MSI Steelseries GT60-2OK Workstation keyboard replacement

Hi, where can buy a keyboard replacement for my MSI GT60-2OK Workstation? the ? key doesnt respond well, or any guide to repair it would be appreciated.

Google the MSI Store, and click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom. That would be your best bet. They only ship to the US though.

  • MSI Launches GT70 Mobile Workstation

After the first launch of GT60 Mobile workstation in December 2012, MSI will soon deliver a 17 inch Intel Haswell Platform Mobile Workstation . GT70 2NH equipped with Core i7-4700MQ Processor and Nvidia K3000M Quadro Graphics Card. Its CPU performance compare to last generation of Intel Core i7-3630QM has 10% improvement. K3000M under SPECviewper 11 tests and most of the OpenGL professional graphics design usage has more than 15~25% Graphics Performance improvement than K2000M. That could give profesional designer faster experience and save more time on complicate rendering works.
If you know about MSI last generation workstation GT60, then you must know MSI unique feature- Super Raid, which enable two times of SATA3 mSATA SSD plus one 2.5 inch HDD storage space. This time it's even better ! GT70 provides new technology Super Raid 2, which contains up to three 128GB SSD plus a 2.5 inch HDD. Three SSD can provide around 1500MB per second access speed and up to 800MB write speed. When you have to work with content like CAD engineers, photographers, designers, artists, video editors or whoever need to work with large images or video & audio files can definitely benefit from using SuperRaid 2.
Another big plus feature for multi tasking users, especially for DCC industry, is Multiple Display! MSI GT70 ships with a Mini Display port, VGA & HDMI connectors, so users can have the ability to output to an array of three external displays simultaneously from one GPU. Heavy CPU or GPU loads users can also benefit from MSI latest Cooling system- Cooler Boost 2, especially for those who have higher demand on heavy-load modeling, rendering or editing ; users can simply by pushing one button then access to system cooling controls.
In 2013 MSI will continuingly expand workstation product line and sales, marketing activities in order to offer more invaluable features to professionals.

  • MSI to discontinue Server/Workstation Boards?

Is this true? Is MSI really discontinuing server/workstation motherboards?

Ok.. Guess its somewhat confirmed.. Talked to Ben in sales today at MSI. He said "MSI California has discontinued the server/workstation boards. Once stock is depleted, they will not be getting any more". They say its because of the lack of tech support for the boards. They said they are just losing money since all they could do was replace boards from RMA rather than try and repair them.

  • CMOS Battery of GT60-2OK

    Hi,
I've been having this "time and date" problem on Windows 8.1, i dont know what causes it but the time and date changes randomly?, I read some what might cause this, probably the CMOS battery? How and where do you replace the CMOS? anyone know a guide or could guide me?
Also i check by entering the BIOS setup by pressing DEL on startup.. is it normal that the time 'seconds' doesnt tick on the BIOS screen? Like it doesn't lively tick when you see it?
    My laptop is GT60-2OK Workstation

You can look at the disassembly guide section or make a post there for a guide to be posted.
It's inside the notebook, and you could probably get away with using the GT60 guide, but I don't know for sure if it's exactly the same.

  • Trackpad click bar not working correctly after getting a keyboard replacement.

I just got my whole keyboard replaced two days ago due to a sticking "m" problem on my 2008 macbook pro.  They didn't replace my trackpad, but now, it seems that my trackpad clicker will only respond if I apply a lot of pressure to the middle of the upper edge of the bar.  If I click anywhere else on the bar, the bar is completely unresponsive.  It makes clicking and dragging nearly impossible. I once had this problem when I had a bulging battery, but the battery is fine now.  Could something have happened when they replaced the keyboard? It can't be coincidence...  Is there a home remedy?  I know they will want to replace it if I take it in, and my old maching has been off warranty for a while now.

Either a misalignment or a cable is not properly connected.
Since they just "fixed" the keyboard I'd say take it back as they most likely caused this problem.
If you want to do it yourself, iFixit could be particularly useful:

  • W530 keyboard replacement?

