MSI Ti4200 Run DLL as an app. error
Hi all,
Sorry if this has been answered before.
I have an MSI Ti4200 VTD-8X (128mb) with VIVO running on a 2.4Ghz, 512 mb, Asus P4S8X motherboard, PC running Windows XP.
The problem is that when I try to access the MSI Settings tab in the control panel I get a " Run.DLL as an application error" message. The error message was more detailed before I upgraded to service pack 2 and said something about 'system 32' but now all I get is the above message. I can access all other options under the control panel but not this one.
Tried all latest and different drivers as well as un-installing re-installing Windows to no avail. Problem has been present since I bought the PC (about a year and a half ago).
Any help would be appreciated.

The problem was there even when the computer was brand new and the only drivers that had been installed were from the MSI disc. Have since tried all combinations of uninstalling/re-installing MSI drivers and XP itself to no avail. Uninstalling the old one as opposed to installing the new one over the top as well. Currently using the latest Forceware driver (5.6 or 6.something?) and find that to be pretty good (fixed another problem I had with capturing video) but still didn't fix this problem.
Forgive me, as I know very little about this sort of thing, but could it be a conflict with the card and motherboard (even though Asus list the card as compatible) ? Or a bios thing ?
Tried in vain to get help from MSI with no luck. Frustrating as I'd like to tickle the old girl up a bit. I hear you can get them running the same specs as Ti4400's.

Thought rundll32 was win 9.X call???
Any suggestions?
THXTried re-formatting, but XP drivers don't recognize the card.
Tried with WIN2K Pro. similar errors.
I suspected Win98SE would run better, but it's an Athlon 1800XP chip and would run better on XP. It's all for a friend.
Think I'll recommend an ATI video card....

Error in running oracle report on APPS due to print style
Hi
i have an oracle report which displays about 550 rows of data...When i try to run it with oracle apps i selelect landwide but i get an error as the defined style can not print that much amount of rows.Is there any toher style which prints this many amount of rows or i have to create a new print style.

Also intriguing is the error you report. Where and what exact error do you get? Error codes/messages need to be reported exactly (not paraphrased).
Was that in displaying the info or in printing it to a printer? -
I have a base template (which has never been sysprep'd) from which I create linked clones. After the linked clone comes up, I run the following command:
c:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /generalize /oobe /reboot /unattend:c:\windows\panther\unattend.xml
This works fine for the first few linked clones, but after about 3-4 linked clones are running, I start to hit "A fatal error occurred while trying to sysprep the machine."

This is typical of an OEM license issue.
To avoid this in the future you should look at site/volume licensing.
Anyway.
so, first check if you can re-arm by runing the
slmgr.vbs /dlv and check the re-arm counter, if it set to zero.. you need to do the following :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929828 (set the <SkipRearm>1</SkipRearm> like in the example, note: this option will make the product key window to appear in the setup process).
you can also try running : slmgr.vbs -rearm, to rearm Windows.
after that, let's come back to the sysprep process.. for syspreping already syspreped machine we have to change few keys in the registry :

Error while running / creating webcenter portal app
Hi,
I had a fresh installation of Oracle JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0. I installed the oracle.webcenter.customization_bundle and oracle.webcenter.framework_bundle as well. Now whenever I want to create a new Webcentre Portal App it's missing out the folders like application sources, in Web content it's missing out 'images' and 'oracle' folders.
Now even if i open a webcentre app taken from a different machines and run I'm getting this error.

How to resolve it?Hi,
The path to your JDeveloper installation has a space in it - "D:\Oracle middleware1". This is known to cause issues with the Integrated WLS.
I suggest you reinstall JDeveloper into a directory without space for e.g. D:\Oracle_Middleware_1 or even better a shorter path like D:\OR_MW_1. -
having lots of problems with TB lately but until today it worked itself out somehow....now today I- can't open it. suddenly after being prompted to update TB I get error messages. 'program files(x86) Mozilla/Thunderbird/ icud+52.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains error. install again or contact software vendor' then after I click that away get another one 'cannot load xpcom' . I am not very tech savvy with computers but have tried every reasonable thing I trust myself doing. I thought it might have to do with a an outdated Firefox so reinstalled that. I have searched high and low on how to uninstall TB and reinstall again WITHOUT losing any emails...,but none of the answers I found on this question are clear about this so I don't dare to do it yet. I don't have my pop address emails redirected anywhere else (not to webmail) so only access them via TB on my computer. How can I solve this without losing ALL my existing emails and email folders?

I have a look at my own Windows 8.1 machine, the sqmapi.dll in 'C:\Program Files
(x86)\Windows Portable Devices' is 217KB and in “C:\Program Files \Windows Portable Devices” is 272KB.
If you want to make a modification to the files, it is recommended to make a restore point and backup the important data to reduce the risk of unexpected error.

