and given the workstation R and F rights to the msi
object, but I'm still getting a 1603 error code.
    Any suggestions?

You will see the ZENworks reference on this page.
I would bookmark this site :>
I almost always check it before deploying a new package to see if it is
listed. Helps me find issues before the issues find me :>

  • ITunes not installing, Window XP SP3.  Warning reads "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter alternate path to folder containing installation package"iTunes.msi.

iTunes not installing.  Windows XP, SP3.  Mesage reads:" The feature you are trying to use is ona network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi in the box below.  iTunesSetup.exe shows in my download folder, but it will not install.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Upgrading but not installing Flash with MSI

I have an environment of some 600 PCs running XP. A few have Flash installed, most do not. Those that have Flash installed are a variety of versions.
It's my intent to perform a Flash install using MSI and GPO, and that's (mostly) tested and working.
However, I don't want to install Flash anywhere it isn't already. The systems that do have Flash installed are effectively random across the organization, not matching up in any way to GPO.Doing that I want to use the MSI, so I can have it automatically install to the machine.
Is there a way to install/upgrade Flash only on those systems that already have Flash installed, and not install it elsewhere?
    Thanks

I don't know how to do that, although it sounds like a very good idea.
Have you seen the new 10.1 Admin Guide if it contains any suggestions: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/flash_player_admin_guide.html ?
You will probably need to write some sort of script to test for a current FP installation before you proceed with the update.

  • Fatal msi error mp.msi could not be installed

    Good morning,
I have SCCM 2012 R2 running on Server 2012 R2.  I've got a primary site and two secondary sites, all of them with identical hardware and software.  I've set them all up the exact same way, but on one of my secondary servers I can not get the MP
role to start.  Looking at the MPSetup.log I see the following:

I also found this in my mpMSI.log file
MSI (s) (0C!AC) [08:18:00:125]: Product: ConfigMgr Management Point -- Error 25140. Setup was unable to compile the file CcmExec_Global.mof

Error 25140. Setup was unable to compile the file CcmExec_Global.mof
    The error code is 80041002
Does anyone have any ideas why I would be receiving this error?  These SCCM servers are brand new servers that are replacing our current SCCM 2007 servers and I did notice that somehow the old 2007 SCCM client had gotten installed on this server automatically
so I used ccmsetup /uninstall and also used ccmclean to remove it because I read that might be the issue, but it hasn't resolved the issue.   Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks

WOOT, WOOT!  Actually I just got it.  I ended up doing the following:
    Ran ccmsetup.exe /uninstall and rebooted
    Ran ccmclean.exe /all and rebooted
Removed IIS role from server and rebooted
Added IIS role back to server and rebooted
Checked my MPSetup and MPMsi logs and they both show success.  Finally!
