MSI Windtop touchscreen calibration

Hey,
I have the MSI AE2420 3D, and my touchscreen isn't calibrated properly.
The "tablet PC" option available in win7 control panel has a very imprecise calibration system.
I can't find any calibration software on my MSI driver CD.
Can you recommend any precise calibration program for my touchscreen?

MSI Windtop Touchscreen isn't calibrating properly

Hey there -
I just picked up the MSI Windtop 1900 10SUS with the touch screen. I went to calibrate the touchscreen through vista and for some reason the "+" on the far right of the screen will not register when i press it. I have to move almost an inch to the left before the screen will recognize my input.
I know the screen sensors are working, because i can use those areas when the mouse is active - but not during calibration
Is there something I'm missing? A way to adjust the "size" of the touch screen?

This probably will not be much help, but have you tried reloading the computer's drivers or the the calibration program itself (a copy is on the CD with the drivers)? You could also try different calibration resolutions: 9 point first, then 25 point etc. It took me a little while to find the calibration program, but once I did it worked fine. Note that Easy Viewer is also on the driver CD. It was not installed on my system initially. At least one other person mentioned the same thing on one of the forums. I have the AE1900-05SUS and it has been working great except for a recent issue with the WiFi (teenage daughter messing around on YouTube). I figured out how to reduce boot time to under 1 minute, figured out how to overclock with setFSB (max slightly higher than 1.8 GHz on mine ... currently running at 1.7 GHz to see how stable it will remain), and figured out how to add additional programs to MSI's "Easy" interface (although it is very painful ... involves editing an XML file).

I need a help to open the MSI WindTop 2400 All in One case so that I can replace the hard drive. I couldn't find any guide anywhere on assembling/ disassembling this product.

I want to run 2x 120 + 1x 4 for the operating system.
And what if I can't even do 2x 120, what if it's just a matter of not being able to combined any two disks. Other than expirimenting and doing all the instalation work (which I will do tomorrow, methinks) the question is, is there a way to make the current configuration work?
(sorry, don't mean to gun down your idea, it's just kind of my last ditch effort.)

T/X touchscreen calibration help

I am frustrated with my touchscreen because it won't calibrate no matter how many times I do it. The alignment is off by different amounts depending on which side of the screen I'm touching. It's especially irritating entering info in the daily agenda and selecting drop down menus, etc. It's fine if I'm in the Graffiti area but I can see how much it's off if I test it out in the notepad function.
Anyone know of any other way to calibrate it other than the installed function in preferences? I hope this is fixable because I really want the Treo 755p and I don't want this issue to happen to the phone too.

Thanks Stevemark. The calibration software did work. But I still have limited writing space in the graffiti squares. Only the lower right quarter works. Everywhere else it skips and I end up with periods or a period and a wrong letter. Also the capitals area is very limited and I often have to retry 4-5x before I get the right letter. Any suggestions?

MSI AE2081 TouchScreen Utility for Ubuntu Linux 12.04

Hi All
I have a MSI All-in-one AE2081. which I would like to use for a kiosk. It's running Ubuntu 12.04 perfectly. Everything works fine. The only problem I have is that the touch screen is really sensitive and sometimes it highlights items instead of clicking it. Is there a utility available that would allow me to change the click settings? I would like to disable mouse emulation and use a point and click option. I have seen it on other touchscreens.

Palm TX won't go past touchscreen calibration

I recently (= 30 minutes ago) did a hard reset on my TX. Now, it keeps asking me to "tap in the center of the target" in a seemingly infinite loop. Is this a sign that the touchscreen has failed or is failing?

The digitizer may be going bad and may need repaired.
You can try this process to see if there is any debris that is stuck under the screen edge.
Take a business card or folded piece of paper. Stick it in the gap between the edge of the screen and the case. Move around the perimeter of the screen and see if you can get out any debris.
If that doesn't work, the digitizer on the device is probably defective and needs replaced.

IPad 2 touchscreen calibration is off - How to fix?