The SqmApi.dll is a part of system ,we don`t recommend to try to repair it with a thirty party software. We cannot verify the safety of the software.

Server Error: Unexpected Error when running Napa SharePoint 2013 App
I am getting an error "Server Error : Unexpected error" when I try to run a SharePoint 2013 app in Napa Development environment.
It starts the process normally but after it shows "Uninstalling previous version" it throws the error. This has been happening since yesterday.Someone helpI have a solution to the problem. I had a folder with a JSON file. On renaming the file to .txt, the app ran normally. I believe .json files are not supported in SharePoint hence the error.

The specified module could not be found." I wonder if this is related to my uninstalling (or attempting to uninstall) Windows Media Center, because it would take such a long time to open, and I didn't know how to disable it from automatically starting.
Do I need to reinstall the file? I don't think I have any original software separate from what came with the laptop. I do have a Recovery Disc Set from Feb. 2011. Is there another way I can download the file and/or fix this?

SLThanks very much for the reply. I did uninstall the software by using the Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. I went in and unchecked the box for Windows Media Center and when I rebooted, the message didn't come up again.
I also started getting another similar DLL error message, but it was under our Users folder: AppData\Roaming\newnext.me\nengine.dll. I unchecked it ("Next Live") the same way as for the Windows Media Center and when I rebooted, it didn't come up. I didn't
uninstall or do anything else, so do I need to do so? (I don't know what "Next Live" is.)

Run DLL error - Playtopus Updater.dll
I have a G780 laptop and since a few days ago have had a RUN.DLL pop up box advising that an Updater.dll file cannot be found.
The box mention PLAYTO 1 which, I have read from other posts is a known problem involving the Playtopus program, which I had downloaded and uninstalled. Following this, the problem has started.
I have tried running the scan that replaces corrupted files, but this has had no effect.
I have read the post "Run.dll error", updated 16 July by solid cruver, and my problem is identical, although as I said, I could not resolve it as the Playtopus program has already been removed.
Any help appreciatedResolved by removing playtopus in Task Scheduler.

Error when trying to run my first Java app
Okay, Im new to Java programming. I started a day ago :). My question is after I compile my application like so.
javac TestGreeting.javaIt give me a .class file. So the next step is I want to run it so I do the following.

After getting rid of a virus, I was getting some messages that specifically came up in a box titled "Run DLL" and said only "the specific module could not be found." Three of these messages would pop up each time I logged on to my computer. Ultimately, through autorun, I was able to narrow the issue down to SMupdate 1. I disabled SMupdate1 and I haven't seen these messages since. I just wanted to make sure it was okay for me to go ahead and delete SMupdate1, as a result. I'm not personally computer savvy so I didn't want to do anything that's irreversible. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Please find solution to solve the problem...you form is running in the browser with the help of Jinitiator which is nothing but A JavaInitiator.
as your machine files located in the System32 folder of your windows directory as .DLL. are not able to communicate with the Jinitiator DLL Files being used
for the JRE.
The Form is sending the request to the internet explorer to run the object of applet ttype which is nothing but the Oracle Java Applet named as OC4J(Oracle Container for Java)
if your form is running or trying to run and hangged due to some problems and your machine got abnormal shutdown then at that time the DLL fiels communicating each other may got corrupt
due to any abmormal shutdown of your machine...
the problem is there with the Java Side...
There is no solution other then reloading the JRE and Jinitiator as per the error being thrown by your machine -
Overheating and Lock ups with MSI TI4200 128DDR
This card seems to overheat and lock up during game play.
Does anyone have a solution?

300W PSU in a standard P4 case
No overclocking
Currently I play games with the case open and an external fan blowing into it.
This as fixed the problem.
I looking for a permanent solution.
Should I get a better PSU?
...or should I just get an ATI 9700 ProFrom what you said your PSU is handling the load but having a dual fan PSU will help temps by maybe a degree or two.
You may not have adequate ventilation and need to ad some fans to your case but that may be the straw that breaks the camels back if you are on the edge as far as adequate power is concerned.
There are quite a few folks that run with the side covers off but you have to keep in mind the ambient temperature where the PC is being used in any case.
So far my experience with GF4 cards is they inherently run hot and can raise the temp in your case several degrees. Nature of the beast.
Bottom line, better cooling and airflow is paramount and take a look at the heatsink, it may have been mounted poorly...this happens with any manufacturer at times and I usually re-mount it with a thermal paste of my preference. Keep in mind you will probably void your warranty with the manufacturer should you need to return or RMA the product.
