I'd get the power supply out and get a good branded power supply (Seasonic is my preference at this time)....

My Lumia 625 does not detect MicroSD cards when inserted.
I have tried powering off/on.
I have tried formating them in my PC.
I have updated my phone to 3050.0000.1334.0007
I have tried a Kingston 64GB SDXC Class10
I have tried a Sandisk Ultra 64GB SDXC Class10
I have tried formatting the cards in various ways including exFAT / FAT32 / FAT64 etc.
The only progress i made was when i tried formatting in NTSC and after inserting the card i recieved a message saying "incomattable formatted card inserted, do you whish to format the card in a compattable format?" After choosing yes, the phone formatted the card and then the card was undetected...
This was confirmed by checking the card in my PC, which confirmed that the card had been formatted using exFAT, which i believe is the correct format for the phone/card.
Clearly the phone is somehow detecting and writing to the card and the card is functioning properly, except that the phone does not detect that the card exists as expanded memory and will not allow me to use it.
Any help with this would be really appreciated!

Have you tried to perform a reset? It will delete all your data so backup is required. See this link: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/basics/back-up-my-stuff for the steps on how to backup your files. After creating a backup, go to Settings > About > Reset your phone.
If the reset will not work, it is best to have your phone checked by our care point. Visit www.nokia.com/support for more info about the repair process.

Aperture does not detect CF Card

I am using Aperture 2 with my Canon EOS 30D. I used 2GB Sandisk CF cards and have had no issues ever. Recently I bought a 4GB and 16GB CF card and for some reason Aperture/Mac does not detect these cards. When I connect my camera via USB to my macbook, and click import, it does not show my Canon as a drive available to choose pics from. With my 2GB card it does.
Any ideas?

Does the card show up in the Finder? I suspect this isn't an Aperture issue.

Nothing new happens if I type dmesg | tail after inserting a card.
I didn't find any solution after searching on Google, but it seems there are a few other people experiencing the same problem as me. I haven't actively tried anything yet.
I don't have much experience when it gets to this kind of things, so I hope there are some of you who can help me.

In case someone else has the same problem, there's actually a package in the AUR that fixes the problem : https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ricoh-e823-fix/
Install it and enables it with systemd and it should work correctly!

Capture cards to use with JMF....

Hello, I need to buy a video capture card to use with JMF in order to get a video signal and send it using a stream channel.
Somebody can help me and post a list of compatible capture cards with JMF?.
I think on buy a PINNACLE 500 PCI but i have read that it is incompatible with JMF.

Creative webcam live should work, most webcams will work... at least under Windows. I've 2 older creative webcams that work under Windows.
Not sure about Linux support though...

X99S GAMING 9 AC Not booting - Debug 94 code - Issue with GTX 980 SLI in WoW

Hello, I bought the X99S GAMING 9 AC motherboard but have ran into some issues.
The computer won't boot when I put my second MSI GTX 980 Gaming 4 GB card in the last PCEI 3.0 port (PCIE port 5) and I get the debug LED message 94 on the motherboard. I have a SLI setup.
The first card I have in the second PCIE 3.0 port due to the Noctua U14S CPU fan takes up space for the first slot. So I have been running my grafic cards in PCIE slot 2 and 4 with some issues.
First the card in slot 2 gets really warm over 86 celsius. And second: SLI runs really poorly in World of Warcraft. I get a lot higher performance with just one card activated. I am not sure if it's cause I am not running my cards in the recommended PCIE 3.0 ports or because WoW has some issues with SLI, but I heard other people have no issues at all with WoW in SLI.
I got the same issue with 3Dmark firestrike, the cards perform really poor in SLI. I get higher score with SLI turned off..
Though SLI seems to run pretty well in 3dmark 11 and Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls.
But the main issue right now, is that the computer won't boot with the grafic cards in PCIE port 2 and 5. The solution to run them next to each other is not good, cause it gets really hot and I get bad performance in WoW and Firestrike.

Any upcoming bios updates (got v1.3) that will solve this issue on the horization? Hopefully this get sorted out really soon..

You must use the recommended PCIE slots as the manual says for your CPU type, PCIE #1 and PCIE #4 if I remember, just open the manual :P for optimal 2Way SLI, also your 5820k will limit to 28 pcie lanes only if you plan to add more vgas...the other problem is your giant CPU air cooler blocking PCIE#1, do a favor to yourself, buy a watercooler for your 5820k and your problems are gone, add some overclock in your system, low noise and better temps.
Here I use 3x980 in SLI with X99S Gaming 9 AC, going soon to WC the VGAs with EK blocks.....3way is far more temperature critical than 2way spaced one.

Photoshop CS5 64-bit does not detect Video Card

I just updated from CS4 to CS5. I have a core i7 with an ATI HD 5700 series graphics card with the most recent driver 10.9. Photoshop is also updated to 12.0.1. For some reason, only the 64-bit version does not detect the graphics card. Photoshop CS4 64-bit and Photoshop CS5 32-bit see the graphics card fine. I noticed a few others have had the same issues. Has this problem been addressed yet? If not, is there a workaround?