    Hello!
I'm a first time thinkpad user. I received my W530 yesterday, and I am very happy with it. there is one thing with the keyboard though; I picked the wrong layout. Unfortunately I havent got enough money to buy a new backlit keyboard with the US layout (mine right now is NL, dutch). Is there any way I can get the keyboard replaced or send it back to lenovo for a replacement keyboard? This is a real bummer, and a stupid mistake. Typing right now is horrible. I searched across the board, and saw some posts about calling the IBM services and such.
    Any tips? Thanks!
(sorry for posting this in the wrong board, if so)
EDIT: If it matters, I can replace the keyboard myself if needed.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As far as i know, the service department doesn't allow replacement of keyboard based on language preferences. i.e. changing from one language layout to another.
You would have to source the keyboard from elsewhere.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2: Using PowerShell to send a MSI file to all workstations

    Hello!
We are currently using Windows Server 2008 R2. In the upcoming months, we are releasing new software. Instead of touching all the machines with gpupdate /force, we would like to know if we could somehow use Windows PowerShell and send that
command to all the computers in our organization? We are currently in the process of using Group Policy Management to set up the new GPO. After we create them, we would like to send the MSI file to all workstations. I know it is SUPER easy to do within Windows
Server 2012... as I have read articles and seen screenshots. I am just having a hard time figuring out how to make it work with Windows Server 2008 R2.
    Thanks!

where Computer is one of your remote computers.  If that succeeds, great!  But I'm guessing it won't and enabling that on all of your computers would require more effort than what you're trying to accomplish in the first place.
Psexec is free to download and you don't have to deploy it:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx
As far as identifying your target computers, it really depends on your environment.  Get-ADComputer is effective, but the example I provided above would get literally every computer in your active directory - is this something you want to deploy to
any and all servers, workstations, etc?  How big and complex is your AD?  Is this something you need to coordinate with all your systems around about the same time, or can it be staggered?  Do you expect your target computers not to reboot between
now and then?  I know that's a lot of questions, but your question is loaded and not easy to answer without knowing more about your environment.
    What about this?
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj134201.aspx
There is a requirement to have certain firewall exceptions on your target systems, but hopefully they are because that is the best approach.
I hope this post has helped!

  • IBook G4 Keyboard Replacement

Does anyone know how much a replacement keyboard will cost for an iBook G4 (14 in)? Also, if someone knows of a site that sells them can I have the link?

    Hi there:
Several places (online - search) have iBook G4 14" or 12" - replacement
keyboards; one such place has both the item, their asking price and a
link to supposedly help remove and replace it, here:
"G4 iBook Keyboard Replacement - White Ice - New..."
    http://www.powerbookmedic.com/G4-iBook-Keyboard-Replacement---White-Ice---New-p- 16595.html
Companies who sell parts, and also provide repair services may also be
good places to inquire; one such could be wegenermedia.com and they
also have a toll-free number (during regular business hours) & real people.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Would a Top Case keyboard replacement for Macbook Unibody A1342 (US version), be compatible w/my Macbook if originally it had a Japanese version?

I bought a Macbook Unibody back in 2010, and until now the system is still working perfectly fine, probably because I keep on updating my software version, currently I am on Mac OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion)...I don't have issues with it.
I bought this Macbook in Japan, the keyboard version is on Japanese (with US alphabets) becaue I was studying Kanji back then, and apparently I am now living here in the Philippines and some of my keyboard keys are lost and they were taken off by my naughty niece (LOL, couldn't blame her though... she's just 2 years old)... now I am looking for a replacement. I couldn't find Japanese version of Top Case replacements here in Manila... now I kinda realized I might as well use a US version moving forward.
Now my question is re: Top Case keyboard replacement for Macbook Unibody A1342 (US version), would it be compatible w/my Macbook if originally it had a Japanese version?
Thanks in advance for all the help & informations. I would really appreciate it before I buy a replacement.
Have a good one guys! ^_^)Y

but it has been dropped a bit.
Translation - It has been dropped multiple times.
All the problems are likely related. Better get it to an Apple service rep and be aware that any warranty does not cover abuse of the product.
