MSI Wireless 11g PCI Card(PC54G2) problem

I have a Msi wireless 11g PCI Card (PC54G2) installed on my desktop pc Lately i have been experiencing very bad connectivity between my pc and the access point i have installed in my house(MSI Wireless 11g Access Point AP54G). Whenever i connect i have either low or poor connection. My brother has a laptop with built in wifi and he gets excellent connectivity so there is nothing wrong with the access point. I have even tried connecting with my pc right next to the AP but still i have the same problem. Please tell me how i can solve this problem, also if there is any way i can get a replacement antenna for my card if that is the problem or any way i can boost my signal thanks.

if the card uses a standard screw-in antenna, you should be able to replace it
i have a belkin wireless PCI card in three systems at home here, and i replaced all the antennae with some D-Link ones, i think they were

  • Wireless mini PCI card for Satellite P10

    Hi all,
can anyone help me find a wireless mini pci card for my Satellite P10-304 in the UK?

    Hi
I found several WLAn minPCI Wlan cards which could be compatible with the Satellite P10 notebook.
Wireless LAN card PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802.11b)
    PA3273U-2MPC (Atheros 802.11ab)
    PA3300U-1MPC (Atheros 802.11g)
    PA3298U-1MPC (Atheros 802.11a/g)
Please take a look on the WLan 802.11 standards!
If you WLan router support an 802.11 standard I would recommend taking the PA3273U-2MPC or PA3212U-4MPC

  • Wireless G PCI Cards for Quicksilver

I'm looking to get my dad a wireless G PCI network card for his Quicksilver G4. On the list are the Sonnet Aria, MacWireless 11g, and the Belkin Wireless G. Anyone have any experience with any of these cards? Do I have any other good options that I'm overlooking?
I'm also curious about the range we can expect to get from this card. Reason being is my brother lives one house down & across the street (about 100 yards.) Could my dad's G4 with one of these cards pick up the signal from my brother's Linksys wireless router? This is basically the whole point of getting one of these cards, so if there's no way to pick up the signal then it's all a wash...

Quoted: So is that saying typically I could expect to get 18 Mbps with this card 75 meters away from the airport basestation (or other wireless G router)?
Theoretically yes. Only this has been measured without any wall's or anything like that, just in open space. Also the wireless accespoint has to be able to send this distance.
The USB stick i mentioned above does perform here better than the original Airport Card in my iBook. But ik don't know if it will perform better than the Sonnet PCI card. Because the Sonnet card has a much bigger antenna, so it seems logic to me it has a stronger signal.
The speed should be exact the same. Both adaptor's are 54 Mbps, so should also be able to run at 54 Mbps. Ofcours you should not be to far away from the accespoint.
Here i have a Linksys WAP54G accespoint and my iBook with the Asus adaptor. At this moment i have a 54 Mbps connecton. There is about 15 meter between the accespoint and the iBook and two brick wall's.
Hopefully this is helpfull or solved your problem. (see button's above this message)

I tried to replace the wireless card (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN) in my ThinkPad W530 with Intel Wireless 7260-AC card.

  • PCI card/bus problem in a PM9600/233

I recently got a Firewire card and put it into the 6th PCI slot on my PM9600. Initially, everything worked all right. A couple days later on a boot I noticed one of my USB pci cards wasn't working. Then it started working, but the second USB pci card did not. My original ixmicro 8mb video card also is not working. The situation seems to have restabilized in that the three A bus pci slots are working all right and the three B bus pci slots are not. The pci slots are filled as follows, top to bottom order:
    ATI Rage Pro 128 (works)
    USB card (works)
    A-card ATA card (works)
    ixMicro video card (dead)
    USB card (dead)
    Firewire card (dead)
I've tried reseating the cards; run DiskWarrior; rebooted into 8.6 and 9.1; cleaned the dust out; checked (but not replaced) the battery. No effect.
Whenever a card isn't working,ASP shows nothing connected on that card's pci bus slots.
    Any ideas or suggestions, please?

Thanks, guys. Good ideas. I got it sort of working again, but I am not certain what I did. I did remove the ixmicro video card from Slot 4 and moved the Slot 5 USB card into Slot 4, leaving Slot 5 vacant. I reseated the firewire Slot 6 card. I had to push the USB card so hard to get it to seat, I now wonder if I fully pushed it in before. Query: If that USB card was NOT fully seated before, would that prevent the WHOLE lower bus from operating?
The chip set on both my no-name USB cards is Vendow 1095, whoever that is. I forgot to look at the card when I was reseating it.
I have the 9600 in a temporary location at the moment pending a reorganization of its room; however, I ordinarily have two monitors running on it, so I'll need to put the second video card back in. However, for the moment it may remain out.
It looks as if the problems might have been 1) I didn't seat the one card properly and it killed the lower pci set; or 2) the video, usb, and firewire cards exceeded the power requirements of the lower bus. What do you think?
Isn't the power supply to the two pci buses, top 3 and bottom 3, a separate thing?