I use my iPad 2 a lot to draw and I have noticed an area of the touchscreen where the sensitivity is not precise anymore.
There is a vertical area where even if I try to draw 45 degrees lines the ipad does a ripple.
I have documented the problem in two different apps (links to screen grabs):

I have visited the Berlin Apple store today and the Apple Genius told me to do a software reset and proposed to subsitute my iPad at the usual rates. I have tried to demonstrate the problem, but alas Apple will look only at software problems inside Apple's own applications and the problem does not interfere with the functioning of touch intensive apps such as Apple Maps for instance. It happens only in drawing apps.
I have followed all the steps indicated in the Support Article about touchscreen troubleshooting
I wonder if there is a way to recalibrate the screen and I am looking for the expert opinion of the members of this community. Should I pay to get a refurb unit? Do you see any other way to fix this?

There have been some known issues with iOS 6 and exsisting routers such as netgear, might want to check your router for a firmware update. Also some things you can try on the iPad is to reset network settings, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings, once your iPad reboots attempt to connect again and see if the issues still persist, also i would recommend powering off your modem and router for 30 seconds or so and powering them back on. No content or information will actually be lost during these steps. let me know how it works out for you.

Touchscreen calibration issues on palm tx after hard reset

my palm tx touchscreen stopped working.so i did hard reset and deletted all data.now when it reboots, i see the screen with the bullseye target and stylus.i am unable to calibrate the screen with stylus.if i keep touching the screen with my finger,the target would move to the other corner and it keeps on doing this, and i can not get past this screen.IS THERE ANY FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM.PLEASE POST

Unfortunately if you have truly done the hard reset as stated and the issue persists, the only thing left at this point is to setup a repair or replace of the device.

Does anybody have a part number to the fan assembly for All-In-One AE2220? My fan is making loud noises, and system is overheating. I would like to order the fan, reapply some thermal paste, and swap out the fan. Fl Studio will thank me , ....I Hope.

Touch screen calibration utility

I've working on a "proof of concept" project that requires the installation of Windows 7 Pro on a Panasonic CF-30CWQAZBM. The O/S installs fine and everything seems to work so far EXCEPT that there is no touch screen calibration utility -
and I need that utility.
The touch screen works - I just can't calibrate it. Does anyone know where I can find an appropriate touchscreen calibration utility? It's a Fujitsu touch screen and I've checked at the Fujitsu site, but they don't seem to have a calibration utility available
for download. Panasonic doesn't support Win7 on the "MK1" version of the CF-30, so there's no help there.

The drivers and utility software would be from the manufacturer of the touchscreen and written specifically for that touchscreen.
If Panasonic has a Vista package for your laptop you can try that, but there is nothing generic in Windows that would solve your problem.

EEE 701 - Help getting eGalax touchscreen to work?

I just installed a touchscreen from dealextreme on my wife's old eee 701 and I'm hoping someone else around here has done so and has some insight as to drivers for this thing?
the device shows up with lsusb but I'm kinda lost where to go from here.

ok gborzi, thanks for all your help earlier...I got it!
for anyone else interested, here's how I did it.
1) install xf86-input-evtouch from AUR
2) install ttf-freefont and xdialog
3) blacklist the usbtouchscreen module
4) run the touchscreen calibration script
5) open the /etc/evtouch/config file and delete everything after the 4th line (MAXY="xxxx")
6) open /usr/share/hal/fdi/policy/20thirdparty/50-eGalax.fdi and add the following 2 lines to the end:
<merge key="input.x11_options.swapy" type="string">true</merge>
<merge key="input.x11_options.rotate" type="string">CCW</merge>
I hope this helps anyone else trying to install a eGalax touchscreen.

AE2220 touchscreen doesn't work

Ok, just got my ae2220-27 and none of the touchscreen functions work. Windows 7 shows the touchscreen as enabled but no matter what app I try touching the screen does nothing. I've tried the windows 7 touchscreen calibration utility in the control panel and again, the screen is unresponsive. Otherwise the computer works fine. Any ideas? Otherwise it's going back to Amazon :(

I suspect the issue was resolved 11 months ago with Amazon.