Video capture card to use with WebEx

Hi all,
could someone share a list of compatible video capture cards to use in a PC in a WebEx session?
The ideia is to use an external camera (instead of a web cam) to capture the video and I would like to know if this input will be sent as video (if WebEx will recognize the capture card as an input).

thanks for the advice and links... I was having trouble making sense of barefoot.
I have heard that a card that works well for gaming will not necessarily work well for CAD based programs like Maya. can any one confirm or deny this? I can use the software for things like this but I am pretty low on the food chain when it comes to hardware issues.
It is possible I being too picky wanting an affordable card that:
a.) Has been tested successfully by Autodesk with Maya
and
b.)is available to be installed in a Mac Pro
....comments?

ITunes does NOT detect network connection when I use a 3G modem

since christmas iTunes has not been able to update when i commute, using a 3G USB modem. Over enabled and live WLAN or Ethernet interfaces everything works fine, but TCPdump does not register any packets at all from iTunes when only the USB 3G modem is up. All other networking activities work in this state, but iTunes erronously thinks there is no network and doesn't even initiate network activity.
Seems iTunes tries to be smart by detecting "is there network" by asking something in the OS, rather than trying?
Is this a bug? Am I the only one experiencing this? Is this isolated to my particular 3G modem/ISP? I don't think so...

Hi. Just go a bit further by process of elimination which you've already started. Here's a couple more things you can try.
1. Different USB cable?
2. Try plugging into another computer just to see if your iPhone will get recognised then.
If it still deosn't work then I can only assume that the handset itself has developed some kind of fault, in which case, just book a 'Genius' appointment at your local Apple store asap and get it replaced.

Oci_close does not release the connection when using DRCP

Hello everyone,
we are currently testing the deplyment of DRCP with 11g. I have the whole thing setup (correctly to my best knowledge), but I am facing an issue. The call to oci_close does not seem to release the connection to the pool as I would expect and therefore we see similar behavior like we were getting without using the DRCP.
Our setup is using two RAC instances running 11.1.0.6.0, I am using PHP 5.1.6 with PECL installed oci8 1.3.4. The DRCP pool is configured and started, each with 100 max servers.
When the webserver is idle it looks, well, idle.

The script is as simple as it gets:

What I would expect is that the script would connect to the pool, do the work for a tiny moment and then release the connection for usage by other script.
But after I point the browser to the script, I get a 30 second loading time (as expected) but the server is busy all the time, like this:

After the 30 second sleep, it is released and busy servers are back to 0.

Don't forget to use oci_free_statement($s); See "Closing Oracle Connections" in The Underground PHP and Oracle Manual. (I was just simplifying this example today for the next release of the manual).
You may also see the "dedicated optimization", where a pooled server in a non- maxed-out pool is retained (unless needed by another PHP process) under the assumption that the initial PHP process might become active again. See http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/php/pdf/php-scalability-ha-twp.pdf

IPhone 6 does not show in iTunes when using WiFi

My iPhone 6+ shows up in iTunes when connected via USB. But if I disconnect the cable and turn off iTunes and then come back later it does not show up like my iPhone 5 did using OS 7.
I have the option selected in iTunes to "automatically connect using WiFi".
I have tried turning off my phone and restarting iTunes but it does not help.
Any suggestions?

It sounds as though you are attempting to sync with iTunes via WiFi, and are running into some complications. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes WiFi sync:
Sync using Wi-Fi
Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, choose View > Hide Sidebar.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
While the iOS device is in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device doesn't appear in the Devices section or you can't sync, please try these steps.

MSI X99S Gaming 7 OC Not Working

Everytime i try to overclock my CPU (I7-5960x) no matter what even just a little bit the motherboard wont boot. It gets stuck on code A2 and it just hangs there. There is no picture on the monitor.
I then hit CMOS and it boots up find. The only other thing it sometimes does is just sets everything to default and then boots up fine.
Also,
I can not even set the motherboard to use XMP mode for my memory. It is currently set to 2300 MHZ but supposed to be at 2600.
Any advice? Waiting for tomorrow to call MSI support.

As far as your RAM with XMP is concerned, so long as the OCGenie is enabled, you cannot enable XMP since the OCGenie is already modifying the RAM timing
To be able to enable XMP you have to disable OCGenie and manually Overclock.
Most memory out now runs at 2133MHz (faster memory will be released late Sept. '14) and uses X.M.P to overclock it to the manufacturers recommended speed of 2666MHz-3333MHz. It should default your RAM to 2133MHz without any BIOS changes.
Concerning the issue with the A2 message, the manual reports that is part of the "Onboard devices Initialize and Detect (USB/ SATA/ SCSI……)" section. I have to ask first, are you using an M.2 drive and does the system POST if you disconnect your hard drive?
I would update the BIOS to 17.2 and set the Boot to Legacy+UEFI. If that still doesn't help, disconnect all peripherals, removable media, and drives(HDD and ODD)

Windows nor iTunes does not detect my iphone when I plug it in

Please help, when I first got my iphone 4, itunes and my computer can detect it. Then one day, it didn't detect it anymore. I have tried everything this website has to offer. I even called Apple tech support, and their final solution to my problem was to upgrade to Windows 7. That is BS. It use to work, but I don't know why it is not working now. I have tried all the 5 R's( reinstall, restore, ...etc), but still nothing.
Here is a list of things I have done already:
1) Reinstalled iTunes and all apple mobile software according to Apple tech support
2) was on the phone with apple tech support for close to 2 hours, when finally, they recommended I upgrade to windows 7
3) tried all USB ports in my computer with no change
4) prayed to God for guidance and strength