  • MSI X48C Platinum - Graphic card identification problem

    Hi,
I have been having this problem for a long time which I still haven't been able to solve.
When I plug my graphics card to the PCI-E slot 1 (Slot closest to the cpu) I get nothing on my monitor. I have to plug it on to the  PCI-E slot 2 (PCI-E 4) to get anything on the monitor. I am running Windows 7 (64bit) Professional.
With this configuration (That is, the graphics card being installed in slot PCI-E4) I am getting a lot of blue screen failures due to  graphics card being non-responsive, especially when running graphic intensive programmes.
Here are the details of my PC configuration.
Motherboard - MSI X48C Platinum (MSI MS 7353)
    RAM  - 6GB DDR3
    Processor - Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300  -  2500Mz
    BOIS - Version 7.4V
    Graphics card - Hightech Radeon HD4870  1GB DDR5
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Cris

    Hi go_for,
    Thanks for the reply.
I am using a Aerocool 750W  (model VP-750)power suppy and the graphics card is connected with 2 PCI-E power connectors from the power supply.
The problem is that it runs on the other pci-e slot not the first one. Could the first slot be defective?
    Thanks

  • Wireless Lan PCI card Ralink- System Preferences Network Configuration HELP

I just bought a PCI Wireless Lan Card for my G5 tower.
Specifically the card i bought is:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220500089785&ssPageName=STRK: MEWNX:IT
    It is a Ralink - www.Ralinktech.com
I installed the driver. Both the card and the driver show up in the System Profiler.
    BEYOND THIS I AM CLUELESS!

PCI Is at the top of the list. it says NOT CONNECTED next to it. But. Where it says status it says: "STATUS: Cable unplugged" ( and underneath) "The cable for PCI Ethernet Slot 4 is not Plugged In."
    What cable??
Configure is set to "Using DHCP"
As i said before. in system profiler it shows up in the correct slot and the driver is installed.
Ralink has its own software that pops up too called WirelessUtilityCardBusPCI. Without me doing anything, my router name shows up on its list so it does recognize it. But connecting to the internet i cannot do nor getting it to come up in System Prefs. Anybody Mess with WirelessUtilityCardBusPCI?

  • MSI GT70 Bigfoot PCIE Ethernet Controller problem

I have a MSI GT70 laptop.  I quit working on it last night at 11 PM and left it on (paused a game).  When I got up this morning it had rebooted and had the message:

or Insert boot media in selected Boot device and press a key
When I press a key it leads me right back to this screen.
There was no activity on the laptop between ending a session and finding this screen.
I have read of a few others having this problem and I'm interested in troubleshooting it before I send off for repair.  Thanks for the help, and please be a specific as possible for the computer non-literate (me)

Ok...how?  I can get into bios setup by hitting delete at boot up, but where to from there, and how do I identify the hat drive?

  • Dual-Net Bluetooth+802.11G PCI Card PC54GBT

Just checking to see if anybody knows when this K8N Neo accessory will be released??
It's designed to use the orange PCI slot on the K8N Neo and provide both Bluetooth and WiFi access points with only 1 antenna and 1 slot....
Here is the only pic I could find on the Net.

Sorry I was a little slow posting the results, but the shop phil86 directed me to was prompt, and sent me back a response the next day.  Sounds like a good place to deal with, however they don't sell the card by itself and shipping to the US is expensive.  Has anyone found a source that sells just the dual-net card?
As promised, here is the response Gladiator Computers sent back to me ...
Unfortunately at this time this product is not sold on its own, only as a bundle with the board. I have checked this previously with MSI.
The cost of shipping to USA for the board and card is £40.00
We are unable to accept payment via any type of card, only via cleared funds, a bank transfer for the full amount in GBP Sterling.
If you have any further questions please let us know.

