MSI TI4200 VTP not recognised in K7N2 DELTA

Hi All First Post and very Confused
Spec First
MSI TI4200 VTP Graphics
K7N2 Delta LISR M/B
AMD 2800 CPU
1GB Samsung P2700 DDR Ram
500 w PSU
80gb ATA 133 HD
120gb SATA HD
Windows XP Proff Edition OS
Problem is that I have just built this computer installed windows and all MB drivers and everything is fine I then install th Graphics card drivers and I get a blue screen upon the restart that is to quick to read and the system just reboots to the safe mode selection screen this is an ongoing loop if i select start windows normally. If i select safe mode the system boots up in safe mode.
I also noticed after I had taken windows back to last known good configuration that windows had not recognised my card and just showed VGA adapter with the yellow exclaimation mark. I have tried another graphics card and that worked fine.
windows installed it etc automatically
How can I read the blue screen or what is on it as it flashes up so quickly and what do you fine people think my problem is I have disabled 8x agp in bios
The TI4200 came out of my previous MSI KT400 Ultra
Please help

Doesn't matter if the old PSU ran your old system. That's not the case now. We need the make, model, and specs of your PSU.
We can't help you if you don't give us the info we requested. Obviously, you have a problem and you can't find it, so you're possibly overlooking something. Read my article on PSU's at the top of the forum. Total wattage rating doesn't guarantee a thing, and many PSU manufacturers intentionally deceive their customers.

  • Soundblaster live gameport not working on k7n2 delta-L

i have a k7n2 delta-L motherboard and i installed a soundblaster live sound card and can not get the game port to work at all. first i thought it was a bad card so i installed a different card and the same thing so ithen thought it was the game controller and tried a different one and it didnt work either . and yes i disabled the on board sound in the bios before installing the card. i have it in ide slot #3. seems to be the best to go with .i am running win 98 se. and all my drivers are up to date. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    fourhooffarms,
In the BIOS Disable the onboard Realtek Sound and then put the Live! in PCI Slot 3 or 4, then set the IRQ of that Slot to IRQ5.
Also list all your IRQs and every Device on each IRQ.
    Take Care,
    Richard
P.S. Do list the specs on your Power Supply too.

  • MSI Wind DC110 not recognising keyboard

Hi, I have a new MSI Wind DC110. I'm trying to set it up but when I attempted to start it up, it stopped on a screen saying "Press F3 to run Recovery Tool". There is no way I can find to get past this screen. I have a wireless keyboard & mouse, and the box does not respond to any key-press. I plugged in a USB keyboard, and no lights come on and no keys work. I am completely stuck and unable to boot the box.
I found that someone listed the same problem but I could not see any answers!

There are multiple users with this problem. Did you in the meantime find an answer to your question? Could you please post it for our benefit? Thanks

  • Pls help! USB Storage Devices does not work for K7N2 Delta-L

    hi all,
I am pulling my hair out trying to resolve this issue.
Everytime i plug in a USB Storage Device/Thumb Drive(eg Creative NOMAD), my system gives an error saying task cannot be performed due to a I/O device error.
Yet, the USB ports work well with other USB devices like mouse, keyboard, USB sound cards, printers and so forth??!!
I am using WinXP SP1 and have installed the patch that comes on the CD driver. Pls help me out if you know the answer. ...
    Thanks!
    Les

I'm pretty much going to confirm the same going with compatibility issues here...there is still alot of hardware out there on the market that is incompatible with many other types of hardware...
We've reached the day when alot of us like to think that ALL manufacturer devices should work flawlessly with everyone else's devices on the market. This just isn't the case and I don't ever see this being the case. Ideally it would be nice but the fact is is that no company can "cover all the bases" in this respect. There are literally hundreds of thousands of hardware mfg's out there now and this cannot be a reality unless the PC world goes Apple. Same standards for all period. No fluctuation or ability to expand on new ideas without going to the "Standard Setting Company" directly for full testing capability.
Regardless of that fact, I'm kinda surprised that you can't get this device to work on your rig. Have you tried a fresh install of XP? Have you tried using a PCI USB device to see if the MB ports are bad? Could be that the MB has a problem that doesn't show until you use that device...many things to try here to troubleshoot your problem.

  • MSI K7N2 Delta 2 - nvraid drivers will not install

I have recently upgraded my mobo to MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum. I use Athlon 2700+ running at 2.157 GHZ, 512 MB Samsung PC3200, 128 MB ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, 3 WD Hard Drives (Main bootable HD 60 GB and 2 identical 80 GB HDs configured as nonbootable RAID 0). I am running Windows XP PRO (OEM) with SP 1A. I did not have any problems with configuring RAID 0, however I cannot install drivers for it. Windows keep refusing to accept drivers and computer keeps rebooting itself when I try to install those drivers. I emailed MSI, but I got no reply as yet. Does anybody have any experiences similar to mine? Any solutions? Help will be greatly appreciated.

Some additional information. I did not reinstall Windows after replacing the old motherboard. My previous mobo was also from MSI. It was MSI K7N2 Delta - ILSR. When I installed my new motherboard, Windows would come up without any problems. I had a problem with driver installation disc. Setup would not run, well, I take it back it did, but in some kind of invisible mode. What I mean is that the MSI Driver and Utilities Setup window would disappear after a few secionds and when I clicked on setup icon again another window would pop up telling me that the set up was already running. I went around that problem and installed all drivers from within individual folders as I was able to explore the Setup disc. The only driver I was not able to install was nvraid. I hate to reinstall Windows anew, because Microsoft treats one like a criminal, if you call them too often, asking all kinds of questions befor they decide to activate the OS. I did a lot of upgrading within last 2 months and this would be my 4th call to Microsoft if I had to run fresh installation. I am wondering if I could just remove old drivers using either Driver Cleaner or going to INF file and deleting the old drivers from there?

  • HD Led not working with SATA drives on MSI K7N2 Delta

I noticed the HD led does not work with the SATA drives on my MSI K7N2 Delta ISLR
I confirmed that the led is not burnt out by reconnecting a spare IDE HD with XP on it to IDE 1 and the led worked when there was activity, but it does not work when connected to IDE3 or if the SATA drives are connected to Serial 1 & 2.
Could it be because the motherboard doesn't support and hdd led for the Promise SATA controller.
I had Bios v7.3 and flashed to v7.4 with no luck.
Could a new bios update fix this problem?
    Anybody seen this before?

basically it not wired up so works for no one

I ended up giving up on it for the time being, just using my SMC NIC. Would be quite interested in finding out what the problem is though.
Anyone else in the same boat?
    Hi,
Your problem is not the same, SiliconMan is trying to connect with a dial-up modem not LAN. Your problem sounds like it may be configuration, do a search on this post, I'm sure you will find people with onboard LAN troubles. It's hard to troubleshoot though since you didn't provide any info about your computer. Good Luck

  • Strange phantom restarts on MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR

Just wanted to see if I could get opinions on this. My MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR mobo runs real nice now, but still, on occasion, very rare and intermittently, it will just restart. Not likely a heat issue, as the temps are nice and low. Also, not just happenning when I'm playing a game or anything strenuous. Did it once while checking email, once during install of an MS Office program, and once during a game. Could it be my old Gforce 2 MX 200 video card, as the picture sometimes gets wavy (like fine waves on an ocean), and the old computer it was in did similar things, or is it common with this mobo.
    MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR
    Athlon XP 2500+ Barton
1026 MB Kingston DDR RAM (2x512 Dual)
    Gforce 2 MX 200 AGP 4x
    WD 60 GB 7200 RPM

I had errors on test 4 not 5 with Winbond 2-512 Dual Channel called Hardcore Cooling and they said that getting errors with memtest86 may not mean that the ram is defective, it may not be compatible with the memory comtrol and they had me RMA it back. I also was not able to run the ram stable at there advertized rate of 6 2 2 2 it was only stable at 8 3 3 2.5
I replaced it with OCZ after talking to there Tech support people about compatiblety problems with the Nvidia chipset. Sense I installed the OCZ I only had one ram reboot and when I checked I was running the voltage at 2.5 and OCZ said that I should be running at 2.6. They also said that I could run it up to 2.8 with no worry.
Look on manufactor web site to see what ram timing yours should be running at and what voltage, Auto setting in Bios is not always the best setting.
If it still not stable at manufactor spec than I'd talk to who ever you bought it from about replacing it or refund and buy something thats on the Nvidia compatible list.
Most ram manufactors have a list of motherboards that there ram will work on but sometimes the newer boards like K7N2 or not listed yet as still working that out.

  • Data corruption on MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR

    Hi all,
Just got my new MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR up and running.
Got some issues with the memory running at 200mhz while the Barton core of my Athlon Xp 2600+ was running 166mhz, this had to be 1:1 (thx forum  )
While running the default bios settings with cpu/mem at 166/166 fsb everything is stable as hell. I have been running Prime95 for 2 days now and using the system for dvd ripping/encoding, UT2004 gaming etc.
Then the overclocking began   I'm using the standard AMD cooler that came with my boxed Xp2600+ so I didn't expect an FSB of 200mhz.
I stopped at an FSB of 190mhz...been crunching Prime95 for 18 hours now and again very stable.
Now comes the problem : Sometimes I get crc errors when installing a game or decrypting a dvd!! But how can this be? Prime95 is stable at this 190fsb overclock.
When using an FSB of 166mhz no data corruption or crc errors.
What can this be? It's not the cables because they're all the same as in my old setup which was running (ahum...walking) stable. PCI/AGP speeds are locked when overclocking...
Only thing I can think of is the power supply. I've read in a warning post from Bas that the Q-Tec 550w psu I have is crap. So my guess is PSU, but maybe it's something else I'm forgetting...Any suggestions??
The stupid thing is when I'm not overclocking I don't have the data corruption problems, but I'm still using the same crappy Q-Tec 550w PSU.
    Help!
    gr,
    Remco

Hmmm, that's curious. On the MSI K7N2 Delta ILSR product page Kingston memory is recommended
Ok, did a Memtest86 v1.11 pass at cpu/dimm 166/166 - no problems whatsoever. I think using Prime95 would have revealed memory problems...but will do another pass with cpu/dimm at 190/190.
Can overclocking affect the Promise Raid Controller?? It should be locked like the PCI/AGP but who knows...
Well, I still have to replace my PSU but I'm not 100% sure that this is the problem. What PSU would you recommend? ...and I'm also thinking about replacing the standard CPU cooler, any advice is welcome

Looking into buying the K7N2 Delta-ILSR...I have heard that it is a awesome overclocker, and a very fast board.  Has anyone had experience with using...
PNY Optima PC2700 DDR memory on it?  It is double sided memory, with Hynix chips.  Hynix chips are listed on MSI's Memory Compatibility PDF...but i wanted to know if anyone has used it before?  Thanks

Its not tehre, but it does use Hynix chips, which IS supported.  I also have read in this forum that people have got my exact memory to work flawlessly on the board i want.  Thanks anyway!