Lenovo A1000 Screen tearing OR touchscreen misbehaviour......!!!!!!

Nowadays, I see a lot of screen tearing on my tablet in general ui and all apps as well. What happens actually is that..... touchscreen goes just crazy. I mean suppose if I am scrolling down through my contracts or scrolling down in any webpage in any browser (I use stock, chrome, opera) and when I am browsing through my apps in launcher, the screen does not remain in my control, it scrolls down more than what I did and again comes back to where I actually scrolled. For simple example.....I normally type using swipe gestures in my keyboard but when I am swiping across, my screen suddenly leaves response and my word gesture remains incomplete....I have tried touchscreen calibration apps, but they actually didn't helped me. What can be this? A hardware problem or a software? Did anyone else faced this problem? (I have the latest software updates installed and my model is A1000G)

My son dropped my Lenovo P780 and top half of the screen is damaged. Display behind is clear. But touch is not working. So what exactly i need , do i need the complete set or only touch sensor or touch pad.

Section on touchscreen applications

I was thinking it might be reasonable to have a page collecting together various user packages for touchscreen use, in addition to the Touchscreen/Touchscreen Calibration pages that concentrate on quite a low level.
This might include a list of X11 touchscreen packages (e.g. easystroke and touchegg) as well as on-screen keyboards, and other applications with touch-friendly features (such as evince for document viewing and cantata for mpd). Plus, of course, an overview of touch-friendliness of the popular window managers.
One reason for doing this is that i didn't expect touchscreens to work well at all under Linux (and i guess i'm not the only one). Having a list of packages gives a glance of the state of things, and would show that a touchscreen is reasonably well supported, at least at the user level.
Apologies if this is not the place to bring this up. I'd be willing to make a start on the page, but am a bit too much of a newbie to be confident about knowing how to integrate it with the rest of the wiki.

Please do some research first.
For example there's already Touchegg; many lists of packages are already in List of applications; Touchscreen and Calibrating Touchscreen are marked for being merged together, maybe you'd like to work on that?
Then, if you want to discuss changes to a wiki article, you should use an appropriate talk page on the wiki, otherwise you'll exclude from the conversation the wiki users who don't follow the forums.
Keep in mind that in the wiki we try our best to avoid duplicating content: your contribution is very welcome, but if what you add is already described somewhere else, it will have to be removed or merged, wasting your effort and somebody elese's.

MSI GT60 0NC throttle problems with BD PROCHOT enabled

MSI swapped my broken Nvidia GTX 670M for a 870M and flashed a new BIOS. My Intel I7 3610QM processor now throttles down to about 1.17 Ghz in games causing the games to be unplayable. This didn't happen before sending it to MSI. I've send it back already but MSI said they couldn't find anything.
So I went and looked for a solution myself and found that disabling BD PROCHOT with Throttlestop 7b3 prevents the CPU from throttling. I tested this and this works perfectly.
My question is this:
Is this safe to use as a permanent fix, or is there an alternative?
It's stupid I need software for this, can't this be done with a BIOS update/fix?
BIOS version is E16F3IMS.51X

The CPU temperature varies from 45 to about 89 degrees Celcius. The CPU throttles at random temperatures, it doesn't need to get too hot to do this which doesn't make sense. It only happens when I'm intensively using my GPU and CPU at the same time.
Depending on the amount of cores used it repeatedly dips from 2.3 Ghz or 3.1 Ghz to 1.17 Ghz and immediately goes back up. It's like watching a video get paused and played repeatedly, making it impossible to play anything.
I have this in League of Legends, Battlefield 4, Company of Heroes 2, Total War: Rome 2, War Thunder and Age of Empires 2 HD. Haven't tested other games but I think it's safe to say they will give resembling results.
I'm using the latest Nvidia driver 344.75 but had similar results with older compatible drivers.
While we're at it, do you know if MSI's battery calibration tool actually works? I only get like half an hour of browsing with chrome on battery before the laptop shuts down and I would like to get this resolved