  • Belkin 802.11g PCI Card

Thought I'd let y'all know that I popped a Belkin High-Speed Mode Wireless G Desktop Network Card (F5D7001) into my 466DA. OS 10.3.9 recognized it right away and it seems to surf faster than the old Airport card. Then I sold the Airport card for more than the cost of the Belkin card. Seems like a pain-free way to get some more speed online.

that's awesome! the belkin card, does it use its own drivers or does it use the built-in airport driver?
too bad i don't have a airport card

  • Which pci card to choose

i am wanting to buy a pci graphics card for my p3 system, as it has no agp, i already have gf2mx200 pci card, but i want something that will run new games the best chipset ive come across for pci slot is either FX5200 or the ati radeon 9200, i think the radeon is inferior to the fx5200(correct me if  i am wrong any link to a comparison b/w the both will help) so i have made a choice of buying a fx5200 based card, my question is that does msi build any pci cards on the 5200fx chipset because in my country there r only official distributors of msi or asus, and thats the only way i can order those cards.pls tell me the exact models of the msi cards built on fx5200 chipset, plus correct me if im wrong, the 9200 and the fx5200 r the only chipsets with a pci version out there, or as i have heard a gf4 mx is also an option.btw in order of capability or performance how would u put the 3 mentioned chipsets in order.

I own a FX 5200 AGP but I have a more powerful system, so I would recommend you the ATi Radeon 9xxx because it has better performance. The DX9 features of the FX will be useless for a pc of that calibre (Radeon 9200 doesn`t have DX9 support, also)
Good Luck in the buy of your new card!!!

  • MacWireless PCI Cards

    Hello,
Has anybody out there tried the MacWireless 11g PCI Card from MacWireless.com?
I'm initially interested in this card because it's supposed to be compatible with G4 towers and give the speed of 54 Mbps, a speed that can't be reached by purchasing the original Airport card (my 450 dual mac isn't compatible with Airport Extreme). According to the specifications, this card will be recognised as an Airport card and requires no additional software.
I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.3.4. Does any body know which Airport drivers this version of OS X has? (The MacWireless PCI card rev B requires Mac OS 10.3.3 or later and AirPort Drivers v. 4.2 or later.)
Finally, if I was to use a regular original Airport card, would it hinder potential broadband internet speeds on my computer? Would web pages load much slower?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Gigabit Ethernet Dual 450 G4   Mac OS X (10.3.4)   1.6Gb RAM, running Quark Xpress 6.5 & Adobe Creative Suite

    Hi Tom,
I haven't used the card but from what I've read it's compatable with OS X 10.2-10.4 with Airport 3.1-3.3; 3.4 and up native.
You can find the version of Airport you have with Apple System Profiler. Go to the Apple menu and choose About This Mac and then click on the More Info button. Click on Extensions under Software on the left and all installed extensions will appear on the right.
You won't be able to surf the web any faster with a 802.11g card because your internet connection isn't even as fast as 802.11b but you'll save $100 or so over the cost of an original AirPort card.

  • SP A10 with mini PCI card

    Help!
Have had a great deal of success with Toshiba however would like to use it in wireless mode. Have LAN mini PCI card switch yet can not find drivers on computer to enable it.
    Any suggestions
    Many thanks
    Steve

    Hi Steve
I'd say that it is likely that You do not have a built in WireLess mini PCI card then. Normally all devices are configured 100% when the machine comes from factory.
And even if the driver is missing You should have a device that was not configured in the device manager and You do not say anything about such a device so I guess there is none.
It is quite common that models are prepared for wireless LAN (like your possibly is) with a WiFi-switch and built in antennas.
    best regards
    Tom

  • MSI pc54g2 wireless pci card - unable to install drivers

I have just purchased a wireless pci card (MSI PC54G2) and the Billion 7402VGP and am now trying to install the two. My problem (so far) is with the pci card ...
I have followed the manufacturers install instructions but continue to get the following message each time the drivers try to install
"There was a problem installing this hardware
    Network Installer
An error occurred during the installation of this divice
    The data is not valid"
I've since searched the net for answers (no luck); gone to the MSI site and downloaded the latest software (still no luck); searched various forums and removed and reinstalled the card several times (again no luck).
The closest(?) I've come to anything is that some pci cards require pci slots with v2.2 not v2.1. The MSI details for this card does not say anything about this, however I'm running a P4 Intel D850MV board which from what I can find is V2.2.
Does anyone have any ideas that may help?
    many thanks in anticipation

    Hi:
In order for me to provide the drivers you need except for the two I posted for you, you will need to click on each device needing drivers and post the hardware ID for them.
If you do not know where to find the hardware ID, please use the guide at the link below.
    http://www.devicedriverfinder.com/blog/device-drivers/how-to-check-the-hardware-id-for-a-windows-dev...
Here are the drivers you need for the PCI Simple Comms Controller and the PCI device:
