  • MSI Z68A-G45 (G3) Issues

    Hi,
Yesterday I took the deliver of a shiny new MSI Z68A-G45 (G3) and managed to install it.
Everything is working fine BUT I can only get the display via the only one of the connectors, either via the on board DVI /HDMI connector or via the ATI 6770 DVI / HDMI connector.
I CANNOT get Multiple displays to work even though Windows 7 detects both the display and I can see them listed in the device manager.
    Any ideas?
ps: I had the same setup working in a Gigabyte Z68 motherboard but unfortunately that has developed a fault and hence I went for the MSI MB

The whole point of going Z68 is to be able to run multiple displays using the onboard GPU and a discreet card..
It's my all-in-one PC which acts like a server, desktop PC and media centre.
It seems this motherboard is a no go... I have removed all the cards etc and still it cannot detect multiple displays using the onboard (DVI + HDMI) connections.
It only detects the display on the DVI connection and not the one connected to the HDMI.
I am going to now install back my old MB and see if I can get it all working again.

  • Where can i order/ship an MSI Z68A-G45 (B3) Motherboard here in the Philippines?

Sorry if this isn't the correct Section to post this.
It seems that the MSI Z68A-G45 (B3) Motherboard isn't available to any retailers/resellers here in the Philippines. My question is when will it be Available here? I can't order one from outside the country because it takes time to arrive and it's going to be very expensive for me. I'm not sure if there's an MSI Branch here in the Philippines, if there is one. I don't have any contact number of them. I really want this Motherboard. Thanks

No one you know thats going across to Hong Kong or Taiwan?

  • MSI H61M-P31 Wake on LAN

Any idea's how to get WOL working on this board?
As soon as it goes to sleep or shuts down (S5) the NIC is dropping the connection and doesn't respond to the magic packet.
Tried various BIOS settings including disabling EUP2013, enabling Wake on PCI/PCIE, both BIOS and OS control for the power management. Also tried the latest MSI and the latest Realtek drivers on Win 7 64-bit.

Hey guys, just picked up a Z68a-G45 (G3) and I'm currently running the following hardware on it:
i5 3570k 3.4ghz at 95w (I have verified that the mobo is compatible with this chip) with stock cooler
    1 DIMM of 4gb Kingston HyperX ddr3 1600 ram
OCZ ZT series 750 watt modular PSU
I currently have the graphics card, SSD, HDD, and CD-ROM out for trouble shooting purposes.
Currently, when I start her up it thinks for a second, powers up, fans spin, and then after a few seconds it dies and restarts.
I went down to 1 DIMM, cleared CMOS, checked for bent pins, even tried a different PSU all with the same result. Is this likely due to the board?
    Thanks!
Verified how exactly? Yes that CPU is compatible, but only when an Ivy UEFI/BIOS update has been performed.

  • MSI Z68A-G45 (B3) slow boot

I've had this mobo installed for a couple of months now and had this problem from the get-go (although different 'codes' on screen).  Whenever I reboot I get a black screen with blinking cursor and the number/'code' 98 in the bottom right corner of the screen.  The system eventually boots to windows, but it takes about 5 minutes.  I've tried pulling all USB devices (except keyboard and mouse).  I've changed boot devices in bios, etc.  The really strange thing is that it was rebooting just fine for a month or so and started this again.  Any ideas?

This has all the earmarks of it being a compatibility problem with either the keyboard, mouse, or the HDD/SSD may be acting up.

    Try with the 10.3 version;

    It also may be a good idea at this point to open a ticket with MSI Tech Support, as it seems to be a compatibility issue IMO;

  • MSI E350IA-E45 Wake on Lan

    Hello,
A few day's ago I ordered the E350IA-E45 to build into a HTPC, but the day after I read a post where someone said that
this board does not support Wake on Lan. So I decided to go searching for confirmation, but I can't seem to find an answer. I've already
searched the manual, but it doesn't say anything about Wake on Lan.
I'm hoping someone here can confirm that it does, or does not support Wake on Lan.
    Willie

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
It has a Realtek RTL8111E lan controller, which does support WOL.

  • MSI Z68A-GD65 G3 Onboard LAN DOA

Hello, I think my onboard LAN is dead.
The LEDs on the connector are off. I installed the drivers but it says I don't have a cable plugged in.
Now I'm using a cheap PCI 10/100 LAN card and it's working fine. Any ideas??

Does 'Network Adapter' show up at all in Device Manager? If not, try removing the PSU power cord, removal of the battery for awhile, CMOS clear & reset. Double check in 'Settings' that feature is 'enabled'. If still not working, or the driver install attempt fails, would then recommend RMA of the mainboard.

Well, that is a speedfan error, we cannot deal with that here (it is a problem of the software).

  • MSI-Z68A-G45(G3) TEMPERATURE

    Hi
I think my mainboard and my cpu are too hot
    Is it right?
    whet do you think?
    look at the picture
if it is hot what can i do?

There is physically no sensor (circuitry) to monitor TMPIN1. The 127C is a false reading. The system would shut down to protect itself if that was for real. Also, take a look at your Voltage for PSU +12V as 8.01. Another bogus reading. If you have any doubts as to what I am saying about that TMPIN1 reading, take the pc to a shop that has an IR device and have them check it for you.

  • Z68A-G45(B3) System locked up and screen artifact w/ IGP

    CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K (stock)
    Mobo: MSI Z68A-G45(B3) ATX
    RAM: 2X2GB Mushkin Silverline DDR3 PC3-10666 @ 1.5V (stock)
Video: Intel HD Graphics 3000 (IGP) connected via DVI
    HDD: WD WD4000AAKS 400GB SATA3
    DVD: Sony Optiarc AD-7240S 24X
    PSU: Corsair CMPSU-430CX 430W
    Other: 1 120mm fan and 1 140mm fan
    OS: Windows XP SP3 32bit
New system build, no OC attempt at all
    Problem:
System can lock up at random time, even during startup or in BIOS screen.  It accompanied by screen with artifact. (will show pic)
    Testing done:
Clearing CMOS thru Clear CMOS button, as well as taking out the CMOS batteries out for a minute
Check voltage in BIOS and they looked fine
Changing BIOS setting from (Integrated Graphic Adapter) PEG to IGD
Reseating the CPU, even though the CPU never hit above 37 degree at BIOS screen
Tested individual RAM module in each slot
Ran Memory-Z and passed the test;  Didn't tried Memtest86+ because I doubt the system will last the entire run
Tried replacing the PSU with an Antec Basiq 430W
Unplugging everything and leaving only the CPU, CPU fan, 1 module of RAM, and HDD
    Observation:
When system locked up with the artifact on screen, the mouse is dimly lighted and flickered when it's clicked.
All 4 CPU Phase LEDs lit up, but the three on the right are dimmer than the one on the left and it appears that they are flickering.
Screen with artifact with vertical and horizontal line
CPU Phase LEDs where one is bright while the other 3 are dim
Is the mobo the problem?  I doubt this system will use more than 300W peak without a discrete GPU and no OCing.  Appreciate all the help I can get.  Thanks.

Re-seat the CPU and check the CPU socket for bent/damaged pins.
That Corsair PSU should be more than good enough for your rig.
I re-seated the CPU and checked the socket, no bent/damaged pins.
Quote from: NovJoe on 06-October-11, 11:18:30
If resitting the CPU and checking the CPU socket still returns same results, I suggest you test your processor in another board and see if the same artifacts came up.
Wish I have a spare board to rule one or the other out, but I don't have one.  Is there any other test I can do?  Can putting a discrete card in the system rule out anything?

  • MSI G70 Dragon Edition 2 and wake on lan

    Hi everybody.
Does G70 laptop support wake on lan feature ?
Or how i can get wake on lan feature for this laptop.

Here I reply to myself : I think this will be useful to other people, whatever the motherboard model.
So, I just SUCCESSFULLY have been able to wake up my PC from the LAN
    Here are my conclusions :
1- There's nothing in the motherboard documentation that explicitly indicates that it's supported. But it is !
2 - I didn't need to connect the LAN card to the motherboard (didn't need any WOL connection)
3 - I have a patched Windows XP. But its standard drivers for my network card weren't enough. I had to install the updated drivers from the manufacturer (admtek).
4 - With these drivers, I could then access, from Windows devices setup tool, to the network adapter APM properties, and I could "Allow Device to Bring Computer Out of Standby".
    5. Inside the BIOS, a few things to setup :
    Power Management Features
    -> IPCA Function : Enabled
    -> Power Management / APM : Enabled
-> Set Wake Up Events ... Wake Up On PME# : Enabled
Actually, this means that there is no explicit need for a "Wake On LAN" configuration. It all goes through PME# (i.e. direct PCI) wakeup events.
    6. Then it works :-)
The excellent free tool available at
    http://www.depicus.com/wake-on-lan/
does the job at the remote computer side (when fed with the valid MAC and IP addresses).
I'm very pleased... but I wish MSI had somehow indicated that the motherboard is WOL capable !

  • Does MSI Wind Box DE220 support wake on lan?

I have searched and contacted resellers but have not yet found any evidence that the MSI Wind Box DE220 support wake on lan.
Can someone here please confirm if it does or if it does not?
    Thanks in advance!

You could wait a long time for an answer here, or you could try asking MSI directly:
    >>How to contact MSI.<<
Generally, people come here looking for answers to problems. Once they get their answer, unfortunately many never come back. As the Wind Box DE220 is not a very common product, not many people have come here regarding it.
None of the forum staff here work for MSI, and none of us have this item readily at hand to test for you, sorry.
I'm pretty sure it should be possible though; modern mainboards typically don't have a specific 'Wake-On-LAN' option, as it is controlled by the operating system, as Bas states already, it is configured through the LAN device's properties in Device Manager.

  • Default MSI Z87-G45 Lan/Usb Help needed.

    Hello,
So yesterday i massively upgraded my pc with the following components:
    MSI Z87-G45
    Intel Core i5-4670K
    GeForce GTX 780 3GB (Classified)
and kept my old Ram (Gskill ripjaw ddr3 3x4gb) ,Hd's PSU. and i am using windows 8.1
The main problems i am having are as follows:
    1. I am unable to get the usb ports to recognize most things i plug in. This included a USB flash drive and a wireless network stick.
    2. I am unable to install any Lan items from the mobo factory disc. The option to install the LAN drivers are greyed out on the disc menu, and when i search for them they will not install. Now i've found them online and downloaded them to a Usb Drive, but i can't use that because the USB drive won't be recognized by windows.
Any help on these issues would be so greatly appreciated, i am getting terribly frustrated and don't know what to do.
I have checked the Bios and it appears to be current, i have also reset the Mobo battery at the request of MSI.

have you done a new fresh OS installation after mainboard change?
